(02:59):
I just, I am stunned. So first Tuesday, May 7th, 2024,
the Robeson County Sheriff's Office did a media release on
Facebook and it reads A death investigation that has tugged on
the hearts of people across the nation has been ruled a suicide.

(03:21):
The decision was based on surveillance footage,
interviews, physical evidence, and the examination of the North
Carolina Medical Examiner's Office.
On Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at approximately 2:54 PM,
Robeson County 911 CommunicationCenter received a 911 call from

(03:42):
a female. The caller asked the dispatcher
if her phone could be located because she was going to kill
herself and wanted her family tobe able to find her body.
During the conversation with thedispatcher, the caller hung up
the phone and the dispatcher wasunable to to contact the caller.
The dispatcher was able to find the location of the caller and

(04:05):
dispatched a deputy to the location.
The deputies contacted the Lumber State, the Lumber River
State Park Superintendent. Upon their arrival at Lumber
River State Park in Orem, North Carolina, the deputies and State
Park Rangers conducted a search of the area for the victim.
The search was aided by a Robeson County Sheriff's Office

(04:28):
drone. During the investigation, a
black Honda Accord with a South Carolina registration was
located in the parking lot at the State Park.
The investigators confirmed thatthe vehicle belonged to Micah
Miller, 30, of Myrtle Beach, SC.Investigators located a Sig Soar
Sawyer gun case in the passengerseat of the vehicle and a box of

(04:50):
ammunition in the center consoleof the vehicle.
Investigators also found a receipt for the Sig Sawyer
handgun from a pawn shop and a receipt from a convenience store
in the vehicle. Both receipts were dated for the
same day of Micah Miller's death, April 27th, 2024.
During the search of the park for the 911 caller,
investigators were approached byan individual who had found a

(05:13):
bag near the water edge with an identification belonging to
Miller. The individual stated that he
heard someone crying in a gunshot while he was fishing.
Law enforcement continued to search and E911 received a call
from an individual who stated that a body was located in the
water. Law enforcement responded to the
location and contacted the NorthCarolina Medical Examiner's

(05:35):
Office. Upon locating the deceased, the
victim was identified as Micah Miller.
A6 Sawyer 9mm handgun was located in the water at the
crime scene During the search ofthe area.
The serial number on the weapon matched the gun box that was
found in Miller's Honda. During the investigation,
Miller's phone and other personal belongings were

(05:55):
located. A search for Miller's Miller's
phone revealed that she conducted a Google search for
National Parks near me and the Lumber River State Park location
was provided. The investigation also revealed
that Miller and her estranged husband, John Paul Miller, had
been separated and were involvedin the legal system.
This information led to the investigators confirming the

(06:17):
whereabouts of Miller and a female that he is allegedly
romantically involved with. Investigators were able to
confirm that both individuals were not in North Carolina on
the night before and the day of Miller's death.
Investigators learned through interviews that John Paul Miller
was at an athletic event and Charleston on the day of Micah

(06:38):
Miller's death. John Miller's vehicle was
observed traveling on Hwy. 17 bypass in Horry County at 2:22
PM on April 27th, 2024. The investigation confirmed that
John Miller was accompanied while traveling to and from the
event in Charleston, SC on Tuesday May 7th, 2024.

(07:02):
Sheriff Burnis, Welcome Wilkins Investigators and the Medical
Examiner met with the parents and immediate family members of
Micah Miller. John Paul Miller was given the
opportunity to attend a separatemeeting and Miller indicated
through his attorney that he would not come to North Carolina
to meet with the investigators. Investigators conducted several

(07:24):
interviews and developed a timeline of events in relation
to Miller's death. On April 27th, 2024, 11:00 AM,
Miller was observed on her ring camera arriving at her residence
on Margarita, Dr. Myrtle Beach, SC. 11:38 AM Miller was observed
on her ring camera leaving her residence. 12:12 PM Miller is

(07:47):
observed on store surveillance walking into Dick's Pawn Shop,
which is located at 1852 Mr. JoeWhite Ave.
Myrtle Beach, SC 1213 Miller is observed at the register and
initiates the purchase of a weapon. 12:34 PM.
Miller is observed leaving Dick's Pawn Shop after

(08:08):
purchasing a weapon and ammunition one O 6:00 PM.
Miller's Black Honda is is is observed traveling on Hwy. 5 O
one near 4 mile Rd. Conway, SC 127 PM.
Miller's Black Honda is observedarriving at 41 Grocery and
Grill, which is located at 41 SC41 Mullins SC 1:35 PM.

