Ladies and gentlemen, you are listening to a DHP that's
attention deficit hyperactive politics.

(01:10):
Will you please welcome your hosts, Doug Robinson, Todd
Sellers and Brandon Popson? 27th edition of the ADHP podcast
with my good friends Todd Sellers, Brandon Popson.
I'm Doug Robinson. How you guys doing?

(01:31):
Doing good, doing good. Doing all right.
Been a long, long week at work here, but you know, doing all
right. I I just got back about 9:00 PM
last night from a from being in Maryland for the since what
Wednesday that night? Oh.
Yeah, and I am some baseball, right?
Football, Football. Football, Football.

(01:52):
For the. Yeah.
Was that the Washington, MD game?
Yeah. Oh OK, I saw something about.
Washington is in the Huskies or the Cougars.
As in the Huskies, Yes. All right on, GO DOGS.
Yeah, I do explain playing that all the time over there.
So it'd be like, yeah, I'm a Washington fan.
And they'd be like, Oh yeah, I love the Commanders.
No, the other Washington. Yeah, the state.

(02:15):
I'm still jet lane it. It feels like it's 10:30 or if
not fucking midnight to me rightnow.
It didn't help that I slept likethe only sleep I've had is like
a couple hours on the plane and then whatever I could get last
night. No, I mean we just out doing
stuff. Or, I mean, well, you just
couldn't. Well we the plane we didn't, I

(02:37):
didn't get home until 11:00 PM or so last night and then just
couldn't get to sleep right awayand woke up early and just oh
man, it's been a day. I was good this morning but at
around 5 PMI just hit a wall. Yeah, I can imagine that you've
been up for a while, so that makes sense.

(02:59):
Yeah, I was telling these guys before the show I had all these
plans and thoughts about stuff Iwanted to cover this week, and
now it's just gone. It's all poofed into brain fog
so. Yeah.
Yeah, it's it had a long week too, so I'm I'm right there with
you. But we do.
We did manage to come up with some stories.
We got. We got some news for you.

(03:20):
Obviously we were going to play some Florida and then we're
going to end the show with the geek news this time, Yeah.
Because up a little bit, I thinkthe last couple weeks the, the
Florida or not was kind of they were kind of a downer.
So I was like, you know, maybe we should end this this week on
on the Geek News. I mean, it's not a terrible
idea. So I mean, not that I remember

(03:44):
any of the of the Florida stories of what you know, which
ones I have and which ones are actually Florida or not.
So I'll find out when we start that bit, so.
By the way, I just want to say Maryland was awesome.
The people were awesome. It's one of the first places
I've been where literally everywhere I go, I'm a minority
person and it life was better. It was, it was just the food was

(04:11):
better, the the people were friendlier.
It was. It was great.
They they have spice there in Maryland, I take it.
It's called Old Bay. They are.
They are hella into Old Bay in Maryland.
It's crazy. Like even when I got off the
plane in Seattle, coming back from Baltimore, somebody from

(04:32):
Baltimore got off with me in an Old Bay T-shirt.
Like every every restaurant, they're like the ingredients are
whatever the food is. Plus Old Bay every time.
Yeah. Oh yeah.
I mean, I love Old Bay. I put on a popcorn.
I put it I there's Old Bay chipsthat I buy sometimes.
I saw those. I saw those all over the grocery
store. I.
Bought, I bought. Oh yeah, from.

(04:52):
That that store one time. You know Old Navy's cool though,
right? Old Navy I I, I was just eating
snow crab today and I, I, I do melted butter with Old Bay in
it. So I had a blue crab while I was
over there. That's what they specialize in

(05:13):
is the Chesapeake Bay blue crab.It is.
It's practically lobster in in in terms of flavor and feel
like. I really, I guess I've heard
good things about them. I like I like Dungeness the
best. Same I.
I've never been a crab guy, likeI'm definitely more a lobster
guy than a crab guy. And this blue crab was way more
my style. Like Dungeness people.

(05:33):
I definitely I'm not going to dispute Dungeness being better
it it probably is. I don't know if it's better.
I don't know if it's better. I don't know.
Here's the thing. I've never really had a bunch of
blue crab. Funny enough, right on the
street from me at the Asian market, they sell live ones.
So now I mean it might need to buy some.
Yeah, like it was. The crab cake's perfect.
I had a a crab bisque with lump crab on top and it was Oh my

(05:55):
fucking God. Blew my mind.
I I'm not into bisque. I tried a lobster biscuit.
I was just if you're if you're alittle bisque guy is out of
biscuit. That's a girl, a biscuit.
A girl's biscuit. Yeah, yeah.
Anyhow. I'm.

(06:15):
Hungry again? I added some new some new images
to a slideshow. I don't know if you guys noticed
last week or not. No, I I wasn't.
Yeah. I threw in some some random like
Trump memes and some of the morenice current ones too.
Now playing the Epstein files. But no, I want to go to Maine

(06:38):
and eat lobster. I used to go to the East Coast
every once in a while. I haven't been in forever
though. But I I do love me some East
Coast food. So Speaking of the Epstein
files, you did have a Brandon, you had a little bit of a update
on that. I, you know, I'm I, I.
Need. To I need to research this a

(06:59):
little bit more because I just saw the tweet.
I'm not gonna I just saw a tweeton Reddit, which is not, you
know, my, my typical I, I might see something Reddit, but I
typically have more like, I go more into it, but I didn't do it
on this one because I didn't have time.
But apparently Thomas Massie from this tweet picture the
quote says the government is shut down, but the House refuses

(07:21):
to go back into session. Why are we in recess?
Because the day we go back into session, I have 218 votes for
the discharge petition to enforce a vote on releasing the
Epstein files at Speaker. Johnson doesn't want this to be
the news. Which now I think about it, I
think I heard something about this right before they did shut
down. Right.
No, this is actually true. When the Democrats won that

(07:43):
special election, which was thatin Arizona or where was that?
Yeah, the woman that Mike Johnson did not want to turn.
They, yeah, they, they went, they, they didn't see her right
away. They took, yeah, that she was
the 218th vote once she won thatelection.
So they, they didn't see her until the government shut down,

(08:03):
so that they didn't get the votebefore the shutdown.
And then now once the governmentcomes back, yes, that is, he
does have the votes provided something doesn't change between
now and then, right? Somebody, somebody could be
bribed or threatened or whatever.
Yeah, who knows? Who knows with this with.
This in this day and age, it's it's yeah, in this day and age,
it's Joker's Wild and the. Government.

(08:24):
It's really all on the fucking table, isn't it?
And the worst part is they coulddo it and that his his his
wouldn't care. Say that again.
Oh and they could do some shit like that and his cult wouldn't
care if they were to. Like, literally.
They don't even know. They wouldn't know.
They wouldn't understand. I mean, they think they'd

(08:45):
understand if they just want to give a shit.
I don't know if they would. Even Yeah, I think that's how it
works for him, is that the people that follow him just
don't even really know how shit works and they don't understand
what they're being told. Oh.
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm so torn on that.
Guys probably knows you're right, but I don't want to admit
that because that would mean we're so much Dumber in this
country than I want to fucking admit I.

(09:08):
Mean you got to keep in mind that a lot of people believe
that the other countries pay thetariffs and not us.
Yeah, yeah. No, there is.
I was just thinking about that the that the other day about how
the the right pedals so much misinformation and that is that
is simply the point. Yeah.
And they don't. Care if you call it out because

(09:31):
the whole point is just don't believe anything you hear.
Only trust the people who you trust.
And exactly. And then since you already trust
Trump, you just go with his narrative.
Yeah. Oh my God.
I forgot what we were talking about.
We're just people. But I do want to, I do want to
clarify that I don't think everybody on the Trump side is
confused and doesn't understand things.

(09:52):
I think that's a large swath of it.
There's also a separate group ofpeople that fully understand
what's going on and are are justtolerating it because they're
getting what they want, IE tax cuts, IE, brutalizing
immigrants, IE, you know, all the different grifs that they're
grifs that they're pulling. And right there's there's
definitely people that are cynically using Trump as well.

(10:12):
Oh yes, absolutely. I tried to make some soju in
this beer and it didn't work. So oh, some some soju.
Is that a rice wine? No, it's a plum.
It's supposed to be a plum one. It's some kind of a fake soju.
Wrong type of beer. I just tried it because I was

(10:33):
curious because they chose a citrus soju but I started the
IPA hoping would like add the citrus flavor.
It did not it probably. Just got swallowed from.
The ITA. Now it tastes like a fart.
Yeah, I I love Ipas. Be nice in my IPI like Oh no I
like some Ipas. You know what I like about Ipas?

(10:55):
They have a high ABV. You know, that is a good side to
to too. But I I like the flavor on the
anything from the Georgetown Brewing Company from like the
Boda Vistas or the Lucille's that.
Company George sounds great, yeah.
Other than that, most of the IP as I really don't like.
They're they're too bitter and hoppy for me.

