From the Athens Clarke County News Facebook page. Legal proceedings
are underway as three teenagers face charges relating to a
drive by shooting that occurred last year at a West
Side apartment complex. 18 year old Tonio Jackson from Royal Court,
19 year old Jerry and Daniel residing on Catalpa Way,
and 18 year old Demetrius Collins from Jefferson Road, have
each been indicted for aggravated assault. Tim Hodgson said teens
(04:42):
guns give me a break. I grew up in this
town and have lived in NYC and Atlanta before returning home.
Nothing seems more dangerous in today's world than a black
teen with a gun and a grudge. That's right. I
mentioned the race as I've rarely done before. Oh, how
I wish it were not true. Georgia is a cesspool, replied.
I've never defended violent actions. I've only ever pointed out
that our justice system doesn't work, and tackling poverty is
(05:04):
the first step in ending crime. What is appalling is
your racist rhetoric. I wish you people could hear yourselves.
The privilege running through these comments never fails. This spring,
the University of Georgia achieved remarkable success, with 11 undergraduates

while two are part of the Russian flagship program. Additionally,
nine students are majoring or minoring in international affairs, reflecting
the diverse academic interests of UGA Bourne scholars. This from

third baseman and outfielder Charlie Condon has been named a
semifinalist for the 2024 Golden Spikes Award, US baseball announced
(06:10):
last week. Condon, also the 2024 SEC player of the year,
is one of 25 athletes vying for this prestigious honor,
awarded to the nation's top amateur baseball player. Leading the
NCAA in multiple categories, including batting average and home runs,
Condon has been instrumental for the ninth ranked Bulldogs. The
award will be presented on June 22nd on ESPN, just

before the College World Series finals. Fans can vote for
their favorite players starting today at Golden Spikes Award. Com.
And finally, Deputy Devin Blair responded to a report of
a disorderly person at Walmart where a 27 year old
Athens woman claimed that she was struck on the head
with a pan by an employee. She alleged the employee
(06:51):
refused to check the price after she disputed it at checkout.
The employee stated the customer began recording him, and the
pan accidentally slipped from his hand while trying to return it.
After reviewing the incident on video in slow motion, Deputy
Blair confirmed the pan did slip and did not hit
the woman. No arrests were made. This from the Athens Banner-herald.
