Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Around the
Bases, a pop culture and sports
podcast with your host, carlosSimar, and I'm Tim Sternberg.
Hit it, nick Wow.
(00:25):
So how are you doing, charlie?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
I'm uh finaled up.
How are you doing?
Speaker 1 (00:32):
same like traders.
We just watched the tradersfinale folks, uh just, and
actually dropped a littleearlier.
Um, I saw something online thatsays it sometimes drops like at
830, 815.
So I decided to check at like840 and I was there on my
Peacock so I was like ooh.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
I'm watching.
I had my phone plugged in andcharging so I didn't see your
text for like seven wholeminutes and then I was like, oh
damn it, we're like already he'sgoing to be ahead of me and I
was ahead of you.
Not to mention, we still hadone more battle to finish on the
floor, which we didn't want topause with one battle.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Which we'll talk
about later.
We'll definitely talk aboutthat last battle later, time to
perfectly wrap up a round eight.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
We were going to be
right on time to start live
traders and no Peacock had to.
I even went out of my wayearlier today to go on peacock
check and it said nine easterneight central.
I said perfect.
I double checked.
I know that's all right, we'llstart we.
(01:41):
We already watched the firstcouple battles of the floor.
We'll talk about later.
But I've started at like 7 15to finish the floor right before
eight.
It was like perfect setup.
Uh, why can't we have nicethings?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
and then you get my
text and you're like, oh shit,
oh yeah.
So let's start with the, let'sstart to trade.
So, folks, if you're listeningto this podcast and you have not
watched the traders in advance, you might want to skip ahead,
because these are going to bemajor spoilers for you, and just
(02:15):
that's a warning.
So, and before I get it, we getinto the actual show.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Go watch traders and
then come right back.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Right.
I was literally just yes, comeback, we need you.
We need you on a round basis.
Thank you, uh.
Public service announcement.
We were just, I was just it.
Just it just revealed who waseliminated, which we'll talk
about in a second.
And I'm on tiktok right andluckily, I saw who was just
eliminated and the first tiktokthat pops up is them showing
(02:44):
this person being eliminated.
I'm like, are you serious thatfast?
I'm like you cannot even letpeople.
No, it was some dude holding uphis phone to the freaking tv.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
But I'm like you
can't record the video, but you
can't even be cool to be firstto put it out there but you
can't wait for people tofreaking watch it.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
I was like, thank god
, I saw it already.
So, folks, last that, we, we,we talked about this last week
and, uh, by the way, shout outto sam real quick, sam, the
professor who basically calledlike a large part of the oscar
winners he saves everybody threehours of watching it.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
He pretty much picked
all the awards professor, nice
job.
I can't wait to have you backon the show, buddy so it's
impossible to top that episodethat was like that was like a
jordan flu game totally like.
I don't even know who that is,um, but michael jordan, oh
michael, jordan on the flow, then he drops like 60 I know who
(03:46):
michael jordan is.
There you go yeah you nevertell a bulls fan who michael
jordan went nuts yes oh, that's,I do remember that story.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
The flu, yes, yes,
yes, I, I thought you meant flu,
like he flew, no, which michaeljordan does like I mean he did
fly through the air, though Imean the man was I could see
where why you thought that.
so, yeah, that's why, anyway, air jordan, air jordan, yes, uh,
(04:17):
back to the trader.
So last week we talked, uh,last week in our regular episode
we mentioned that thecliffhanger for the traders.
It was a double cliffhanger, sowe didn't know who the seer was
, but also who was going to bebanished.
And Brittany was about toreveal her vote and you said
Editing for sure, I definitely.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I went hard on the
play action I oversold, which
made me believe it.
All my safeties were brought in.
They threw it deep, but that Ibit hard on it.
They probably you know what.
They probably knew that so manypeople are onto their editing
tricks and it was a double bluffyeah.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
So you, at first I
was like, oh, danielle's gone,
because the way britney kind ofwas like, because I remember
that reaction at reindeer games,so we'll talk about that so I
was like and then you said, well, it's an editing thing, there's
no way, because then they wouldhave showed it and then they've
been pal, pal in the media andso on, so forth.
I'm like you know what?
You make some good points, you're probably right.
(05:23):
Right, I was going to go.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Not to mention it.
And it took away another personfor this year.
What if someone else wanted topick Brittany?
The game was over, exactly.
I will say, though, she's luckyshe got second place in that,
and I say second because Ireally do think Danielle won it.
And then, if Danielle was out,it goes to second, which is
britney, which I was surprised.
(05:45):
I didn't think she was going tobe this year yeah, I was
surprised at that too, but inrecord.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
so basically they
lifted the thing and danielle
was voted out.
So yeah, I was, I was so mad, Iwas, so I was like now,
although I mean Charlie, I meanDanielle was not long for the
game.
There's no way she was going towin the game.
They knew that she was atraitor, they weren't going to
let her go to the end.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah, the only.
The only thing I was thinkingthat could have happened was had
the tiebreaker come and thenIver went.
Look at the numbers in thehouse.
It's Danielle, brittany, gabby, dolores and Dylan.
Four women against one guy.
It would have got a lot moredifficult.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Although you do see
later on in the episode that
Brittany did try to sway theladies to vote Dylan and it
didn't work Right.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Well, because she
didn't have Danielle versus Ivar
, that's a two vote swing rightthere.
Yeah, would it have been alittle different if her if there
were already two votes on it,gabby might have tipped that
direction because I think shewanted to, but she also didn't
want to be the only one to votewith her.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
That's a good point
and you mentioned so you
mentioned Brittany won the Searand probably I agree with you by
default probably Danielle, because from everything looking
at the challenge, danielle wasthe winner.
So Brittany got the Sear, whichI think.
And so for our listeners, theSear is basically a power where
you get to pull one player intoa private meeting and there's a
(07:22):
card that reveals what they arethe traitor or faithful.
And she pulls Gabby into aprivate meeting and there's a
card that reveals what they arethe traitor or faithful and, uh,
she pulls gabby into a meetingand I think she played it
perfectly.
I think the only way to play itas a traitor is to say exactly
what the truth is.
