TALK TO ME, TEXT IT

Have you ever thought about how Tuesday gets overlooked in our weekly narrative? While Monday suffers from the blues and Wednesday celebrates being the halfway point, Tuesday sits quietly in between – vanilla, simple, and often unappreciated. Yet there's something beautifully reliable about this unassuming day that deserves recognition.

Today's exploration takes us through some genuinely bizarre news stories that demand closer examination. We dive into the troubling case of 88 children removed from an Iowa Bible camp amid human trafficking concerns, uncovering the complex cultural dynamics at play with Burmese refugee pastors at the center of the investigation. The story raises important questions about cultural differences, refugee resettlement challenges, and the thin line between charitable work and potential exploitation.

We also examine the FBI's warning about widespread DMV text scams threatening millions of iPhone users, discuss the suspiciously Florida-centric list of "America's most dangerous beaches" (seriously, all ten in one state?), and reflect on personal weaknesses and the daily struggle to maintain disciplined eating habits. The journey through keto dieting – with weekday structure and weekend flexibility – mirrors many of life's balancing acts between commitment and sustainability.

What weaknesses do you acknowledge in yourself? How do you handle the balance between structure and flexibility in your own life? Join the conversation and share your thoughts. And if you enjoyed today's meandering through Tuesday musings and peculiar headlines, subscribe for more daily reflections that find meaning in both the mundane and the remarkable.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, good morning, happy Tuesday.
Tuesday, I think, is underrated.
I mean, every day of the weekhas its special, you know
special meaning of somethingright?
There's Sunday, the day ofworship, beginning of the week.
Monday could also be beginningof the week, but everybody hates

(00:21):
Monday.
Monday blues you go back towork back in the routine of the
week.
But everybody hates MondayMonday blues.
You go back to work Back in theroutine.
Tuesday doesn't get a day.
Wednesday's hump day.
Thursday you're sliding intothe weekend.
Friday woohoo party time.
Saturday, a little bit rest andrecovery and you're back at it
on Sunday.
But Tuesday, what does Tuesdayget?
I think Tuesday's, like me,just vanilla, simple and boring.

(00:42):
And that's okay, I like vanilla, I like my vanilla.
Simple life.
Okie, dokie, we need to move on.
We have some topics today fromthe X-File from the New York
Post.
Actually, I don't even knowwhere to start.
Let's start with this one.
The cops remove 88 childrenfrom a Bible study camp in Iowa
as part of a human traffickinginvestigation.

(01:04):
Iowa, iowa, iowa, all right.
Camp in iowa as part of a humantrafficking investigation, iowa
, iowa, oh, all right.
So I was.
When I was reading through thisthis morning I thought well, I
don't know how, I don't know ifI believe this, but then I kept
reading it and I was like, okay, maybe it's a long, convoluted
story.
And here we go.
Deputies raided an I Iowachurch and removed 88 children

(01:26):
participating in a Bible studycamp as part of a sweeping human
trafficking investigation.
The youngsters are now inprotective custody of local
agencies after they were takenfrom the Shekinah Glory Camp run
by Kingdom Ministry of RehabRecreation.
So my first question here isokay, where are their parents?

(01:49):
What kind of camp is this?
It's just like when I thinkcamp, I'm thinking like I used
to go to a camp, a church camp.
Uh, we'd stayed there for likea week, maybe, maybe a week.
Maybe to me as a kid probablywas a week, but in me as a kid
probably was a week, but in allreality it was probably just a
weekend or something Maybe.
But I had a good time, it wasfun, it was a church camp, and

(02:14):
so my question is how long wasthis supposed camp?
Where were their parents?
Why were they taken intocustody, apparently given to
foster parents?
Where were the parents?
Deputies executing searchwarrants removed the children
over the weekend and took themto a nearby Methodist church to

(02:37):
meet with child protectiveworkers.
The Iowa Department of Healthand Human Services placed the
children in temporary fostercare until they could be
reunited with their parents orguardians.
Reunited what I mean?
What I don't understand.
This I don't understand.
The Kingdom Ministry ofRehabilitation and Recreation,
founded in 2018, was hosting thesummer camp from June 8th to

(03:02):
the 29th.
Alright, so it was a coupleweeks long.
The family behind the ministrythat runs the camp in Columbus
Junction denied the allegations.
What we try to do is we takecare of adults and children who
are under the influence of drugs, alcohol and nicotine.
Victor Bowie, whose parents runthe ministry, told the outlet

(03:26):
the adults and children we takecare of them.
We provide food for them.
The children we separate fromthe adults.
We separate the boys and girls.
We care for them, we providefor them.
Bowie told KWQC that a teen fromTexas called authorities
because he didn't want to attendthe camp.

(03:48):
Hmm, bowie said no childrenwere ever in danger or harmed.
We never harmed that child.
We loved him.
He said we bought him like 400pair of shoes, clothing,
everything.
Christian teenagers from acrossthe nation attend the camp, he
added.
Bowie told wqad8 that when thechildren aren't studying the

(04:11):
bible.
They have fun playingvolleyball, soccer and other
outdoor activities.
So it goes on, um.
But you know, I thought I don'tknow how, I don't know if I
believe this or not.
Um, let me go down to theothers.
I don't, it doesn't really.
Uh, the oh.
Here we go.
The church is run by two pastorsfrom burma.

