Speaker 1 (00:03):
welcome to and here's modi.
Hi everybody, we're back to andhere's modi.
It has been a minute.
I hope you've enjoyed theguests we've had on the podcast.
We have been out and about,we've been all over and we've
been getting such nice feedbackon the podcast.
Every time Leo goes on thestage and says I'm usually not

(00:27):
the funny one, I'm usually notthe one on the mic, unless you
listen to the podcast and saywho here listens to the podcast?
And the place goes nuts andit's a lot.
It's very cute.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That's so nice, it's really cute.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
It's really cute.
Such nice fans we have and suchgreat uh feedback and literally
they just tell us we just enjoylistening to it.
Just a way to numb your brain.
Um, on that note, um, just sopeople know where we are in the
world right now.

(00:59):
Time wise, they have not caughtthe killer of the CEO.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
And I don't think they're going to.
I'm almost hoping they don't.
Do you want him caught, or no?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Look, I'm very torn about this because on the one
hand, it's almost like thisRobin Hood story, you know.
Yeah, they're making him out tobe like a folk hero totally
yeah totally, and the internetis like going crazy and like
people are he's, it's like athirst trap out there keeps
hitting me with.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
You know leo's following it on twitter, so he
keeps hitting me with theselines and uh, yeah, like I would
offer my thoughts and prayers, but you're out of network right,
right, right right.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Somebody said that I hope they take him to the CO.
I hope they take him to ahospital that's out of network.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah, Like you do not meet the deductible for my
condolences.
There's a lot of dark things.
Some of them are pretty clever.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
And he looks a little bit like John F Kennedy Jr.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
And he's white and has all his teeth, so he's going
to get through.
They're never going to find him.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Right, I mean look.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
He's wherever Epstein is right now.
That's where this guy is.
They're on the same island, listen, yes.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
It's so crazy because I at first, when I first saw
the video, I was like, oh, thiswas like a super professional
hit.
And then it turns out that thiswas like completely not a
professional hit at all, likethis guy was like gallivanting
around Manhattan, staying in ahostel, going to Starbucks.

(02:40):
The gun that he used was like aveterinary gun of some sort.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Oh, when did that come out?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I think in the past couple of days Veterinary gun.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I knew it wasn't professional, because a
professional put the bullet inthe back of his head and move on
Right.
He stood there and took thatshot, but they kept it going on.
Oh, he's this professional,he's this professional.
He's that, I don't know.
If you know, patrice O'Neillhad the funniest joke in the
world Years ago.
There was this shooter who wasshooting out of the back of a

(03:12):
trunk of a Buick.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Right, and it was this like for a while.
So the guy would hide in theback of a Buick and would just
take a shot and kill people fromyou.
Remember this right?
I remember.
And they kept going oh, he's amastermind, that was Patrice's
whole thing.
He's a mastermind, he's agenius, he's an assassin.

(03:40):
A sniper, and then they foundit was just a guy in the back of
a Buick shooting people and itwas I think this is the same he.
Obviously they found the moneyand the Monopoly money in his
bag.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Oh, I didn't know that what.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeah, they found his bag.
His knapsack was full ofMonopoly money.
You're kidding, yeah knapsackwas full of Monopoly money.
You're kidding, yeah, the otherthing is that coat he was
wearing.
You can't get it's sold outonline.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
They had a lookalike contest in Washington Square
Park the other day.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
I'm done.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
And I you know.
They say the killer returns tothe scene with other crime, Like
he probably went to thelookalike contest.
If he's still in New York, ohmy God.
Yeah, the internet's unwell.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
The internet is undefined, and then also that
the bullet casings had writingon them Of course, yeah, my
cousin who was a DA for 24 yearsin Miami, she's never heard of
that, never heard like to putthat on the.
How do you even do that?
You can do that.
Yeah, you just have you everseen a bullet?

(04:49):
Yeah, yeah, you can likeengrave something on it.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
So somebody engraved.
What was it?