And, um, you know, of course, gabby was a faithful and she
told everybody that gabby was afaithful at breakfast the next
(07:44):
morning, which I think was heronly move, I mean.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Dylan was already on
to her.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
By the way, can we
just say Dylan is probably one
of the better players I've seenon the show.
Yeah, I mean, he's the reasonwhy the four of them at the end
were at the end.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
And I will say at
about roughly three or four pm
Chicago time, and I will say atabout roughly 3 or 4 pm Chicago
time.
So well before it aired, youtexted myself and Michael and
said, quote Dylan will be atleast a winner tonight.
And you nailed that.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Were you nervous that
they were going to push the
votes?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
No, I felt, I felt
strongly, I think what he, he,
he succeeded in the social gameand the social aspect where
people he built so much trustwith all the other players,
specifically ivar, and I thinkwith gabby to some extent, even
though he named her.
Uh, I think that you know hehad this currency, that you just
he in the last, like two orthree things that happened.
(08:48):
And I mean, look, I think whatcemented him and Gabby, frankly,
was the challenge and they hadto do this challenge where you
know they're collecting thismoney and at the end of the
challenge they have to like hookonto a helicopter and drop it
in a fire circle of fire toincrease the amount.
And he went up with Gabby, whowas nervous, and I think that
(09:09):
kind of cemented theirrelationship to the point where
she trusted him.
Yeah, and I think that was it.
I think that was it forBrittany.
Brittany, of course, was votedout at the last banishment, um,
and they didn't find outBrittany was a traitor until
Right, it was a traitor untilthe vote.
Right, it was a unanimous vote.
They didn't find out she was atraitor until after they had won
(09:35):
and and um, Alan told them, um,so, which was a vindication, of
course, and I was sad.
You know, big brother fan me, Imean I.
It's always tough not to see agamer win, because I'm for the
gamers, because that's what wewatch our games.
They got a lot of traders out uh, straight up, but I think dylan
deserves.
(09:56):
I would say dylan deservesabout it is the way I would do
the percentages.
Dylan deserves about 70 of thecredit, gabby deserves about 20
of the credit and I'll give ivar10 and dolores just was lucky
um as they showed, she went twoand eight on her votes and she's
supposedly a detective.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Eight wrong, not two
out of eight, which would be 25,
I'm talking 20 yeah, and I findout.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
We find out in the
reunion that happened after that
she was a detective.
I didn't know this.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
She was a detective,
I'm like really I think she was
a fired detective but she, she, yeah, she, she.
She was just out to get tomsandoval most of the season
right, exactly, she did say thatshe felt she voted with her
emotions many times, which, infairness, is true I mean, look
at tom.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
I mean tom sandoval.
Yeah, I don't care what theysaid in the reunion, I don't
want to watch him, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Based on his one
other.
One other thing we got out ofthe reunion was we got
confirmation that zach efron didwatch and did hear the comment
he did.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
He did so.
The comment was bob the dragqueen said that he's not
talented or something as anactor, and yeah, dylan said I
grew up with an actor and hesaid not a very good one yes,
that was the comment exactly andzach heard it and he said well,
he should watch baywatch.
That was that.
Enjoy it.
That was the comeback.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
He should have told
him to watch Neighbors or
something.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Something funnier,
it's my favorite Zac Efron movie
Are you kidding me?
That was Seth Rogen, zac Efron, that was a great movie, my God.
Oh, so good.
We can talk about that anothertime.
But comedy gold Absolutelyfunny, funny, funny movie.
But I mean there, old, absolutely funny, funny, funny
(11:49):
movie, um, but I mean there's atwofold reaction for me for this
.
Uh, for the season, I was veryhappy to see danielle make it as
far as she did with britney.
I kind of love that big brotherconnection, of course, um,
however, I think she messed upbritney's game by making her a
traitor and you know um, youknow I, I think she would have
been better served, honestly, inthat moment, murdering dylan.
(12:10):
I told you, I told you a coupleepisodes back, they need to get
rid of, get dylan, get rid ofdylan and they, I definitely
think, getting rid of dylan waswas definitely the biggest
mistake.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeah, was not getting
rid of dylan not gonna?
Yeah, um, but I will say, evenhad she not recruited britney
there because of derrick's on tobritney, I feel like that's
what dylan went back to was theoriginal reason was derrick
thought it was.
So I feel like, no matter whatdylan wasn't going to go to the
(12:41):
end of britney even if she gotto let's say she got to the four
instead of five I still feellike he votes.
He votes red then and votes outBrittany because he's not going
to the end with her so Derekreally trashed Brittany's game
yeah, he did, and that's how hewas a detective that was on to
(13:02):
something, except it was luck atthe time.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
You know, what's
interesting to me here's the
self-proclaimed most masterfulplayer of Big Brother, etc.
But he was almost non-existentin the season and he was
non-existent in the finale.
Really there wasn't much peepfrom him, I think.
At the end of the day, I thinkonce you're a big player in the
(13:27):
reality space and people knowyour strategy and know what you
do and kind of how you do it,it's very hard to overcome that
knowledge of people like likeaustin robb and they mentioned
that during the during thereunion how boston robb always
goes in and and I love the fact,by the way, that they mentioned
deal or no deal island in thereunion and they talked about
(13:50):
how boston rob picks the weakestplayer, which he did on deal or
no deal island.
I forget the young man's namesame thing.
Basically, the copycat dixon wasa copycat of him.
It's a crazy thing with castingsometimes dixon was his copycat
, um, but yeah, he, he pickedaaron, it was aaron.
He picked aaron to go to theend, of course, and, and so I
(14:12):
think that is rob's mo, that'swhat rob does, and uh, yeah you
know, I mean.
But after a while it kind ofcatches on.
People catch on to it, um.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
And speaking of the
reunion, it was funny how they
did it, because there were somany obviously starting a game
with 20, and then you have threeadding in.
That's a lot of people.
But I thought it was funny howthey started with the ones from
the end and they added all thetraders and then they brought in
the ones from the K.
There were so many to keepgoing.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
At one point I I'm
like they're still missing like
eight people.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yes, they were still
sitting in the back.
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
So that reminded me
of us, like in waiting for we
are family to go.
It's like, oh, we're still hereat the true I.
We're here, we're playing pool,we're talking and we're playing
games, but we're still here.
Oh man, that was my dailyremind text, reminders going.
You know we're still here, sendum.