(11:16):
Yeah. I'm not.
I mean, I'll drink them. I'm not a beer guy because I
don't, Yeah, I, I mean, I had myroommate handed me a dark beer
the other day. It's kind of like a, like a,
like a Guinness, but it wasn't Guinness.
It was another brand. And it was, it wasn't terrible,
but I, I, I struggled to drink the whole thing.
I'm not a huge fan of Guinness or any super super crazy dark

(11:39):
beer. I I'm not my style either.
I do like dark beers, but when Iwas in Maryland we were drinking
Yingling, which is. I've had that.
Yeah, it's from the oldest brewery in America.
I I that was all they were fucking was in God damn Texas.
OK, so it's really? It's primarily northeast, but
yeah. Yeah, no, I want to say that's

(12:00):
all I could find down there in fucking Texas.
Like hear the word I I my business, my company sent me
twice to Texas to do training and and I've used to live in the
same area. I used to live in Arlington, TX
and they always sent me to Fort Worth and I hate that area.
But I will say this about Texas. Some of those best barbecue you

(12:22):
will ever have. I'm not going to knock that.
Texas has fucking amazing BBQ but for sure you cannot get a
good beer to save your life. You can't.
Amazing BBQ shit beer. Well, I should say in the in the
smaller areas you go to like Austin and stuff, I'm sure
that's way different, but smaller towns, Nah, like and

(12:42):
they have those are the best barbecue and you know, you're
like, oh, what do you have? You're like, oh bud, Bud Light
like, but what? You guys are drinking this piss
water with your fucking amazing BBQ?
Why? I'm like, you guys know supply
chains exists, right? All you got to do is like check
it on the order list and they will bring it to you.
You don't got to do anything. Yeah, I've never, I've never had

(13:06):
a, I've never had a beer in. Texas don't go to Texas.
That's my recommendation. I I give Texas a lot of shit.
In the words of Jimmy Buffett, if you ever get the chance to go
to Dallas, take it from me. Pass it by.
It don't, don't. There are cool parts of Texas,
like Austin's dopest shit. I'll give them that.

(13:26):
Austin is dope as hell, but it'slike a little Seattle and
generally the the rest of Texas doesn't look kind of on Austin
because they're basically like alittle Seattle, like another
day. But it's also becoming shittier
because it's it's a tech, it's atech center.
And and all the tech Bros are becoming far right.
And of course, Joe Rogan has setup his little fiefdom in Austin.

(13:48):
That is true, but it is still very.
But the thing about the tech center too, it's only going to
become so conservative because have you met a lot of
programmers? These are the, you know,
transsexual furries they're talking about.
What? Oh, there's a lot.
There's a lot of that scene in programming, like like a lot of
programmers are are are very different, diverse groups of

(14:11):
people. Well, that's the official
position of the podcast. Programmers are furries.
Programmers are first. I, I don't know how, how
divisive that statement's going to be.
I think there's going to be a little bit like, yeah, no shit.
All programmers are transferees.Prove me wrong.
You know what? I did not say that much.
But you know what? If you want to go for that one,

(14:32):
that would be 1 hell of an interesting debate.
Oh, I could win it every time because I could just twist the
words right? Because you say, well, I'm a
you're like, I'm a CIS straight white male and I program that
proves me wrong. Well, no, you're a trans furry.
You're on the other side of being a furry, which means
you're not a furry. Oh, got it.
Yeah. Oh, I like, I like that that.

(14:57):
That took me a second to catch up.
I was to wait. Whoa.
So years ago I I just I discovered this website
calledtshirthell.com if you've never been there.
I remember that, I remember that.
Do you remember what happened tothe dude?
What do you? Remember what happened to the
guy who made that website? No, you never heard the story.

(15:19):
Finish your story, then I'll go into mine.
So you guys are all talking about Texas and it immediately
reminded me of this T-shirt I saw on that website.
It says don't mess with Texas. It's not nice to pick on
retards. I remember that one.
But so the guy who made T-shirt hell.
So did you know T-shirt hell at all back in the day, Doug?

(15:39):
No, I've not heard of this. It is.
It was AT shirt. It was a website that was
catered selling these horrible, horrible T-shirt.
They were funny, but in the 13 year old edge Lord kind of way.
Like that was their that was before that was a thing.
That was their thing. Like there was a picture of a
honeymoon. Second, there was a picture of a
what was it, the Pillsbury Doughboy with a Hitler mustache

(16:02):
doing the Nazi saying a white flower?
My favorite other than the one Ijust told you about is the one
that shows a picture of Kiss in full makeup in like their
costumes from the 70s and it says Led Zeppelin at the bottom.
That's funny. And but they were known for
horrible, horrible, horrible T-shirts.
Yeah, the story was. And the guy who made the website

(16:25):
actually shared the story and somebody visened him at a bar.
What is Viseni? You know the stuff, the Visine
eye drops, it's very, very, verytoxic if you actually ingest it
it. Gives you the saline.
Just saline, isn't it just. Saline.
No it's not. There's stuff in there that will

(16:46):
straight up kill your ass. What?
Well, there's no way. I thought it was Visine, but eye
drops of some sort I think. But you're just like Visine and
stuff. Yeah, it will kill you.
Well, I don't know but. I don't know if.
It'll kill you, but I definitelyknow it gives.
You I can kill the shits maybe give you.
The no like no hold up. Oh no, hold on.
No, it would not be. I might have advised eye drops.

(17:10):
I know for a fact it gives you the shits because somebody did
it to me. They.
Put So you died, Todd. Did I?
Oh shit, that explains so fucking much.
Am I? I'm dead.
Yeah, you, you can literally kill people with it.

(17:30):
There was a woman who recently went to prison for killing her
husband with them. Well, I don't know if they gave
me enough to kill me. I know they.
They could put it in my eye, butI can't drink it.
Yeah, no, it. Yeah, literally it.
Changes my perspective on everything.
I am pretty sure it is tetrahyde.
And if I put it in my butt? Tetrahydrazoline.
There we go. Yeah.

(17:53):
Oh, it's yeah. Visine Original.
Yeah, but, but, but you get seizures.
Like body sabotage. Yep.
Death. Yeah.
So. But yeah.
Somebody advising him in a bar. Basically they dumped a bunch of
Visine into his, into his into his beer once they heard who he
was. Yeah, I.

(18:14):
Mean. Oh yeah, There's a story here,
2021, where somebody like they suspected it was vising that
killed somebody. It was.
It was. It was advertised as the most
offensive T-shirt shop in in theworld.
It was the most advisive T-shirtshop in the world.
It was, it was so far, you know,I would never still exist.

(18:34):
It's still, I was just on it. I was just looking at it.
Tshirthealth.com still exists. The guy did.
The guy did not give it up. Huh.
Well, I mean, he probably sold it to somebody else.
If anything, they have some really fucked up shirts on
there. Like the the one that I actually

(18:55):
I downloaded the image because Ithought it was funny, is Alice
In Chains, but it shows Alice from the The Brady Bunch.
Wonderland, oh oh. Jesus Christ, you went somehow
even darker. It was like, you know, so yeah,
it shows Alice from, from the Brady Bunch and like tied up and
like, you know, gagged mouth and, and chains around her

(19:18):
wrists and her ankles. Anyhow.
Yes. In In other news, Jane Goodall
has passed away. I heard about.
That that's not good news. I said in.
Other other news? Oh, I thought you said in other
good news, I was like, wait a minute, that wasn't good news.

(19:39):
Yeah, I saw, I saw that the other day.
I was like, Oh well that sucks. Good all news.
Good all. Oh yeah.
So she was. I was surprised to hear she was
actually on a speaking tour. She was in Los Angeles on a
speaking tour when she passed away.
That's a good way to go out. Still going strong.

(20:01):
Yeah, exactly. She was, she was, she was still
doing what she loved to do. What an what an influential
human being. And it's funny because like, I
remember growing up as a kid, like I feel like people mostly
made fun of her. I used to read her books.
And that she was like, oh, she'sa crazy like, and this is
probably the, the, the future MAGA that was, that was around

(20:24):
me as a kid, but they were just like, like, oh, she just hangs
out with monkeys. She doesn't even have a real
job. And she's, she's just silly and
like, like, they had me convinced that she was like
bothering the gorillas. Like, no, you mean chimpanzees?
Was it Chip? I thought she also hung out.
I thought she's lived with gorillas for a while.
Yeah, she was. Was it?
Chimpanzees. She was the one that did the
thing with the Silverbacks. I.

(20:47):
Could have sworn that she was. Well, she did.
She did work with chimpanzees too, 100% yeah.
I could have. I always knew her for the word.
She lived with. Yeah.
The, the chimpanzees, Tanzania, where she lived with them for,
like, years. Yeah.
Yeah, OK. I yeah, I'm sure she might have

(21:08):
done some stuff with the girls, but I could've just warned it
was 90% chimpanzees. I'm only seeing chimpanzees on
here, to be honest with you. It might be, yeah.
They. And also, did you cover the
Gumby chimp or. I remember that, Yeah.
It might be one of those Mandelaaffecting because I remember her
like going and living with like the silverbacks and shit.
Didn't they make a movie about her and she was like out like

(21:31):
watching the Silverbacks? I'm really I, I don't think she
did silverbacks. I think there was somebody else
who did the silverbacks. She I've only ever known good
old did. That's why I said she.
I mean, I wouldn't surprise me if she didn't work with gorillas
as well. She's a primatologist, after
all. OK, yeah, it was Diane Fossey
who lived with the gorillas. OK, OK.

