Summer nights are getting hotter as the Survivor finale approaches, baseball rivalries heat up, and blockbuster season kicks into high gear! Charlie and Tim dive into their final Survivor predictions, debating whether Joe's "winner's edit" means he'll take home the million or if Kyle and Eva still have fighting chances. The hosts analyze last week's shocking tribal council and share excitement for the milestone 50th season, rumored to include fan-favorite returnees.

Baseball takes center stage as the Cubs complete a satisfying sweep of the White Sox, outscoring their crosstown rivals 26-8 despite being out-homered. Meanwhile, the Mets show promise with victories against the Pirates, though their series against the Yankees raises questions about Juan Soto's seemingly diminished hustle since changing pinstripes. The hosts debate whether this is cause for concern or just part of Soto's established playing pattern.

Summer entertainment dominates the second half of the show with a comprehensive preview of upcoming blockbusters. Tom Cruise returns in the long-awaited Mission Impossible sequel, while Tim Robinson teams up with Paul Rudd for what promises to be one of the summer's funniest comedies. Other highlighted releases include the live-action Lilo & Stitch, a new John Wick universe film starring Ana de Armas (which received Cruise's personal endorsement), and Marvel's latest attempt at bringing the Fantastic Four to life.

The conversation wraps with a look at returning television favorites, including Stranger Things' final season and The Bear's highly anticipated new episodes. Charlie admits he's struggled to get into Stranger Things despite multiple attempts, prompting Tim to make a passionate case for giving the show another chance.

Check back next week as baseball season continues and our hosts share their thoughts on Mission Impossible after seeing it opening weekend!

Tim (00:00):
Welcome to Around the Bases , the pop culture and sports
podcast with your host, charlieSeymour, and I'm Tim Sternberg.
Hit it, nick.
We are back.

(00:35):
Hit it, nick.
How's it going, buddy?
Hit it again.
We did it again.
We started this podcast justlike that.

Charlie (00:38):
Again, charlie how's it going?
It's going well.
How are you doing?

Tim (00:40):
good I'm, I can't complain.
You know I love, may you know, summer and when we get start
getting into the summer and Idon't know you know it goes back
to when we were kids and youknow school's almost out and I
don't know when.
When did the schools let out inillinois typically?

Charlie (00:57):
oh, it's all over the place, honestly all over the
place yeah, that's usually likefirst second week of june
interesting.

Tim (01:05):
Yeah, when I was in new york, when I I basically was a
product of the new york citypublic school system, we didn't
get out of school until like theend of june, which was so bad
the end of june, you said end ofjune, dude like the 25th,
usually the.
The positive to that, of course, is that we didn't start school
until the monday after laborday, after labor day.

Charlie (01:26):
Yeah, right so or the tuesday.

Tim (01:29):
So all you get is july and august, basically but I remember
like as clear as day as astudent in june in new york in
brooklyn, like we used to havethese like brown paper towels in
the school.
I don't know if you guys hadthat too.
I literally go to like thewater fountain and just wet them
and plaster them on my headbecause it was so hot.
Um, it's funny.

Charlie (01:49):
I live in florida now so I just wanted to clarify for
the record.
You just asked me if brownpaper towels still existed no, I
mean in schools, when you weregoing to yeah of you, listen
You're a lot younger than me.
Do they not exist today anymore?
That's what I'm.

Tim (02:11):
Wow.
Okay, we're going to have thebrown paper towel, all right.

Charlie (02:17):
No.

Tim (02:17):
I mean in the school.
You know how they have those.

Charlie (02:20):
Yeah, they had it when I was there.
I'm not like 50 years youngerthan you I mean kind of no, it's
kidding.

Tim (02:31):
Listen, I'm giving you credit, I'm giving you some age.
I mean you don't want to rushit um, don't it's take your time
back in, back in my day back inmy day.

Charlie (02:42):
I backed it.
I walked to school uphill threemiles in the snow both ways.

Tim (02:48):
Have you ever seen that segment of Seth Meyers?
Do you watch the Of?

Charlie (02:51):
course, yeah, I do know that.

