TALK TO ME, TEXT IT

The power of public faith declarations takes center stage as we reflect on the Charlie Kirk Memorial service. What struck me most wasn't just the five-hour duration or the assembly of political figures, but the bold proclamation of biblical truth from people we rarely hear speak so openly about their spiritual convictions.

Marco Rubio's segment stands as a testament to unapologetic faith in the public square. His seven-minute speech—particularly the final moments—articulates core biblical principles with remarkable clarity and conviction. For anyone seeking to understand how faith and public service can intersect authentically, these two minutes offer a masterclass. When was the last time you heard a politician speak with such spiritual directness? The answer for most of us is likely "never."

Equally moving was Erica Kirk's extraordinary demonstration of forgiveness toward her husband's killer. In our retribution-focused culture, this act of grace transcends normal human capacity, offering a glimpse into the transformative power of deep faith. Witnessing such moments reminds us that even in our most devastating losses, forgiveness remains possible—though certainly not easy.

The podcast takes an unexpected turn toward mystery with the story of two young, experienced hunters found dead in Colorado wilderness without signs of trauma. Their disappearance and the circumstances surrounding their deaths raise troubling questions about what might have happened to these "resourceful outdoorsmen." Similarly puzzling is the tragic death of a tiger handler associated with Joe Exotic—a stark reminder of life's unpredictability.

These stories of faith, forgiveness, and mortality ultimately point to our shared human experience—navigating between moments of profound spiritual insight and everyday concerns like car maintenance and Bible reading routines. Join me in contemplating how we might incorporate more grace and truth into our own lives, regardless of the challenges we face.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, good morning.
It's Monday, so did you watchthe Charlie Kirk Memorial?
I did.
I watched it from beginning toend.
It was over five hours and Ithink my takeaway was that.
Well, there's lots of takeaways.

(00:23):
Charlie was huge, he was biggerthan he thought, and all of
those politicians all in oneplace, and most of them
proclaiming the truth and themessage about God and Jesus.
If you have not listened toMarco Rubio's segment it's about

(00:45):
seven minutes long.
You can fast forward it to theclosing part of his speech,
probably the last two minutes orwhatever.
He spells it out just like theBible spells it out, and I was a
little bit in shock, a lot ofawe of him for knowing it, and

(01:07):
not just knowing it butproclaiming it right there in
front of everyone.
And for a politician, when'sthe last time you've heard a
politician do that?
I don't remember, ever Not likethat.
And he wasn't the only one, there were other ones that did
it too.
But marcos, he spelled it outjust like it is the truth and

(01:32):
you please go listen to it.
And then, of course, erica kirkcoming out and forgiving the
killer of her husband.
Uh, that was amazing.
The killer of her husband, thatwas amazing Way better.
She handled it way better thanwell just I.

(01:54):
Just it was very moving and I'mvery grateful that I am here on
God's green earth to witnesseverything and to be just a
small little blade of grass ineverything.

(02:20):
So, anyway, we need to move onto some other things.
I have like 91 episodes more togo before I end this podcast.
Oh, let's see, let me go overhere.
What am I going to read to youtoday from the New York Post?
There were a couple of storiesthat I had in mind.
I'm just trying to lay off ofsocial media nowadays just

(02:42):
because I just want to quiteverything again.
I want to quit my YouTubechannel, I want to quit blogging
.
I just want to quit beingonline altogether.
But I'm not going to.
I'll still be here, let's see.
Everything is just terrible andawful nowadays, except I don't

(03:04):
know I got to fight, don't knowI gotta fight through it.
Gotta fight through it and askgod's strength and his will be
done and pray and all of that.
So, uh, switching gears, Idon't know how to get into this
next story here.
Two 25 year old elk huntersfound dead with no obvious signs

(03:27):
of trauma after week-longsearch for missing pair.
So I'm confused by this story.
Two missing hunters were founddead in the rugged wilderness in
southern colorado a week aftervanishing during an elk hunting
trip.
According to authorities andreports, andrew porter and ian

(03:52):
stosko, both only 25 years old, were located by colorado search
and rescue teams on thursday aweek after their last known
contact on september 11th.
Porter's aunt, lynn runkle, posted okay, so I know.
They say you can't live withoutwater.
Um, after three days.

