Hello Clarisse, welcome back or welcome to Autopsy of a Crime.
So this episode, I really debated if I was going to even
record an episode for this. There is a new post up on the
sub stack covering this deeply and I debated if I wanted to
(02:43):
record about this as well. And here we are.
Here we go. So I am and we're back on the
Idaho student murders. The defense, really same as last
episode, they're really throwinganything and everything at the
(03:03):
wall. But like many of you, I've been
closely following this case since day one, 2 1/2 years ago.
And the topic of the 911 call has been such a a point of
interest and tension on why and how this was initially reported
(03:32):
as an unconscious person when the truth of the scene must have
been such a gruesome reality. As we know, the 911 transcript
was released in a prosecution court filing.
(03:52):
And I've also now been able to watch a YouTube creator who
claims that he has the audio of the 911 call breakdown.
What he claims he is hearing in that audio.
And if you don't know or you haven't seen it, that is the DT
(04:15):
show on YouTube. He claims that he received the
911 audio from a FOIA request. And I will also link that video
in the description below this episode so that you can check it
out if you're interested. It's also linked on the new
autopsy of a crime sub stack post where I went over this in
(04:38):
depth as well. So personally, I can't believe I
didn't consider this sooner. Most of us have seen the photo
that circulated widely across the Internet within the days
(04:58):
after this, when it was still anactive crime scene.
There was blood seeping down thefoundation of the outside of the
home, and when we consider that, surely no one that went inside
would mistake this for simply anunconscious person.
(05:22):
And in the days and weeks after this first happened, floor plans
were posted online at the home. I think at some point someone
even found photos from a previous listing where the home
was either listed for rent or listed for sale and you could
really get an idea of the insidelayout of this house and that
(05:47):
infamous photo of the blood running down an exterior wall.
After seeing these photos of theinside of the house and what the
layout was like and hearing the media cover it and explain, you
know, whose rooms were on each floor, I personally came to the
conclusion that that infamous photo of the blood seeping from
(06:10):
inside of the home running down the foundation on the exterior
was actually an exterior wall ofZana's bedroom.
And after now watching this DT YouTube creator go over what he
(06:32):
says is in the audio, he has notreleased the audio.
He says he wants to be respectful, which I can
appreciate. It's unknown if the families of
any of the victims have heard this call.
But after watching his episode or his stream and reading this
911 transcript again and again now, some people have speculated
(07:00):
that perhaps the surviving roommates and the friends that
were called over were in just such a state of shock that they
didn't mention the blood that must have been in this scene or
they their brains shut down and they didn't want to believe that
their friends were dead. And so they reported it as
(07:20):
unconscious. And for many of us who have not
experienced a trauma like this, it's hard to imagine and hard to
wrap our heads around there. It may seem that it would be
very cut and dry, but when you're in a situation like that,
you don't know how you're going to react.
You don't know how your brain isgoing to process seeing
(07:43):
something like this. So as I said, I've watched this
YouTube creator and I've read and reread the 911 transcript
and I have a new theory. And in hindsight, it seems like
(08:04):
the most obvious answer that somehow I missed that many of us
missed. The simplest answer is often
right. And this was reported as an
unconscious person because no one had gone upstairs.
(08:24):
I don't believe that any of themhad seen the scene or their
friends when the 911 call was placed.
And we also now have some texts that have been released by
another prosecution filing and it's text between the two
surviving roommates after DM seeing a masked man in the home
(08:49):
and seemingly then she went downstairs to B FS room.
And they tried and tried to makecontact with their roommates.
And it's said or believed that they eventually fell asleep.
So for the information that we have now, I think it's most
(09:11):
plausible that the girls eventually did fall asleep.
They woke up the next morning, they tried making contact with
their roommates again, which is confirmed in court documents,
and they got no response. And we know from exterior
footage of the home once it was a crime scene.
(09:34):
All of the vehicles were there. And it's even possible that when
they were trying to contact their roommates and their
friends, they could hear their phones ringing or vibrating, and
yet they got no response. I think the two surviving
roommates were really shaken up.They didn't know what was going
(09:55):
on. They may have even been a bit
hungover. I think DM was still in a state
of shock and confusion, which issupported by her interviews that
she's done with police that she didn't know if she was dreaming
or if this was real life. I mean, she was in such a state
of denial that the item she's seen this masked person in the
(10:20):
home with, she thought it was a vacuum attachment.
She was in such a state of denial.
And I think the girls were confused.
And so I think at that point, the next day, they were scared
and they reached out to their friend and neighbor.
And I believe it was Hunter, whowas a friend of Ethan's as well
(10:44):
and his girlfriend who came over.
And they're also, apparently, according to DT on YouTube,
they're also on the 911 call as the phones passed around
multiple times. So I've listened to this and
(11:06):
I've read the transcript. I, I think that these girls,
they woke up the next day, as I said, they were still trying to
reach their roommates. They reach out to Hunter, he
comes over, and I think it's possible.