Tim (02:53):
He has like the back in my day.
It's so funny, anyway, okay, hi, so let's talk.
Let's talk about Survivor.
I saw the funniest meme, uh,today actually it says it was on
some social media platform andit says something about it had a

(03:13):
picture of Mitch, right, and itsaid tell me Mitch isn't just
thinking he's on vacation.
I mean, I don't foresee Mitchgoing far.

Charlie (03:30):
Do you?
No, I think they've wanted tovote him out for a while.
It's just a matter of time asto when.

Tim (03:38):
I do.
I honestly do believe the final.
I have a prediction for thefinal three.
I think it's going to be umkyle, um, his friend I forgot
her name camilla and there'sgonna be kyle camilla and either
joe or eva one is the finalthree yeah, you gotta like it

(04:01):
will you think they gohead-to-head for fire breaking
for that last spot.
I do, I think, I actually thinkCamilla is going to win immunity
, I think, you know, it's alwayssomething interesting at the
end and I think it would bereally great television to see
Kyle and Joe and Eva go for fire.

(04:22):
I don't know how that works, ohno, she would take Kyle, so
then Joe and Eva would go forfire.
Or, I don't know how that works, oh no, she would take kyle, so
then joe and eva would go forfire.

Charlie (04:26):
I don't know so that means you know how my brain
works.
So I now know who you have seeneliminated in the promo, based
off of what you've said so far.

Tim (04:36):
Right, no, I did not say that.
No, no, what are you?
Talking about.

Charlie (04:40):
I didn't spoil it I didn't say you spoiled it.
I'm just saying I'm deductingbased off of what you've said so
far I don't know what you'retalking about.

Tim (04:50):
By the way, what charlie is referring to folks is that
there is a promo out there thatliterally spoils um, spoils the
results for the upcoming episodeso it's, it spoils the.

Charlie (05:04):
So don't watch any promos.

Tim (05:06):
It spoils the next boot and it spoils the immunity.

Charlie (05:10):
Ooh the yikes, I didn't realize it was a double spoil.
Yeah, why did they do?

Tim (05:14):
that I'm not going to say any more because I don't want
you to kill me.

Charlie (05:20):
It's too late, I already figured it out.
That was pretty easy.
I think even you could havedone that math dude.

Tim (05:30):
Wow, what I deserve that.
I deserve it I deserve it um,so yeah, so yeah, there are five
people left and tim named hisfinal four.

Charlie (05:44):
So yeah, I think we can figure out.
No, don't do that to ourlisteners, all right?
All right, don't rewind it,it's already passed they already
forgot it, it's fine.

Tim (05:54):
I won't, I won't mention it again Um so far?

Charlie (05:58):
Yeah, we can talk about last week's episode.

Tim (06:00):
No, definitely.

Charlie (06:18):
So one thing that struck me funny, you know, in
last week's episode is whenShaheen Shaheen was eliminated I
mean eliminatedeen Someonetagged him in it and he thought
it was hilarious, but itbasically was like someone drew
a cartoon and there was aburglar in the house and it said
how to catch Shaheen and hejust started singing the
Survivor song and then Shaheensang it back and said oh crap.

Tim (06:41):
That's amazing.
That's amazing, so like hecouldn't help himself exactly.

Charlie (06:47):
That's hilarious, almost like a marco polo game
that he just had to repeat it uh, if you don't know what we're
referring to, I don't you're notwatching survivor.

Tim (06:57):
Um shaheem has been amusing the whole season and is like uh
, uh, oh, I can't, I don't evenknow, yeah, tribal sounds.
Um it's funny.
Um, I I honestly not surprised,so he I know we we had kind of
chat.

Charlie (07:13):
I was sad to see him go .

Tim (07:15):
You're not surprised though , are you?

Charlie (07:17):
No, not surprised he.
He should have.
He should have reacted betterafter his conversation with Joe,
because he read the situationperfectly and then Joe
completely called the situationperfectly, but they still voted
wrong, which also I want tomention.
How was?

(07:38):
How was the other vote againstagainst him, camilla, when it
was her plan the whole time?
What, what happened?

Tim (07:50):
there what I need to know, what happened there, what, like
when you, I didn't honestly,I'll be honest with you until
you told me I didn't really.
I like watch the previews, butI don't really watch the.

