TALK TO ME, TEXT IT

Headlines can turn a life into a single sentence—until you slow down and hear the human story inside. We open with the Indianapolis alley confrontation involving former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez: a late-night bar scene, a 69-year-old grease truck driver on shift, an alleged drunken approach, and a sudden escalation that ends with injuries, hospitalization, and charges. We walk through the affidavit details and the hard questions about alcohol, blackout memory, and public accountability, balancing empathy with the reality of harm and consequence.

Then the ground shifts: a 26-year-old in the UK thinks she has appendicitis, vomits blood, and gets rushed to the hospital; minutes later, a scan reveals a baby on the way. The ambulance becomes a delivery room, the infant arrives blue, and medics sprint to revive him before mother and child land in NICU with sepsis. We unpack how cryptic pregnancies happen, why even clinicians can be caught off guard, and how emergency teams pivot when diagnostics upend the plan. It’s messy, miraculous, and a vivid reminder that not every “obvious” sign is obvious in real time.

Finally, we sit with a story the internet thought it knew: a Tennessee woman who fled a violent home as a teen reconnects years later—unknowingly at first—with one of the officers who once searched for her. Their adult relationship sparks viral suspicion, followed by careful clarification of timelines, consent, and the trauma she endured. We talk about reading beyond the comments, respecting survivor agency, and holding space for complicated love.

If this mix of tough truths, sharp turns, and honest context resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend, and drop a rating or review. And tell us: what story challenged your first reaction the most?

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Well, hello.
Uh happy Monday.
Here we go.
We have a whole week ahead ofus.
Well, actually, we just havetoday.
Wow.
Um I have some stories here foryou.
You guys know who Mark Sanchezis?

(00:23):
Ex-NFL player.
Well, he's gotten himself intosome trouble, let me tell you.
The family of a Grease truckdriver brutally bashed by Mark
Sanchez.
Give update on his condition.
So here's the gist.
Uh they were uh was this inIndianapolis?

(00:43):
Yes, I think it was.
Mark Sanchez, ex-NFL footballplayer.
I think he played for the Jets.
But he's now working, well, maybe not anymore, for Fox News
as a sports analyst.
He was meant to go and I guessgive uh color or commentary,
whatever you call it, call thegame.

(01:05):
I anyway, he gets he goes and hethe night before he goes out on
the town, gets blackout drunk, Iguess, and then attacks this
delivery car driver, thedelivery truck driver.
Uh it's crazy.
Mark Sanchez gets stabbed.
The other guy gets stabbed,apparently.

(01:26):
Oh, it's just terrible.
Everything all around.
Okay, let me read some of it.
Indianapolis, Indiana.
The family of a truck driver whowas allegedly brutally assaulted
by former football star MarkSanchez outside an Indianapolis
bar has given an update on hiscondition.
He's okay, family members of the69-year-old Grease truck driver,

(01:47):
identified solely by hisinitials, P.T.
told the post late Sunday.
So this guy was out doing hisjob, parked in an alleyway, I
guess getting grease uhoffloaded from the restaurant
into the truck or whatever.
I don't know.
I'm not a restaurant person, Idon't know how all that works.
And he's just minding his ownbusiness when Mark Sanchez comes

(02:08):
up to him, and it's all on videotoo, by the way.
Uh it is reported.
We are talking to lawyers first.
We want to be careful what said.
We appreciate that, the familysaid, noting they were in shock
that the former Jets quarterbackattacked their loved one.
Grizzly photos of the allegedvictim showed him in a neck

(02:30):
brace in the hospital bed withgnarly deep wounds to his cheek
and jaw.
His family says he was cut inthe fight and it went through
his cheek and hit his tongue.
Um but let's see what here wego.
The driver reportedly got intoan altercation with Sanchez

(02:50):
shortly after midnight onSaturday morning when he had
parked his truck in an alley tocollect cooking oil from a
nearby hotel, according to anaffidavit.
Sanchez, who was 38 years old, allegedly approached him
smelling of alcohol and slurringhis speech according to the
affidavit.
Pete did not have his hearingaids in because the truck is

(03:13):
loud, of course.
So I guess Mark Sanchezapproaches him.
He can't hear him, so he leansin, and that's I don't know if
that's when he attacks him.
I don't know.
Um, let's see.
Pete did not have his hearingaids in because his truck is
very loud when he is exchangingthe frying oil for the hotel, so
he had to lean in close to MarkSanchez to hear him.

(03:37):
Of course, he said when P.
T leaned in, he he could smellthat Mark Mark Sanchez smelled
of alcohol and his speech wasslurred.
Sanchez allegedly slammed thedriver against the wall and
threw him into threw him ontothe ground before the driver
stabbed the six foot two, twohundred and thirty-pound Fox
sports analyst in self-defense.