(21:55):
Turn that down a little bit. The good olds are in the reasons
why I got interested in animals in the first place.
Yeah. Yeah.
Did she ever win like a, a any kind of Nobel Prize or anything?
I thought she did. Oh God it hold up now I'm I'm
sure. What awards did she get?

(22:17):
Jane Goodall has not won a NobelPrize.
Which is. Insane, although many have
campaigned for her too. I mean, yeah, she should.
Yeah. Speaking of Nobel Prizes, you've
heard how Trump is angling for aNobel Prize for his pending Gaza

(22:40):
peace deal. He's a Nobel.
He's nuts. He's.
Literally like he's literally the type of guy to like kick a
beehive, sell you raid and then be like and give me prize
please. I saved you from the bees.
I gave you the raid. Yeah, but you also.
Not the bees. Not the bees.

(23:03):
You also kicked. The You beat me to it.
You also kicked me, kicked the the the hive into my bedroom.
What the fuck? Yeah, right.
Not the where was it not the bees from?
Some that was from Wicker Man. Yeah, Oh.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Nicolas Cage.
I don't know how I fucking knew that right away.

(23:24):
So, oh, by the way, have you guys seen this Texas State Rep
James Talarico? I know about James.
Yeah, I, I am. I'm like, if he gets people
excited to vote for him and get Democrats elected, fine.
I'm kind of like leery of him. Why are you leery of him?
Because he has extreme, he has extreme youth pastor or pastor

(23:46):
energy like he's. Yes, he actually is very active
within his church. I actually was going anywhere
around that. He did this little thing on on
hey TikTok but I thought I'm Reddit because I don't have a
TikTok because I'm a 40 year oldman.
Hey, hey. I don't.
I don't have a TikTok either. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
We're waiting till we turn 50. I'm 54 and I've been on TikTok

(24:10):
for four years so you can kiss my.
Ass yes, like I said, we're waiting till we're 50.
There you go. But anyhow, he does his thing on
on basically a Christian talkingto Christian conservatives.
And I'm not going to lie, for somebody who's religious, it
didn't. I don't hate him immediately.
No, no, he's, he is great. I don't, I'm not like I'm not, I
don't begrudge him being a politician.

(24:31):
I just, I, I still am like, why do we have to like put
everything through this lens of.I don't but his even when he's
talking about Christianity he's not talking about he's even
blatantly anti Christian nationalist enough for me.
I don't care if people are Christian that's that's that's
fine. I just don't want them forcing
it on me. That's the issue.

(24:53):
Yeah, and, and again, like I said, he can, he can I, I'm
fully on board of him being on our side.
I just, I, I, when I listen to him, I feel like I'm, I feel
like I'm listening to the personthat's like, oh.
It's a body. Cut off it's It's OK that you
cut off my arm. I'm still going to help you lift
you up by the bootstraps. Yeah, or, or or like that.

(25:14):
Sits down there and put the chair backwards like, hey,
friends, let's rap about Jesus or something like that.
Yeah, I know. Yeah, I know.
I know exactly what you're talking about.
Anyhow, I need to grab a beer, you guys.
Next story. All right?
What? Go, go get, go get it.
What were you going to say, Todd?
I forgot already. Fair enough.

(25:35):
It don't matter. It's not like that.
It happens. So what do we want to do here
next? So we have a couple stories here
that are official government resistance within the Trump
administration. So the first one is the head of
the Eisenhower Library was forced out after a sword spat

(25:56):
with Trump. This is coming from the Military
Times. So Todd Arrington, he's the
director of the Dwight D Eisenhower Presidential Library.
He stepped down this past week. Excuse me, After a dispute with
the Trump administration over gifting a sword in the museum's
collection to King Charles So Arrington.

(26:17):
He's a Army veteran and a careerhistorian.
He previously held posts with the archives and the Records
Administration and National ParkService.
He was most recently at the James A Garfield National
Historic Site in Ohio. Was told Monday by an unnamed
supervisor to resign or be fired.
So he stepped down. What led up to, Yeah, what led
up to this is about a month ago. We'll remember that Trump went

(26:43):
to England to visit, to do official visit with the king and
queen, right? The King of England, he wanted
to give Eisenhower's sword as a gift to King Charles.
What? Which is insane.
It's insane. And also, by the way, illegal.
Yeah, and Arrington declined to release the sword or any other
original artifact on the groundsthat it belongs to the unit, to

(27:07):
the US government and by that way and by law is obligated to
be preserved for the American people, right.
So it literally he was standing up for the American people in
the face of Trump and then now they.
Forced him out. Oh man.
Do you know that Make Arrington?A hero.
In Indiana Jones, it belongs in the museum.

(27:28):
Though actually India, it belongs where you found it.
Yeah, that's true. We just tell you in the museum.
As as they used to say, take a picture, last longer.
Yeah, and then and then to go along with that, so this guy
gets fired for standing up to Trump.

(27:48):
We also have Trump has been going after New York attorney
general, AG attorney general. That's what AG means.
Letitia James, because she daredprosecute Trump right before he
became president. So already I'm.
Not gonna I've been keeping up on that too much.
Now he she, he's going. But his official reason been

(28:09):
going after James is some kind of mortgage fraud.
Well, he, he's instructed his, his district, his, his
attorneys, his District Attorney, the US District Court
attorneys to find a reason. Essentially, and they and they,
they just decided on on mortgagefraud something if for for Trump

(28:30):
to accuse anybody else of real estate shenanigans.
Oh, it's projection. It's absolutely projection.
Like he's trying to. He just wants to throw that out
there so that when you talk about his crimes, he could say,
well, just like, just like Latisha James, I guess, right?
Like he's like, I didn't do anything worse than she did,
even though she did nothing wrong.
So what? We've what we've, what's already

(28:51):
happened is, you know, he previously fired or forced to
resign the the US attorney for that district because he said
there there wasn't enough evidence.
So then they replaced him with somebody else.
Now that prosecutor is saying that that there's not a good
case here and and they wrote that nobody in the building

(29:14):
thinks there is a winnable case here.
OK. But Trump doesn't care because
once again, like I was saying earlier, the point is to put the
misinformation out there. So even the accusation is enough
for these 80s to cling on to it.And, and, and, and especially if
Trump says that's that, you know, that's, that's it all like
conspiracy, they believe it. Fuck, I'm trying to remember

(29:36):
what there was a a a conspiracy Trump just recently tweeted
about or truth about whatever and it pissed me off.
Fuck I I need to make better a nose.
Holy shit. Yeah, so, so to to recap here,
Trump installed the new, the newattorney Halligan, which is

(29:57):
Lindsay Halligan. He announced after he announced
2 weeks ago that he would fire the first acting attorney, which
he appointed to the post, which was Eric Siebert, who resisted
seeking fraud, choice charges against James and other charges
against Kobe. Siebert resigned September 19th,
so Trump then named Halligan, a White House aide and insurance
lawyer with no prosecutorial experience who had been

(30:20):
previously his personal defense lawyer, to replace Sieber.
A few days after taking the reins in the Eastern District,
Halligan sought and won the indictment of of comedy on
charges of lying to Congress andobstruction congressional
proceeding, a case Sieber and other office colleagues
considered too weak to charge. What's about to happen now with
this case with James is Elizabeth Usey, who overseas

(30:44):
major criminal prosecutions in the Norfolk office of the
Eastern District, has confided to Co workers that she sees no
probable cause to believe James engaged in any mortgage fraud.
And UC plans to present her conclusion to Halligan in the
coming weeks. So that's going to be the thing
to see what happens there when the, you know, when the the

(31:06):
career attorney tells the actingAG that there's no case here,
what happens then? That's a good question.
I mean, I, they're gonna, they're gonna get to a point
where they're just gonna make upa charge.
Is is my fear. Well, they are.
That's that's something I. Mean I'm hoping we have a mass,
a Saturday night massacre type thing here where just people

(31:28):
keep keep getting fired because they refuse to do it.
Like in the Nixon, I mean. Nixon situation when he ordered
his agency and the investigationand they all got fired until
finally somebody agreed to do it.
Yeah, I, that's, I, yeah, prettymuch what I could see happening
here. Or them just inventing a whole

(31:49):
new crime basically that they can try to pick pick her on with
or, you know, just calling her. They might go full fashion, just
call an enemy of the state at this point, who knows.
Oh yeah, she has antifa Tri antifa connections or something.
Yeah, yeah. Who knows?
You know, they won't get. They aren't going to give up.
They aren't going to at this point, they can't.