(15:14):
But yeah, you're right, it waslike a slow kind of trickle in
um, I mean, I, I like the waythey did it because, quite
frankly, that was kind of theorder that the audience is
probably the most interested inhearing from the different
participants yeah, was thereanybody that showed up to the
reunion that you're like?
Speaker 2 (15:30):
oh yeah, I forgot you
were on this season yes, um
well, what wells wells wellswells was one of them.
I'm like oh, I remember thatguy missed wells um also the
housewives, the, the, the weekone.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Yeah, how sucky does
is that to like get eliminated
in week one?
You probably don't even knowwhat's going on in the show
until you actually watch it yeahoh man, um, but you know what?
What I mean, I would jump to goon that show in a second, like
I would do that show in a second, like that is my favorite.
(16:11):
We talked about this myfavorite reality show by far,
but yeah, I would they should dosome sort of like.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I know it's done
somewhere, but like interactive,
Like you can go.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Yeah, that would be
fun, that would be fun and be
fun.
And yeah, I would man, yeah, like, like, almost like an
escape room, but traitors yeahexactly.
The only way to escape is youplay the game, and that's how
you and yeah, you know, charlie,we should market that idea.
Yeah, I like it.
(16:43):
I like it'll be fun um, so yeah,I mean so we will not see
probably another season oftraders until january, which,
spoiled me, is kind of sad.
It's bad enough.
I get big brother once a yearnow.
I have to wait once a year fortraders.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Uh, hey, hey you got,
you got reindeer games, so
technically more than once ayear.
Well, they didn't do reindeergames this year, so I haven't
had big brothers, since theaggregate average you get
slightly more than one a year, just saying well, next year is a
winter olympics and we usuallyget a celebrity version of big
brother during the winterolympics.
So there we go.
(17:17):
Is that a?
Thing?
Speaker 1 (17:19):
usually it's counter
programming.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yes, oh wow, we may
get a Celebrity Big Brother next
year Wait.
So then, what do they do duringthe Summer Olympics?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Big Brother regular
Big Brother's on already.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Oh, okay, yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
They don't like to
watch.
It's a cheap thing, so theydon't have to run their
expensive programming.
And I just put Celebrity.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Big Brother on.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Yeah, I don't
complain, I love celebrity
that's how it's been the lastcouple of winter olympics.
If it's going to be the samenext year, I don't know, but um
any, any inside info on anypossible players in that
celebrity big brother no, notyet, but basically all you have
to do is look at we are familyor messing, or apparently no, no
, no, no.
(18:03):
Those are strictly fox recycledpeople by the way, real quick,
we're not going to talk, I meanin depth, but two players on
mass singer this season are andygrammer and um james vanderbeek
.
I mean hello.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Hopefully, as I said
to you earlier, hopefully the
judges just have studied we arefamily and then they'll do
really well at guessing who themess singers are.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Shout out to Mike,
our buddy, from.
We are a family.
I will say I do what Mike does.
I watched the recaps.
I don't watch the wholeepisodes anymore.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
So I do, is I find
out who they are when you tell
me who they were, that's fairenough.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Fair enough, and we
will not do a recap on this show
.
Um, not to, you know, it's just, it's uh, I enjoy finding out
who it is, but I don't need tosee the whole thing, you know?
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Um, anyway, anyway,
um, so that is nick cannon needs
to pay the bills, all right Ido love nick and well, he does
have a lot of children so right, that's what I was meaning old
woman in a shoe, old nick cannonin a shoe, has many children,
doesn't know what to do.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
You like to throw
back to millionaire?
There you go, all right, thereyou go, there you go.
Um, for the folks that don'tknow, that's the question I like
almost choked on.
All right, anyway, for threehundred dollars.
Hey, don't know, that's thequestion, I almost choked on.
Alright anyway, for $300.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
You got it right, I
did.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
So Traders, that's a
wrap for Traders.
We will unfortunately be movingon from Traders on this podcast
.
They are taping the next seasonin May, so if we hear rumors,
of course we will share that forsure.
There are no confirmed uhupcoming seasons of the goat and
house of villain jet, so whenthat comes up we will let you
(19:50):
know we don't even have anypeople on the next season, do we
no rumored cast mates?
not yet, although if I was totake a guess, I mean yeah, let's
let's throw a couple guessesout there I don't think you're
gonna see a very big brotherheavy season, and that is
because the amazing race isgoing to be taping next month a
(20:11):
season of big brother playersand their family members, the
big brother player.
They're basically going to beunder contract with CBS, so
they're not going to be on thenext season of traders.
Hey, maybe there's someone whogot left out of that well, there
are a couple that said theycouldn't do it.
Amazing rings, I don't know, maybe he's gonna be busy going
(20:33):
to court against mike biggie.
Anyway, um uh he might be.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
oh, he'll be locked
up, never mind.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Never mind
Ba-dum-bum-psh.
So Survivor Last time on nowait.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Hold, on, hold, on
hold on hold on hold on hold on.
You interrupted and stoppedwith your guesses for who could
be on.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Oh, let's not jump
the shark.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
I'm so excited to
talk about Survivor.
Well, me too.
But really quick, I want tohear a couple of your guesses.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
You said not Big
Brother heavy hey, maybe we'll
see Phillip Solomon from Deal orno Deal Island.
He could be maybe Amy fromseason one of Deal or no Deal
Island has Poverty played yetyes, she was in last season
can't bring her back.
Maybe, david or maybe daviddavid deal in no deal island.
(21:28):
Um, let's look at some otherfranchises um survivor.
It would be interesting to seeum carolyn's buddy play michael
phelps played season one, didn'the?
uh, not michael phelps ryan?
Uh, the.
Didn't he Not Michael PhelpsRyan, the guy who got arrested?
How about Michael Phelps?
(21:48):
Michael Phelps could be anoption.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
They always have one
random athlete.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
What about Mary Lou
Retton?
I know she was sick, but maybeshe's getting better and that
would be kind of cool to see.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Okay, Probably some
random lord from England that we
don't know how about, likeTerrell Owens?
Speaker 1 (22:08):
oh, I'd love to.
What about like LeVar Burton?
I would love to see LeVarBurton.
Or maybe like Cam Newton, camNewton, I'd love to see some.