(08:33):
Miller is observed leaving the store after purchasing a drink
and gas. 2:54 PM Miller called Robeson County from Lumber River
State Park. The Lumber River State Park is
32.7 miles, 41 minutes from 41 Grocery and Grill in Mullins via
South Carolina 9 N 911 call included below.

(08:57):
First let me say on behalf of the Robeson County Sheriff's
Office that our sincere condolences are being sent to
the family and friends of Micah Miller, says Sheriff Burnis
Wilkins. This incident has garnered much
attention from across the Carolinas and beyond.
I want to assure everyone that avery methodical investigation
was conducted by our Criminal Investigations team and Crime

(09:19):
Scene Investigative team. Unfortunately, rumors and
conspiracy theories were spreading quickly and
assumptions were being made. However, in the end we must make
decisions based on the facts andevidence that has been gathered.
While I know it's not what many people wanted to hear, the
evidence is quite clear and compelling and we are saddened

(09:40):
as anyone that this occurred. There are many factors that we
have reviewed that occurred overan extended period of time that
are probably related to the reason for this investigation.
But in the end, sadly, A tragic decision was made by Micah that
ended her life. And again, that is the media

(10:00):
release from the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
Now first of all, in the beginning when they say that her
Honda Accord was observed, he would think they would Fact
Check before posting this. Micah did not have a Honda
Accord. I believe it was a Honda Civic
if I'm not mistaken. There are several photos and if

(10:23):
you zoom in on the back of her car, very clearly says Civic.
So there's that and then that last paragraph relating to the
factors that they've reviewed. That probably is related to the
reason for this investigation. So are they acknowledging that

(10:48):
the circumstances of her marriage and the abuse she
claims to have suffered and her family members and friends claim
she suffered and the harassment and the stalking are the Is the
Sheriff's Office acknowledging that that's perhaps why she
allegedly chose to end her life because her husband made her

(11:09):
life unbearable? Now, even though the Sheriff's
Office has released the statement and this is seemingly
a closed case, the online crime community is utterly refusing to
believe this. There are accusations that the
911 call released is not Micah, that perhaps it is AI generated.

(11:32):
People are not pleased with the surveillance video.
Some folks feel that that's not Micah at all.
Other folks are questioning why this person depicted in this
screen grab does not have a tattoo on her right hand when
Micah in fact did have a tattoo. Also, Nancy Grace has now jumped
onto this story and one of Micah's friends was on this

(11:56):
episode and I want to play some of the clips of this because it
seems as though her friend is having a very hard time
believing that she committed suicide as well.
So let me let me play some of this for you.
So am I surprised that she's dead?
Yes, because she was so smart and I hoped she would escape it.

(12:18):
But this guy seemed scary. He seemed calculated and you
could tell she was definitely infear, even being away from him.
And then we have more. However, when she was with us a
year ago, this this girl had fight.
She was mentally stable. She was ready to start a new

(12:41):
life. She was ready to go on mission
ship. She was ready to make an impact
on everyone in her community, too.
So that seems to be a reoccurring claim about Micah is
that she had fight she wanted out of her marriage.
She was looking forward to starting over again.
She was looking forward to the future.
She was looking forward to a newlife free of John Paul Miller.

(13:05):
So why would she allegedly decide to end her life?
The 911 call is gut wrenching, but again, there's people online
who don't necessarily believe that it's her.
There are other claims that, youknow, his truck was observed.

(13:26):
How do we know that he was actually in that truck?
Is his only person confirming his alibi, this girlfriend.
It wouldn't be the first time that a significant other has
lied about someone's alibi in the events of a crime.
You know who else seen him at this event?

(13:47):
There's no, there's no answers about that as of yet.
And then going over some of the different things that have been
shared on the Facebook page thatis posting really every kind of

(14:07):
update you could imagine. They're now seemingly digging
into some of John Paul Miller's criminal history.
So here we have offense date March 29th, 2000 Knowingly
damaged property over $300.00 Aggravated assault with a deadly

(14:30):
weapon. Then we have another one offense
date February 8th, 2000. Charges are knowingly damaged
Property over $300.00. Possession of a liquor by a
minor, Another Possession of a liquor by a minor, Possession of
consume liquor by minor Possession of cannabis over 2.5g

(14:53):
and contributing to the delinquency of a child Offense.
Date September 14th, 2003. Domestic battery Bodily Harm
Domestic battery Physical contact.
So certainly no St. Pastor John Paul Miller.

