What does it truly mean to be a son of God rather than just a servant? In this powerful episode of Apostolic Mentoring, Pastor Powell from Texas delivers a kingdom-shaking message that challenges believers to step beyond servanthood into the fullness of divine sonship.

Drawing from Romans 8:19, Pastor Powell reveals how all creation eagerly awaits the manifestation of God's sons—believers who understand their true identity and authority. The distinction isn't merely semantic; it fundamentally transforms how we approach our relationship with God and our mission in the world.

Through biblical examples and personal insights, Pastor Powell unpacks three vital components of authentic sonship: submission, ownership, and favor. Submission isn't a restrictive concept but the very foundation that connects us to spiritual authority. Ownership moves us beyond waiting for instructions to recognizing needs and taking initiative. Favor encompasses the blessings and authority that come with our position as royal children.

One of the most striking revelations shared is how adopted children legally have stronger inheritance rights than natural-born children—a powerful picture of our grafted position in God's family. We aren't second-class citizens in the Kingdom but fully entitled heirs with direct access to the throne room.

This message arrives at a crucial moment for the global church. As Pastor Powell emphasizes, "Don't wait for the perfect time. The fields are already white and ready for harvest." The world doesn't belong to darkness but has been given to God's children as an inheritance—we simply need to rise up and take possession through prayer, fasting, and bold action.

Ready to stop living like a slave and start walking in the authority of sonship? This episode will equip you to lift your head high and embrace your true identity as a child of the King, positioned with purpose and empowered to transform your world.

We love to hear from our listeners! Thank you!

Amen.
Thank you for welcoming me.
I feel, the presence of God andI feel the camaraderie in this
group already.
I mean, I love BrotherRobinette, love his family, love
everything about this man.
I want to read a scripture tous today.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Romans, chapter 8, verse 19.
The scripture says for theearnest expectation of the
creature, waiteth for themanifestation of the sons of God

(13:51):
.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
You said chapter 8.
What is the?

Speaker 3 (13:55):
verse Romans, chapter 8, verse 19.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Okay, romanos, capítulo 8, verso 19.
Y dice la escritura de estamanera 8, verse 19.
And the scripture says in thisway because the burning desire
of creation is to await themanifestation of the children of
God.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
The scripture is saying that even creation itself
is yearning, it is groaning forthe manifestation of the sons
of God.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
The scripture tells us at this moment that even the
earth nature groaning for themanifestation of the sons of God
.
What I want to talk to us todayabout is sonship.
Quiero hablarles a ustedes eneste día.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Specifically sonship, as it applies in the kingdom of
God.

Speaker 2 (14:53):

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Let me build a foundation for this for you
today.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Build a foundation for this foryou today.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
John, chapter 15, jesus talks about us becoming
the sons of God.
He says I will no longer callyou servants.
Galatians, chapter 4 and verse7.

(15:31):
The Apostle Paul said whereforethou art no more a servant.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
But a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through
Christ.
The Apostle John said in John, chapter 1, that he came to his
own, but his own received himnot but as many as received him,

(16:21):
to them gave he power to becomethe sons of God, that is our
calling, saints of the livingGod.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
That is our calling saints of the living God.

Speaker 2 (16:30):

Speaker 3 (16:33):
To become sons of God .

Speaker 2 (16:36):
De ser hijos de Dios.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
We are not meant to be servants, not meant to be
slaves not meant to be servantsnot meant to be slaves, but sons
.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
I want to highlight the differences, just for a few
moments, between slavery andsonship.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Think with me, if you can.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Use your imagination and think of an ancient kingdom.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
There's only one king in the kingdom.
There's only one king in thekingdom, there's only one throne
in a kingdom and one that sitson that throne.
But the king has sons thatoperate within his kingdom.
He also has servants we wouldcall them slaves that all

(17:50):
operate at his bidding.
But the difference in slavesand sons is all about
relationship.

Speaker 2 (18:06):

Speaker 3 (18:14):
If we are not careful , we can't operate in the
kingdom of God in this mentalityof slavery in this mentality of
slavery.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
We see this come out even in our churches.
It is a mentality of what do Ihave to do?
What is the bare minimum I haveto do?
What can I get away with andstill make heaven?

Speaker 3 (19:06):
That is the mentality of slavery.
I will do what he tells me andnothing more.
I will do what the kingcommands, but nothing else.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
I will do what the king commands, but nothing else.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
The attitude, the mindset of a son is completely
different.