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Deny depose, I think, defend.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Yes, Listen, it's a very sinister industry, the
healthcare I mean.
They really are responsible forlike hundreds of thousands of
people dying just to be jerksright, and UnitedHealthcare
apparently has the highest rateof— Denial.
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Not that anyone deserves to get murdered in the
street.
Preface asterisk boldunderlined Please do not message
us saying that we saidotherwise.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Did you see there was a picture of George from
Seinfeld, like sweating, like ascreenshot of him and it said
every CEO denying claims today.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Yeah, yeah.
Then also brings you to thethought of like God forbid, you
should be kidnapped or youshould be killed.
What photo do you want used?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Right, that's good.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
That's an important picture.
I turned to Leo and Leo couldsee it in my head.
I go, if I'm ever Leo.
Before I even finish this thing, he goes.
I know exactly what picturewe're using.
He knew exactly what picture weare using.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
I at least have like it down to like a few.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I wouldn't have to like yeah like a press kit, like
a media kit please downloadthis pdf file this is.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
This is all, okay, keep in mind.
Leo and I watch television onlywhen we are on the road and in
a hotel room and the tv is rightby the, by the, by the bed.
In our house, we do not put theTV on, so that's why we were
able to follow this.
It was like a good one.
I see the world as episodes ofa series.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
This is a TV show, for sure.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
This is going to be amazing.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Wait, tell me about the Monopoly money though,
because I didn't hear about that, and that is wild.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Well, I don't know.
I saw that.
I told you I didn't see it onlike a repute, like a real news
source.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I saw it on something on twitter that was reposted a
few times as opposed to thisentire rest of story that we've
gotten, not from twitter thatthey found a backpack in central
park and it matched thebackpack that he had and it was
monopoly money that's incredible.
I mean that that tells youeverything you need to know,
right, like that's a piece ofthe puzzle, although it could be
that his you know.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
They think one of his fans like planted it Maybe.
Oh yeah, that's where Cheek Ledme down that rabbit hole.
Wow.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Somebody said that maybe he like this was like a
personal thing, that he washaving like an affair or
something, and that they didthis whole thing to like deflect
from that because they said hiswife didn't sound that upset
when?

Speaker 3 (07:35):
oh, she didn't, I heard it.
I heard her.
His wife, I heard her shereleased a statement.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Uh, uh, um, talking an audio statement.
It was very, we are very upset.
He was a very generous man.
He was please accept ourprivacy and you can see her

Imagine what life insurance hehas.
And he just made $150 millionon an SEC thing, on allegedly,

(08:06):

(09:07):

Speaker 3 (09:08):
I'm getting good at that, very good.
We're episode like 173.
Wait, can we talk about youopening with the pants?
Sure, I'm going to get a waterbecause I've like caught in the
outfit.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
I'll get you a water.
I'll get you a water.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Wait, is it a new thing now to leave the podcast?
Because you?

Speaker 3 (09:18):
peed during the last episode.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
We're doing the podcast.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
For those of you listening, Periel has gotten off
her chair to kindly get me awater because my mouth is
kicking.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Yeah, but I had to be Leo and I took these water
pills.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Yeah, because we're on a.
Okay, because we're traveling,we're on a plane.
You're in different time zones, you get a little bloaty toady.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
What do water pills do you?

Speaker 1 (09:42):
pee the water out.
I found them from Dina's father.
Dina's father, an older guy,had these water pills.
I'm like, what are these?
He goes, these are water pillsthat make all the water go out
of your body.
I'm like, can I have one?
And I tried it and it's amazing.
It flushes your whole body fullof water.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Wait a second.
Did you just describe Dina'sfather, who usually gets like a
three minute long introductionabout what kind of a rabbi he is
, as a quote unquote older guy.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yes, we're going to guess.
This is exactly what happened.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
By the way, we have a whole thing to tell you about
in Montreal, okay Water pills.
The water pills.
So why were we telling?