And then the DT show also seems to believe this, that Hunter
(11:33):
discovered the scene and at least one of the victims during
the 911 call. And it seems so much more
plausible now looking at it, that no one had gone to the
middle floor, much less the 3rd.When 911 was called, DM had seen
(11:55):
a masked man in the house. She went to BF's room.
They ended up falling asleep. They tried to reach their
friends, they fell asleep. They wake up, they try reaching
their friends, they're not getting an answer.
So they call Hunter over and they call 911.
And during the 911 call, the dispatcher is asking for updates
(12:16):
on Xana, who they're saying, youknow, isn't waking up.
But I don't think they had been upstairs.
They they had come to this conclusion because they couldn't
get an answer from her. And so the dispatcher asks, is
she breathing? And this forces them into the
(12:40):
home. And I think at minimum Hunter
seen all love or parts of the scene as it pertained to Zana
and Ethan. And then he responds to the
dispatcher and says no, answering her question.
(13:04):
Is she breathing? No.
And now looking at it from this perspective, it just makes so
much more sense. Realizing too, that it's
possible only Hunter seen the true horror that was inside of
that home, and after seeing whomever or whatever he's seen
(13:27):
on the 2nd floor, it's likely that none of them then went up
to the third floor. So that's why much of the focus
was on Zana. So with this in mind, let's go
back over the night and the morning.
(13:51):
DM sees a masked man. She tries to make contact with
Kaylee. She then text BF telling her
that no one's answering and who and what she's seen.
BF tells DM to come to her room, run.
Both girls then continue to try and reach the roommates with no
(14:12):
reply. They eventually fall asleep.
They awake the next morning and they try again to call and text
their roommates and they get no reply.
They then contact Hunter. Hunter comes over and I believe
there's one other person on the scene and it seems as though
they may be outside of the housewhen they call 911.
(14:36):
And then the dispatcher throughout the the call
eventually asks if she is breathing, she being Zana.
And then in the transcript as well, someone within the call
states that they have to go look.
And this forces at least one person inside of the home who
(14:59):
discovers Xana and possibly Ethan.
And then the dispatcher is told no, she's not breathing.
And this seems to make so much more sense it it seems like such
an obvious answer that everyone missed because we were all so
(15:22):
bogged down by the details, by it being reported as an
unconscious person and then finding out how horrific this
actually was. And how was it possibly reported
as an unconscious person? I think the dispatcher gathered
whatever he or she could from the four people they spoke to
during the 911 call. And I don't think any
(15:43):
dispatcher, unless they're told explicitly that this is a
homicide or someone's dead, thatthey're, they're going to reach
that conclusion. And so the dispatcher took the
information they had gathered and this is what was put in.
And yes, it went out as an unconscious person, but I don't
(16:04):
believe that necessarily anyone had been to the middle floor or
the third floor to really try and see what was going on with
their friends and their roommates.
They were scared and spooked by what DM had seen in the house
(16:25):
and this unknown person, man with bushy eyebrows who's
dressed in all black and ski mask sort of mask and he's
carrying something large that she correlated to a vacuum
attachment sort of thing, which was most likely the knife and
weapon that was used. And I think they were just
(16:46):
scared and they knew that their cars were there and they're
calling them. They don't hear any movement.
They're not getting an answer. And they called 911.
I don't think that they had beento really investigate, knock on
their bedroom doors, go into their bedrooms until the
dispatcher asked if Santa was breathing and someone had to go
(17:10):
in and try to see. The creator for the DT show on
YouTube even says that within the audio for the 911 call,
Hunter can be heard. You can hear that they're kind
of going into the house and Hunter says, Xana, Ethan, it's
(17:32):
me kind of making himself known before he walks into what I'm
sure changed the rest of his life, whatever he's seen.
And personally, I'm just kind ofdumbfounded that none of none of
(17:54):
us consider this sooner. Obviously, this just seems like,
yes, that's why it came out as an unconscious, unresponsive
person. And so, so many of us were just
consumed by how that could have possibly happened.
(18:17):
And I, I think this is most likely the answer.
So wanted to record this quick episode for you guys.
It looks like this is probably going to be about 17 minutes
long. It's a short one, but given how
much, how many questions have been around this 911 call and
(18:37):
the reports of an unconscious person, I really wanted to I
really wanted to get this episode out there for you guys
again. I have also posted a new post on
sub stack going over this and there is a new dedicated section
on the sub stack that is specifically for everything
(18:59):
Idaho, everything relating to the murders of Kaylee, Maddie,
Zanna, and Ethan. There is now a dedicated tab on
the autopsy of a crime sub stack.
So everything will be under thattab as new posts go out and
episode source post. So feel free to go check that
(19:23):
out and check out the DT show onYouTube and the video going over
the audio. I'll link that below.
Thank you guys for listening andI'll be back soon.
