Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm your host, the
Gentle Yoga Warrior, and this is
Awakened ConsciousConversations podcast, and
today's episode was actuallyinspired by a dear friend of
mine who has been so helpful inunofficially mentoring me on
some aspects of my life, and herinspiration about a vision
(00:23):
board and I'd kind of forgottenabout vision boards because I've
become a bit kind of jadedabout them um, they're so kind
of thrown around in theself-help world and also, um, it
became a trendy to say that ifyou couldn't manifest things,
then there was something wrongwith you.
Basically, you weren't workinghard enough, and I know that's
(00:44):
not always the case.
In fact, generally I don'tthink it is.
I feel that some things arefate and we can't change, but
there are some things we canchange, but it's actually
knowing the why which makes thebiggest difference, I think.
And so my manifestation boardisn't full of, like, expensive
cars or clothes or all thosekind of things.
(01:07):
It's more to do with kind ofhow I want to feel and the kind
of life I want to create daily, rather than thinking, oh, I need
to have it like this or I needto have this, and I feel that's
what's given it real substance, and there are some really great
manifestation coaches out thereand I always find great
(01:28):
inspiration personally frompeople who have managed to kind
of change their life around whenthey've come from nothing.
Not to say and please don'tthink by any means, if you've
come from a good background, that there's no way that you can
help people.
You definitely can and in manyways, if you've come from a good
background, that there's no waythat you can help people.
You definitely can and in manyways, if you've come from an
abundant background, you knowwhat abundance um is like.
(01:50):
So many ways you can help teachpeople not to know what that is
.
I I'm just thinking thatsometimes it's hard for people
who haven't have come fromnothing to to to know what it
feels like to have things.
It kind of can be like a block.
But I think the most importantthing in all of this this is all
going to solve together as theepisode goes by, but the most
(02:12):
important thing is to acceptyourself completely and utterly,
as you are right, this moment, also being open to things
changing, to things changingmanifestation, and you know like
it's.
It can be a tricky process, butmy friend broke it down so
(02:33):
elegantly that I felt the needto kind of listen to her words
and I literally spent about halfa day, maybe a bit longer, and
um, I'm not one for being greatat drawing and things like that,
so I did mine, like um, I usedto.
You've used Canva, which is aprogram um that you can use, or
(02:56):
there's other programs out there, but I've just put together
every aspect of my life and umwith manifestation in of what I
needed, but not just from amaterial thing, from, like an
emotional point of view, aspiritual point of view, from a
point of view of support, etc.
And I made this.
(03:17):
I made I actually ended updoing like four, five a five
sheets and I put it all togetherand it looks really beautiful.
I'm very proud of it and ithelped me a great deal.
And this time of year we arenavigating very choppy waters.
There's something about April.
It's quite.
It's quite a young fire signand for whatever reason,
(03:43):
astrology I'm not an astrologist, but I know there's a lot going
on with kind of um negativemirroring at the moment between
people and the world, and it can, we can kind of sometimes go
down that that rabbit hole ofthinking, oh, like, what's kind
of, what's the point?
(04:03):
And then, and why bother tryingany further.
But I listen, I mean, I say toyou it is worth trying.
Um, my friend, I won't sharedetails because it's personal to
them, but I know that thisprocess worked for them in the
past.
So that's why I went about anddid it, and I can feel like it's
(04:25):
a subtle shift and a kind ofthing.
And and people say, oh, do youkeep it in front of you or do
you like, um, do you have to?
Do you bury the, themanifestation boards that you do
?
Do you put them somewhere?
For me, I like want to leave itout for a while and then I'll
put them away, and I think it'ssomething I'm going to do every
(04:48):
year.
I kind of stopped doing itbecause I got a bit disheartened
when everything didn't cometrue.
But then I remember one year Iwanted to have this beautiful
Christmas and I put togetherthis Christmas board and I had
the best Christmas I ever had,and so that is proof to me that
they can work.