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Because you had to pee during the last episode.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
I'm sitting there with Mark Feuerstein and I said
I cannot hold it anymore Becausethese water pills make you pee
a lot.
And I got up and that was Ithink the episode's going to be
called Delft Gay Pishing I haveto go fishing that was a cute
episode.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
It was cute yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
It hasn't aired yet.
Comes out this week.
Comes out this week, okay, okay, wait.
What do you want to talk aboutwas the chicago show with the
pants?
Leo gets on okay.
So leo has two looks.
Leo leo, when he gets dressedthere's two looks he wears,
either he looks like a toddlerclean baby look well, clean baby

(11:01):
, but when you take him out ofthe house, it Take him out of
the house.
Square pants, these overdonesquare pants, and these t-shirts
that are like extra large, soyou don't see the.
Just like a toddler, like alittle.
Okay, I like baggy clothes, baggy clothes, okay.
And the other look is thecaptain of the Czechoslovakian

(11:21):
gymnastics team.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah, I like baggy clothes until I don't, and then
there's like no in between.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
So he had these one pair of horrible pants.
I can't tell you how ugly theywere.
They were these black pants.
They look like if you wereworking in McDonald's.
That's what they give you as auniform.
That's a little much.
Thin little nonsense fabric andit's expensive.
They're from O Officina General, whatever the hell that is.
It's like super, but it's justso baggy and looks so dumb.

(11:51):
I hated it Anyway.
He made that abundantly clear, apparently, so now he walks on
stage to introduce the show.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
In his Officina General.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, so he's deciding whether I'm going to
give it to the audience when Ido my few minute introduction or
I'm just like walking on like astagehand.
So he did the stagehand lookand he's these pants and they're
so thin Now you know, when I goon stage, I have the stage lit

(12:25):
like you could do oral surgery.
So it's just light lit like youcould do oral surgery.
Yes, so it's just light, andnow?
So I'm off, I'm, I'm, I'm inthis, I'm in the wing and I'm
looking out and all you see is Isee leo's profile and the first
five rows of the audience okayand all you can see is leo's
shaft.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
This is a lot.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
I don't know if this is gonna make the cut no pun
intended he didn't realize it,but that light just hits those
pans and it just All you see.
And then I'm looking in thefirst five row and you see women
in their 60s and 70s like thisno way, really Did you notice
that he didn't know.
I swear to you he didn't noticethat.

(13:03):
I swear to you he had no ideathat that was what was going on.
That's amazing.
But the light's so strong andthose pants are so thin.
It's amazing.
And the first five row was justlike what are we looking at?
By the way, the Chicago showswere amazing and people gave us
feedback.
Like did you know how to talkabout how Jews give us feedback.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
And some woman you can tell, or some guy made an
Instagram account to tell meabout what they thought of a
certain joke which I did not notagree with and I took it out.
Okay, well, you should tell useverything certain joke which I
did not not agree with and Itook it out.
Okay, well, it was a good note.
It was this, it was this thisbit I do about like christian
conversion camp stuff, but thenI it's cute and it's bomb, bomb,

(13:47):
bomb.
But then I added a whole otherscene like uh, uh, um, like an
act out scene of if a jewish kidwas at a Christian gay
conversion camp, what it wouldbe like.
But it was too schleppy.
Okay, it was too schleppy.
The show now, by the way, it'scalled Pause for Laughter.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
And it's a different hour than the other hour, so
there are people coming in thereand they're like where's the
Sephardic Ashkenazi material?
I'm like we did that.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
But people want the hits.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
They want the hits, but they're not getting it.
They're getting brand newmaterial in each bit.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
You don't throw in like… I threw one little thing,
I feel like you have to do that.
If you're going to do one, Ifeel like that one is so iconic
for you, which one.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
No, no, no.
This is more this.
This is a show that does notneed to be translated to people
who aren't jewish.
It is a very down the middle, ajewish flavor for sure, but
it's it's well, I for one.
I'm very excited to see thebeacon, to see it at the Beacon.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Where I will be on December 17th.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
You're coming, the 17th.
December 17th, 18th and 19th,17th, 18th and 19th I am
plotting.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
It is so exciting.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
But this will probably air that week.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Oh, that's great.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Isn't that right?
Yeah, this would probably beairing that that week.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
So right now is like we've already done one and if
anybody is trying to get ticketsand can't get them, I am
willing to scalp mine for abouta thousand dollars a ticket.
I do have very good seats.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
yeah, so another thing we did on the road was
very bad, so we were in Montreal.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Wait, so start.
So you guys have been.
I haven't seen you in like amonth.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
A month, yeah, you guys look great.
We've been on the road.
We never did like when we're onthe road for like three weeks
in a row, you know living out ofa suitcase.
It wasn't as bad as I thoughtit was going to be.
It was pretty bad.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
It was pretty bad Was it.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Are you tired?