(04:33):
They are members of the chin,an ethnic minority.
According to an iowa culturalorganization, iowa was resettled
oh, I'm sorry I I can't readthis morning.
Iowa has resettled thousands ofrefugees flinging the longest

(04:54):
running civil war in the world.
So then we get down to thatpart and I'm like, okay, maybe
iowa has one of the largestburmese populations in the
midwest.
I'm shocked.
And columbus junction had asignificant number in the area.
Many of the refugees are poorand work in the tyson's food ink
meat packing plant, where thecompany has translators on

(05:16):
premises.
Wow, the plant.
I don't know if I like this ornot.
Oh, burma, also known as Myanmar, is one of the countries added
to the controversial list ofcountries banned from entry to
the US by the State Departmenton June 16th.
Now that makes a little bitmore sense.

(05:36):
And get this.
Mr Shons commented on this andhe said I used to work with a
Vietnamese guy who, along withhis whole family, was trafficked
for labor at a Christian farm.
Wow, they escaped in the coverof darkness after 10 years.
There's a special place in hellfor these people Aian farm.

(05:58):
I'm not.
Wow, wow, that's crazy.
All right, moving on, we have totalk about your fbi issues.
Urgent warning to 150 millioniphone users.
A little late there.
Uh, fbi, delete this text assoon as you can, and you know
which one I'm talking about, theone everybody's been getting

(06:18):
about your department of motorvehicles.
If you don't pay this, yourlicense is going to be suspended
, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Don't click on it.
Delete it.
A little bit late for thewarning there for some people.
All right, I'm sorry, I'mclearing my throat.
That's disgusting, sorry.
All right, vacation at All right, vacation at your own risk.
Yes, so we have 10 beaches toavoid, not avoid, but these are

(06:41):
supposed most dangerous beachesin the US.
And guess what?
They're all in Florida.
I call BS.
I call BS.
What about California?
What about the Carolinas?
Hello, what about VirginiaBeach?
What about that?
No, they're all around Florida.
I think this is a coup to getpeople away from Florida.

(07:02):
We're just going to scroll rightdown to the top, to the 10 list
they talk about and why, butI'm not going to read all that.
All right, here we go.
New Smyrna Beach, florida.
Laguna Beach, florida, daytonaBeach, florida, miami Beach,

(07:23):
india, atlantic Boardwalk, cocoaBeach, palm Beach, miramar
Heights Beach, cape Canaveral, jupiter Beach Park.
Come on Now.
I think that's bull crap.
Let's go read some of thereasons of why.
So new smyrna beach snagged thenumber one spot on this list

(07:47):
with a score of 76.92.
The tide chart team said thisbeach, which lies on the
northwestern side of Florida, ismost likely to get hit by
brutal hurricanes because of itslocation.
And, to make matters worse, thecoast has earned itself the
title of Shark Bite Capital ofthe World.

(08:08):
Well, it's an ocean.
That's where sharks live.
That's where sharks live, sinceit has the highest likelihood
of a shark attacks.
New samarna beach also hasexperienced 12 surf fatalities
between.
Well, you know, maybe that'suser error and not the beach,
maybe that's dumb ass people andnot the beach's fault.

(08:28):
Um, and I know mr shaw hadpointed out that they misspelled
hurricanes.
I think they fixed it, becausewhen I just read that it was
spelled correctly.
All right, so let's see whatelse is going on.
I think that's all we need toknow about that.
I'm still going to Florida.
At least Orange Beach wasn't onthere.
We go to Orange Beachoccasionally and that's where we

(08:51):
go.
However, I don't get out in thewater, no, I just lay on the
beach.
I might walk in the water, butI'm not getting in the water
like I used to when I was a kid.
Nope, no, thank you.
All right, I guess that's allI've got today and we need to
get to the question of the day.
All right?
Here's my question do you have aweakness?

(09:12):
If so, what is it?
Or if that you will admit to.
Anyway, my weakness isobviously sweets and food.
Although yesterday I did reallygood, back on my strict I say
back on my strict we neverreally got off of our off of our
um diet.
We're still on our strict ketodiet.

(09:32):
You know, the weekend was alittle bit looser.
I.
I say looser because during theweek I'm very rigid in what I
eat and how.
You know I eat the same thingevery day.
On the weekends it's a littlebit, you know, looser, but still
within the keto diet, althoughSaturday I did have a Starbucks.
That's okay, that's all right,and then I'll have another

(09:53):
Starbucks on Sunday.
I know I'll have to explain itto you later, so my weakness
would be sweets, but I haven'tcaved.
Yesterday I stayed on my diet.
I was good and I'm glad becauseI got on the scale today and I
was like, yes, progress, allright, got to go.

(10:14):
Thanks for listening.
Have a great day.
Love y'all.
Bye.
