In this lesson, cultivating a relationship with man, God finds in someone the most important thing in building a relationship with Him: faith. Abraham is known as the father of the faithful. God makes a covenant with Abraham and promises him and his descendants a place in the Holy Land.
This lesson reveals the first steps in our relationship with God, including how He removes things from our lives that may hinder our connection with Him. God's covenant with Abraham extends beyond his time—even into our present and future. We also see how God shares intimate revelations with those who walk closely with Him, as He did with Abraham, whom He called a friend.
Finally, the episode highlights a critical truth: unrepented sin always brings judgment. This is demonstrated in God’s response to the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah.
