Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hello and welcome to my podcast, andrea TLC, in which
TLC stands for the Life Coach, which TLC stands for the Life
Coach.
I am your host, andrea, andthank you for joining me here on
Andrea TLC.
I hope that we all beenpracticing our one hour self

(00:36):
care.
I know I have, and, yes, I hadto double a day because I missed
a day of doing my hour, but Idid, I did go back and I did two
hours.
So I am holding myselfaccountable and I hope you are

(00:57):
doing the same as well.
We're going to hold each otheraccountable.
Remember, we're doing thisjourney together, each other
accountable.
Remember, we're doing thisjourney together.
So, with that being said, Iwant to continue on doing the
self care, and this one is aboutmaking ourself a priority.

(01:18):
It's very essential for us tomaintain balance and well-being.
So I have a few ways that I'mthat I want to talk about.
I have a few ways that I wantto talk about how we can make
ourselves a priority, okay.
And so the first one I'm goingto I'm going to talk about is

(01:43):
setting boundaries.
So if you've been following mypodcast, you know that there's
an episode where I do talk aboutsetting boundaries.
It is okay to say no?
Okay, because if you don't setboundaries, other people will
not and they will consistentlystep over a boundary.
They will always step over aboundary because they can, and

(02:05):
we don't want that.
So it's okay to say no topeople and activities that just
drain your energy.
Okay, setting a boundary.
What it does, it protects yourtime and your mental health Okay
.
So that's why it's very, veryimportant to set these

(02:26):
boundaries.
You know that it's somethingthat's going to just drain you
to death.
It's okay to say no, okay.
The next one, of course againas we've been doing last week,
is practicing self care.
Yes, we're going to dedicateeach day to an activity that

(02:47):
focuses on our mind, body andsoul, whether that means
meditation, exercise, doing ahobby that you like or love.
Maybe you love it and it's fine.
Whatever that means, even if itmeans just relaxing in a nice
bath, you know we're going totake that time to focus on

(03:10):
ourself.
Me time Okay.
We're going to use this time torecharge and focus on just
things that makes that brings usjoy, relaxation and peace.
That's all we're.
Also, there's the nourishing ofour bodies, so you know we have
to eat healthy.

(03:30):
Look, I'm guilty of that too, sometimes, or whatever, I like
to go eat at the fast foodrestaurant or whatever.
I mean, that's fine to cheat, but we're not talking about that
right now.
We're talking about how to doit healthy in within ourself,

(03:51):
okay.
So, yes, again, I practiceeating healthy, staying hydrated
, and here's here's one that wedon't really think about Getting
enough sleep.
That is very, very important.
We have to get enough sleep.
Okay, I know, we're out here,we're working these jobs and you

(04:15):
know, sometimes it's just itfeels like we just we can't get
enough rest.
But we got to do it, we got tobe.
We have to find a way to justget enough sleep.
Okay, and here's a big one.
Here's a real, real big one.
You just can't do any of thesethings, in which I hope that you
can at least do the one hourfor yourself.

(04:37):
Here's, here's here's a goodone right here.
Just surrounding yourself withpositive people, being in a
positive environment.
Try to surround yourself withpeople who support you and
uplift you, encourage you.
We just need that, okay, wejust we need supportive,

(05:01):
positive people in our life.
Try to stay away fromnegativity and negative people,
negative environment.
That just ruins yourself-esteem and drain your
energy.
We just we don't want that, wedon't need it, we don't.
We don't want that, we don'tneed it.
We don't want that in our life.
We just really need to get awayas far away as you can from

(05:27):
that kind of stuff.
We're only trying to be aroundpositive people, people who love
us and support us.
Those are the people that youwant to surround yourself with.
At least do that.
But I also want you to practicethe rest of it.
You know the whole eatinghealthy and exercising and

(05:52):
staying hydrated.
Yes, we have to do all thosethings and yes, we have to set
aside boundaries, but also weneed to also set aside a time
for ourself, and I gave a, Igave a time of one hour.
If you go over that hour, that's.

(06:14):
That's perfect.
If you can, if you can do morethan an hour, perfect.
If you can, if you can do morethan an hour, just at least an
hour, okay.
And no, I'm going to say itagain, I said it last week and
I'm going to say it again If youown your job and you get an

(06:36):
hour lunch, that does not count.
I mean it.
Y'all that don't count.
This has to be your hour.
You're not at work, work.
You are at your own leisure, atyour, at your house.
Maybe that hour is going to thestore, and no, you can't go to
the grocery store for an hourtrying to pick out things that
you need.
No, you can go to the grocerystore just to look around.

(07:00):
You're not in a rush to doanything.
Just you know.
Sometimes I like going to thegrocery store and just you know,
finding what's different, notnecessarily because I have to be
in and I have to be out.
We're not doing that.
We're going to do something foran hour that is just solely for

(07:20):
us.
A person that likes to take awalk, you know, even if you just
like to sit outside, and youknow, on your porch or whatever
it is that you do that you findpeaceful.
That's what I want you to dofor that one hour.
I want you to do that for onehour.
I want you to surround yourselfwith positive people.

(07:41):
I want you to stay hydrated, eat healthy.
Okay, I know that one might bea little shaky there, but we're
going to try it, okay.
So let's continue to makeourselves, you and me a priority

(08:04):
.
Until next time.
Peace, love and light you.