But I think it's knowing likeyou can't just put like, oh, I
(05:08):
want a Rolls Royce on it,without knowing you want a Rolls
Royce if that's what you wanted, of course, um, so I focus more
on, like the spiritual side, and also what, what, what
support I needed and and why andwhere I going to, and it feels
like it's got a lot of truth andbeauty in it.
So stay tuned.
(05:31):
I've been doing this thing whereI've been looking at every kind
of emotion as much as onepossibly can that comes up, and
there is occasionally some onesthat just come up and they just
sweep up and before you know it,one's right in that emotion.
But I'm talking about the onesthat we can pause and we can
(05:52):
look at for a moment.
And, um, I have been reading agreat book about Carl Jung and
um, kind of how he came up withhis system and he was the one
that came up with collectiveconsciousness, which is the word
that's used quite a lot in theNew Age literature.
(06:15):
Um, as far as I'm aware, andalso our own consciousness, and
I feel that we shouldn't fear, like um, if we are being
negative, because I think thatis wrong to get people to fear
that.
But I do feel that we do havethe power.
There's some things we just donot have power for, like we
can't change change ourgovernment, we can't change the
(06:37):
fact that salaries just do notseem to have gone up in decades.
And yet all our utility billsgo up by a considerable amount
each year and one can becomevery disheartened by that,
because the more we're kind offeeling disheartened and we
don't try and change ourselves, because we feel a bit kind of
(06:59):
hopeless.
But I would say do not let yourwealth make you feel how
important you are, because thathas got nothing to do with it.
It's how you feel inside andhow you feel inside as a person,
and actually sometimes you canget joy by living a bit more
frugally.
(07:19):
I kind of had like a tippingpoint yesterday because I'd had
like um, I had a long day atwork, I had a nice walk, but I
was really, really hungry and um, I'm not supposed to have
gluten either and um, I avoiddairy as well.
So it was just like I was goingto have like a pizza, because I
just really felt like I neededsome comfort food.
(07:41):
But and then sometimes one mayneed that.
But I just actually steppedback and thought actually no,
I've still got some homemadevegetable soup in the fridge and
um, okay, so maybe a pizzamight be more appealing than
homemade vegetable soup, but um,I felt so much more better
(08:03):
after having the vegetable soupand not kind of wasting the
thing.
The thing was wasn't the factit was a pizza reeve and it was
just the cost to get it kind ofdelivered and I thought, gosh,
that I could get like three daysworth of food, um from the cost
of this delivery.
And I, and it's just so havingthe awareness of like not not
kind of um, not wasting money, but equally, if you, if you feel
(08:28):
like you've had like a hardtime, and I think there's
nothing wrong with like having ameal with your loved one or
maybe by yourself or with familyoccasionally and having fun in
in that way, it's not to say wecan't find enjoyment, but I've
realized it's finding enjoymentin the little things and by um
doing that, I think it helps usmanifest.
(08:49):
I know that sounds strange youthink.
Oh well, I want to.
I'm trying to manifest kind ofmore, but it's more of finding
ourselves more full and the linkback to everything I'm saying
is that we become more full whenwe kind of see things from a
purer lens, and that purer lensis by watching our emotions,
(09:10):
catching them and asking theself is this really the reality?
Is this really really thereality, like, just say, someone
said a crossword to us and thenmaybe we in our mind we come up
this whole story of why thatwas not to say you shouldn't
have boundaries and peopleshould respect your boundaries
and treat you with love and careand cherish you.
(09:34):
That is so important that peoplecherish you.
However you contribute, aperson to cherish them is
yourself, and you learn tocherish yourself by giving
yourself the time to look atemotions that aren't necessarily
working um for you.
In a sense that it's like alearned behavior that we've
(09:54):
decided that's what it's like, that's how it is, and we can
just look at those emotions andthink, actually, is this
actually the reality of what ishappening right now, or is this
a learned behavior?
And by doing that we clean ourlens, so then we can then see
what we want to manifest a bitmore.
(10:15):
But I think it's important towork on both at the same time,
because we're never going to bea completely clear lens person
unless they reach enlightenment, which is a very small
percentage of the population.
