In Westeuropa und auch in Deutschland mehren sich Ereignisse von Gewalt und Unsicherheit im öffentlichen Raum. Oft haben diese Gewaltakte ein religiöses bzw. islamistisch-terroristisches Motiv. In Großbritannien und Frankreich gab es in den letzten Jahren mehrfach Unruhen und gewalttätige Ausschreitungen. Auch der Nahostkonflikt führt zunehmend zu Radikalisierung junger Muslime.
In Westeuropa leben wir inzwischen in multiethnischen und multireligiösen Gesellschaften und Spannungen zwischen den Religionen und Ethnien scheinen zuzunehmen - manche sprechen bereits von bürgerkriegsähnlichen Zuständen in Frankreich und England. 2 Stimmen aus dem akademischen Bereich, Barbara F. Walter und David Betz warnen vor einer steigenden Bürgerkriegsgefahr in der westlichen Welt, besonders in Westeuropa und in den USA. Wir wollen in dieser Folge sehen welche Hinweise es in der Heiligen Schrift gibt um Gesellschaften stabil und resilient zu machen, damit es nicht zu einem solchen Szenario kommt.