(04:13):
So I don't know if they weredehydrated and they, I don't
know.
There's no sign of trauma.
But it is with a broken heartand through tears that I give
you this update.
Andrew and ian have both beenfound deceased.
Their bodies were discoveredearlier today by colorado search
and rescue.
The remains of the two friendswere found around 11 am, roughly

(04:37):
two miles from the rio de lospinos trailhead I don't know a
remote area of the NationalForest marked by steep
ridgelines and heavy timber.
According to the sheriff'soffice, the two bodies showed no
signs of trauma.

(04:57):
Porter of Asheville, northCarolina, and Stosko of Salt
Lake City, utah, were hunting inColorado's Game Management Unit
81, a rugged swath ofwilderness that stretches down
the border of New Mexico.
The Colorado Sun reportedSevere storms moved through the
area Thursday evening and wesuspect the two young men were

(05:21):
caught off guard by the weather.
But what does that mean?
They were caught off guard, Idon't know.
Porter last shared his locationthrough a satellite device with
his fiancée, bridget Murphy, after 3 pm on September 11th and
had last pinged from his carnear the trailhead.

(05:42):
In a phone interview with theoutlet the day before the bodies
were found, the bride-to-besaid she believed the pair
returned briefly to Sasko'svehicle to change out of wet
clothes based on gear discoveredby deputies, hunting equipment
was missing from the car, leading her to believe they had
ventured back out.

(06:03):
Missing from the car, leadingher to believe they had ventured
back out.
She also told the outlet bothmen were very resourceful
outdoorsmen, as in people who'vebeen building shelters in the
woods since they were 12 for fun.
So do you see where I'm goingwith this On Wednesday?
You think these two couldsurvive a week.
Something, I don't know.

(06:25):
Something is weird about this.
She also told the outlet thatboth men were already said that
on Wednesday.
Murphy said there was aconfirmed sighting of the men
with their car at the SpruceHole trailhead on the previous
Friday morning.
The car was then moved back tothe Rio Delos trailhead.

(06:46):
That gives us one more nightand morning.
We know they were safe beforethe storms, so are they saying
the storm?
How did the storms kill them?
I don't know.
Over the following days, anintensive ground and air search
was launched, involving multiplerescue teams.
Thank you all Say a prayer.

(07:06):
So basically that was it.
That was the end of the story.
So I need to know what happened.
What do you think happened?
I mean, I'm not an outdoorsperson so I don't know.
I guess could they have dranksome bad water and that made
them sick?
I don't know, I don't know.

(07:30):
And basically that's really allI've got for you today.
I'm just not into it right now.
Tough crowd.
Miss America, who representedNew York, defends pageant makeup
after social media trolls tookaim.
Oh, tiger handler and joeexotic associate fatally mauled

(07:53):
at oklahoma preserve.
If you guys know joe exotic, uh, tiger, what is it?
Tiger king or whatever thatshow was called?
I have not seen it so I don'tknow.
But um, a tiger handler who wasan associate of tiger king star
, joe exotic, was fatally mauledby a big cat under his care at

(08:15):
an oklahoma preserve over theweekend.
Ryan easily is his name diedafter a tiger attacked him
during an accident on Saturdayat Growler Pines.
The word accident is inquotations.
This tragedy is a painfulreminder of both the beauty and
unpredictability of the naturalworld.

(08:36):
Ryan understood those risks, not out of recklessness, but out
of love.
Why do these people want to dothese things with these?
All right, so that happened.
That's terrible.
See what I mean?
Everything's just terrible,terrible, terrible.
I've got to start doingsomething else.
I am on my Bible in a Year withFather Mike and we're finally

(09:03):
into the New Testament.
We're finished.
Well, where are we Acts?
Of course, the Acts and Romans, maybe.
Does that sound right?
Yeah, so we're in those.
We're in those.
Oh, okay, I guess I need to dothe question of the day.

(09:23):
I'm sorry, y'all was not reallyprepared.
Okay, question of the day.
I'm sorry y'all was not reallyprepared.
Okay, question of the day.
All right, this is kind of asilly and off the wall question.
What does your odometer say onyour car?
What does it read?
Mine is 70,000 miles, 773,70,773 miles, which means I have
to get an oil change in another500 miles and I'll get a tire

(09:49):
balance and rotation and allthat too.
So, yeah, that's my question ofthe day.
What mileage do you have onyour car?
Okay, yeah, that's it.
I got to go.
Thanks for listening, bye.