Speaker 2 (19:33):

Speaker 3 (19:38):
A son serves because of love and because of passion.

Speaker 2 (19:42):

Speaker 3 (19:46):
A son serves, just like a servant or a slave serves
.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
esclavo.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
But it is from a completely different place.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Pero completamente en una perspectiva diferente.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
A son has the ear of the king.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
El hijo tiene el oído del rey.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
A son gets to go in and out of the throne room at
will.

Speaker 2 (20:15):

Speaker 3 (20:20):
The son knows the plans and the thoughts of the
king.
The son knows the plans and thethoughts of the king.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Apostolic mentoring this is what God is calling his
church to become.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
His hands and his feet, his operators in the
kingdom of God, that we wouldtake up the will of God and we
would take it on ourself andbegin to operate on his and with

(21:03):
his authority.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
I want to talk about three different aspects of
sonship today.
You see, because sonship isreally all about alignment.
I've got to be aligned with myfather.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
You can be a son and be in rebellion.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Or you can be a son and be in complete alignment, as
Jesus gave us the prime examplein his prayer Matthew, chapter
6.
He said our Father, which artin heaven?

(22:08):
This is about alignment.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
This makes him right out the gate my headship
Positioning myself under.
Him as a son.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
So three aspects that I would like to talk to us in
sonship are submission andownership and favor.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
What was the third?

Speaker 3 (22:56):
one Favor.
A true son, a genuine son, willbe submitted to the Father.
A true son will be submitted tothe Word of God to the word of.

(23:23):
God will be submitted to thewill of God and will be
submitted to the man of God.
Submission is a key componentof sonship.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Submission is not a dirty word in the kingdom of God
.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
So many people hear the word submission and they
cringe.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
But submission is about power operating in the

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Ephesians, chapter 5, tells us that we are to be
submitted one to another.

Speaker 2 (24:28):

Speaker 3 (24:34):
James, chapter 4 tells us that we are to be
debemos de estar sometidos aDios to be submitted to God.
Hebrews chapter 13 tells usthat we are to obey them that
have rule over us.

Speaker 2 (24:50):

Speaker 3 (24:58):
To submit ourselves to those that keep watch over
our souls, those that giveaccount for us.
This is why, church, it is soimportant for us to have
spiritual authority in our lives.

(25:20):
I am a pastor.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
I pastor a church in New Waverly, texas, but I also
have a pastor and I am a bigproponent of having a pastor in
your life, no matter what.
Having someone that can give anaccount for you will always

(26:06):
benefit your own spiritual life.
I've heard it said like this Ifyou don't have someone that can
tell you no, you don't reallyhave a pastor.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
You can call somebody pastor, but unless they can
correct you and align you, they're not really your pastor.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
A true, son is not really your pastor, pero a menos
no tienes pastor.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
A true son is submitted to the authority of
God.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Those that can say you'remessing up, you're doing wrong
you need to get back to thestraight and narrow path.
The Apostle Paul said follow meas I follow Christ.

(27:14):
Jesucristo.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Being in and operating under submission gives
us spiritual authority.
As sons, I feel like.
As the church, we must oftenremind ourselves that we live in

(27:40):
a kingdom.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Nosotros, como hijo, constantemente tenemos que ser
recordados que vivimos en unreino.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
The kingdom of God has one king and one throne.

Speaker 2 (27:54):

Speaker 3 (27:58):
But God operates in order and in decorum.
I hate to be the bearer of badnews this morning, but we are
not all equal in the kingdom.

Speaker 2 (28:18):

Speaker 3 (28:27):
We are all equal in opportunity.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Todos somos iguales en la oportunidad.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
But we are not all equal in position and authority.

Speaker 2 (28:36):

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Let me give you an example of this.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
Déjame darte un ejemplo de esto.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Jesus had 70 ministers that he sent out that
operated under him.

Speaker 2 (28:50):

Speaker 3 (28:57):
But he also had 12 disciples that he surrounded
himself with.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Pero también tenía 12 discípulos que estaban
alrededor de él, but he also had12 disciples that he surrounded
himself with.
And of those 12, he had threethat were his inner circle.
This is just an example of therank and file in the kingdom of

(29:24):
God.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
The story of the talents, where Jesus said the
kingdom of heaven is like.