(32:10):
That's and. Of course.
Yeah, of course. With things like the Chicago
apartment raid, we see that the Trump administration is willing
to do anything. Well, I mean, I'd love to say
this would be a breaking point, but the government's done
terrible, terrible things like this before and unfortunately
nothing's ever come of it. I don't know if they've ever

(32:32):
done this one though. Like a Black Hawk helicopter in
Chicago pulling people out of their homes, zip tying them
naked in their underwear. And some of them were citizens.
Like this has to be a Fourth Amendment violation.
I believe the police one time dropped a bomb on civilians.

(32:54):
A bomb. Wow.
A bomb? Where was this?
What was this? This was a long time ago.
Let me look at this. Yeah, I think it was in Philly.
I want to say I just want. Yes.
Philadelphia. Yeah.
They dropped AC for a bomb into a bunch of row houses in May

(33:15):
13th, 1985. Yeah, if you, I mean if you, if
you look at this apartment building, it's kind of in that
class because they they ransacked every place like
completely destroyed. Yeah, my point is that they've
done shit like this before. And more to the point, none of
you guys, even both of you guys didn't even know about this,
which is saying something. You think people would talk

(33:36):
about shit like this, shit like this?
And that's my fear is that this what happened now in in Chicago,
what we talked about in less than, you know, 40 years.
I mean, I have a feeling this one's going in the history books
just based on the way it's beingcovered, but.

(33:57):
I hope so. I just what do you do for 4th
Amendment, you know, violations? What do you do for relief in
this situation? Well, what do you do when they
have all the cards you can't andthey, they're the ones who would
be doing the prosecuting, you know?
Yeah. It's hard to make them.
Yeah, that's the problem. They're, they're basically,

(34:17):
yeah, they're calling. They're they're, they're finding
that they have a de facto dictatorship when they have all
the you have. Levers of government, there's
nothing anyone that can really do to stop them.
Now, fortunately, like a right like we're we're going to see
right because a judge has recently ordered one.
Trump can't use National Guard from Portland OR from Oregon or

(34:40):
other states in Portland. And now Pritzker in Illinois is
suing to prevent National Guard from coming into Chicago and the
judges are approving them. Basically, with the way the
Trump administration is acting, 1 judge just said you can't send
the National Guard from anywhere.
Anywhere, like right for now, like so we'll see if they abide

(35:03):
by these or if they just ignore them or if they accelerate
things to the Supreme Court. I don't that's, that's my,
that's my real thought that they're going to do that to the
Supreme Court because Supreme Court already supposedly said
that judges can step in and injunct against the, the
executive branch, which is a weird interpretation of the

(35:27):
separation of powers, I suppose in a nice way to put it.
So we're going to see what the Supreme Court does right now.
They, my, my fear right now is they're going to double down on
it and be like we already said, you can't do this.
So this completely stricken withprejudice.

(35:49):
And you know what? The word prejudice means
something. You strike it down with
prejudice. What's that?
When they say with prejudice anytime after ruling, it means
you're. That means the opposing counsel
is to never bring up the same point ever again.
Right. Yep.
Yeah, you can't. You can't repackage it and try
again. It means that idea is done and

(36:14):
that's my fear. Yeah, sounds.
Nice. Well, how so?
Well, if they do that, then we're not going to be able to
keep pursuing. I mean, it is absolutely
unconstitutional to, to try to override, to make the executive
branch, you know, a fucking royalty that get past decrees.
That's not the fucking point. They're supposed to be the
separation of powers and checks and balances and all of that

(36:37):
stuff. Because hasn't the Supreme Court
base kind of limited Trump though in terms of National
Guard usage? The problem is in the most
recent like memory. As far as I know they're they
have said that the the like local courts can't super.
They can't. There's the thing about the

(36:57):
national They can't put in nationwide injunctions in some,
in some cases, yeah. But they over pretty much
overwhelmingly said that these these judges can't overwhelm.
I like override the executive branch.
And this of course, like, like, like we're having right now.
There's a lot of ways to interpret that.
And I'm being kind of Dumor about it while you're being a
lot more, you know, here's how it's written and all of that.

(37:20):
But by the same token, we've seen how this Supreme Court has
added towards Trump in the past. And my fear is it will take one
moment and one ruling for them to like change all of all of all
of that. They could make it a
dictatorship in no time with oneor.
Two, I know they don't want to make themselves irrelevant,
though they want to have like I know Roberts wants to keep a
hand on the lever to make himself feel like he's.

(37:43):
He's do they or if they got paidout enough, do you think they
wouldn't care if they were like,we're just going to have you
here as a decorative thing whileTrump actually does all the
thing in this fucking Darth Sidious fucking impression I.
Mean power theory would say thatthey wouldn't want to give up
their power, but. He's like Darth Sidious and
diapers, except way less competent.

(38:04):
Well, yeah, because Darth Sidious is more like the the
Stephen Miller or the he's got Darth Sidious's behind him.
Yeah, I mean, now, the Darth Sidious, he planned for a hot
fall. Like for a fall of years and
years and years. Trump can't plan what he does
for breakfast the next day. He just does shit.
Yeah. Oh, he's just, I mean, he's just
constantly promoting. That's all he's doing is working

(38:25):
the gimmick. He's just, he's just a mascot.
He's his own mascot, which is sofucking weird.
So, so we got this shutdown going on.
Oh God damn it, yes, and we do. We talked about that earlier
about, you know, once it comes back, we'll have the the Epstein

(38:47):
vote. So that's something to look
forward to. But the but it looks like we
didn't get another. We lost another chance at A at a
deal here it looks like today. I'm looking at this right now.
Oh no wait, MTG just said she will.
Buckle. Really.

(39:10):
No. Way MTG just said Sheila support
extending the DO AC subsidies. It means getting it back open.
She's been like doing a anti republican line for a month or
so or maybe even. More I kind of kind of.
And in small ways, she's still the fucking same crazy fucking

(39:33):
Neanderthal bitch. We all know and hate she's not
all for like MAGA anymore. It sounds like I.
Don't know about that. I think I feel like she's one of
the people which are like, Oh no, I'm true MAGA.
Oh, she's like. Right, like she might think.
Hardcore MAGA. Yeah.
But she's definitely bucking thethe mainstream Republicans.

(39:53):
Right now she's bucking the party line, which an idiot.
Like, I mean, what She she's oneof the people who would find the
contrarianism to be empowering. We all we know comics like this.
Oh yeah. Mm hmm.
But now, in true, in true conservative fashion, this is
something that is is psychologically theorized about

(40:14):
conservatives, and I have seen it in practice for sure.
Conservatives don't have the ability to empathize.
They can only sympathize, which means they can only have, you
know, they can only appeal to their better angels once they've
experienced a a hardship themselves.
Sympathy is natural. Empathy takes.
Empathy takes like effort. Yeah.

(40:37):
And, and like, like as an example, when I was in in
College in 2004, during the election night, I went into the,
the dorm lobby on my floor and there was a bunch of guys in red
shirts. And like the second I walked in
the room, they like all turned and pointed at me.
And they're like, are you a Republican?
Go put a red shirt on. And I was like, no, I'm not,

(40:58):
thanks. And they spent the rest of the
time just like crowding around me and trying to debate.
But the only time they disagreedwith each other was on abortion
because there was one guy who was like pro-choice in their
group. And they all started ganging up
on him 'cause he wanted, he was trying to convince them to be
pro-choice. And it was because his little
sister had to have an abortion. So it's like the one guy who's

(41:20):
experienced it, of course, is isis on the pro-choice side.
And the rest of them are just being pro.
They're just following the partyline.
They they can only surprise. And so here, here's what MTG
says. I'm going to go against everyone
on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year, my
own adult children's insurance premiums are going to double.

(41:44):
So. So again, it has to hit her in
her personal life. But at least she's doing the
right thing now, I guess. I get more.
I mean doing the only it makes fucking sense.
Right. Like like holy shit.
I mean, I'm, I'm glad she's, I'mnot.
I'm never going to say unless she's on her side, even if she
supports us. She's not on our side.
She's just, yeah, she's. He's not on their side.

(42:04):
Is this thing? Yeah.
She's not on our side. She's not on theirs.
Fair enough. Yeah, at least on this issue.
So how far into the shutdown arewe?
We're about 6-7 days now. Seven days now, yeah.
Seven days, yeah. What, what do you think the
biggest effects we're going to see right away are?
I mean, I we've had longer shutdowns than this and we

(42:26):
didn't see giant changes anything for, you know, too much
like the last we've shown for like 20 days recently, right?
Yeah. I mean, I expect this thing to
go on a little while because they probably, you know, they
might. They might, I don't know.
Actually, I, I think the Republican is about to crack
because Doug, like you said, I, I, I think that they, we were

(42:50):
talking before the show and you had an interesting theory about
this. What was your theory on the?
Shutdown. Well, basically, and they, the,
the Republicans know that they have people in their districts
and in their states that need this affordable health care
subsidy. Yes, and, and, and deep down,
they don't want to face their wrath if they don't get it.
And they just want to be forced to do it.