(15:22):
And of course other people are now coming out with their
experiences with John Paul Miller.
Photos have been shared, storiesare being shared, and then there
are questions as to why Micah would potentially call 911 to

(15:43):
make sure that the phone could be located but then leave her
vehicle. There's also been some back and
forth of whether she was found within the woods or in the
water. The Robeson County media release
says that she was in the water and the gun was in the water.
Solid Rock Church is now apparently presuming business as

(16:07):
usual, announcing on Facebook that they will be having church
service every Sunday at 10:00 AMand that this will commence this
Sunday, May 12th. Just absolutely unbelievable.
There has also been an event report released and it would
appear that John Paul Miller attempted to take things out of

(16:29):
Micah's apartment after she died.
According to a Myrtle Beach police report, the leasing agent
wouldn't allow it to happen because he knew John Paul Miller
didn't like Micah so he promptlycalled police, the notes state.
Complainant stated that his wifepassed away and is trying to get

(16:50):
the belongings out of the apartment, but the leasing
manager will not let him in due to quote her not liking him.
End Quote Once an officer to stand by while he get while he
gets some belongings out of the apartment.
In depth warning for redacted for entire complex mail moved
along with no issues and responding officer provided

(17:13):
staff with the event number so it looks like he was not
permitted into her apartment andawesome on that manager for not
letting her in. It seems like everyone around
her knew this situation and how bad this seemingly was.

(17:34):
Given what we know about the guy, it's not shocking, but at
the same time somewhat shocking and disgusting that he refused
to go to North Carolina to speakwith detectives, but he was
still able to announce her deathto his congregation and also
announce to a full room of people that it was self induced

(17:56):
long before this media release and authorities confirmed that.
So I suppose he was going off ofassumption.
He certainly didn't go to North Carolina to find out much about
what had happened to his wife. It's also been confirmed by some
North Carolina locals that you can indeed simply go purchase a

(18:20):
firearm. There is no waiting period or
anything like that. But something that I do find
interesting and I have some questions about is, you know,
one, it is very, very unusual for a female to use a firearm to

(18:43):
commit suicide. It happens, but statistically it
does not happen often. Most women go for, you know,
pills or something of that nature.
So that's the first kind of red herring of the situation.
Maybe. But then too, there's no mention

(19:04):
of a note. Most people leave a note.
Is there a note? Was 1 recovered.
And you know, from my research and the cases I've covered, it's
my understanding that law enforcement are to treat every

(19:25):
death as a homicide until they have proof of otherwise.
So was her car fingerprinted? What evidence was collected from
her vehicle, aside from what they've mentioned in the media,
release receipts and a gun case and these these items?
Was the car fingerprinted? Was her phone fingerprinted?

(19:49):
I'd be curious what other investigative efforts were made
while looking into this case, because it is to be considered a
homicide until evidence proves otherwise.
So was the card you know, fingerprinted?
Did they collect samples from her car?

(20:12):
What was collected on scene where they located her those
those types of questions are thequestions that I have and
there's also an interview that'scome out with the fisherman who
found her bag and claims to haveheard cries.
It just it is absolutely gut wrenching to think of her crying

(20:36):
alone in the woods and choosing to end her life.
Potentially. Also, it says that she was found
in the water. I would and I'm going to look
into it, but I would be curious to know what the statistics are
of people who get into the waterto end their life.
That seems unusual as well. It's just this entire case is so

(21:02):
shocking and has seemingly kind of just been all over the place
and more things began to come out.
And I'm also curious, now that it's been ruled a suicide, will
there be a wrongful death suit against John Paul Miller?

(21:23):
Because it would appear that if in fact she did truly end her
own life, it is due to the circumstances that she suffered
by him that perhaps she felt there was no other way out and
she had just had enough. So I'm very curious to see if

(21:46):
there is going to be a wrongful death suit coming given his
actions against her, all of the police reports and everything
that the family and the friends know.
Without his abuse and harassment, would this have ever
happened? It's very, it's very
questionable, especially since she was excited for a life away

(22:10):
from him and going on a mission. She had even recently shipped
belongings to Kenya for a mission she was preparing to go
on. So what happened between being
excited for a bright new future, filing for divorce, requesting
spousal support, having him served?
A court date is set. She ships belongings to Kenya.

