The news cycle delivered its usual mix of disturbing and absurd this week. We follow up on the investigation of a rapper whose Tesla contained the remains of a teenage runaway. Though not named as a suspect, he's reportedly vacated his $4 million Hollywood Hills rental after police searched the property. Meanwhile, Oklahoma's education department has announced a controversial plan to mandate Turning Point USA chapters in every high school statewide, threatening to revoke accreditation from schools that don't comply. This raises serious questions about the appropriate boundaries between education, politics, and activism in our school systems.

Perhaps most bizarre was tennis star Serena Williams' social media post expressing discomfort over cotton plants used as hotel decor, visibly shuddering at the sight despite cotton's ubiquity in everyday products from clothing to bedding. I want to start off with aquestion of the day.

On my way into work today, I waslistening to music, believe it
or not, instead of my um Biblein a year podcast, only because
it's a long story.
I hate to get into it, but Icouldn't find where I left off

and it's just it made all mypodcasts go weird on Apple
Podcast Player.
So I have to take the time nowto go through the episodes to
see where I left off.
I know what day it is, but Ijust couldn't find.
I was driving at the time, soI'm like, I can't mess with it.
So I put on Spotify.

And in my rotation, I have asong called Carol.
And it's by the Rolling Stones.
And it made me think, what othersongs have a female's name as
the title?
So that's my question of theday.
What is a female titled song?

And I want to start off with uhI'm gonna save the silliest for
last.

But let's see, we uh we have anupdate from that rapper guy who
uh a 14-year-old girl's body wasfound in his trunk of the car, I
think in an airport somewhere ina Tesla.
Now the uh I think the FBI hasraided, okay, let's read the
story.
Romantic homicide singer Davidhas reportedly broken his lease

and moved out of the fourmillion dollar mansion he was
renting in Los Angeles just daysafter it was raided by cops
after a 15-year-old runaway wasfound dismembered in the trunk
of his nearby Tesla.
So they're looking at this guy.
Movers were spotted hauling theNew York-born singer's

belongings out of the HollywoodHills crash pad earlier this
week after he suddenly opted outof the$20,000 a month$20,000 a
month rental in the wake of themurder investigation.
The four-bedroom home where he'dbeen staying was searched by
police on September 17th as copscontinued to probe how the

decomposed remains of TeenRunaway, Celeste Revisitor
Hernandez, ended up in the backof his car earlier this month.
Yeah, I'd like to know too.
So thank you for the update.
We still don't know, but atleast they're looking at this
guy.
I guess they have to since thecar was registered to him.
It wasn't immediately clear ifDavid was still there when the
cops searched the property orwhere he is now.

The singer whose legal name isDavid Anthony Burke has not been
named as a suspect in the teen'sdeath.
If he's not been named as asuspect, how can they go in and
search his home?
The teen's body was found backon September 8th.

Oklahoma.
Okay, Oklahoma moves to openturning point chapter at every
high school in state after Kirkassassination.
This is a good idea.
However, I think they've they'retrying to mandate it, and I

don't think that is a rightthing to do.
Just my opinion.
Let's read it and find out.
The Oklahoma State Department ofEducation has announced
intentions to mandate chaptersof populist activist group
Turning Point USA in every highschool in the state in honor of
the work of the organizationslain leader Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was, well, we know he wasshot and assassinated.
We know that.
Um, on Tuesday, Oklahoma StateSuperintendent Ryan Walters
announced plans for putting TPUSA on every high school campus
in Oklahoma, specificallythrough TPUSA's Club America
high school program, whichpromotes everyday activism on a
range of issues.

Charlie Kirk inspired ageneration to love America, to
speak boldly, and to never shyaway from debate, Walter said.
Our kids must get involved andactive.
How about you teach themscience, history, all that
stuff, math, reading?
I don't know how I feel aboutgetting into high schools with

any kind of I mean, yes, you canhave clubs and organizations,
but I don't think you shouldmandate it.
And I don't think it should befocused on activism.
You know, what happened to chessclub or, you know, I I don't
know.
This is our kids must getinvolved and active, he said,

We will fight back against theliberal propaganda pushed by the
radical left and the teachers'union.
Our fight starts now.
I get that.
I understand it because the leftis doing it.
I suppose we should have to dothat, but it was should it be in
high school and should it bemandated?
I don't know.
The OSDE announced sharedinformation on how students

The announcement has receivedpushback.
Tulsa Public Schools boardmember and Democrat
congressional candidate, John,whoever his name is.
So they talked about taking awayaccreditations and taking away
certificates.
Here we go.
Uh Walters told the radiostation he would move to punish

schools that did not comply.
I think this is wrong.
I mean, we would go after theiraccreditation, he said we will
go after their certificates.
So yeah, they would be in dangerof not being a school district
if they decided to reject theclub that is here to promote
civic engagement.
What do y'all think about that?
Maybe that should be thequestion of the day.

I don't know how I feel aboutthat.
I need your input on it.
Uh, should this be mandated?
I mean, I understand why,because the left is in there,
they're doing it, but they'renot mandating it.
They just have it to be takenover.
And I don't know if we should bedoing this.
I d my gut reaction is no.
We should not be mandated.

absolutely absurd.
And it's and it involves SerenaWilliams.

Okay, let me just tell you ingeneral what it's about.
She stayed at this hotel in NewYork City.
You know how you walk down thehallways and they have
decorations and everything.

Well, there was a decorationthere that she got offended by.
You know what it was?
You'll never guess.
It had a vase with some cottonplants in it.
She took offense to the cottonplants.
Yes, I'm not kidding.
Serena Williams shared herdiscomfort after discovering a
decorative cotton plant in a NewYork City hotel.

All right, everyone, how do youfeel about cotton as decoration?
As she asked fans via Instagramstories on Thursday while
walking toward the plant in ahallway.
She added, Personally for me, itdoesn't feel great.
In another slide, she plucked acotton ball off a branch and
took it into her thumbnail,stating that it feels like nail

polish remover cotton.
Well, it's cotton, sweetheart.
The tennis grate, 43 years old,visibly shuddered before walking
off camera.
And they have a picture of it,and it's just, you know, cotton
plants.
Honey, if you're offended bythat cotton plant, then maybe
you should take off what you'rewearing.
You maybe you shouldn't wear anyclothes.

Because you know, clothes ismaking the cotton, you make
clothes out of cotton and awhole bunch of other things.
Maybe the sheets you sleep on,the towels you use.
There's a lot the weaves youwear.
I don't know if cotton is in itor not, synthetic, but I mean,
come on, honey.
No, you cannot be offended bycotton.

And you know what she's tryingto imply, right?
Yeah.
What a stupid person.

Let me guess.
They're probably made out ofcotton too.

request for further comment.
Williams' uncomfortable commentcomes amid social media backlash
over her over the athlete'spartnership with GLP1 medicine

weight loss with the with theGLP1, whatever it's called,