Charlie (08:05):
You know the placards when they show the names and
yeah after at the end of the,the episode's already over, so I
it probably goes unnoticed by alot of people, but I always
like to skip to the end and thensee the who all the votes fell
on, and when I heard it was fourto two, I just assumed that joe
and eva stuck together, andthen the two votes were shaheen

(08:27):
and who was the?
And mitch.
That's what I thought that'swhat I thought too, but it ended
up.
No, it was camilla, which shewas the one who devised this
whole thing to get the voteslike why did she do that?
Like what was the purposebehind?
Why did she do that?
Like what was the purposebehind that?
Unless she was just trying to,maybe she knew it was going to

(08:49):
end up being five to one.
So she threw a hanky vote justto make people go paranoia city
next week.

Tim (08:56):
Yeah, I was going to say do you think maybe she was trying
to shine a light on somebodyelse and yeah, I don't know, it
was weird, weird.

Charlie (09:04):
maybe we'll get clarity on that in the beginning of the
next one?

Tim (09:07):
I hope so.
Um, if not, hopefully jeff willbring it up during the reunion.
Um, that's interesting that yousaw that, because I I totally
missed that.
I didn't see that at all.
Um, yeah, I mean, listen, I Isaid last week last week was
week was the time to get Joe out.
If they're going to get Joe outat this point and plus, now

(09:29):
looking at and this has nothingto do with the trailer spoiler
at all but Joe has been given awinner's edit as far as I'm
concerned.
I mean, no one has had moreconfessionals than he has.
Eva also has been given areally great edit.
Eva also has been given areally great edit and Kyle has
been given a really great edit.
So I don't know If I'm going topredict a final three.

(09:52):
It's going to have two of thosepeople in it for sure.
I don't know how the thirdworks, but yeah and yeah, I
couldn't believe I was watchingthe trailer and I was like,
literally couldn't believe I waswatching the trailer and I was
like, literally, why are theyshowing that person with
immunity necklace on and why?
I'm watching people?
And this is how it's spoiled.
I won't say who, but you're you.

(10:14):
They show people walking totribal and you can clearly see
um uh, shaheen and the personright after him.
Is pretty clear to know whothat is.

Charlie (10:25):
So well then, maybe you didn't see what you thought you
saw, Cause Shaheen's alreadyout.

Tim (10:30):
No, I mean, you know how they show that, the no.
This is from the next tribal, how they show the people going
into tribal like these are thejury members.
Yeah, it was the final tribal,so it shows it into the fire
making challenge of five instreet clothes in the jury.
Yes, yes, very clearly.

(10:50):
So I know who that person iswithout um, yeah, and that's all
I'll say about that have Ispoiled it or have I not confirm
?
we'll reconfirm it next week andif I did spoil it, you're gonna
have, uh, charlie, raking meover the coals next no, I don't,
I don't care um, but uh, yeah,so I mean the season's turning

(11:15):
out to be not as bad as it was,I guess.
I mean, there are greatcharacters being developed.
I, I, I really we talked aboutthis too, right.

Charlie (11:27):
I know what you're going to say.

Tim (11:29):
I really didn't want to root for Joe.

Charlie (11:31):
We didn't want to root for Joe.
No, but he's so likable it'shard not to root for Joe.
How?

Tim (11:35):
could you not like the dude ?

Charlie (11:37):
I know.

Tim (11:38):
The way he's treated, eva, he's just a stand-up guy talking
about his family.
I like the dude.
I usually don't like thebeefheads like that, you know,
the muscle guys.
I don't like them, in completeagreement on that.
But I like him and he's afirefighter.
How could you not like him?

Charlie (11:56):
I mean oh man, it's tough to not root for him right
now.
I also.
I also think kyle kyle'sawesome.

Tim (12:02):
I would love to see kyle win he is smart, holy cow, I
mean he, he is a gamer.
He kind of plays a game I wouldplay, like you know, he thinks
two steps ahead, he analyzeseverything.
Um, yeah, I, I, I am a fan.
I am a fan and eva's fun, but Idon't think she's.
I mean she's won comps, don'tget me wrong, but I don't think

(12:25):
she's done anything realsignificant to push the season
forward.
I mean, I like her moment thatshe had when she was struggling
during the challenge and, assomeone who works with students
with autism, um, I love to seeher battle through that.
I actually talked to a coupleof kids that I work with and
they saw that, and I thinkthat's incredibly, uh huge for

(12:48):
as a role model.
So I love eva, I'm a fan ofhers too, um, but I, as game
wise, I'm kind of rooting forjoe or kyle.
Uh, we'll see how it plays out.
Did you see, though, that I?
I told you the other daysurvivor 49or 49 wrapped?