(22:34):
She's preparing for a mission and then she up and decides to
go to a pawn shop and get a gun to end her life.
It just it doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense.
And I think that's why a lot of people are having a hard time

(22:56):
accepting that this is a suicide, even though authorities
are saying that it's a suicide. And don't even get me started
into all of the information that's being shared online about
the Robeson County Sheriff's Department seems to be allegedly
quite a bit of corruption there. So that seems to be another

(23:19):
reason that people, especially the locals, are having a hard
time believing that this was properly investigated and that
this determination of her cause and manner of death is not
somehow skewed to say the least. An interesting point I heard
discussed while I was listening to the latest Nancy Grace

(23:42):
episode. They brought up the case of the
female who encouraged her male friend to kill himself.
This also was made into, I believe it was a Hulu series.
But she received jail time for her part in provoking and

(24:07):
encouraging him committing suicide.
So if the actions of her husband, the abuse, the
stalking, the flattening of the tires, the showing up where she
was tracking devices on her vehicle, if those actions
resulted in her decision to killherself, should.

(24:29):
Should there not be some level of accountability for the person
who did the things to her that led her to feel she had no other
choice but to take her own life?I definitely.
I thought that was a very interesting point that Nancy
Grace and some of her expert witnesses made, and I was going

(24:53):
to play the 911 call, but I've decided not to.
It's just, it's emotional, it's gut wrenching.
It's so sad. And I'm pretty disgusted by the
lack of response of the 911 dispatcher.
You would think that they go through some sort of a training

(25:14):
in order to help callers, callers who may be suicidal.
This woman gave absolutely nothing to Micah.
She is likely, most likely the last person that Micah Miller
ever spoke to. And when Micah said she was

(25:36):
about to kill herself, this woman paused.
There was silence. She did not attempt to intervene
or talk her down at all, which is despicable and a tragedy
being what her career field is. Hopefully that's that's being

(25:58):
looked into because I think it'sit's one of the most upsetting
parts about hearing the 911 call.
It just, it seems so odd and maybe a lack of professionalism,
a lack of training, a lack of care, but this 911 operator did
not try to talk to her, try to de escalate what she was

(26:25):
feeling. Nothing, Just it's very sad.
And then I'm I'm just this has been a hard case to cover.
It's just so deeply, deeply bothersome on so many levels,

(26:52):
especially the fact that this man has been in the church for a
very long time, is supposed to be a trustworthy member of the
community, member of the Church, and is seemingly using his
position in the church to prey upon young women and groom them.

(27:14):
Micah at least. But how many others are there
that we don't know about? At least one female has come
forward on social media and shared her story of her
interactions and things that happened with John Paul Miller.
It's very lengthy. I'm not going to reread it here
and I'm not sure that that's been corroborated that you know,

(27:38):
she's actually someone who's been in contact with him or has
dealt with him at any point. But stands to reason that if
he's done it once, he's probablydone it more and it's just
hasn't been discovered yet. But I don't think the that the
findings and ruling of this being a suicide is going to stop

(28:02):
the heat on John Paul Miller. Everything that has come out is
so bothersome and just disgusting, and there needs to
be some accountability for his part in all of this, as well as
the other things that he has done before this that should not
have been allowed, should not have been overlooked, and he

(28:25):
needs to have a come to Jesus moment.
He needs to be held accountable for all of his disgusting
choices and actions. Now to recap, is it possible she
chose to end her life? Absolutely.

(28:46):
But do all of the pieces line upand make sense?
Not at all. The friend of Micah's who was on
Nancy Grace as well as a police report have seemingly declared
that John Paul Miller began grooming Micah as early as ten

(29:07):
years old. Her friend spoke about this on
Nancy Grace stating that Micah had told her that and there is a
police report that has also comeout and the call was for a
vehicle theft. And in the details in the
summary of this report and Micahspeaking with the officer, she
disclosed that her husband, JohnPaul Miller began grooming her

(29:31):
when she was 10 years old. There's certainly evidence of
church abuse here, not only withMicah but other people.
John Paul Miller's father seemingly has a very colorful
past to say the least. And Micah also shared with her
friend that her stepchildren were close in her age.

(29:54):
So where are these children while their father is being
dragged on the Internet and accused of murdering his wife?
The silence is deafening. Also, where is the mother of
these children? Where is John Paul Miller's
ex-wife? And where is John Paul Miller's
mother? Is she still alive?

(30:18):
No one knows. I also want to share something
that is circling and it is called Operation Tarnished Badge
and this was posted and uploadedby the haunted side True Crime
on TikTok and this relates to aninvestigation into Robeson

(30:43):
County officials and Sheriff's Office.
So listen to this. In the Micah Miller case, let's
talk about Operation Tarnished Badge.
Operation Tarnished Badge is thelargest investigation of police
corruption in the history of thestate of North Carolina.
What does this have to do with Micah, you ask?