(43:11):
They don't want to look like they went along with this
spending. They want to look like the they
were forced to do it. And, and they and they might go
that way. You know, already Senator Angus
King, who's an independent that caucuses with the Democrats, he
had been saying he would vote for the GOP stopgap, stopgap
funding bill. Now he's saying he's going to

(43:31):
reconsider that because they aren't addressing Democratic
demands to extend ACA subsidies.Because he doesn't want to lose
it, lose his own voters. Because you know.
Yeah, And he generally, he generally caucuses with the
Democrats anyways. So it was kind of interesting
that he was not going with them up until maybe now.
He's switching again. And it does seem the momentum is

(43:52):
going that way to get a resolution here.
Again, it might get stopped by the fact that Johnson doesn't
want Congress to come back in session due to Epstein.
I get everybody. The pressure on Johnson's got to
be huge right now to get this thing back opened up.
I mean, I hear the downside, hear the downside.
I did this. But I'm going to say as much as
we want to be said about this, Ihave heard very much that Trump

(44:14):
is using this opportunity. I forgot to kid this news or
this one of the ones I want to talk about.
Trump is using the opportunity to fire all kinds of people.
Yeah, but they were doing that anyways, right?
I heard it's getting worse now. Or do you think that maybe do
you think they all just bluster and him trying to scare people
into wanting? Well, they're, they're talking
about it and they might do it. But just like what happened with

(44:35):
the Doge, the Doge stuff is right now they're trying to hire
back a huge number of those people they fired in the first
six months. Yeah, which is hilarious.
So they might fire them all during this shutdown, but when
government comes back in, they're just going to try and
hire them again. I hope so.
I hope so. Trump is a is a corrupt piece of

(44:56):
shit. I could see him absolutely
hurting the country to make himself look better.
Oh, for sure that doesn't. If he thinks he can sell it as
if he can spin it some way, he'll do whatever.
Absolutely. We all know he'll do that in.
Fact that, you know, that kind of actually brings up the
question again with with the Chicago raid and all the very,

(45:19):
you know, part of that Chicago raid.
I I don't think we didn't cover all that.
So let me take over for everybody exactly what happened
there. Well, they, they, they, you
know, you're going to want to read the story to get the full
details, which we'll put in the in the show description.
But essentially they took a Blackhawk and they had a full on
ice, military style ice raid where they went and pulled

(45:40):
everybody out of the building, destroyed everybody's room.
People were, you know, zip tied children were that had their
parents ripped away from them. You know, children that are
American citizens were left there while their parents were
pulled away and, and taken to, you know, taken to go be
deported. There was, you know, I shared a
story on Facebook of one particular woman who is she has

(46:04):
a she has a valid work permit tobe in America.
She never missed an immigration check in point and none of it
mattered. She was still violently ripped
away and her child left behind. And because of why, and this
ties into something else, another new story I wanted to
talk about, even though it's an older one, was how pretty much

(46:24):
the Supreme Court said they can racially profile people now.
Yeah, that was that was a littlewhile back, but yeah, they
could, they legalized racial profiling because as long as, as
long as you aren't doing it based on, I forget what their
their excuse was, but it was essentially like, oh, it's not
racist If you're doing it based on the fact that they work

(46:45):
landscaping and hang out outsideof Home Depot and and don't
speak English real well. That's not racist.
That's just using their vocation.
Yeah. What?
So, yeah, yeah. Wow, this is.
This is you would never expectedto hear if somebody told you 35,

(47:08):
let's say 30 years ago that thisis no, let's say 35 years ago
that this is what the US would sound like.
What would you say even at six years old and be like, that's
not, that's not how the adults and yeah, around we talk, you
know? Yeah, 35 years ago.
So that what puts us in 95. I've been six years old and even
I would have been like, that's not no, wait, not wait.

(47:29):
That's at 35. Yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah. Even though, like, that's not
how people in this country talk to each other, you know?
90, Yeah, So 90. Fuck.
Oh, yeah. I mean, you're older than you,
aren't I, Doug? Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he's turning.
He's turning 40 next weekend, guys.
You are, I, I really want to come to your thing.

(47:50):
I, I actually really want to come to your thing, but I don't
know if I'm going to be able to because I get out of work at
like 4:30 and and then I got to drive to Tacoma in rush hour
traffic. Yeah, no worries.
I. I said maybe because I wasn't
sure if I was gonna have gas to get down there and back so.
I might, I might, I might give my manager puppy dog eyes and

(48:14):
see if she will let me out a little early.
Yeah, well, and we'll be there. I mean, if if we you could come
late too. Like, well, I have a room there
that night. So I'm just oh.
OK, cool, cool, cool. We're.
Gonna have a We're Gonna Have a Room party at Doug's Hotel.
Yeah, it's, oh, it's a bummer though, because my wife was
going to get me like the High Roller Suite that has like a

(48:35):
pool table and a big screen TV and stuff like that in it.
Yeah, but it got booked before we could get it.
I'll bring the cocaine on the horse.
I'm just kidding. It's OK, I'll make my own and
and I'll bring the cocaine in the horse.
With blackjack and hookers. Blackjack and hookers exactly.

(48:55):
I saw, I've ever seen about thatas a dodgeball.
Hey, got some power, I got some hookahs.
Margaret, you don't want to comewith me.
No. OK, Claire.
RIP Torin was such a fucking funny guy.
No, but the thing with the thingI didn't want to get to on when

(49:16):
it comes to the Chicago raid andall the other draconian measures
that this administration is taking is this was a debate that
came up on, on breaking points between Crystal Ball and and
Sager, whatever his last name is, which is a good show to
watch Breaking points on YouTube, really good place to
get your news. If you're looking for some news,

(49:38):
some daily daily, every Morning News like this is what I would
watch instead of cable news is watch Breaking Points, watch the
Majority Report, that kind of stuff.
I'm sorry, did you say the one the people's name is Crystal
Ball? Yeah, yeah, Crystal.
OK, OK, I knew a girl named Crystal Ball when I was younger.
Boom, yes I did. So, so but The thing is, I'm

(50:01):
thinking of the movie was it, but there was a the TV show
about the the, the hired hit manwho's decides he wants to become
a an actor. I can't remember the name of
that movie, that show now. But either way, there's a
character in who's like a gangster.
With the Bill Hader Show. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's the one. What the hell is that called?

(50:23):
Yeah, I'm drawing a blank. Right now.
Oh the hitman. Oh fucking oh God.
Damn it, right? Barry.
Barry. Barry Yeah, yeah.
Great. Show I've seen only clips of it,
but I've. Never watched?
It Oh my God, dude, it's so. Heater.
He plays a creepily good hitman.Yeah, he does.
And he's. He got like, it's kind of weird.
Like, aren't you a comedian? I mean, let's be honest, every

(50:49):
comedian we know has a a really dark side to them, you know?
Like wouldn't, wouldn't, wouldn't, wouldn't.
Why? Why do you seem so comfortable
killing people? Like he has a couple scenes
where just straight up like marks, like for people and
there's no expression in his face.
And you're like. Whatsoever.
I'm like that's. And, and, and Henry Winkler's in

(51:09):
it, and he's fucking amazing in it.
So good. Oh, by the way, have you got
huh? Do you guys think they're
actually going to make the fucking might be more nerd shit
here? You think they're actually going
to make the Warhammer 40K show for Amazon?
Or do you think they're going tocancel that one too?
I have. No idea, I I got to think based
on how well the the the the Fallout series is gone that

(51:31):
they're definitely going to takea stab at the 40K Warhammer.
I mean didn't they also do like the the dungeons and Dragons?
Didn't they do a series for thattoo?
Or or am I thinking of boobs? No, they did a thing called
Level Up or something like that.I haven't watched it yet, but
it's basically all sorts of animations from all sorts of
fantasy series so. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that, that.

(51:53):
Is B&D there is all there was? Pac-Man, even I saw that series.
Yeah. Yeah, there was.
There was all sorts of. There was there was an Unreal
Tournament episode too. I haven't seen it yet.
I I found my to watch list. No, I really want to see that,
but any the the actual the the 40K series is supposedly being

(52:15):
produced and led by Henry Cavill.
Oh yeah, dude. Which is a perfect fucking
choice because. Attached to anything that you
want to get going on streaming I.
Guess yeah, huh? I said.
He just gets attached to anything that they want to get
going on streaming. To be honest with you, he's a
huge nerd. He he actually showed off his

(52:36):
new his he has a kid on the way and he showed off his kids
bedroom and he has a table thereand he's like, this is going to
be a big kids table if we want to keep Warhammer models.
Didn't he quit the Witcher because he didn't agree with?
The yeah, they were taking the show because they, they didn't
care about the game. Like literally they were like,
he was like, we get Maggie's like, dude, there's nothing like
the game. Like we don't care about the

(52:56):
game. We don't care about the, the,
the Netflix show next, next scene.
And they were like, OK, I'm, I'mnot gonna do this.
Then he's like, I like the, I did this because I like the
game. And if you're not even gonna do
that, then you know what I got? I got other projects I can do.
Anyways, anyways, Geek Geek talk's supposed to be later.
I did actually have. I did actually have a a
discussion point on this I was trying to get to which is.