Speaker 3 (16:03):
For me you're fine, you're a trooper, why?

Speaker 2 (16:09):
He loves being on the road.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Yeah, Give me a hotel , greet him on a stage.
That's all I need.
Yeah, that's all he needs.
Yeah, but Leo it's harder.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
You're so much younger too Like you should be
Okay.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
I know, but I'm not.
I like my shower, my bed and mylaundry machine.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Although we've had some amazing suites, oh I have
no doubt We've had some amazingsuites and it's fun to go.
Then we open the door and yousee how big it is, and leo did a
whole video of me singingcantorial music in the shower
and people loved it and peoplestarted to quote him halachas,
like yeah, and he said if youquote me, if you quote me the

(16:52):
the laws of singing in theshower, I will block you If
Moni's singing in the shower, that's what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
That is so funny.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
What's the hardest part of traveling for you?
Sleeping the routine.
You have an early flight, youhave a late flight, but that's
funny because you're a tourist.
You're more like routinefocused than I am, but when we
travel I'm like, oh I just bang, boom, go up, show the airplanes
.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
it's so much.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
What was the most fun show.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Montreal shows are amazing.
Montreal shows were just onfire.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
And then we had this Denver show.
We were in Denver at theParamount and like the hour
really came together and Leoslayed the house down boots, he
did crowd work and he did, hekilled it.
Wow, I had a tea.
Leo had to start doing comedylike without that.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
I'm not doing comedy, pause, okay.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Leo had to do stage, get on stage, public speaking,
public speaking.
But he didn't have that eightyears of to be like doing open
mic.
So I gave him a few tips whatto do with the mic, and never to
put your hand up, because thelight's in your eye, little
things like that.
And then he just slowedeverything down and it's like

(18:24):
again, he's the producer ofthese shows.
Without Leo, there's nobody inthose seats, there's no clink to
hit.
I'm buying a ticket.
That wouldn't be happening,okay.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
And so why is this?

Speaker 3 (18:40):
uh, that's usually when I go.
Are there any podcast fans here?

Speaker 2 (18:43):
and I look but why are you saying not to put why
it's a?

Speaker 1 (18:46):
horrible thing to do it's to block your light.
What I'm doing people whoaren't watching this I'm putting
my hand like I'm saluting, butit's to block the light so you
can see when the sun.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
I'm asking because I've done saluting, but it's to
block the light so you can see,Like when the sun I'm asking
because I've done this on stagethat it's like you're blocking
the sun.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
It's hard not to what .
It's hard not to when thelight's in your eye.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
But I've also learned from him.
He's also told me other thingsnot to do on stage, which I did.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Like I lean back against the wall and I put like
my foot up against the wall andhe was like don't do that,
Because you're not waiting for abus.
You're doing a comedy show.
Yeah, there's little things thatshow that you have confidence
on stage and that, and puttingthat thing up, it's like you
don't know how to work with alight.
You are on stage, there's theselights blinding you.
Deal with it, good Period.
Good Deal with it period.
And if you, and if they, andeven if you do see your hand go
up, what's that gonna do youmake?
Let me talk to you.

(19:37):
No, no, no wait, what was theother one we had?
Um?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
wait, so Montreal.
So you did what, and he slayed.
What did you do what?