We're not going to see anybaseball players.
If it tapes, maybe like JoelMcHale.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Maybe retire Joel
McHale would be fantastic.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Ken Jeong well, he's
not going to see any baseball
players.
If it tapes me like joel mckale, maybe retire joel mckale would
be fantastic ken jung well,he's not going to go on yeah
he's probably a contract maybemichelle williams just name
everybody who was on.
We are family people michaelphelps wasn't on.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
We are family.
No, after michael phelps Inamed four consecutive terrell
owens what about carney wilson?
Terrell owens check.
Cam newton check.
No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait wait, wait to be fair.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
To be fair, I wasn't
technically in the studio for
those people even though theymay have showed me I wasn't in
the studio no, that they were on.
(23:12):
We are family, come on no, Idon't remember the episodes.
I'm not on.
I mean, why would I do that?
Speaker 2 (23:17):
you still remember
the participants how, how?
Speaker 1 (23:20):
gauche Participants.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
How gauche, that was
pretty good.
I was going to continue namingthem until you.
Michelle Williams was just tooobvious.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
I should have waited.
Why don't you just draw AndyGrammar in there too?
Speaker 2 (23:39):
He was just mentioned
.
He could have worked.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
What's that dude from
MMA the fighter?
Chuck Linnell that's what Ishould have said was just
mentioned, because he could haveworked.
Uh, what's that dude from mma?
That the fighter?
Uh, I'm glad you got a joke outof me, thank you.
I appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Thank you, yeah okay,
now you can move on to survivor
.
You've named a few guesses,thanks buddy.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Thank you, buddy,
appreciate it so previously on
survivor um, wow, can we say,say get it.
Say can we say how big of atarget say is putting on her
back, like why?
Why do you think like I'm gonnaask you a question?
(24:20):
She's one of the cockierplayers I've seen in the last
couple of years off the bat, yeah, or is it me?
Do you see how manyconfessionals she's getting?
Speaker 2 (24:31):
yeah, I mean she's,
she's playing hard early.
Yeah, people playing hard.
And then who?
Who was the one guy that hadthe conversation with her and
said you think you're playinghard, but I'm playing hard?
It was.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
It was a weird, it
was tough to follow yeah, you
think you're playing, I'mplaying ends up taking the boot,
but kevin, by the way, whocan't dive for anything, yeah
people are the same dude thatdislocated his shoulder in the
first uh, challenge.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
The people are
worried again that uh, and so
far it's looking that way we'reat the point where it's going to
be another really weak onetribe and the other two are just
going to beat up on them itseems that happens most seasons.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
I'm gathering because
it's like one lots away.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
People want two
tribes.
I bet you that's going to be inthe next batch of questions.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
Two tribes of three.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Let me ask you a
question.
To that point, though, fromwhat I've seen and mind you,
I've only been back for threeseasons, but usually like the
winter has come out of thatsmall group still, which is
crazy.
You think about last season.
Usually like the winner hascome out of that small group
still, which is crazy.
Yeah, you think about lastseason, the winner came out of
that smaller group.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
You think they're
usually easier targets?
Yeah, but I think A lot of thetime when you know you got a
tribe of six that comes in fullyhealthy but they're split 3-3,
they want to pull that oneperson in to get numbers on
their side.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
You know what, too?
I think you know you.
You're together for so longwithout a tribal council.
These feelings start to buildup, Like you don't like this
person and like I cannot wait toget rid of this person.
And that's what happens when, like, they finally grab, are
able, like you said, to grabpeople on other tribes and get
these people that they don'tlike out.
That's huge.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
And something,
another thing I want to bring up
.
You mentioned that it's onlyyour third season back, but you
noticed something already thatis a big change in the game.
They went after a relativelybig target week two from their
own tribe.
I was gonna say what is that?
And to your point, a lot of thetimes you think early survivor
tribe strength you want to keepwinning but now all of a sudden
(26:49):
they're down two players.
Why would they get rid of kevin?
Yeah, it's, it was, uh, it wasa the, the pizza guy we'll call.
We'll call him eric, he's gonnawin.
I have a feeling he's gonna win.
The other guy said hey, thismight be our only chance to get
out kevin I think, pizza guy hasa strong chance.
(27:10):
They got her to play her idoltoo, which, even though it, in
hindsight, obviously is 2020,but watching that episode, you
thought that she has to play it.
Little does she know.
She ends up getting both ofthem on her side and she could
have snuck away without it.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
But hey, to their
credit, they to their credit,
they fished out the idol, whichis what you want to do if you
know someone has it.
That's a smart thing to doanyway.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
Um, and to her credit
, she, unlike a couple of
seasons ago, she did not go homeyeah, just play it safe, live
to fight another day, 100% to gofind it and decipher it again
but I predict they're gonna losethe next chat.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
I mean, they're they.
I mean, why would you?
And Kevin wasn't even theweakest player in the challenge.
You know the challenge wherethey're pushing that ball right
to the pressure on it.
The other dude was liketerrible and Kevin was so
frustrated with him at one pointduring the challenge.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
He's like you know
you could see the next episode
at the beginning of thechallenge, when they, when he
says, come on in, and then thefirst two tribes come in, and
they say, and now you're gonnasee the tribe minus, and then
their reactions are gonna becrazy.
This time.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
I think they're gonna
, they're not.
They're thinking that otherdude is gonna go out or say he's
gonna go out, or well, theydon't know the dynamics that you
know what's going on at theright, they're just gonna be
surprised that it's a blind sidewhen their tribe's already
shorthanded I mean, they got ridof probably their most,
probably their strongest dude.
I mean, without a doubt they gotrid of.
(28:40):
So, yeah, um, and this is justthe thing that is crazy about
the new era is is getting rid ofstrong players.
I I'm old school, like you keepall the strong people in until
at least emerge, and then, youknow, you kind of fight it out
then.
But okay, I don't know if Iwould play the game that way.
(29:01):
I, I, you know, I think I'mthinking about you know, if I
would play the game that way, I,I, you know, I think I'm
thinking about you know, if Iwas to be fortunate enough to go
on that show, I woulddefinitely align myself with
stronger players, both mentallyand physically.