Charlie (13:04):
You did.
I didn't see it, but I did.

Tim (13:07):
And the rumors are that next week they travel out for
Survivor 50.

Charlie (13:13):
Wow.

Tim (13:14):
Some of the rumored players , some of the people I'm hearing
rumored Rob Marinaro, bostonRob.
I'm hearing again Rob Sistarino.
Rob has a podcast.
It's a rumor, Rumor, that's all.
Sari.

(13:34):
Wow, it's gonna be abic dudeand but we have to wait until
like february of next year.
Rumors are true yeah, becausesurvivor 50 would and 49 would
start to fall and 50 would.
And now people you shared withme and I saw it too that they're
starting to reveal some of thecast members for 49.

Charlie (13:53):
Um, interesting five or six of them now yeah, there's
two sophies apparently.

Tim (13:59):
Um, uh, it's interesting how that that it doesn't get.
Like how, how did they do that?
Like that's crazy to me.
Um, but they do.
Um, apparently they thespoilers already know who's
going to 50 for sure, but theydon't want to release it until
they go out to Fiji.
Hmm, did you vote in the lastvote?

(14:25):
I think I did.
Do you want?
So what would you?
Would you want idols in thegame or not?
I would say no, idol school.
Don't do idols, let them playit out.

Charlie (14:37):
Naturally, I actually kind of like idols.
Yeah, I don't think I like whenthey overdo it, but I always
like one in the beginning, outthere for someone to find it,
and that's how it started.
Yeah, yeah, I could go eitherway on that one, honestly.

Tim (14:57):
I just want to.
I guess I say that because Iwould have liked the season like
kind of just refreshing wherewe don't see that and we see
what they do to compensate fornot having them.
Um, I mean, the shot in thedark too is kind of a game
changer.
So you know, I don't know, I Iwould like.
Honestly, I would love to seethe old school players play in a

(15:18):
new school format, but I wouldlike to see the new school
players play in a new schoolformat, but I would like to see
the new school players play inthe old school format, if you
know what I mean.

Charlie (15:23):
That would be interesting television.

Tim (15:25):
Yeah, so we'll see how it plays out.
I'm excited to see.
You know, 50 is basicallywritten by the fans, so we'll
see how the fans come up with aseason.

Charlie (15:34):
How many more votes are there still?

Tim (15:36):
That's it.
That was it.
That was it.
That's it, yeah.
So we had some good votes andsome good choices that were made
and I think we're going to havea 20-person season.
That's a feeling I have.

Charlie (15:47):
Yeah, I think so too.

Tim (15:49):
It's way too many not to include four more.
So, speaking of also CBSreality Big Brother, finally Big
Brother 27, finally announcedtheir summer premiere date July
10th.
Is going July 10th.
A 90-minute that's a new thingtoo.

(16:11):
A 90-minute Thursday episode,july 10th at 8 o'clock.
It's immediately followed by a90-minute Sunday episode on July
13th and it leads into its90-minute time slot every
Wednesday, meaning the firstweek of the season is going to
be big.
It's paired with the revealthat the season will feature all

(16:31):
new group of house guests.
So no returnees, which I like.
The refreshing new house guests.
I do think the big BBI arena,it.
I do think, uh, I do think thebig BBI arena it's.
It might not be called BBI, butit will come back and that that
aspect I like.
That aspect of the game.
What do you think?
Yeah, yeah.

Charlie (16:53):
That, that was a nice twist.

Tim (16:56):
Uh, there's also a new thing coming, and you remember
there was an episode in it lastseason when they had um taylor,
um, I forget, they had three, three former players come back,
basically, and sit there and goover the week I think that was a
pilot episode of this new twistyeah, you're probably right

(17:17):
about that.
What do you think about that?
I mean more filler, it seemslike for CBS.
I do not, so I don't enjoy anyepisode.
Honestly, that doesn't resultin something.
So I have to see either animmunity being one, a power of
the other.