Speaker 1 (19:46):
he slayed in Denver more than anything in Denver
he's like doing.
There's a woman who likeorganized, a woman who's a real
bring the friend to the comedyshow.
Uh, she brought a whole bunchof people and she, she came to
see us in la.
Her name is beverly and leogave a shout out to her and
spoke to her from that crowd.
It was so sweet.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
No, but he also at that point I had, he had been
giving me a lot of notes andhe's like you need to slow down,
you need to slow down, you needto slow down.
So then in denver I reallyslowed down, but then I slowed
down so much that I lost mytrain of thought because he had
to hop on the voice of god, mike, and he just started talking
like he goes look how cute he islike the whole crowd is

(20:26):
laughing.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
I was like no, because I knew, because he has a
line about like uh, I, whathappened was?
He slowed down and he polishedin the laughs.
Yeah, he's like, oh, that'swhat laughter feels like.
This is great.
I forgot what I have to say.
Yeah, that's that's exactlywhat happened.
You were polishing in the, inthe, in the laughter, and then I

(20:48):
go and maybe you want to talkabout the dms, and then he goes
oh, yeah, and uh, so good.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
How long are you on stage for Like?

Speaker 3 (20:57):
two minutes, not even , not even two minutes.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
Not even two minutes.
I was like thinking 10, 15minutes, it's so perfect, it's
so perfect.
It's great, I love it.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
It's so perfect.
I cannot wait for the beaconand the other.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
We had, yeah, we're all over the place here.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Denver was amazing.
I cannot tell you the peoplethat came to Denver, they all
drove two and a half miles totwo and a half hours.
No one's from Denver.
I'm from Fort Dead and ValleyVu and Valley Zuby and Forest
Hill and Forest Mully and ForestVest and we drove two and a
half hours.

(21:34):
I'm like, oh my God, thank you.
I don't know if I would drivetwo and a half hours to see it.
I'm like, oh my God, thank you.
I don't know if I would drivetwo and a half hours to see me,
but they were great, they wereamazing.
The theater was beautiful.
The Paramount Theater wasamazing.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Whoa.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
And then I want to talk to her about me meeting
that rabbi Go ahead.
This is going to really okay.
Me meeting that rabbi Go ahead, this is going to really Okay.
So now we're in Montreal and wehave Shabbat dinner with
Liebermans Lorne, and Lorneasked me if I wanted to meet the
Tosh Rebbe.

(22:08):
The Tosh Rebbe, she's a Rebbe,okay.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
What is the Tosh?

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Okay.
So, as we told you before, inthe hasidic world is from every
different town, there was arabbi.
So this is a rabbi that came toamerica and he went to montreal
, built his community and movedhis community out of mont, like
40 minutes north of Montreal.

(22:36):
He was a big, big rabbi.
He passed away and his son nowis the Rebbe.
So Lorne says to me after yourshow tomorrow on Saturday night,
do you want to go meet theTosha Rebbe?
I can arrange an appointmentfor us.
You can't just go there andmeet him.
You just you know, and so we goto meet him.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
um, we drive 40 minutes north of montreal, okay
we get to a town, is that like10 o'clock at night?
You got off stage.
Yeah, I got off stage this isso insane I did not go I

Speaker 1 (23:09):
was just about leo did not go and and who is this?

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Lorne Lieberman person.
This is somebody you know who's.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Lorne Lieberman Haya Lieberman's husband.
That's who Lorne Lieberman is.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
But this is like a person you know, like you're
friends with, yeah you know theLiebermans are like the family
in Montreal.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
They're the nicest people in the world.
They're real chesed people.
They're real charitable andsuccessful.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Okay, fine, but this is a friend of yours or this is
some random person who's like doyou want to meet this rabbi?