(53:18):
No. No, it's OK.
It's all good. This the whole point is to do
with science, but I just want toget back to it.
The whole, so the, the, the question that came up, the
debate that kind of came up on breaking points that I think
would be interesting for us is when you see Trump taking this
draconian, these draconian measures, is this indication

(53:40):
that this is what they think is going to play to the voters and
get them reelected? Or are these the actions of a
group that doesn't expect to have a fair election again?
Well, you know my thoughts on this.
I found out before about how I already thought we've crossed a
Rubicon. So yeah, absolutely.
This is the actions of a group who who believe, I don't know if

(54:01):
they believe it for sure, but they do believe they have a shot
of doing that. Yeah, of which?
Of not having a fair election. Yeah, I think they have a they,
they think they have a shot of not doing this and of having a
fair election. So that's what they're going
for. Because at this point, like
Trump realizes either he go, he's only got this chance.

(54:22):
If he doesn't get do this, this, this, this, you know, election
cycle, it's not going to happen ever.
Yeah, I mean, the answer is probably.
Get it done. The answer is probably both,
right? Like if he.
Doing these. Doing these big show of force
cuz like at the Chicago raid they had, they had like a half
dozen or dozen drones that were just filming it.

(54:43):
And then they produce these slick looking propaganda videos
with all their explosions and flash bangs and helicopter
landing and it's all, it's all for show.
And so these things are going tostir up the feelings of the
people in their base, and then at the same time, they're going
to do whatever they can to suppress the vote in Democratic

(55:05):
areas. Do I think no.
It's both. It's it is both.
Yeah, exactly. Do I think that they they, they
know it's going to happen, like they can plan on it?
No. Do I think they're going to try
to make it happen? Yeah.
I think that's the game plan, yeah.
Yeah. OK.
Well, with that, I think we can take it to our next section
where we're going to play a little Florida.

(55:26):
Yes. Florida.
I have not been doing good on these recently.
I mean, not that we're keeping count or anything, but.
It's OK dude. Oh no, here we go again.
A barefoot guy robbing a gas station in the name of Gavin
Newsom Called the police. Arrest the Florida man.

(55:47):
Is it Florida or not? Is it?
Florida though. All right, so like I said, I put
I put these in the in the doc like a few days ago, so I don't
even remember what these ones are anymore.
So I'm going to click this firstone here.
This guy says, what are you doing in my daughter's bedroom?
Mom fires shots after finding a man in her home.

(56:11):
Do you think that's Florida or no?
I hope they'd be anywhere. Well, the fact that the mom
fired shots is probably, yeah, Florida.
It could be Texas. I'm going to say not Florida.
So, I mean, it's close. It took place in Pittsburgh, but
he is a Miami man. So he is a Florida man?

(56:34):
He is a Florida man but did not take place in Florida.
This Pittsburgh police said Mother of cities East Hills
neighborhood found a Miami man passed out on the floor of her
daughter's room with his pants down.
Police said that they they were called to the 500 block of a
Haverhill St. about 4:30 AM Sunday.

(56:57):
According to a criminal complaint filed against Miguel
Menza, 23, of Miami, The mother reported finding Mezza in the
room with his with his breath smelling of alcohol.
I mean, yeah, I mean, that couldhave easily have been anywhere,
to be honest. So that wasn't really kind of,

(57:21):
they didn't really smack of Florida other than it was a guy
from Florida, so. Yeah.
Let's see here the next one, an Attorney general pledges legal
action against public schools blocking the TP USA chapters.

(57:46):
I'm I'm going to say Florida on that one.
That sounds like very, very Florida shit.
What do you think? Say that again.
It says an attorney general pledges legal action against
public schools blocking the PTTPUSA chapter.

(58:07):
I mean, the Florida Attorney General would do that, but what
public schools in Florida be blocking?
Them yes. Wait, what?
Oh wait. Oh, that's a good .0.
I'm going to say. Yeah, I mean, I misread that.

(58:28):
I'm going to say not Florida nowtoo.
I misread that too. Oh.
Man, all right. Florida Attorney General James
You. Got my ass.
Thursday threatened legal recourse.
I have so much goals. That thwart the development of
Turning Point USA clubs on campuses.

(58:48):
Yeah, I guess. I mean, they still have liberal
areas within, yeah. It doesn't, it doesn't seem, it
doesn't seem like there would bein like Florida or Texas that
they would have liberal areas, but I guess they do.
I know people that live in both places so.
I gotta go. I'll be right back in one
second, all right? All right, we'll be here.

(59:09):
All right, it's. That issue.
No worries. So what do we wanna do here?
Do we wanna do a geek story while we wait for them?
You know that's not a bad idea. Let's go ahead and do one of the
geek stories. The one I just found I added to
the list is a here fan modded Lego gameboy lets you play

(59:35):
actual games. Oh, I saw this.
Yeah, dude, I saw this too. And I was like, oh, that's
fucking sweet. I wonder how they did it.
And then I didn't look into it because I wanted to read it
here. So earlier this year, Lego
announced that it was turning the most iconic handheld gaming
system in history into a delightful black plastic brick

(59:55):
replica, the company's retro 241piece.
Game Boy Set 241 Game P Set looked perfectly on its own, but
obviously it gave us an idea. The problem was we had no idea
how to pull it out. Fortunately, someone has done
exactly that immediately. It just arrived in stores, but

(01:00:20):
someone has already done what wehoped they would and they turned
the Lego recreation into a functioning machine that can
actually play Game Boy games. That's so cool.
I mean, because I first saw it, I thought it was legitimately a
real functioning Gameboy but wasjust made out of Lego pieces.

(01:00:41):
And then I said I was just, it'sa model, it's not an actual.
And then like it was like 2 weeks later, I saw this story
and Natalie the Mer, let's excuse me, Natalie the nerd
modified a Lego Game Boy into something much more than an
homage. Her custom device, which we
first heard about on at IGN, transformed A collectible set

(01:01:05):
into a working version of the legendary system.
You can actually play Game Boy games on with this hybrid
iteration discovers that sugar. So so we are waiting for you to
come back, Brandon. So we started to talk about one
of the the nerds stories, and it's the one about the Game Boy,
the Lego Game Boy, but someone actually turned into a

(01:01:26):
functioning Game Boy. Oh, that's awesome, because I
saw that Lego Game Boy and I really wanted.
One I did too actually when I saw it was like, oh that's
fucking cool. Wanna know Friday?
Stop stop, stop stop stop. My new kitten is an attention
horror. He is so cuddling.
He's so needy. He is so needy.

(01:01:47):
All right, so let's get back to the Florida Man stories.
The next one is Mom wins video game tournament while holding
her five day old baby. If there was a cigarette in her
mouth, I would say completely Florida.
Let's see here. What does it say?

(01:02:11):
Hold on, I got a guess. I still got a guess.
Go ahead and make your guess because I'm still looking for
where it says where it happened.I'm going to say Florida too.
You guys rough say it's Florida.Yeah, that sounds glorious.
Shit. Yeah, it looks like it's
actually Atlanta. Man, I have O for today.

(01:02:31):
I'm striking out. Man, it says October 1st a new
mother is going viral after winning her a video game
tournament. Oh, I guess it did happen in
Florida. And I take that back because it
said Atlanta on the on the things.
I was like, OK in tournament in Florida while holding her

(01:02:53):
newborn Just five days after giving birth by a Caesarean
section, the gamer, who goes by the handle Legion spelled with a
0 instead of an O, entered the Mortal Kombat XL tournament
Saturday hosted by Juicy Game Night in Orlando, FL.
He defeated three other players, including her own husband, while

(01:03:15):
holding newborn Theresa in her arms.
OK that's absolutely wholesome as shit dude.
The fact that they had a kid andwhat do VD game tournament
together that's actually amazing.
That's like relationship goals. Yeah, it's still.
For real SO. That it looks like the The

(01:03:37):
victory earned them a $28.00 prize and a trip to Dream Hack
Atlanta Gaming Festival in late October.
That's where I saw the Atlanta thing.
I just scared my cat. I.
On my table. Poor Kitty, don't get so mad.
Dad, geez. God.
Geez, get your own talk. He is the cuddlest.

(01:03:59):
Cat I've ever had. He's a Velcro Kitty, all right,
so police. Pull over a self driving way MO
for illegal U-turn but they can't take it.
I'm sorry, what a Waymo which is?
Like a a. A self driving Uber?

(01:04:21):
Yeah I know they pulled one over.
Wouldn't they know you? Can't pull one over.
Well, yeah, you would. You would think, but.
It says the police pulled it over even though they can't to
give. I don't understand why they just
why they bothered to give it to pull it over.
You would you would you would send the ticket to the company,
but you. Need to fix this, yeah, yeah.
So what do you guys think? Do you think it's Do you?

(01:04:43):
Think it's Florida. In Florida, they would have
found a way to give a ticket to it.
This is true Florida. They would have shot it.
Shot. The tires out, yeah.
Yeah, I'm going to say that's not Florida.
That could be anywhere, but I think not Florida.
What do you think, Doug? Yeah, not Florida.