(17:37):
Yeah, we always fast-forwardthrough the recaps, like, oh,
this is what happened I mean andyou know me right I'm on all
over the spoiler looking atspoilers for big brother.
So, like I already know a lotof what's happened, so I don't
know if there's going to bevalue with that for me
specifically, but I do see howjust anybody who's a fan of set

(17:58):
alums that each week might tunein to see them.

Charlie (18:02):
Yeah, and it did.
They did say never before seenfootage each episode.

Tim (18:07):
So who knows what that could be though um, I never
liked that episode of once aseason towards the end when they
have the three dinner yeah, Inever liked that episode at all.

Charlie (18:19):
It's kind of lame skip to the challenge at the two
thirds through.

Tim (18:24):
And they don't even show the whole challenge typically,
oh, it's so dumb, so stupid.
But yeah, I'm excited BigBrother is coming back.
I cannot wait to watch that.
Of course we will be recappingBig Brother.
We'll be recapping DestinationX, which is I'm hearing someone
watched the first four episodesI guess they got a preview and
says it's fantastic.

(18:44):
And you know, I really likedPeter on the Traitor.
So there's a lot of likable andsome not likable cast members
on that show.
Josh, uh, um, but yeah, and soalso, speaking of big brother,

(19:09):
real quick, I do think where, based on where, big brother 27
is premiering.
I think it'll run into amazingrace 38's premiere, which of
course, is the big brotheramazing race worlds collide
season.
So we shall, and charliealready committed he's gonna
watch that season with me.
So that's true, that's true.

Charlie (19:26):
You like the way I did that only only if you promise
angela's out soon I cannotreveal any spoilers.

Tim (19:35):
Okay, perfect, or what I never heard on the internet, all
right, so let's talk aboutbaseball, baseball.
Let's talk about the MLB, theChicago Cubs, the New York Mets,
the New York Metropolitans.

(19:56):
How are they doing?
What happened with thoseCubbies, charlie?

Charlie (20:02):
I mean it was a pretty solid week for the Cubs last
week.

Tim (20:05):
It was you swept somebody right.

Charlie (20:09):
Yeah, it's always fun to sweep the White Sox.

Tim (20:12):
How about that?
You know, even the Pope was onyour side.
From what I understand, that'swhat I heard you know?

Charlie (20:17):
He must have been based off the scores.

Tim (20:23):
It would be epic if they did a pope, a bobblehead at at
uh, at the white socks, I mean,I mean maybe they'd actually get
people to come in the door.

Charlie (20:31):
The the socks out homered the cubs in three games,
five to two.
Yet the cubs outscored thewhite socks in the series 26 to
eight.

Tim (20:41):
Wow.
So let me ask you a question assomeone who doesn't live in Chi
town.
It's not a Chicago local.
How intense is the rivalrybetween the White Sox and the
Cubs?

Charlie (20:55):
Uh, in what regard?

Tim (20:58):
So I mean, I know it's a new phenomenon over these last
couple years where we're doingthese interleague games.

Charlie (21:04):
Oh, it's been going on for a while, since like 98.

Tim (21:08):
But would you say in Chicago there are more White Sox
fans or Cubs fans?
I think I know the answer tothat.
Probably.

Charlie (21:16):
Cubs.

Tim (21:17):
That's what I would have guessed.

Charlie (21:18):
They did set that world record of people at a gathering
when they won the World Series.
But, I mean there's plenty ofSox fans.

Tim (21:28):
Oh yeah, there are?

Charlie (21:30):
They just are hiding for the last couple of seasons.

Tim (21:32):
I wonder why.
I don't blame them but theydon't have any Frank Thomases on
the team currently, basically,They've got some good young guys
coming up.

Charlie (21:43):
They they actually have won six out of nine before the
cup series.

Tim (21:47):
Okay, okay, they're not the Rockies, okay.

Charlie (21:49):
Not the Rockies there.
I mean, they've got acomfortable six games at least
on the Rockies right now whichis frankly impressive,
Considering where they came fromlast year.

Tim (22:00):
That's frankly impressive, considering where they came from
last year.
That's impressive.
And they're not getting hit onthe head so much anymore, where
I would do Just a couple oftimes.
Just a couple of times.