Speaker 1 (23:40):
If I'm having Shabbat dinner in his house, it's a
friend.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Well, I don't know.
You're driving 40 miles northto see.
Okay, go ahead.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
So Shabbat dinner was Friday night, saturday, he
didn't come to the show becausehis wife is an availis, a who
exactly keep it going, keep itgoing.
His, his wife couldn't see theshow because her father has
passed away between the within ayear socially.
And so he says after the showdo you want to go see the
toshareba?
This would be like 11 o'clockat night, okay, driving all the

(24:10):
way out into a community of 500families, okay I can't of
chassidim.
So imagine you're going into awilliamsburg, a williamsburg of
of of of montreal.
We pull up there and all youjust see is chassidim right, and
we get to where his house isand they bring us us into a room

(24:34):
where it's like a big whitetable and the books all over on
the shelves, and they bring therabbi.
The rabbi in, who's now the sonof the big Toshar rabbi, and he
knows Lorne because they.
And so he asks me it's all inYiddish.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
How old is this person?

Speaker 1 (24:57):
He's like I can't tell they either look 108 or
like 78.
He's younger than like hisfather.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
He's younger than his father.
Good, His father lived forever.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
But he's like I would say, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Okay, in his 70s or 100s, something like that.
Somewhere he's a white beard, Idon't know.
Okay, in his 70s or 100s.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Something like that.
He's a white beard, the big furhat.
The pageantry was great, okay.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
He came with the white kapota.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
He has his gabai.
Eli was there, his secretary.
And so we sit there, me andLorne are sitting there at the
two ends by the head of thetable.
They bring him in, we stand up,we speak, and he knows lorne
and lorne's helped him withstuff, and um, so he goes.
Oh, so, who do I have who?

(25:45):
Who, who have you brought here?
So right away, I'm not going tosay I'm a comedian modi, I say
I'm the adopted son of dina'sfather, rabbi Yisrael Yaakov
Gross, rebbe Yoichal of Karestir, the oldest living relative of
the Karestir Rebbe.
So he's like oh, I know him.
And he explains how he knowshim, and they all go to where

(26:07):
they know him, and his fatherknew him and him and him and him
and him and him and him.
Boom.
Then he goes and what do you do?
I said I'm a comedian, I uh,I'm uh, I tell jokes to jewish
people are not jewish people.
And then lorne goes.
He just did a show now for notfor 900 people, and then we
began talking a little bit andand this and that, and he's like

(26:28):
finding out, and like so that'sall you do, you're a comedian.
And he said in a very nice wayin Yiddish I'm in appreciation
of sitting with somebody who canget people together to be happy
and laugh, and I wish you muchsuccess.
Then he turns to his secretary, makes a moment like this with

(26:51):
his eyes and the secretary saysthe rabbi would like to speak
with lorne alone.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
But what did he tell you about separate seating,
though?

Speaker 1 (27:00):
oh, so like he was, like he was like wait can you
say that in yiddish what he?
Said, because he said thiswhole thing is in yiddish the
whole thing was in yiddish andyour yiddish is good enough and
then me and lorne had toafterwards like figure out the,
the words we were missing.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
That's unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
He's pretty good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So it's a no.
So say it and get it.
So no, he said that I've beenvery good with Lorne, which is
like okay, lorne is a moreaffluent, rich person.
He's got more to talk to himabout than me doing jokes at the
end, you know what I'm saying.

(27:39):
He's like that was very nice tomeet.
You Beat it.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
I want to talk to Lorne.
It was like in the Crown whenshe pushes the little button,
I'm getting this appointmentonly because of Lorne.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
I'm not coming in there because I'm a real estate
developer.
I'm going to help him out withhis community real estate
developer.
I'm going to help him out withhis community.
This is outrageous, but thatwas the best part, though, cause
then I went outside and for ahalf hour I spoke to his
secretary who lives in thecommunity, eliezer, and he was
so sweet and I found out allabout what's going on in the
community and and all of this, and it was such an amazing event

(28:10):
to be able to experience and umokay, I have so many questions,
but first can you address whatLeo said about the seating?
Oh so, so he's, you know.
So here he is, this big rabbiof the most Orthodox and he goes
and your shows it's separateseating.
I said no and um, I was goingto be like yeah, no, I was like

(28:35):
no, it's not separate seating, and he goes.
He wanted to show that he'sprogressive, he goes.
Maybe you make one section thatis available for separate
seating.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Oh, that's nice.
Yeah, it was his attempt to belike he doesn't get what this
show is.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
When I explained to him that non-Jews come to the
show, he goes.
You have non-Jews at the show.
He was like in shock.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
And it was a great.
Did you tell him about Leo'sthin pants?