(01:05:03):
You both. Corrected a SAN.
Francisco police. In Northern California were
understandably perplexed when they pulled over a way MO taxi
after it made an illegal U-turn,only to find no driver behind
the wheel and therefore no 1-2 ticket.
How do they how do they pull this car over and not realize
it's there's nobody in it with all the cameras on it?

(01:05:26):
I'm I'm I'm sure that they're made to pull over the second
that they. See light, maybe these guys
didn't see the cameras on top, Idon't know.
I mean, if you look at, if you look at the, if you click the
link and look at the car. It's got like this huge fucking
sensor thing on top and there's cameras fucking everywhere.
I mean, it's, it looks like a fucking robot.
Maybe they just want to check itout.

(01:05:47):
Cops are not sending the. Best they're not sending the
brightest. This is true, and some of them I
assume are good people. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right, last story. For the The newlywed couple
seeks divorce because their petsare not getting along.
Do you think this is Florida or someplace else?

(01:06:10):
This sounds more West Coast to me.
I'm saying Florida. I think this is a Florida
written all over it. Fuck it, let's say let's go
separate on this because I'm ahead.
Of you. So which one of you, which one
of you says it's not Florida? Me.
OK, you're correct. Because it's it's Bhopal, India.

(01:06:32):
Wow. Oh, it's not even America.
Yeah. When it happened last year is
according. To sources, I'm sorry, I'm
sorry. I thought this was America
family. Unnamed couple initially bonded.
Over their love of animals, becoming friends and later
getting married. So it's more more than a little
ironic that the love of their respective pets may be what

(01:06:53):
breaks them apart after they tight tighten the knot in
December 2024. Only a couple.
The couple moved together and then things started to go South.
The wife said the husband's dog harassed and even attacked her
cat repeatedly. While he claimed that he had he
he had made it clear that the before the marriage that the

(01:07:14):
woman would not bring her pets when they moved together.
OK, yeah, that that works. I think that is it for the
Florida Man or not. So let's go ahead and move on
over to the Geek News for the Coolest in pop culture category.

(01:07:40):
News. Let's dive in.
All right, yeah, we already talked about the the Lego Game
Boy, which is just fucking cool.Sick as fuck.
The the first story I had that Iwanted to talk about was it
looks like we're getting a brandnew version of Reading Rainbow

(01:08:01):
and it is is going to be hosted by Michael the librarian.
He's known all over social mediaas promoting reading to young
kids. I mean, I guess he so.
So here's the thing I I've been hearing about this Michael the.
Librarian being the new host of it and I have no idea who he is.
Am I supposed to know who he is?You probably would recognize him

(01:08:21):
if you saw him if you click the link.
In the in the doc you'll see theI only know him from from
stories. About this.
I I, I thought Michael the librarian OK.
No, OK. You will not know he who he is.
Like I don't know who he is because Todd, me and Doug do not
have TikTok. You know what I said?

(01:08:44):
Social media did not. Specify TikTok He's he's not on
anything else. Are you pretty?
Sure, I'm I'm I'm pie on my. Gram I've I've.
Never seen him and only Instagram recently announced
he's on the reading rainbow. I have seeing him only once
again on news on YouTube as any as as news about this.

(01:09:06):
He has been almost 99.99% exclusively TikTok.
I have no idea who this guy is. Yeah, I've never heard of him.
I've seen him. I've I'm I'm.
I haven't. Seen a lot of him.
Mind you, but I have seen him pop up here and there.
I think the first time I saw himwas during the pandemic was when
he when, what kind of stuff doeshe do?

(01:09:26):
Does he do reading rainbow types?
It's very similar to. Reading Rainbow, where he reads
a story on. Video And you know, from what I
understand, he is a perfect replacement for the for.
For for Lavar, yeah. And I'm OK with that as long as
people approve of it. It seems like people are
generally on board with it. So I'm I'm, I'm good with it.
Yeah. It it from what I've seen, it's

(01:09:46):
he's pretty much. Hold on, I'm getting handed
something here. Oh my.
The Mr. President, the second plane has hit.
The World Trade Center. Oh, this is.
This is. This is.
This is. Oh, this is unreal, isn't it?
It's on Instagram. He is on Instagram, OK, he's
just no, he's not eating the ones I I see so well he's.

(01:10:08):
This account is private if it ishim so oh.
God, you've got him. No, this I don't.
Think this is actually him I I. I don't think he spread into.
Instagram, at least to the pointwhere most people who use
casually would see him because Iuse Instagram very, very
casually. I use it to talk to like one or
two people in my life. And other than that I don't.

(01:10:31):
I don't use it for very much, but from what I think it's like
from what I remember seeing. Is he's very.
Very similar to. What Levar Burton did on Reading
Rainbow, he would read stories and he would talk about the
story and you know, so it, it, it seems pretty logical that he
would be the the new guy if, if Lavar isn't actually getting a
host. Oh yeah, and that would have

(01:10:52):
been surprised by bringing Lavarback also.
Motherfucker, I know the last story I wanted to talk about was
them shutting down P stopping funding the PBS.
God damn it. Well, we'll get that next week
because there's there's NPR. 'S in that.
Too. And I thought we talked about
like the the, the defending of PBS.
And NPR, but the Abby Bunny we. Did when it was announced that

(01:11:15):
it was going to happen, but it'sactually gone into.
Effect. Now it has.
Yeah. Yeah.
God damn it, I knew. There was something I wanted to
cover. Fuck, we could talk.
About that, well, it's just a good time to remind.
Everybody that this show. Is supported by viewers.
Like you exactly you can. Send your.
Donations to Dollar. Sign ADHD rocks or sign up for

(01:11:39):
our Patreon. That works too.
Or just leave it at my. Doorstep that works.
So the last, the last couple things I have here is we have
like. A family friendly Halloween and
TV shows coming in October to streaming.
I'm not going to talk about every single thing that's in
here, but if you go to comicbook.com and search for

(01:11:59):
every family friendly Halloween movie, you'll find it and we'll
post it in our notes. So you can also just click that
link too. But there's there's got a bunch
of stuff on Netflix. Casper, the Goonies, is it cake
Halloween's edition? I'm excited for that.
That's a great show. I love it.
But the teenage mutant Ninja Turtles, pretty much all of

(01:12:23):
them. It looks like 1-2 and mutant
mayhem the twits, which is a family friendly Netflix series
or a movie or whatever. Over on Disney plus we have a
bunch of Mickey Mouse stuff and there is Spidey spider and his
amazing friends new Halloween episode.

(01:12:45):
Something wicked this way comes a bunch of other wait, wait,
wait, they're doing that old one, or they're.
Doing a new one. This is Spider and his amazing
friends. It's just not the same as the
spider man and his amazing friends.
No size as something wicked thisway comes.
It's the name of the episode. Never mind, have you guys

(01:13:07):
already seen that movie? The Disney one, yes, I have it.
It's. A fucked movie.
It is a kids movie. It's a really creepy.
Fucking movie for sure. It's a.
Weird movie for Disney to have made, right?
I mean, back in those days, Disney did a lot of horror.
Type stuff like me and my friendShannon were watching The
Watcher in the Woods just yesterday and I was telling her

(01:13:31):
I remember the first time I saw it was we were in middle school.
They we we watched him in class and it was creepy as hell.
Then I've always said that something wicked this way comes
would be. An amazing remake if they were
to redo that one, like with modern graphics and stuff.
Yeah. Yeah, no, the, the, the and I
can't remember. What I think it was early 80s or

(01:13:51):
late 70s that that version came out.
The Disney 1 yeah, yeah, there was a version before that wasn't
there they're. Like a black and white version,
huh? I think there probably was.
Yeah. I don't.
I don't know for sure. I'm pretty sure I saw the black
and white version at 1:00. Point after I saw the first
version all right, I just remember the carousel.
Scene. Yeah, that was that was in the

(01:14:14):
one I that's the. One from the Disney did, yeah,
so. The last.
Story I have here is. Star Wars Next.
Movie continues A4 year reversalof the Mandalorians best
stories. But how bad is it?
Star Wars is not a franchise that likes to let the past lie,

(01:14:38):
nor should it to a degree. There is a rich history and
legacy that deserves to be celebrated, but that needs to be
carefully calibrated and pushed forward.
Do and do new things. Occasionally it achieves a level
of balance that would make Thanos proud, and as such with

(01:14:59):
and or. Sometimes it leans more towards
the old, relying on familiar faces, worlds, and concepts
rather than an embracing change like with The Rise of Skywalker,
and has As Lucasfilm prepares for the release of Star Wars,
the first Star Wars movie since 2019, it again needs to find a

(01:15:22):
perfect equilibrium. Equilibrium.
That's the word. I can say it The Mandalorian and
Grogu is a movie tasked with with bringing Star Wars roaring
back to feeders. It's a small excuse me, It's a
smart if. If it's God damn it.

(01:15:42):
It's a smart, if safe choice given the popularity of the TV
show that it's spawned from. But among the reveals of the
first trailer of for Mandalorianand Grogu that was also notable
was that it was bringing back some parts of the show that
could perhaps otherwise have been left behind.