Charlie (22:07):
They did drop a few fly balls in the series though, but
Wrigley can the wind and thelake yeah.
It was a pretty good series, ifyou're a fan.

Tim (22:21):
So, speaking of the other team that we root for, let's
talk about the metropolitans.
Uh, the new york mets uh didfairly well, I'll say.
Um, they took two games fromthe pirates and they took one
game from the yankees.
Maybe not as well.
Uh, that series kind of annoyedme a bit.
Um, I'll admit, I mean the, uh,the.

(22:43):
I know in baseball and I knowyou have, you'll probably have
an opinion about this.
In baseball, anything canhappen on any given sunday.
I know that's football, but youknow I'm just saying any given
day, anything can happen.
But for a team of the metscaliber to be losing a game by
six runs is crazy to me, likeit's insane.

(23:04):
I mean, I know that's gonnahappen, but eight to two, like
what?

Charlie (23:09):
yeah, I mean, that was what two to two in the eighth
yeah, it was.

Tim (23:13):
And then Pete Alonzo that throw yeah, come on, pete.
I mean, at least he owned up toit.

Charlie (23:18):
Yeah, he's had a couple of those throws recently.
I have to.

Tim (23:22):
He's my guy yeah, um, but man is he hitting?
He's hitting, he's hitting, andso is pete crowe armstrong.
Yeah, you and I had a field daytoday.
We uh you started it, uh, wewent on twitter and uh replied
to some old tweets about peoplebasically shunning PCA.
That's true.

Charlie (23:42):
I saw, yeah, I saw, an old tweet that was from the
beginning of the season that wasasking people to rank the
center fielders.
Coming into the season and heended up being ranked fifth,
which at the time or now, Ishould say, seems rather light,
and everybody was saying theopposite opposite, saying how

(24:02):
could you rank him five?
He shouldn't even be in the top10, top 15, and there are a lot
of people that uh wouldprobably like to take those
takes back but you know what theway social media is?

Tim (24:15):
they're not going to take anything back, they're not of
course it's not.
No one ever admits that they'rewrong.
I mean, uh, I wish they wouldand I would wish there was a way
, you know, for people to beheld accountable for opinions,
um, because maybe peoplewouldn't throw them out so
easily, you know.
You know what I mean, like howblatant people are and I don't

(24:36):
know, um, but I mean, overall,I'm still pleased with the mets.
I don't notice any trends yet,so that's okay, but I am.
The reports too.
I don't know if you saw this.
Their reports were floatingaround from the fans that juan
soto is not giving the energythat he gave with the yankees
not hustling hustling.

(24:57):
And here's the thing normallywith fan reports.
Right, I'll kind of shove thataway and say yeah, whatever.
But the front office came outand kind of said that they're a
little surprised too with yeah, mendoza mentioned something
tonight after the game that he'sgonna.
He's gonna talk about it, butin I don't think that should be

(25:19):
talked about, yeah.

Charlie (25:21):
I think there's always a little bit of Soto.
That's always kind of beenthere.
It's not like this is a newthing.
I think that, first andforemost, is important to say.
It's not like he's doing thisnow that he got paid.
This has always been part ofhis game, and then the one that
happened today.
I mean he lasered it and is notused to playing with, you know,

(25:45):
a 40-foot high wall that often.

Tim (25:49):
And he made a four by stealing seconds.
So you know Soto, like you said.
I mean you can go back to hiscareer with the Nationals, with
the Padres, with the Yankees, with any team he's ever been
with.
He ebbs and flows, he hasmoments and he has periods and
stretches where he does the JuanSoto thing.

(26:09):
But the real beauty of him is,when it comes to be important
and necessary, he does bring iton and I have zero concerns
about his ability to win and bea winner.

Charlie (26:24):
I am a little surprised that he showed that lack of
effort against the yankees, because I would have thought
that he wanted to prove a pointif that, I think that was more
frustration with how the serieshad gone, because that was
towards the end of it as welland he didn't have his best
series.

Tim (26:41):
No, and I think, I think honestly, it was a mental game
for him with the disconnect withthe Yankees, and maybe it was
playing with his head, who knows?