Speaker 2 (29:35):

Speaker 3 (29:41):
The master brought his servants together, gave one
servant five talents.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
varios talentos.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
He gave another two and he gave another one.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
A otro le dio dos y al otro le dio un talento.
Wait a minute, that's not fairY tú piensas un momento eso.
No, es fair.
Why did I get one and he gotfive?

Speaker 3 (30:12):
The kingdom of God is not the kingdom of man.
The kingdom of man would makeall equal.

Speaker 2 (30:23):

Speaker 3 (30:27):
But the kingdom of God divides according to our
several ability.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
individuales.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
I don't need to worry myself about who's in front of
me or who's behind me.

Speaker 2 (30:46):

Speaker 3 (30:51):
I must begin to operate as the centurion that
Jesus met of great faith.

Speaker 2 (30:58):

Speaker 3 (31:04):
He said, lord, I'm in authority of great faith.
He said, lord, I'm in authoritybut I'm under authority.
Submission and sonship is whatlinks us to those ahead and
behind in the kingdom of God.

Speaker 2 (31:23):

Speaker 3 (31:31):
When we are operating in a perfect submission.
Cuando nosotros estamosoperando en una sumisión
perfecta we are covered andprotected because we are linked
together.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Estamos completamente protegidos porque estamos en
una línea completamentealineados.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Now, rebellion is the perfect antithesis of
submission.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
opuesto Rebellion is humannature of submission.
Rebellion is human nature.
Rebellion is I will not haveanyone over me.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
I will be my own king .

Speaker 2 (32:23):
I will be my own king .
I will be my own leader.
We see this perfectlyillustrated in the parable of
the prodigal sons.
One, the younger son, came tohis father and said give me

(32:43):
everything.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
I don't want to serve in your household.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
I don't want to serve in your home.
The father gives him and, ofcourse, we all know the story.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
He takes and squanders all that he has living
in rebellion.

Speaker 2 (33:04):

Speaker 3 (33:10):
By the grace of God, he comes home, having come to
his senses.

Speaker 2 (33:14):

Speaker 3 (33:20):
He says I'm just going to be satisfied to be a
slave in my father's household.
But the father says, no, not aslave, a son.
Go get a cloak, Go get thesignet ring.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Go get a cloak.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Go get the signet ring.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Kill the fatted calf.
My son has returned.
But, we see the elder brotherout in the field throwing a pity
molesto.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
He says to the father I've been faithful all these
years.

Speaker 2 (34:09):

Speaker 3 (34:13):
But I've never had a feast, I've never had a party.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Pero yo nunca me has hecho una comida, nunca he
tenido una fiesta.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
And notice what the father says to the eldest son.

Speaker 2 (34:24):

Speaker 3 (34:28):
He says all that I have is thine.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Dice todo lo que tengo es tuyo.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
It was already yours to begin with.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Ha sido tuyo siempre.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
para empezar, Both sons in this story have been out
of the will of God.
This leads us directly into ournext point, and that is
ownership.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
You see the eldest son.
pertenecemos.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
You see, the eldest son was submitted to the father
but never took ownership.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Yes, we must be submitted tothe word of God, the will of God
and the man of God, but we alsomust walk in ownership of the

(35:36):
kingdom of God.
Slaves wait to do what they'retold to do, but a son sees the
need and acts accordingly.
A true son will always workharder than a servant or a slave

(36:02):
.
Because he has ownership in thekingdom of God.
He has skin in the game.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
I feel like the Lord wants that for his church
globally wants that for hischurch globally.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
So long church we have operated in submission
under God, but now it is thetime for us to step into

(36:45):
ownership.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
To walk in the authority of God.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
To carry out.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
His plan.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
This is the will of God for this church in this last
day that we begin to do thewill of the.
Father To be about our Father'sbusiness, to have the attitude

(37:16):
of Caleb, give me this mountain.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
I've already got the deed.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
I've already got the promise.
Now I've got to go and possessthe land.
I've got to be the boots on theground.
It's time church family to takeownership of our household to

(38:00):
take ownership of ourneighborhood to take ownership
of our city.
The scripture says the gates ofhell shall not prevail.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
But the gates are sure and steadfast when.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
I'm not pushing against them.
Sure and steadfast, when I'mnot pushing against them.
When I'm not doing the work, the gates are just fine.
When I'm not taking authorityand dominion, in my city the

(38:46):
strong man has the rule.
As sons of God, we walk in theauthority of the Most High.
The same promise applies to thekingdom of God today.

