SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hey everyone, welcome to Pro DJ Publishing's
Home Business Hustle Episode.
I'm DJ Mikey D, and today we'regoing solo to answer one of the
most common questions I get inmy inbox.
We got a message from Angelo inSan Francisco who asked, Can you
really make money from home?
And I'm here to tell you theanswer is a resounding yes.
This isn't some theoreticalconcept.

(00:22):
This year alone, more thanforty-seven million people in
the United States are likely tostart their own home based
business.
Think about that number.
Forty seven million, that couldbe your neighbor posting social
media content all day or someoneflipping car parts on eBay.
It's anyone with that drive, that entrepreneurial spirit to
make it work, and honestly, thatcould be you.
Now another listener, Gary fromMadison, Wisconsin, had a more

(00:45):
specific question.
He wanted to know how to build amobile DJ business to replace
his work income, and this onereally hits home for me because
that's exactly how I started.
I launched my mobile DJ businessas a part-time venture, just a
few gigs each month.
What I discovered was that mostclient meetings happened in the
evenings, which was perfectbecause it gave me that

(01:07):
flexibility.
I could stack cash gradually andthen reinvest those earnings
back into better equipment, marketing, you name it.
But here's the practical part.
How do you actually figure outyour path?
You start with a simplecalculation.
Let's say you make thirty fivedollars an hour at your day job,
working eight hours, that's twohundred and eighty dollars per
day.
That number right there, that'syour magic number.

(01:29):
Your magic number becomes yourdaily income target when you're
building your business.
For a mobile DJ like Gary, orlike I was starting out, this
means turning prospects intopaying clients.
Let me break this downpractically.
If ten potential clients callyou about DJ services and they
each give you a deposit, typically twenty five to fifty

(01:51):
percent of your total quote, youcan easily hit that two hundred
and eighty dollar daily target.
Suddenly that day job incomedoesn't seem so out of reach,
does it?
And the beautiful thing is thereare so many creative ways to
create daily income from home.
It's not just about DJing.
It could be consulting, creatingdigital products, teaching
online courses.

(02:11):
The possibilities are endlessonce you understand this basic
math.
Stay tuned, I will be posting anextended discussion at
ProDJPublishing dot com where Iwill include a PDF cheat sheet
with notes to help you tovisually see the numbers in
action.
You will also have a resourcepage to give you insights to
make positive cash right away tohelp you reach your magic

(02:32):
number.
Okay, back to the show.
Now, people often ask me aboutthe benefits of working for
yourself beyond just the money.
I had an older retired militaryfriend who once told me the only
reason to be in business is tomake money, period.
And while there's truth to that, according to the Small Business
Administration, forty fivepercent of people cite a desire

(02:53):
to improve their quality of lifeas their main reason for being
self employed.
That's nearly half of allentrepreneurs.
Think about that.
It's not just about the dollars.
It's uh it's about flexibility, control over your schedule,
being there for your kids'school events, avoiding that
soul crushing commute.
That's quality of life.
When I was building my DJbusiness, the money was

(03:14):
important, sure, but what reallykept me going was knowing I
could design my life around whatmattered to me.
I could take a Tuesday off if Iwanted to, or work late on a
project that excited me.
So for Angelo and San Franciscoand Gary and Madison, and for
anyone else listening who'swondering if this home business
thing is real, I'm telling youit absolutely is.
Start with your magic number, figure out what service or

(03:36):
product you can provide fromhome, then focus on converting
prospects into paying clients.
It's a process, but forty sevenmillion Americans can't be
wrong.
Remember, whether it's DJing, consulting, creating content, or
whatever gets you excited, thetools are there, the market is
there.
The question is, are you readyto take that first step?

(03:57):
Thanks for tuning in to HomeBusiness Hustle.
If you have questions aboutstarting your own home based
business, drop me a line.
Until next time, keep hustlingand remember your freedom is
waiting on the other side ofthat magic number.