Charlie (26:50):
I mean, yeah, he also had to face Max Freed, who's
arguably one of the bestpitchers in the game right now,
and that's lefty on lefty.

Tim (26:57):
So I saw the most annoying video of Max Freed yesterday.
I don't know if you saw it, butbasically he was doing a
signing and someone gave him aMets hat and he threw it.

Charlie (27:08):
I didn't see it, but I heard about it.
Oh, so annoyed.
He's all in on the rivalry.

Tim (27:14):
I wanted to go cha-cha-cha-cha send because of
course I mean, if you don't know, max free, currently with the
yankees but formerly with theatlanta braves, and so there's
no friendliness there uh,spencer strider famously about a
year ago and said a bunch ofstuff about the mets and uh,
yeah, he's not that, we're notthe biggest fan of him either.

(27:37):
Um, so pitchers like to havesome words.
Uh, yeah, listen, okay, bringit on.
What you're doing.
Uh, you know what I mean.
Um, but yeah, so, yeah, that'sour baseball recap.
Um, what else we got to talkabout, charlie?

Charlie (27:56):
so there's a bunch of some interesting movies coming
out in the next few days here.

Tim (28:01):
There are.

Charlie (28:01):
A few real interesting ones.

Tim (28:04):
Movie blockbusters coming out for the summer.
You want to go over them.

Charlie (28:08):
Well, first and foremost, this week we have
Mission Impossible, which ispart two of the finale, so to
speak.

Tim (28:19):
It's like a so that's what I want to ask you.
So I'm going to set this up.
Last year or the last time wetook a cruise it seems like
forever.
I think it was the beginning oflast year Erica and I are on a
cruise and we go to the movieand it's Tom Cruise, it's
Mission Impossible Awakening orwhatever it's called and we're

(28:40):
watching the movie and I'm like,oh cool, this is an awesome
movie and it said to becontinued.
Totally forgot about it.
I start seeing press for thisnew movie and I'm like wait,
didn't I see a movie with thattitle before?
That is a long time betweenfilms when you're doing a part
two Holy, when did that movie?
didn't that movie come outaround the time right after we

(29:03):
filmed?
We Are Family, like way, likein a year and a half.
Yeah wow, did you see the videothey had uh?

Charlie (29:12):
about the same time as as uh like wicked and stuff.

Tim (29:15):
Yes, yeah it's a long, long time, I don't know what they do
these days, year and a halfbetween.

Charlie (29:23):
Sometimes you wait two to three years for a new season
of a show this is true.
I mean look at, look at, lookat, look at, uh, yeah, the bear
to make sure it's great, youknow, especially tom doing all
of his own stunts he broke hisankle apparently.

Tim (29:37):
I did see that while he was filming that movie and you saw
it.
I don't know if you saw it hehad pictures with dylan efron
and boston rob who went to thepremiere that's pretty cool yeah
, I love, listen.
I love all the missionimpossible movies I could watch.
I don't care like.
I love that stuff, like that metoo bye shit, I I love that
stuff.

Charlie (29:56):
Probably we'll see it this weekend it'll self-destruct
intention.

Tim (29:59):
I love that.
What are you talking about,like?
What guy doesn't like mission?
Oh, come on um, on Um, but yeah, so you're excited about it.

Charlie (30:06):
Very yes, yeah.
Me too there's another one thatI'm real excited to see.
Maybe not in the same sense ofblockbuster, but Tim Robinson's
movie with Paul Rudd is widereleased this coming week as
well.

Tim (30:23):
I've heard nothing, but I should say I've read nothing but
great things about it I feellike it's the type of movie that
you go to and you literally peeyour pants like so funny, like
yeah the first I did that wassouth park.
See one of those oh my god, heis.
He's hilarious.
Tim robinson, he was on snl fora brief period of time, um, and

(30:47):
paul rudd, of course and paulrudd is a very surprising comic
actor, because he didn't reallykind of.
He kind of started that way,but not really seriously.
Um, he's good.
Um, what's the premise of thatmovie?

Charlie (31:01):
so basically, so basically, paul Rudd is like I
believe he's like ameteorologist on the local news
or something like that, and Timis a neighbor of his and they
become friends and it's likeliterally them forming a
friendship.
And Tim Robinson is one of theweirdest people you've ever met.