(03:58):
Yeah, Mom, I'd be bringing outsomething to protect myself too.
The ex-Jets quarterback wasinitially hospitalized in
critical condition, but hassince been stabilized and
released.
He also was taken to jail, bythe way.
Sanchez was discharged from thehospital Sunday morning after
being treated for stab wounds tothe cest.
He was promptly transferred toCentral Booking at the Marion

(04:21):
Jail.
Yeah, we know that.
Okay, so there's anotherarticle.
Let's read the next one that Ihad listed here too, because it
gives another update.
Um let's see.
Uh it says the former Jetsquarterback Mark Sanchez was
acting erratically, reeked ofbooze, and was slurring his

(04:42):
words when he body slammed theelderly.
Yeah, we know that.
I'm sorry, this is the secondarticle that I thought went into
more detail.
The 69-year-old driver said hestabbed Sanchez several times in
self-defense after the attack, telling cops, this guy is trying
to kill me.
Yeah, I guess he would be.
Uh, because it would feel likethat way.

(05:02):
Grim photos show, yeah, hisfamily.
Yeah, we got that former stunkof alcohol.
He didn't have his hearing aidsin, leaned in.
Sanchez okay, sorry, I'm tryingto get to the part I wanted to
get to.
Um so Sanchez was charged withbattery, resulting in injury,

(05:23):
public intoxication, andunlawful entry of a motor
vehicle of his alleged role inthe incident.
Uh, Spence.
Okay, sorry.
And apparently, Mark Sanchez, hedoes he says he doesn't remember
any of this.
So he must have been in ablackout drunk might which means

(05:44):
he had a lot of alcohol.
Oh, well.
I'm trying to see.
They said they've oh, here wego.
Here's the part I wanted.
Prior to the dispute, Sanchezwas doing wind sprints in the
alley behind the loft miller'spub and eatery in downtown

(06:04):
Indianapolis where he wasdrinking and acting erratically.
The station reported citingsources.
What in the world was he?
Well, that's what I'll you know, don't treat consume alcohol and
you do crazy stuff.
Oh, I don't know.
The man, he's in serioustrouble.
I don't know what's gonnahappen.
All right, moving on to the nextstory.

(06:26):
This next one is so absurd tome.
I don't understand how thishappens.
This oh no, no, no.
Sorry.
This is not okay.
Let me go find it.
Let me do that story first.
Since I started talking aboutit, we'll do this one first.
Um, this teenage oh, sorry, there's an advertisement pop-up.
Okay.

(06:47):
Here's the headline.
I was rushed to the hospitalwith appendicitis, but I gave
birth to a baby boy.
This woman, teenage girl, Idon't know how old she was, but
I think it tells us later.
She's 26 years old.
Okay, she's 26 years old.
Did not know she was pregnant.
What?
This can't be real.

(07:08):
A British woman who believed shewas suffering from appendicitis
was stunned when she gave birthto a baby boy in the back of an
ambulance.
I was speechless.
I couldn't believe what had justhappened.
New mom Megan Isherwood,twenty-six, told Southwest News
Services I had no bump, nosymptoms at all, and he just

(07:30):
came out of nowhere.
What do you mean you had nosymptoms?
You couldn't feel a baby movinginside of you?
Did you not have your regularmonthly visits from you know
who?
What?
How do you not know that you'repregnant?
Uh that this is insane.
This is crazy.
I don't even know if I believethey have pictures, but I don't
know if it's real.

(07:52):
I mean Isherwood, how do you notknow you're pregnant?
And it's not like the baby wastiny.
Isherwood awoke in the morningon September 9th, suffering
severe pains in her right side, and she soon began vomiting up
blood.
Realizing that her situation wasserious, the bar manager called
for an ambulance.

(08:13):
Good thing she did.
Paramedics arrived and checkedIsherwood over, assuming she was
suffering from appendicitis dueto the pain on the right side of
her body as well as her highheart rate and nausea.
She was taken to her localhospital for further
examination, but the situationquickly escalated.
They were preparing to be shewas preparing to be seen by a

(08:35):
doctor when blood began gushingout of her, soaking the bed.
Fifteen doctors were crowdedaround her trying to find out
what was wrong.
They ordered a CT scan as wellas an ultrasound to rule out
pregnancy, but that was whenthey found a head and a foot.
What do you mean they found ahead and a foot?

(08:56):
They then blew a they blue lightat me to nearby hospital as they
have a midwifery.
But the baby wasn't waiting onthe when she was being
transferred.
This is when she had this iswhen she gave birth, was on the
ambulance.
She said, I just needed to push, she stated.

(09:23):
However, Isherwood's amazementturned to panic when medics
realized the tiny baby was blueand had stopped breathing.
Thankfully, they managed toresuscitate the premature
infant, who Isherwood has namedJackson, spelled with an X,
before they arrived at thehospital.
The mom and son were taken tothe neonato intensive care unit

(09:44):
where they were both diagnosedwith sepsis.
Thankfully, they made a fullrecovery recovery.
Finally, on September 25th,Isherwood was able to return
home with her surprise baby boy.
What in the world?
The new the new believes thefather is a man she is not in

(10:05):
relationship with.
I struggle to get my head aroundwhat had happened.
I was thinking to myself, wherehave you come from?
You don't know the birds and thebees?
Wow, that's crazy.
And that's kind of where thestory ends.
That is insane.
I can't believe that she did notknow she was pregnant.