Speaker 1 (29:02):
I did not tell him about Leo's thin pants.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
That definitely does not have that never came up.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
He didn't ask me, does not?
have a hex shirt he never askedme about my wife or my children
or my anything.
He asked about what I do.
He wished me much success, myconnection to the Kereshti Rebbe
, and that's it.
And then he wanted to talk toLorne about things he needs from

(29:27):
Lorne, whatever.
And I had a half hour with thesecretary outside talking to him
and got the neighbor.
Then we drove all the way backwhere his father's Buried.
They have this like I don't seethe word mausoleum, but this
beautiful where his grave is andit's open 24 hours and lit and
you know all marble and I put aprayer.

(29:48):
For I put a prayer.
I've been putting prayers frommy fans slash community.
I feel like my fans are notjust the fans, they're also a
community and that's.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
That's really sweet.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
What is this guy doing up at 11 o'clock at night?
They?

Speaker 1 (30:05):
don't sleep.
Hasidic people don't sleep.
There's no hours, there's no.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Why.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
The only thing that tracks their day is the fact
that there's a morning service,an afternoon service and an
evening service, but otherwisethey do not sleep, they're up,
they have engagement parties, weddings, sheva Brachas, you
know, they're never sleeping, they're always Really.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
How could you pass up an opportunity?

Speaker 1 (30:34):
God, Leo did not come to this To go land on the moon
like this Leo did not.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
This was not a place for Leo to go to First.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
of all his Yiddish is not up to par.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
I feel like I don't know.
I don't know, Could I handlethis?

Speaker 1 (30:49):
My jaw would be You'd be annoying, you would be
annoying, you would be annoying, you would just annoy him and he
wouldn't meet with you likethat.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Why not?

Speaker 1 (30:59):
I don't think he… no, he would, he would.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
If my last name was Lieberman.
No, but like… Because hedoesn't meet with women.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
He does meet with women.
He does, he does, yeah, yeah,he does.
So it's….

Speaker 2 (31:10):
He wouldn't even meet with you.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
It's amazing.
But it was great and thepicture of me and him went super
, super viral in the Hasidiccommunity and I'm honored.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
That's very sweet.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
It was a very nice, and now.
So now, me and Lorne, having sofirst time I was in Montreal a
while back.
He brought me to meet RabbiPinto.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
This other, oh Rabbi Pinto.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
So then, when I was in California, when I was in
Miami, I brought Lorne to meetDina's father, another Rebbe.
So now he brought me to meetthis, the Tosha Rebbe, and now I
have to find another Rebbe tobring him.
We're trying to one out eachother.
It's great, it's great.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Look at how much joy this brings him.
It's great.
It's great.
Look at how much joy thisbrings him.
It's amazing.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
I was.
It took me a few days torealize like what really
happened in the meeting and whathe said, and me and Lorne, like
when he said this, what didthat mean?
And it was like it was a moment.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
So now you have to find another rabbi.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Isn't there like a list of?
I mean, I'm sure you know whowould know who Mendy?

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Mendy who.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Mendy, mendy, torski yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Yeah, he's not bringing me to.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
No, but he probably knows who all of these people
are.
I know who they are too.
You know who they are too, Iwant to.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
It has to be it has to be a organic way to meet the.
But this big big, this big big, this is, it's a, it's a big,
it's a big schut.
Honor, honor, yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
It's a big schut to do that.
Listen, I I think it's great.
It's a big screw to do that.
Listen, I think it's great.
I'm very happy that, like inbetween gallivanting around the
world and doing these shows thatyou're getting to meet.
Did we lose our engineer?

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Engineer and Leah both left.
Now it's me and you rogue overhere.