There's two kind of veins there, but I, I would not vote them
out yet, but I would definitelytarget them once I was able to
if you were stronger than me yougotta go, you gotta go um
(29:28):
challenge too.
Yeah, oh my god, that was not aneasy challenge at all, that was
it was a crazy obstacle course.
They were put through first, first of all, the swimming alone
.
I am a swimmer.
It is hard enough for me youknow, being out of shape to swim
in a swimming pool.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
The swimming formerly
out of shape for.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Well, I'm getting
there 35 pounds, uh down, um.
But to swim just in a swimmingpool is tough, like it's a lot.
It's a very cardiovascular,intensive sport.
I used to do it every day, youknow, as a team, but to do it in
the ocean is so much harderthan it is to do it in a pool.
So mind you that, on top of thefact that you're throwing a
(30:10):
giant ball across the area andyou're having to balance while
you're on these pontoons thatare moving back and forth and
bouncing and there's likethere's a pit of water in
between and you're both oneither side and you're putting
pressure, it is immensely adifficult challenge.
It was incredible.
(30:31):
It makes every big brotherchallenge look like patty cake.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Yeah yeah it was so
hard yeah, and how about the?
The?
They're balancing sidewaysacross like a, a very thin, but
not normally like a normal oneyou'd walk across, because
meanwhile they're simultaneouslyholding up a ball together with
the end of two sticks paddles.
(30:55):
Yeah, I mean the the green teamcould not do that.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
They fell in a
hundred times you could see
visibly angst on every player'sface on that team is like, and
then I gotta give a shout out tomitch on that challenge.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Yes, was he five for
five, granny style shooting
though no, he was doing it.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
He wasn't doing it
this way, he was going
underhanded.
It was like basically great, which is perfect, it was edited,
I mean, even if it wasn't.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
I mean he went
through that thing in no time.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
You know what it is
seemed like he had the pocket in
his head.
Once you get the pocket in yourhead, you're golden.
Like once you kind of knowwhere you're going and he was
perfect.
Like once you get that feel andhe got the feel.
Not that I could do it, he wasnba jam heating up, where would
you get the ball and it's onfire.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Wherever you shoot it
from, it goes in yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Um.
So I mean, I, I have aprediction.
I I don't think it's gonna beone of the best seasons.
I don't get that feeling fromthese players, I don't get that
kind of like.
At the beginning of the lastseason I kind of was like, oh my
God, this is going to be agreat season.
I don't get to see.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
I will say in their
defense they played hard week
one.
They have tribal, that hardweek one?
Speaker 1 (32:13):
No, no, I doubt, I
think personality wise that's
okay, that's fair.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
So yeah, so Kevin
goes home.
Now we're down to six.
Six and four on the tribesagain that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
That's crazy, um.
So I I mean it's, it's a funseason.
I'm looking forward to seeingwhere we go from here and uh,
yeah, I don't know um, but yeah,I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
I I love, I love the
fact that you got me back into
survivoror.
Yeah, me too.
I'm glad you're back on it.
We'll get you to watch theCarolyn and Tony season, one of
these days.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Maybe I can get you
to watch Amazing Race.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah, maybe the Big
Brother season.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I did, yeah.
Well, I think we both shoulddefinitely watch the Big.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Brother season.
When does that start?
Speaker 1 (33:04):
It's not filming
until next month and it probably
will air next January, is myguess.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Oh, okay, so by the
time Trader's 4 rolls around.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
Yes, exactly, we'll
have Amazing Race Big Brother
style.
Yeah, I watched, you know realquick.
You know we're not going toreally talk about it because you
didn't watch it, but I watchedthe season premiere.
Amazing race back we're back to.
So the previous season is justfor your information, for our
listeners.
Um, amazing race has reallyjust been self-contained because
of covid and everything, so youjust have maybe south america
(33:35):
and what we're back to travelingthe world.
So they went to.
Hong kong was their firstdestination.
So yeah I'm looking forward tothe rest of the season of
amazing race.
Uh, so let's go ahead andaround to um third base and talk
about dealing around the worldwhich is filmed in panama.
Yeah, there you go, there yougo.
(33:56):
It's nice transition I likethat, I like it, I like it.
I like it.
Um deal or no deal, island, umyeah.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Six players to go at
the start of the episode.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
So I saw some, some
deleted scenes that I sent you,
yeah, and a little eyeopening tome because I didn't think that
ck was as close with poverty andI know I was surprised by that
as well.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
They don't seem to be
editing it that way which makes
me a little scared next week'sepisode.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Not this one, but
next for philip yeah, that
concerns me.
It does one of this one needsto win next week they said they
wanted to target philip beforethey targeted letty um and since
letty is still there, thatmeans philip would probably be
next target hopefully nothopefully he just wins the power
(35:01):
I, I like the Letty-Philip kindof relationship and dynamic and
I don't know, maybe he.
I mean, we have a doubleelimination coming up next week.
They did tease that with us.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
That's right, I
forgot about that.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, and I see maybe
we're going to, you know, I
mean, hopefully Philip canescape it.
They need to get one of the twoout.
They need to get a the david orpoverty out.
I mean it has to be one.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Does that mean, if
they do a double olem next week
they'll only be then the weekafter that at?
The final four or they'lleliminate one to three, and then
I think we're gonna.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
I think we have two
episodes left, from what I'm
gathering wow.
So a double olem and then adouble episode, and then the
finale yeah, I think that's kindof where they're headed um,
which would make sense, I thinkI don't know um.
So, dixon, so rewinding theepisode a little bit to talk
(35:59):
about the fact that there was achallenge where they.
You want to explain it.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Yeah, they basically
well kind of like in survivor,
except this time the the beamthey have to tight, tight rope
walk against is the thinnestthing I've ever seen in my life.
And then it's like a twig.
Yeah, it was like a twig.
Honestly, it was crazy.
I can't believe they made itmore than a couple steps.
(36:27):
But, dixon, you never want tobe the one to go first, but he
falls into the quicksand and hecould not move.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
I mean, he was
instantly, it was yeah I'm sorry
I shouldn't laugh, but becausethat would be me it was worthy
of a laugh but he was literallylike, stuck, like I'm stuck and
David goes and goes.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
You know, considering
I'm an Australian survivor,
I've had some experience withkickstands.
So you know you just gotta goflat.