(39:06):
Everywhere your foot treads, Iwill give you dominion.
But I've got to start walking.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
I've got to put action to the promise.
I know what my father wants.
Done he doesn't even have totell me to do it.
I'm submitted to the father.
I'm walking in authority of theFather, so I can now go out and

(39:48):
do the will of the Father.
You know, too often we sitaround waiting for it to fall in
our lap too often we sit aroundwaiting for it to fall in our
lap.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
We pray, oh Lord, open the door, but we've already
been given the keys to the door.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
So many times I feel like God is just saying open the
door yourself.

Speaker 2 (40:23):

Speaker 3 (40:28):
You've been given the keys of prayer and fasting,
study and faith.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
puedas estudiar.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Put your spiritual boots on and go and take your
city.
Have a prayer meeting, call afast, operate in faith, go ye,

(41:01):
therefore, into all the world.
The world is ours, church, itis not the devil's, it is not
culture or society.
It is ours for the taking, butI have got to operate in

(41:29):
ownership in order to take it.
James said we've got to bedoers of the word and not just
hearers.
If there's one thing I feellike the Lord is wanting to

(41:52):
speak to his church globally,it's this.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Don't wait for the perfect time que el Señor le
quiere hablar a su iglesiaglobalmente.

Speaker 3 (42:00):
It's this.
Don't wait for the perfect time.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
No esperes el tiempo perfecto Go now.
Ve ahora.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Go now.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
Ve ahora.
Don't think it's one month, three months or four months for
now.
.

Speaker 3 (42:21):
The fields are already white and ready for now.
The fields are already whiteand ready for harvest.
Walk in submission, walk inownership.
And that will bring you intothe favor of God.

Speaker 2 (42:41):
The last.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Thing that I want to talk about this morning is the
favor of God.
The last thing that I want totalk about this morning is the
favor of God, the favor ofsonship, the son of the king.
Let me tell somebody gets towalk in the favor of the king

(43:06):
let me tell somebody gets towalk in the favor of the king.
You don't have to act like aslave.
You don't have to live like aslave.
You can live like a son of theMost High God.
It is time for the church toarise and step into the favor of

(43:35):
God.
Let me remind somebody thismorning.
We are blessed people.
This is a blessed life.
This is the best life that youcould ever choose to live, and

(43:59):
the Father loves to bless hischildren.
In fact, jesus talks about thisin Matthew, chapter 7.
When he says, if you being goodfathers, if your son asks a

(44:20):
fish, will you give him a rock, and if you're evil and know how
to give good gifts to your son,how much more?

Speaker 2 (44:48):
How much more does your Father in Heaven want to
give good gifts to His childrenthat ask?
How much more does your Fatherin Heaven want to give good
gifts to His children that ask?

Speaker 3 (44:55):
Psalms, chapter 5 says His favor surrounds us like
a shield.
Proverbs, chapter 10 says theblessings of the Lord maketh
rich, and he addeth no sorrowwith it.

Speaker 2 (45:21):

Speaker 3 (45:25):
Deuteronomy, chapter 28.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
En Deuteronomy, chapter 28.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
In fact, let's turn there and read this.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
Y vamos a ir allí y leer este capítulo.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
Deuteronomy, chapter 28, says and it shall come to
pass if thou shalt hearkendiligently unto the voice of the
Lord thy God to observe and todo all his commandments, which I
command thee this day, that theLord thy God will set thee on
high above all the nations ofearth.

Speaker 2 (45:58):

Speaker 3 (46:15):
And all these blessings shall come upon thee
and overtake thee, if thou shalthearken unto the voice of the
Lord, thy God.
Blessed shalt thou be in thecity, and blessed shalt thou be

(46:35):
in the field.

Speaker 2 (46:37):

Speaker 3 (46:42):
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body and the fruit
of thy ground, and the fruit ofthy cattle and the increase of
thy kind and the flocks of thysheep.

Speaker 2 (46:51):

Speaker 3 (47:00):
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
Benditas serán tus canastas y tus arcenas de amasar
.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
Blessed shall thou be when thou comest in and when
thou goest out.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Bendito serás en tu entrar y bendito en tu salir.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
We are called and can operate in a favor everywhere
we go.
As the sons and daughters ofGod, as the children of the king
, we are to operate in favor.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
Some blessings are seen and some blessings are not
seen.
I'm a firm believer inblessings that we don't even
know about.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
The things that God keeps us from, the dangers and
the pitfalls that we don't evenknow God has kept us out of.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
God has kept us out of.