(31:03):
Operation Tarnished Badge was aninvestigation on Robeson County
Sheriff's Office. Robeson County is who is
handling the investigation on Micah's death because this is
where her body was located. This is also the Sheriff's
Office that allegedly received aphone call stating the caller to
be Micah and the caller allegedly explained what they
were about to do before the trigger was pulled allegedly.

(31:27):
Let's dig in. For years, rumors spread of
rampant corruption in the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
It was nothing that anyone couldreally hang their hat on,
District Attorney Johnson Britt said.
Things that just on the surface, didn't appear to be right.
They noticed some deputies living well beyond their means,

(31:48):
buying grandiose homes, high dollar cars, motorcycles, boats
and designer clothing. Complaints and allegations of
corruption began surfacing during the course of
investigations. An informant came forward saying
deputies had given him a Pew Pewduring a home invasion that they
had disguised as a sting operation.
The suspicions intensified because information in a report

(32:10):
filed by the deputies was missing.
So was the Pew. Pew it turned up later in a
deputy's private locker. They asked the State Bureau of
Investigation to look into the matter, marking the beginning of
the largest investigation of police corruption in state
history, Operation Tarnished Badge.
In all, 22 lawmen, including former Sheriff Glenn Maynor,

(32:32):
were charged with crimes including pirating satellite
television signals, kidnapping, perjury, drug trafficking, armed
robbery and money laundering. While the SBI was investigating
the missing Pew. Pew agents were looking into a
case in which a deputy had planted evidence.
Those cases kind of morphed intothe larger investigation as more

(32:54):
people were interviewed and morepeople started cooperating.
The indictment detailed illegal acts including the arson of two
homes and a business, assault, theft of public money,
distribution of drugs, and moneylaundering.
The indictment said the lawmen used Mary Jane as payment for
committing arson, provided drugsto confidential informants, and

(33:15):
stole thousands of dollars during six highway stops on
Interstate 95. While those investigations
unfolded, another bizarre crime implicated two other deputies
who were accused of kidnapping and robbing 2 alleged drug
dealers. The entire department was
implicated when the investigation turned to
satellite TV piracy. More than half of those charged

(33:37):
in Operation Tarnished Badge faced piracy charges.
The problem was you had corruption to the highest level.
The reason you got this corruption was because you had
nobody minding the store. Everybody was involved at one
point or another, or just about everybody.
You had some actual decent people who worked there.

(33:57):
But when you work at an organization where you see stuff
going on at the highest level, or stuff being looked the other
way or being winked at, that's how it happens.
That's how it mushrooms. The rumors had always been
there, locals said, recalling whispers of corruption in the
highest echelons of county government dating back to the
1970s. But nothing ever came of it.

(34:20):
So when Tarnished Badge came along, it was like, maybe it
does exist. How can we trust the word of
someone who is tied to such a corrupt area?
Especially when the statement given by Doctor Richard Johnson,
the alleged medical examiner, said he wasn't the on call
medical examiner the weekend Micah died, but he went to the
scene to assist the on call medical examiner.

(34:43):
Why insert yourself? If this wasn't your case, why
are you the one determining everything?
Why did you take over? Normally I wouldn't feed into
the conspiracies, but this entire case gets more bizarre by
the hour and now we have proof of the corruption that has been
riddled through the county for decades.
What are your thoughts? Now that is a lot to take in,

(35:11):
but how is the public expected to trust the findings of the
Robeson County Sheriff's Office and the medical Examiner
relating to Micah Miller's deathwhen this is their track record?
How do we believe anything that they have come to declare in

(35:36):
this case? This needs to be looked at by a
higher level the FBI, the SBI, Someone Robeson County should
not be spearheading this with the corruption and apparently
the ties potentially to John Paul Miller's family.

(35:58):
This very vaguely somewhat reminds me of the Alex Murdoch
case, because one event led to another, led to another, and
ultimately caused everything to unravel.
And Micah's death is going to bethe snip in the thread that

(36:22):
causes everything to unravel. Whether she truly did take her
own life or she was murdered because let's be honest, even if
John Paul Miller was not there does not mean someone he sent or
hired wasn't in the surveillancevideo in the pawn shop.

(36:43):
Micah Miller has a necklace on and one clip and then does not
have it on in the next. There's no addressing of the
necklace and what came of it. Did she trade it for the gun?
Did she give it to the pawn shop?
No one knows. It has not been addressed.
However, the heat on John Paul Miller and Solid Rock Church I

(37:07):
don't believe is going anywhere. And if she did indeed choose to
end her own life, I I don't think she ever imagined that
this would become such a topic across the US and on social
media. The one thing she wanted to do

(37:29):