And everyone knows you just goflat and just go across.
And then he did it like it wasnothing.
And then everyone else was able, he did it like it was nothing
and then, uh, everyone else wasable to do it pretty much,
although who was it one of themI did not think was going to
make it.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
And then all of a
sudden, out of nowhere can we
talk about ck taking that headeroh yes, oh yes, yes, yes, yes,
that needs to be.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Uh, they went to
commercial, she, literally her
legs went snap right on oh,what's the name of that show on
tbs where they do the obstaclecourse and they just get
absolutely wipe out?
Speaker 1 (37:35):
yeah, that is what
that was like she went through
the bouncy balls.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
That was oh, and they
showed it and they showed a
replay and then they showed aslower replay.
Oh, my god, thank you, that's athat made up for a couple.
I mean doesn't really make upfor the cliffhangers, but it
helps.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Whether they replayed
that like a hundred times, they
should show that you're right, though that should be absolutely
a gif where it's like boom,boom.
Yeah, it's so bad.
Oh my god, I shouldn't laughbecause it's karma, but I can't
help it trying to handle all my,all my problems and work at the
same time hello, yes, Iunderstand um.
(38:17):
So dealing on deal island, um, Idon't know.
Let me be honest with you.
I don't know if I would have asmuch interest still in it if we
didn't know somebody who was onthe cast still.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
Yeah, I'm just hoping
that Philip gets some power
next week, because we're down tothe final five now.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
Doesn't look good for
him.
If he doesn't, I think, ifeither David or Poverty get
power, I think Philip and Lettyare both in trouble.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Yeah, because.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
CK seems like she's
aligned and I really don't like
CK.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
She's a third wheel.
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Honestly, the only
move Letty could have made was
to get Dixon out.
She had to do that.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
She had to.
I stick by how she did it.
She said you know, if you putme up, I'm going to get Dixon
out Transparent.
Like it is and she stuck by it.
I'm going to get Dixon outTransparent.
She's going like it is andshe's stuck by it, so I applaud
the game move.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
I like that.
You know, like you saidtransparent, truthful, she told
it like it was Absolutely hecouldn't pick Dixon.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Dixon wanted to be
picked.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
Yeah, he said, pick
me, pick me, that's on.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
David, he's got to
feel it a little.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
And something tells
me he won't really feel it too
much.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
I don't think Either
way he advanced another week.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
He wins.
It's interesting I didn't knowhim from Adam before this season
.
I don't have a VPN to watchAustralian Survivor, although
now I might want to do that, especially when the Australian
Survivor vs the World comes outand we got our Surrey and
Poverty playing that.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
So yeah, can you
stream that on Paramount Plus?
Speaker 1 (39:57):
I don't think so, but
I think we can figure out a way
to.
Well, I can't say that.
We'll figure it out.
We'll figure it out.
Maybe not out, we'll figure itout.
I don't, maybe not, you know, maybe I'll just see recaps,
right, yeah, um, yes, yes, okay,it's, it's nobody.
(40:19):
Um, cherry cool air quotes yay,um, strangely, I won't edit
that out.
Um so, all right, so we'rerounding home and we have to
talk about the floor.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
Um, yeah, so, uh,
safe to say you just want to
play the clip from last week.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
You can just insert
it here and say another episode
brian won another 20 000basically so brian brian's up to
80 000 and I will say at leastthis week he kind of earned it.
Um, he did earn it, but thelast week he didn't hold on,
hold on.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Did he earn it?
Or was the randomizer all of asudden randomly picked one of
the ones that was touching himon?
The last battle of the?
Speaker 1 (41:19):
night, literally the
only, the only I'm not saying
anything is but literally theonly square that he could only
play.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
Brian was randomized
because he was in the middle of.
They picked one that could playBrian we're not insinuating one
that couldn't not play Brianfor legal reasons.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
We are not
insinuating anything foul
whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
Randomizer for legal
reasons.
We are not insinuating anything.
If I'll, whatsoever randomizer.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
For legal reasons, we
are not assuming anything about
randomizer oh god, so yes, andthis dude who?
Who didn't know directors verymuch?
I mean, literally the firstdirector that pops up there is
(42:13):
Steven Spielberg, the first two.
He even took a minute forAlfred Hitchcock, like really.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
Really that was a
tough look for him.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Brian.
I mean I got disappointedbecause I think if it went
further, with the guy actuallynaming some, we might have
gotten to Kevin Smith, whichwould have been funny if Brian
said Kevin Smith, which I wouldhave kind of loved that.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
Yeah, we didn't get
to see another like 10 or 12 at
least that we could have, because he was so bad.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
So bad.
Uh, so yes, brian did winanother 20 grand, but his
category now but you're right,he earned it.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
He earned it.
But now he picked and the firstguy didn't know the three most
famous directors in the humanhistory.
And before Brian had to say aword, the other guy was at like
27 seconds already.
I mean, come on, was that notthe most gift-wrapped win on the
history of the floor you'veever witnessed?
Speaker 1 (43:16):
It was.
But I will say this I agreewith you, but look at the
category he has now.
He has a rodeo, yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
Hey, he said he
studies it, which makes sense
because rodeo had he.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
Hey, he said he
studies it, which makes sense,
because how do you study rodeo?
I mean, I understand surroundedby brian listen I mean, one is
going to be a horse, one's goingto be a rodeo clown, one's
going to be a barrel saddle yeahyeah, exactly, I mean it's not
that difficult.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
It's going to be like
.
It's going to be like thekentby one was.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Which was, I mean,
god mint julep.
I mean, come on, I mean, whenthey showed Churchill Downs and
the dude was just looking at it,I'm like it's Churchill Downs
where the freaking race takesplace.
Now, mind you, my dad.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
That was yet another
one where the player completely
zoned out, didn't notice histurn, and sometimes the audience
said something and he was like, right, uh, uh, pass, now I have
to.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
So much time wasted I
have to admit my dad, I growing
up my dad was hugely into horseracing, so much so.
So I knew like almost everysingle one of those.
I mean we still go everyweekend to belmont and aqueduct
in new york and I mean I'velived at the racetrack as a kid.
Whether that was healthy or notis another story, but um, yeah,
(44:33):
I, I, I was like men drew up, Iwas like derby hat, I was like
I was like as fast as I could.
