“Aotearoa’s Opportunity” is a podcast developed by the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions to explain Fair Pay Agreements and the exciting opportunity that they present for everyday working people. Everyday workers will talk about the issues they face within their industries, and discuss the potential of Fair Pay Agreements to help fix some of Aotearoa’s most urgent issues. All views expressed on the podcast are the opinions of the interviewees, and not necessarily the opinion of their union, the NZCTU, or their employer.
This is the last episode of Aotearoa’s Opportunity and in it we document the final days of the Fair Pay Agreements Act including a petition of 15,000 signatures being presented to parliament; calling on the government to reconsider the repeal of the legislation, heated debates from parliament and the Stand up for Fair Pay Protest on the parliamentary lawn.