Speaker 3 (48:23):
It is the will of God for the people of God to walk
in his favor.
It doesn't mean we don't haveproblems.
It doesn't mean we don't havetrials and tribulations.

Speaker 2 (48:39):
preocupaciones.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
But we can be an overcomer through it all.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Pero podemos ser victoriosos sobre todo ello.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
Because we are a son of the Most High God.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
Porque somos hijos de Dios Altísimo.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
We are the adopted sons of God.
You know one thing aboutadoption that is so great is
that adopted sons inherit first.
We are those that have beengrafted in.

(49:20):
I have two adopted children andone thing the lawyer told my
wife and I when we adopted, hesaid that if you ever have any

(49:41):
other children, he said I wantyou to know that your adopted
children have a stronger legalclaim to your inheritance.

Speaker 2 (49:53):
He said even if you havenatural born children, they will
not have a stronger claim thanyour adopted son and daughter.
Aun que ustedes tengan hijosbiológicos naturales, no van a

(50:15):

Speaker 3 (50:19):
Church that is us.
We cry Abba, Father, because ofthe spirit of adoption.
He has chosen us.
We don't have to live assecond-rate citizens.

(50:40):
We don't have to walk aroundthinking we're not worthy.
God has placed each and everyone of us in his kingdom To

(51:02):
operate on his behalf.
I just want to encouragesomeone right now Lift your head
high, live as a son and adaughter of a king.
You are a blessed generation.

(51:25):
Step into sonship today, stepinto submission.
Step into submission, step intoownership and walk in the favor
of the Most High God.

(51:45):
You are planted, you arepositioned to reach your world.
Now it's only up to us to goand take it.

(52:06):
The scripture says the kingdomof God suffereth violence, and
the violent take it by force.
I choose today to walk insonship and I encourage each one

(52:32):
of you to do the same.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
Amen.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
Why don't we just lift our hands and begin to
thank God right now for his word?
Lord, I pray that you wouldminister upon us today.
Lord I pray that you wouldspeak to each one of us this
morning.
Allow us, oh God, to operate insubmission and ownership and

(53:01):
favor, In the name of the LordJesus we pray.
Thank you, righteous God, forall that you've done.
Thank you, Lord, for your mercy.
Amen, amen, amen, Amen, amenamen, amen, amen, aleluya.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
Aleluya, praise the Lord.

esta mañana.

Speaker 1 (53:36):
The spirit of revelation and the spirit of
truth is coming forth in thismeeting today.
The spirit of revelation andthe spirit of truth is breaking
the back of the spirit ofdeception.

Speaker 2 (53:55):

Speaker 1 (54:01):
Tú, no eres pequeño y no eres insignificante.

Speaker 2 (54:05):
Tú eres hijo e hija del Dios Altísimo.

Speaker 1 (54:07):
Nosotros clamamos Abba, padre, we've been chosen
by the King Hemos sido escogidospor el Rey.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
I am so just.
My heart is leaping insideright now.

Speaker 1 (54:34):
I had never heard that statement that an adopted
child has more rights than anatural born child.

Speaker 2 (54:44):

Speaker 1 (54:51):
Their legal standing has a higher place.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
los hijos naturales because wewere chosen, selected, grafted
into this body.

Speaker 1 (55:11):
Friends, we are special to the king and we have
a future that is powerful, filled with favor and ownership.

Speaker 2 (55:24):

Speaker 1 (55:30):
Pastor Cook.
Pastor Cook just put in thechat Disney has nothing over the
church.

Speaker 2 (55:36):

Speaker 1 (55:39):
We are legal sons and daughters has nothing over the
church.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
We are legal sons and daughters, we have ownership
rights Y tenemos esa autoridadde poseer a Dios.

Speaker 1 (55:55):
We have rights to favor things that belong to
nobody else belong to us.
Wow, what a word today.
Now get up and do somethingwith it.
Take possession, take ownership, operate in favor.

(56:23):
Don't wait for something to behanded to you.
You've got the keys Unlock it.

Speaker 2 (56:34):
God is for you.

Speaker 1 (56:41):
God is for you and nobody can be against you.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
usted.

Speaker 1 (56:50):