And then when I got tochurchill downs, I'm like dude,
really, I mean it's prettyiconic of a place.
So louisville, louisville, likeyeah, even kentucky.
I was like really man, likereally you don't know, like
where.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
So yeah, but people
won't remember that because
they'll just remember stevenspielberg and oh, that was just
just so, that was that is true Ifelt, but honestly I felt bad
for the guy it was.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
That was rough but
there were some duels that I
think both like both of us wouldhave done really well on tv.
Moms and dads, those twocategories I think both of us
would have kind of kicked button and there was another
category early in the episodethat they crushed it.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
I mean, they got like
almost every one right back and
forth.
I can't remember which one itwas I don't remember offhand
either it was a battle.
Yeah, because there was eightdifferent ones from this each
episode but collect collectiblesI loved, I mean that's the one
I wanted to talk aboutCollectibles.
I have never had a moresatisfying hate watch category
(45:52):
than watching him lose hiscollectibles.
Oh yes, oh, my God, rootingagainst him Me too.
Oh hard, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (46:01):
What a cocky ass yeah
.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
For three episodes.
At least two.
Come on, dude on, dude, come on.
This is my category.
I know it better than anybodyand, oh man, I was nervous for a
little bit that I was that shewasn't going to pull it off did
you see his fucking?
Started.
She said.
Nothing will make me happierthan beating him in his own
(46:25):
category, and oh that was justso satisfying.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
Did you see his face
walking off that stage when he
lost?
He?
Speaker 2 (46:33):
could not he reggie
miller did it.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
He couldn't believe
it, but let me say this from a
perspective of you and he didabsolutely choke.
He he's charlie is pointing tothe choke it you and I have
again and we're self-grandizingand I'm self-grandizing.
I won't say that for Charlie, Iam.
We were both on, we Are Family.
We were both in the presence ofother contestants for a long,
(46:59):
extended period of time filminga game show.
How annoying do you have to befor people to actually go on
camera and say I want to get ridof you for?
Speaker 2 (47:17):
a game show, and
other people were openly rooting
against him before it startedtoo.
Speaker 1 (47:24):
You guys don't
understand when, and necessarily
if you haven't been on, butwhen the cameras are off, we're
just hanging out at a hotel andenjoying each other's company.
There's no competition.
We not at least I speak for thetrue crew we're not hating on
each other, we're just reallygetting to know each other and
hanging out Like spouses wouldcome into town.
I met Rosie and I met uh, um,um, oh I.
(47:47):
I hate having a brain fart, butyou know what I'm talking about
husband, it's just that's whatit's about.
So, for somebody and we had yes, he was and since I have
somebody, I was going to talk toyou offline about that.
I'm not saying another word, but I agree, charlie just texted
(48:10):
me something and I'm not goingto repeat it.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Possible deniability.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Possible deniability.
But I absolutely agree with you, buddy, talk about it.
But to have people not like youand we, you know there might
have been a contestant or twothat rubbed people, rightly so,
the wrong way, because they werelet's say yeah, Steve from
Collectibles.
Speaker 2 (48:37):
Yes, like Steve in
Collectibles, so how bad is it
that that was a great category,by the way.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
It was.
I mean listen, I Listen.
It was an easy category, you'reshowing stamps and coins what?
Was the third one.
What was it?
You don't remember.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
Baseball cards no.
Speaker 1 (48:58):
The third one.
Can you explain it?
I don't know.
I don't remember a crap likeyou do.
Why would I?
Speaker 2 (49:04):
be asking you.
Speaker 1 (49:08):
Hats?
Why is would I be asking youHats?
Why is he asking me what?
Oh, music CDs.
What's my head doing?
Your head banging?
Speaker 2 (49:22):
Okay, but you tap it
and then it oh, bobbleheads,
there we go.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
See how slow I am.
What is going on with me, mindyou folks?
Speaker 2 (49:34):
I'm going to tell you
straight up it's 2.30.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
It's 2.13 Eastern
Time.
Speaker 2 (49:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:40):
I mean, come on, so
it is.
Yeah, it's a quarter after twoin the morning, it was a good
category.
But yes, bobblehead, I mean Iand and they showed weird
bobbleheads, but okay, yeah, Imean it was like yeah, like the
knockers, like the, yeah, likethe old I have I have.
I have a couple of thoseactually, um, interesting, um,
(50:03):
but yeah, I, I'm more so for theperson to get eliminated.
I, I was like I just watchingit on tv for five minutes.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
I'm like, oh, this
guy was annoying as hell to be
around for yeah, I was runningagainst him last week before he
even got to go.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
I mean, I guess he
got his tv time, as I don't know
if I want to be portrayed as atotal ass, but okay, but yes to
your off-screen point.
Absolutely, and that's all I'llsay.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
And Brian wins again,
he's up to 80K.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Yep and he lives to
see another day and he's up to
12 pieces Is he going to do?
Speaker 2 (50:45):
you think he plays?
Speaker 1 (50:46):
one or two more to go
for the time boost again.
Well, I mean, they did preview,I will tell you.
They previewed, like in thebeginning, that someone gets up
to $120,000 just from daily.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
So he's got to win
two more.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
He's got to win two
more, I mean it's great spoiled,
yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
So that means that I
mean he's got lots of choices.
Let's be honest it makes sensefor him to win two more battles,
get the time boost and then goback to the floor, take a knee
again it does Defend rodeo.
Speaker 1 (51:20):
Listen, I mean, if
you have all that money on the
line, I'm going back to my hotelroom and studying, like
everything Having to do withrodeo.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
So he might not need
to.
He's already got 80.
He's about to get 120, so he'sgonna end up with half of what
the winner gets.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
He basically has what
Adam on we Are Family got and
he really almost didn't have todo anything to get it he also
has.
Adam was our biggest winnereverybody won on the traders
yeah, which is crazy.
Speaker 2 (51:51):
Yeah, what a small
like I know I I wanted to
mention that that they need todo something about increasing
that.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
They're probably four
people is what I think they get
a base just to go on, becausethey're kind of celebrities.
Speaker 2 (52:08):
A couple thousand a
week and then a couple hundred
per diem.
Speaker 1 (52:12):
Going back to Amazing
Race real quick.