Tim (31:23):
Basically, he's so funny without giving.

Charlie (31:27):
Yeah, I think that's that's like as basic as it can
be without ruining anything Ihonestly I think what?

Tim (31:34):
what makes tim robinson so funny is the fact that when he's
playing he literally throws allshit to the wind and is like I
don't give a shit, let me justlike totally go balls to the
walls with this character.

Charlie (31:45):
And it's funny like he there's no embarrassment, it's
like he's just blatantly funny,uh, yeah I mean that the actor's
with him too that's like thepremise of his netflix show is
he's they do something soawkward until basically they get
they say I think you shouldleave to whoever it is, in
whatever situation it is yeah, there was one, I think I I

(32:07):
forget their exact premise itwas they were at a table in a
restaurant or something.

Tim (32:11):
It's so funny, oh my god.
And he's just like the mostbizarre things he's saying or
doing yeah, um, yeah, so I, I, Iwould definitely see that.
I mean, I know you're a bigstan of tim robinson, that's
your guy, any other what?

Charlie (32:30):
other films are coming out.
There's a handful of them, Idon't know.
Let me see here.
The next Pixar movie comes outin a few weeks.

Tim (32:41):
That one's called Elio and we have Lilo and Stitch live
action.

Charlie (32:44):
There's also the F1 movie, but that's about four or
5 weeks out with Brad Pitt.

Tim (32:50):
Brad Pitt coming back to the big screen.
We have, I did see.
You know I'm not a big cartoonyperson, but the live action
Lilo and Stitch looks reallycute.

Charlie (33:03):
The marketing they've done for that.
Yeah, it's great that I willsay yeah, they had.

Tim (33:09):
The little girl was on the view today and basically they
brought out stitch like ananimatronic stitch it was.
It was very cute, um so.

Charlie (33:19):
And then, speaking of mission impossible, tom cruise
gave a shout out to anothermovie that's coming out that he
said he just saw a screening of.
I don't know if you saw this, but there's a new movie in the
John Wick universe that's comingout that stars Ana de Armas.
It's basically like a femaleversion of John Wick, and Tom

(33:41):
Cruise said he saw an advancedscreening of it and thought it
was awesome and just in the samesense as the other.
So that could be interestingtoo.

Tim (33:50):
I'm looking forward to that .
You saw Thunderbolts, I thinkThunderbolts I'm hearing.
Well, you loved it, right, yeah, um so also naked gun, a new
naked gun movie.
I know back in the day, thosewere hilarious, I loved those
movies that I'm super excitedfor.

Charlie (34:08):
That's not till maybe july, though, right right um
final destination.

Tim (34:13):
I loved that original movie and I'm not a horror movie fan,
but it was so unique the waythe story went, where people
died and then you were saved andthen all of a sudden, now you
were gonna die and it wasinteresting if we're sneaking
into july.
There's a couple others thatcome out in july, obviously
superman our buddy, mike evans,is an extra, uh, an event, not

(34:38):
just an extra star, a star heplays a dad, basically, yeah,
the dad of the girl that getssaved, I mean I can't wait to
see her buddy mevins yeah, kungfu panda kung fu war panda.
That was such a cute originalmovie um kung fu.
Oh, we have, uh, a life ofchalk, which is a stephen king

(35:02):
movie.

Charlie (35:03):
That's interesting, there's also one other massive
one at the end of July thatpeople are super, the internet
is super hyped for.

Tim (35:10):
Let me see here.

Charlie (35:11):
The Fantastic.

Tim (35:12):
Four yeah, so with the Fantastic Four and Marvel
Universe is very interestingbecause they've done a Fantastic
Four movie about twice already.
Famously, one of the FantasticFour iterations had Captain
America himself, chris Evans, asJohnny, johnny Blaze.

(35:33):
I always mix him and GhostRider up.
I get corrected on that.
Shout out to Nicholas Pepin whogave us a shout out on his
podcast.

happened in the first two allright, I'm gonna watch it again.

Is it like x-files, kind offish?
No, I loved x-files.
Um Then, yes, it's like X-Files.
It's so much like X-Files, it'sliterally like.

Charlie (37:49):

Charlie (37:52):
