let's be honest, the only thingwe want gaining weight is our
wallets.
From medical weight loss andnutrition coaching to body
contouring, we help MetroAtlanta women get real results.
(00:24):
Let's dive in.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
The number on the
scale does not tell the full
story.
Here's how 3D body scanninggives you a clearer, more
motivating view of your results.
Welcome back.
I'm Millie M, co-host producerhere with licensed nutritionist
and clinic owner, katina Wilson.
How are you, katina?
Speaker 3 (00:48):
I am great.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
How are you today
Doing?
Well, glad to hear it,wonderful, wonderful.
So can you please tell me andall of our listeners, how does
the STYKU 3D body scanner trackweight loss progress?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Yeah, so think about
it.
When you're're losing weight, what's the first thing you do?
You want to step on a scaleright, you know, and so that's
for a lot of people, that's themagic number.
Well, we try to use this tool.
It's a 3d body composition tool, and so not only does it look
at that magic number that we'reall looking for, which is the
number on the scale, but itactually also tracks the inches
(01:24):
all the way from your neck downto your ankles.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
So it looks at your
inches.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
It looks at the
amount of fat that you're
carrying, so for your overallbody weight, it looks at
percentage of fat, percentage ofmuscle, visceral fat, right, so
it just breaks down.
You know all of these componentsthat make you you, and so we
use this for all of our weightloss packages and body
contouring packages, and soevery month when people come in
(01:52):
to track their progress, we havethem step on the machine.
It takes about 45 seconds forit to do kind of a full body
composition analysis and we'reable to see how you progress.
The weight that you're losingis it muscle or is it fat?
You know, hopefully it's fatand if it's not fat, then we can
talk about like some thingsthat people can do.
We can also look at inches loss.
(02:12):
We literally just had agentleman a few minutes ago and
again he didn't lose like awhole lot of weight like this
first month on our program, butwhen he stepped on the Syku we
actually saw that he lostsignificant amount of inches
from his neck, from his biceps, from his waist definitely his
waist and his thighs.
So he's moving in the rightdirection.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I bet that's exciting
for people to see the before
and after and how their bodychanges.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Oh yeah, and it gives
you a visual look of and you
actually see not only all thesenumbers, but then it also shows
you visually what your bodylooks like.
So he can see, like a month ago, what his body looks in
comparison to what his bodylooks like now, and when he
comes in again from a month fromnow we'll be able to do the
same and we'll be able to trackthat progress kind of month over
month.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
I imagine it to look
like the body scanner at the
airport.
What do you actually do?
Do you stand on something?
Is it a laser?
Describe it for me.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Yeah, so it is a
laser.
So you stand on this turnstileand you have to hold your arms
out and the machine prompts youand once it's ready it'll say
hold still.
And then it'll slowly spin youaround.
So you're not spinning aroundso fast where you're going to
get dizzy, but it will slowlyspin around because, to your
earlier question, it is using alaser to get this imprint of
(03:26):
your whole entire body and thenyou step off, it pulls up your
results and then it even emailsthe results.
We keep the results here inclinic, but then patients can
also go back and take a look atthe results once they get home
and again we can compare monthover month.
So, from where you started, asyou're progressing across your
weight loss journey, we can seeyour BMI, which we know
(03:47):
sometimes is flawed, but it is ameasure that a lot of medical
professionals use.
We can see your weight, we cansee percentage of fat, we can
see percentage of muscle.
We can see inches, again, fromneck all the way down to your
ankles, right.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
So it's pretty
precise.
And are the different parts ofyour body color coded Like does
muscle show up one?
Speaker 3 (04:08):
color Fat shows up
one color, it starts to show up.
It shows up green.
So when you first start out,you know it'll tell you, hey,
you're kind of outside of therange for somebody.
That's your age and your gender, and so it'll highlight that
and of course that'll be red, green or yellow and it'll tell
you if you're at risk or if youhave high risk.
But over time, as you'retrending down, things become
green.
(04:29):
If you're going the wrong way,it will turn red right.
And then sometimes, because, depending upon what people wear
or even their hair so for me, ifI were to do the scan, I would
need to pull my hair up so thatit doesn't try to measure my
neck with the hair right.
And if it can't tell becauseit's like, wait, you, you know
you're way out of alignmentcompared to last time, you know
(04:50):
it'll flag that, it'll turn thatorange, and so we'll know the
next time you just let's justmake sure we pull up your hair
so that we get kind of anaccurate result of either your
neck or whatever you're wearing.
We tend to tell people to wearkind of athletic gear, you know,
yoga pants, biker shorts, tanktops, that sort of a thing.
That way we get you know thebest possible results and the
more accurate picture of yourbody.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Technology to the
rescue.
So what are the most surprisingresults you've seen with
clients in the scanner that thescale doesn't reveal?
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Well, so people who
are using our body contouring as
an example right, they'retrying to build muscle, so it's
kind of the reverse, right.
So with them it's great to see.
Okay, this is where you started.
You know you're losing theweight.
Now you're trying to build someof that muscle.
Back eight sessions.
You can see the 15 to 20%increase in the amount of muscle
(05:50):
that you're carrying in yourbody as a result of our body
contouring machines.
And again, we use a stycu totrack not only weight loss, but
we're also using it to track theeffectiveness of the body
contouring machines as well.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Just depends on what
your goals are.
Do you track like posture andalignment and things like that
as well?
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Oh yeah, you can see
if you've got good posture or
not, you know, and so it'll showyou.
So, like for me, my postureisn't always the greatest, so
I'm trying to do like more yogaand Pilates and things like that
, so it does track all of thatas well.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I have scoliosis, so
it'll show me a little wonky.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
It might show that
because it's's again, it's doing
a full body scan, from head totoe absolutely.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Can you tell us about
one of the most memorable
success stories you've seen witha client using that styco
machine?
Speaker 3 (06:33):
yeah, I think for a
lot of people, especially like
that first time, it's veryeye-opening.
We did have a client and theywere wanting to lose some weight
and I think the thought processwas I've got a few pounds to
lose.
But then when they actually sawtheir measurements they
realized that they were carryinga much higher percentage of fat
(06:53):
than muscle than they realized.
So it really encouraged them tonot only get on the program to
lose the weight but to also getinto the gym and start building
that muscle, because the muscleis important.
It's important not only forjust feeling good and looking
great and having that tonedphysique, but for also just
having a better metabolismoverall.
And so I think for a lot ofpeople it can be a little
humbling, especially that firsttime you get on there, because
(07:16):
again it's showing everythingand not just the number on the
scale.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I would imagine it
being a perfect way to stay
motivated, and I could see thatbeing my favorite part of coming
to Atlanta Wellness Clinic.
Great oh absolutely Awesomeservice you guys are offering.
Thank you so much.