(01:16:04):
And much like much like that's nothing new for Star Wars as a
whole, it's more specifically a trend that's being that's been
happening with the Mandalorians across the past four years, for
better or worse. Get to the fucking point there,
dude. Mandalorian season 2 featured

(01:16:30):
multiple turning points and series introducing characters
such as Bow, Catan, Crease, Asoka, Tano, and even Luke
Skywalker. They also contributed to bigger
points in Dinjarin's arc, him questioning the way of the
Mandalore, which he had religiously followed as part of
the Big Children of the Watch, and with that removing his

(01:16:54):
helmets to say goodbye to Groku, who went off to train with Luke,
potentially become to become a Jedi.
There were some of the most emotional moments in the series,
but there were very swiftly reversed and not even in Mando's
own show instead of the Book of Bubba Vet.
So I didn't run and drove to reunite with the child, choosing

(01:17:19):
his found father over Luke and training in the ways of the
Force. That show followed up by the Men
Lords Season 3 also reversed Din's arc and when it comes to
the way instead of changing, he doubled back down and sought

(01:17:39):
redemption for removing his helmet in front of the other
person. Hold on a second.
What repayment? Generous interest.
Thank you. Sorry, guys.
Roommate decided to come give mea a handful of quarters.

(01:18:00):
All right, So what I wouldn't got sorry, what I wouldn't I
wouldn't got them like an energydrink earlier today.
So she's just give me money for that.
So paying you back in quarters, paying me back in quarters, it
was like. Do you need to beat the shit out
of? Somebody and put your socks.
Going to get some answers, I don't even remember where I was

(01:18:25):
now. Either way, I'm looking forward
to it. This Mando and Grogos coming
next May 22nd, 2026. It's Simian Theaters, so yeah,
I'm looking forward to that. I am very the best episodes.
Of Book of Boba Fett were the ones that were actually just the
final three which had which had Dinjarin.

(01:18:48):
In there and I really like the way that they had him like
learning to. Use the dark Saber and
struggling to use it appropriately because he was
fighting against I saw the I sawthe first season of.
Mandalorian. I think that's it.
It gets way better after season 1.
It's I'm not. I really like Season 1.
I'm. I'm not.
I'm not sure I'm ever going to watch anything else because I'm

(01:19:09):
not. Sure, I want to pay for Disney
Plus, I'm not going to lie. No, that's it anymore either.
I I. I already have.
What Netflix and what else? Like I said, I I have which I
need to cancel. I have all these things.
On my. On my.
Plex server if you want access you just.
Got to get a Plex account. Oh yeah, I might do that

(01:19:30):
someday. But.
One of these days, you know. But that is it.
For geek this week guys that is.That is all that I had.
Unless you guys had other thingsyou wanted to talk about.
What are y'all getting doing this next week?
I don't know. I'm potentially going down to

(01:19:51):
Tacoma to see some guy for his 40th birthday.
Yeah, I'm just getting ready to turn old, Yeah.
Oh, yes, yeah, I'm gonna. I will.
Try to get. Now they know that you're gonna
be there later and won't be donean hour later like most of my
friends. Keep in mind, most of my 40
girlfriends when they say there's a party at, you know,
6:00, it means to be done by like 7:00.

(01:20:16):
I plan to go all night 40. We're 40, so that's how.
That works, but no I. Not this week, but or next week,
but the 24th. The week before Halloween is is
Horicon down on Puyallup? I'm going to be doing that.
Oh, that would be a good day. Well, what day?
On the 24th. Nice, it's a Friday.

(01:20:36):
Oh yes, Speaking of which. On the 16th.
You all y'all. Remember Jose Bolanos, Right.
Oh yeah. Josie Baloney.
Yeah, Josie Baloney. He's.
The show at on the. 16th at Muggleshoot.
I'm gonna be there to just hang out, not to perform.
I'm just gonna be there to drinkon a Thursday and watch.
Yeah. All right.
Yeah. Let's if you have.

(01:20:56):
A. Do you have a link to?
Post tickets to that or anythingit's not no tickets free.
Oh, free show, all right. What time?
Oh shit, I don't even remember I.
I'm leaving. I think it's 6:30.
I want to say 630. You're going to want to be there
early because it is a free show,so it's going to be packed
fucking fast. Yeah, I probably won't be able
to make it because I have to be home until my wife gets home.

(01:21:17):
But but yeah, people should try and get out to that.
Oh, you know, you know, yeah, you want to.
I I love Jose, but. You know who's headlining, and I
love this guy so much. Who is headlining?
Brad. Brad Upton.
Oh, Brad. Yeah, Brad's so fucking funny.
I've I've hung out with Brad but.
I've never actually got to watchand perform.
Oh my God, he's 01. Time one time at laughs.

(01:21:39):
I did one time at Laughs. He was Drybar.
Drybar's comedy. Number one like like download it
like like watch comedian for a long time.
Well, that makes sense. He he's fucking.
I I I like Drybar? I I think Drybar's fine, but you
have to be, you have to be a certain style for them.
I, I, I. You've got to be cleaner, I'll

(01:22:00):
give you that. Yeah, they got to be cleaner.
They, they, they. They like a Brad.
Upton style they. Don't they don't want a they
don't want a Jonas Barnes. They I Oh, OK.
Jonas, Andrew so. I mean, so Jonas.
Had the best line about fucking Dave Chappelle.
The other day and I almost died.Oh, what was it?

(01:22:21):
He was like, He's like, he's like.
Dave Chappelle is basically. Like the 13 year old comedian
when he saw he said Dave Chappelle is basically a 13 year
old. Like 4 Chan edge Lord comedy
would be. Oh, that's all those guys, yeah.
I. Like for Chappelle particularly.

(01:22:43):
Though that hits. I was like, that is dead on.
That is straight up how I feel about Chappelle now.
Yeah, he's edge comedy. Yeah.
I don't really like the edge port stuff anyway.
I used to, but I used to be thirteen years.
Old it's got. It when I was a teen, sure.

(01:23:03):
But I'm adult. Now.
So no, I mean, I mean, I like topush boundaries.
I'm sorry. That I I I, I really do.
I love youth. Love Chappelle so so for the I
have something I did too. I I did as well and I think
Doug. Is right.
It has to be funny. Though there's been a lot of a
lot of those guys have gotten fucking lazy with their with

(01:23:24):
their writing. As long as as long as they get
someone go, oh shit, that's, that's fucked up.
That's all they need. They don't need someone to
laugh. Yeah, I think a really good
example is Mark Normand. If you've listened to Mark
Normand's stuff from like 10:15 years ago, it's really fucking
funny and it's edgy, but like he's the butt of all the jokes.

(01:23:44):
You listen to him now and it's just like women.
Hey, you can't hit him twice, can you?
Like, you've heard my comedy. I'm 9090% self.
Deprecating. So the points are some of my
friends get mad at me about it, but yeah, no, it's, it's, it's.
And that's, yeah. Like Mark Norman.
Has been a lot of these people get audience captured.
Like assholes start liking them because they misunderstand what

(01:24:07):
their early stuff was about. I used to call.
They just start pandering to that audience.
I used to call it. Seth defecating.
Humor because I'm shitting on myself.
I thought you said Seth defecating at first.
Yeah. And I was like, I was like
trying to figure out how Seth Rogen fits into this.
I don't know why I'm not. Anybody else but?

(01:24:30):
You know, Rogue used to do the Seattle comedy.
Underground all the time. Oh, really?
I didn't know. Yeah, not I know because, well,
that movie, he. Did with his.
Friend. That got.
Cancer was set in Seattle. Yeah.
He he he he a lot of my buddies like.
The you guys have to know Jason Stewart like we ever talked
about this the other week. I guarantee you guys know Jason.

(01:24:51):
I I know the name from Facebook but I I don't I never met.
Him or saw him before but does he still want to come on?
You mentioned guests. We can still have them.
One of these days. I need to talk to him about it
and talk to him more like we we.We haven't talked in a long
time. We used to be super, super close
because he used to live around me and we hung out like
literally all. What about your historian
friend, that is? Actually not a direct.

(01:25:13):
Connect to me. We're talking about that show
prep stuff here. Everyone have fun.
But you know, that guy was not adirect connect to me.
He's a friend of my buddy who has a PhD in American history.
So if we have anything else we want to talk about as concerning
USS history, I do have a connectdirectly for that.

(01:25:34):
Gotcha. OK, a straight up doctor.
On American hit like US. Does he have an era he
specializes in or I'll? Ask him, I, I, I know he doesn't
do politics. I think it's more like general
to U.S. history. The guy one of the smartest
motherfuckers I know, Don't. Now that's a little bit of a red
flag to say that I don't do. Politics.
I just focus on U.S. history. No, you know well when I when I

(01:25:58):
say that he, he, his. Area study isn't on politics,
it's more of the like there's a straight up history, like dates,
times, all that stuff. OK.
Well, I'd definitely be interested.
We'll find. Out if he has a specialty within
U.S. history and I can definitely come up with a topic
for that, but that's that's moreconversation we can have after
the show. But thanks.

(01:26:19):