(10:26):
How do you not know you'repregnant?
Alright, moving on to this thelast story here.
I don't know how I feel aboutthis.
It's kind of weird.
But once you read through it,let me just tell you what
happened.
Here's the headline.
But once you read through it,then you realize, okay, it's not
as creepy as it sounds.
Missing tin missing Tennesseeteen gets engaged to cop who

(10:51):
searched for her 15 years later.
Okay, so this teen this womanshe ran away from her home when
she was a teenager.
I think she was 13, 14, 15,something like that.
And then one of this, you know,of course, everybody went out
searching for a missingteenager.
Everybody started searching forher, and this cop was one of
them.
Uh but then I guess 15 yearslater, she's a grown adult now.

(11:16):
She finds a job at this policeofficer precinct, and then they
they kind of meet, but theydidn't know who each other were,
and they fall in love.
Okay, so so so you see it's notas bad as it sounds.
Let's let's read through it.
She went missing and found herheart.
A Tennessee woman who ran awayas a teenager fell in love with

(11:37):
a cop who went searching for herfifteen years ago.
Roshan Allie was thirteen whenshe fled from her Jackson,
Tennessee home.
Oh, that was just here.
Out of fear her father wouldkill her.
Tyler Shrupp was one of thepolice officers assigned to find
her.
She returned a day later, andShrupp never met her.

(11:57):
Fast forward twelve years when agrown up Allie lands a job at
the sheriff's department.
Shrupp didn't know who she was,but he was immediately drawn to
her.
He wouldn't stop staring at me,but literally wouldn't say a
word at all.
Uh I thought she was verybeautiful, which is why I was
kind of nervous to talk to her.

(12:18):
Once and there's they're tenyears apart in age, so uh once
they began talking, they felt animmediate connection which led
to Allie opening up about thetrauma of her youth.
We started putting the datestogether and then she described
the area, Shruck recalled.
That's when I started to belike, okay, I was part of that.

(12:38):
It's crazy that back when I waslooking for you, and now we're
sitting here talking.
That is kind of weird, isn't it?
The pair got engaged uh ofAugust of last year, and they
share a five-month-old son.
In July, Allie went viral withher story, racking up five
million views for a TikTok videowhere she shakes hands with

(13:01):
Shrubb describing him as anofficer who went searching for
me while missing.
Allie who goes by Roro Nicole onsocial media needed to set the
record straight after TikTokjumped to the wrong conclusions.
I guess so.
Some of the comments were thathe's grooming me.
Uh he kidnapped me and I've beenwith him this whole time, kept

(13:23):
me in the basement, she said.
In a four-part video series, shedetailed the true and harrowing
harrowing ordeal.
In 2010 Oh, her gambling addicther okay, in 2010, her gambling
addict father, who didn't allowhis kids outside the house, came
home one day after losing all ofhis money and threatened to kill

(13:45):
Allie and her siblings after hecaught them outside.
We immediately ran into ourbedroom because we were afraid
that he was going to startbeating on us like he normally
does whenever he comes homeupset.
His sister stood with her backagainst the bedroom wall and
feet on the wall to hold thedoor shut so their dad didn't

(14:06):
get inside.
Wow.
And she is a pretty littlething.
So then uh So then he told mymom to go get a knife and then
he began to try stab her throughthe door.
What?
So the so the wife and motherwas gave him a oh my god.
When her father eventually wasable to open the door, I didn't

(14:29):
know the story was gonna takethis turn.
Sorry, y'all.
So when the her fathereventually was able to open the
door, he grabbed her sister bythe hair and dragged her into
the bedroom where he beganbeating her with a cable wire.
Goodness gracious, we canliterally hear her begging him
not to kill her.
Well I didn't know the story wasgonna take this dark of a turn.

(14:51):
He duct taped her hands togetherand her legs together and then
placed duct taped on her mouthso nobody could hear her
screaming.
Then my mom walks into our roomand she looks at us and she
goes, Y'all are next.
Oh my god, what the hell?
What was what's wrong with thism mother too?
That's when Allie and herbrother jumped out their bedroom

(15:13):
window and ran to the nearestpark.
Her father called the cops toreport them missing.
When the police arrived, Allie'ssister reported she was
assaulted and the cops tooktheir parents into custody and
where they spent only a coupleof days in jail.
Wow.
Allie and her brother, who wastwelve, were found the next day

(15:35):
and placed in foster care alongwith their two siblings who are
fifteen and sixteen.
Well, thank goodness.
I truly truly believe it was notme running away from the house
that day and officers beinginvolved, I don't think that
we'd still be here alive.
Allie and Shrupp, who were whowill wed next year, said people

(15:56):
are touched by their story.
Alright, I know I went long andho long over my time on this, so
I apologize.
We need to get to the questionof the day.
Okay, just totally random out ofthe blue.
What was the last purchase youmade online?
Mine was a bathing suit bottomsand dry mouth lozenges.

(16:17):