However, we can come become thebest possible, brightest version
of ourselves, and that is byaccepting the aspects of ourself
that we don't like and andfinding the lessons within those
(10:39):
aspects of ourselves that wedon't like and going for it, and
finding what gives you joy andwhat you need.
So sometimes I think we have todo all these elaborate courses
and learn different things andof course, I am so into
education and learning about newthings but what you already
(10:59):
know inside, what and what.
What works for you.
For me, sitting with naturereally works for me.
It helps me a lot, meditationhelps me a lot, yoga helps me a
lot, and um eating better helpsme a lot.
All these kinds of thingsconnection when I want it, but
(11:21):
also enough time to be by myselfthat also helps me a lot.
So there's so many ways in whichwe can learn to kind of change
our being and our way of umbeing, but also um.
I think it's Deepak.
Deepak Chopra said I can'tremember exactly, but something
(11:43):
about us accepting, taking fullresponsibility of our lives, but
also accepting ourselves on theway he put it a bit more
eloquently, but it was somethingalong those lines of kind of
taking complete responsibilityfor who we are, accepting
ourselves, knowing thateverything is as it should be,
(12:05):
and I thought that's a reallygood way to say it.
So to me that shows that you'reworking on yourself, you're
accepting yourself, you'rechanging yourself, but you're
not thinking, oh, I'm terrible,I'm wrong, because we're all
doing the best we can in thesituations that we are in and
that's what I really feel.
(12:28):
So for today's meditation, toptips for the meditation is
either sit nice and cross-leggedon the floor with a nice
straight back always nice to siton a block or a cushion,
although that's not availablefor you, you sit in a chair with
the back nice and straight.
The important thing is you'renot slouching and if you're
(12:48):
doing something that requiresyour concentration, all you need
to do is just pause this andyou can reconvene the meditation
at a time that is good for you.
If you're doing the meditation, let's begin.
You're just going to sit backnice and calmly, take a few
calming, deep breaths andimagine you are in a room that
(13:12):
has a great big blank canvas andthat canvas represents the
possibilities of your being.
And you're in this imaginaryroom and this beautiful blank
canvas is in front of you andyou start to take some calmer,
(13:35):
deeper breaths, allowing thespark of possibility to begin to
come up within your being, thiswonderful spark of possibility
as you slowly and elegantlystart to see a paint palette by
(13:59):
the side of you in thisimaginary vision, either side of
you in this imaginary vision.
But before you pick up the brush, just bring your energy into
your heart center.
So just imagine that there'sthis warm, beautiful pink light
within the area of your heartcenter, your energetic heart,
(14:24):
and you breathe that love withinthat heart center and just
allowing, allowing, allowing, and ever so gently, now feeling
that love within the heartcenter.
Just allow yourself to pick upthat imaginary brush and in the
(14:46):
center of this blank canvas infront of you, I want you to draw
what it is that your heart mostdesires to help you grow as a
better person in this world, atthe same time lovingly accepting
yourself as you are.
(15:09):
It can be anything that is goingto help you move forward.
And you softly pick up thisimaginary paint and whatever
color it wants to be for you,you draw either that thing or a
symbol or a word that symbolisesthat thing, and you just draw
(15:33):
it in your imagination and thenthe paint quickly dries and it
forms a shape of what that thingwas to you and as you take a
deep breath, you feel the imageof that come right into your
(15:56):
heart center as it integratesinto your being, as you lovingly
and kindly accept yourself asyou are, but also the start of
this manifestation board, thisvision board, and just slowly
start to take some calm, deepbreaths in and out through your
(16:20):
nostrils, gently and calmly.
So as you come back into theroom, you might want to make a
note of what that is.
We're going to do some morework towards this on next week's
episode, so by all means, justmake a note, you can, and put
(16:41):
that to one side, and if youdidn't have anything come up as
yet, don't worry.
What you can do is just repeatthe meditation until you find
what it is.
But we'll do some more work onit next week and thank you for
listening.