So they did a fork in a roadI'm mentioning this for a
specific reason.
They did a fork in a road wherethey would have two parallel
races ending, where they wouldhave two winners and then two
people that go home.
The two winners each winner, you get a prize, usually when
you win your leg on the amazingrace.
(52:33):
The prize this week to win onthe amazing race $3,000.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Wow Big money.
Speaker 1 (52:43):
I did that in 20
minutes on trivial pursuit.
I didn't have to run acrossHong Kong.
It's all about perspective,right yeah?
Speaker 2 (52:52):
exactly.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Yeah, just it, that's
it.
It's so funny, yeah, but yeah,so real quick.
Spring training is going on.
Speaker 2 (53:09):
How are the Cubs
doing?
Speaker 1 (53:10):
Pretty well, they're
one week away from leaving for
Japan To start the season andthen to come back to spring
training again.
But yeah, I'm seeing places togo to watch the game in person
like tickets and stuff.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
I saw one
advertisement, one advertisement
their watch party somewhere.
You're going at 6 am in florida.
What do you think?
No, I think you'll be sleeping.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
I just like two hours
yeah, you should talk I get
more sleep than you, I think uh,I, you know, sometimes I think
you're up at like four o'clockin the morning, sleep texting
Sometimes, yeah.
But yeah, you're right, youprobably do get a little bit
more sleep than I do, because Iwake up and there are texts in
(53:58):
the morning.
You're usually up before mesometimes.
But yeah, I mean I'm excitedfor are we going tonight?
We're going tonight's, today'sFriday, I'm excited for tonight.
We're going.
Today's Friday, we're going tosee the Mets and the Nationals
play and it's a bobblehead is itan evening game or a day game?
it's an evening game, 6.05interesting spring training
(54:19):
night game.
Nice, which city it's in WestPalm.
Thank god it's the closest one, because I don't like driving at
night.
I don't know if you know thatabout me.
Speaker 2 (54:28):
How far does that
drive?
Speaker 1 (54:30):
55 minutes about.
Speaker 2 (54:32):
Oh, that's, nothing
Okay.
I mean on the way home, atleast at that hour.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
It's straight, it's
straight up 95.
It's not too bad.
Um, yeah, um, it's actually theclosest park to us.
You have, uh, west Palm, jupiter, port st lucie and on
sunday we're going to port stlucie, uh, to see the mets.
Um, I forgot who they'replaying, but it's a bobblehead,
not a bobblehead, a rally towelgiveaway.
But uh, yes, hoping to get cjabrams bobblehead today, and if
(55:00):
I do, one is yours, I will sendit to you and uh, two promo
spring training games.
That's pretty pretty good odds Ididn't know spring training
games did that that often youknow, I in the past I haven't
really seen it, which isinteresting.
Um, they have a couple.
I have done a couple in thepast, but they've never been
huge.
You know prizes that they giveaway.
(55:22):
They usually kind of like theriley towel, frankly.
Um, so to get bobbleheads, Ithink when I'm gathering from
seeing the advertisement I thinkthese are national bobbleheads
that they just didn't haveenough people coming to the park
to give away.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
No, I think you're
right.
I think they're the same onesfrom last season.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
Yeah, so.
Speaker 2 (55:40):
They probably just
made way more than they expected
, or they purposely did it togive away at spring training.
Speaker 1 (55:47):
Listen, I'm not.
So.
The CJ Abrams one, I think, isthe best one of the bunch.
That.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
CJ Abrams will always
have a place in my heart
because I know you remember thestory.
No, tell it, tell it.
I was, I was.
We were going to the CubsNationals game and he wasn't in
the lineup for some reason.
We didn't really know, and thestory broke in the seventh
inning during the game that hewas out at the casino the night
before in chicago.
(56:14):
So I'm I mean now forever.
Literally the story breaks thegame.
We're playing them while he'sbenched like.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
That's something
you'll remember, so by the way,
speaking of chicago real quick, did you get that homage shirt
that I sent you for Ted Lasso?
Speaker 2 (56:30):
I actually did, had
already seen that email.
I did not get one yet.
Just yet, I had just ordered aRex and one front one from them.
Speaker 1 (56:38):
So that shirt is sick
.
Speaker 2 (56:41):
It's sure there's a
Miami one too, yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Miami one.
So, yeah, that's cool, allright.
So do you have anything elseyou want to talk about?
Speaker 2 (56:52):
Oh, we're just
getting close to baseball season
.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
Can't wait.
Mets and Marlins have anexhibition game coming up in a
couple of weeks, when you're inArizona and I'm in New York and
the Mets are opening up againstthe Washington Nationals.
No, the Mets are opening upagainst the Houston Astros in
Houston and the Cubs are openingup in a couple of weeks in
(57:16):
Tokyo against the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (57:20):
Who are they opening
up against home?
What's that?
Speaker 1 (57:23):
Who are the Cubs
opening up at home, their home
opener?
Speaker 2 (57:26):
Their home opener
isn't until Early April that is
against San Diego.
Okay, the.
Padres the Cubs go to Arizonaand then Oakland, while
Sacramento Interesting the Metsare going to Sacramento too.
Early in the season, Early yeah, which is weird because it's
really the only West Coast teamthey're playing at that time the
(57:48):
Cubs at that time eight gamesbefore they've played at wrigley
even though I think the metsare like that too even though
technically the two games injapan are home games I think we
share that, though the mets, Ithink, are opening the same time
as the cubs at home.
I think we're on that sametrack yeah, you guys play two
series away and then home Ireally have had.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
Have had the itching
to travel a little bit and I'm
bummed that we're not playingyou guys for a while, because I
would have, would have been easy.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Uh oh, let's go to
chicago there's always the
brewers or the white socksthat's true.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
I looked at the
schedule um, the mets are going
to be, like I said, insacramento.
They're going to be in umhouston, uh, I think they're
going to be in, uh, st louis, stlouis, um, st louis is drivable
, I know, I know, but do wereally want to go to bush
stadium?
Speaker 2 (58:41):
only if you've never
been, I mean it's, I mean I've
never been.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
But seeing the mats
is seeing the the Mets, it's
true, but yeah, I guess they'renot, as I don't know.
Well, we'll talk, all right.
So have a great week, buddy, you too.
