SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hello everybody, I'm
your host, the gentle yoga
warrior, and we are in the heartof October as I record this, and
we're coming into the time ofScorpio.
And Scorpio really likes to digdeep into the ground and
discover things that others maykind of tread over without
(00:25):
discovering.
When balanced, Scorpio can bevery powerful and can be a
seeker of truth but alsofairness.
However, when out of balance,Scorpio can be quite sinister
and stingy and provocative, butnot necessary in a way that
(00:46):
serves one.
So how to get the balance duringthis Scorpio time is to go with
the flow.
I really feel it's to go withthe flow because it is a change
of seasons.
It could be coming into springwhere you are, but here it's
(01:06):
autumn, fall, as they say, inthe States.
And it's a time where the bodyis still got lots of things to
do because it's a busy, busytime of year.
The mind has got a lot of thingsto do because it's a busy, busy
time of the year.
But it's a time where we're kindof collecting the rest of the
(01:28):
fruit and vegetables that we'vegrown during the course of the
year, and we're kind ofharvesting but also starting to
prepare for the deep winter orthe bright summer, depending
where you are, which is comingin a few months.
And this Scorpio energy, whichit was just a new moon in
(01:53):
Scorpio, is all about kind ofdigging into things and finding
the truth.
But we can use this to ouradvantage because it is a
powerful time to do that.
Um, and the easiest and mostsimple solution for you, dear
listener, is to pick up yourjournal and write daily, maybe a
(02:20):
paragraph or two, about what isyour truth and what you wish to
discover.
Is there something you'restruggling with?
Is there some way you somethingyou want to do, somewhere you
want to go?
What is the truth that isblocking you from doing this?
And the most easy way to do thisis to journal and don't sit
(02:43):
there with your pen and think,oh, I don't know what I'm gonna
write, because I can do that.
That's why I'm sharing this.
I like, oh, instead, just take adeep breath, don't think about
what you're gonna write to startwith, and just let yourself free
write.
And I always find there's a lotof wisdom from that, and do the
free writing for maybe a week, and then you can go back to that
(03:04):
writing and look.
I get a highlighter, and then Ijust look at the the bits of
wisdom that's within that, andthen from that, maybe you can
discover how you can dig deepand find what you need to do in
this run up to the winter.
(03:25):
And it's a lot of time of yearwhere there's a lot of air
because we're in the Vataseason, which is in the
Ayurvedic system, which is madeup of air and also ether.
So it's a great time forexpansive creativity and for
you, dear listener, in your busybusy life, to find time to what
(03:48):
to do what you you need to doand to discover what you need to
do.
So it's it's what I'm trying tosay is the energy is here, very
supportive to be creativebecause there's a lot of ether
about, which is where I feelcreativity comes from, but
there's air.
But if we're kind of runningaround and not smelling the
(04:10):
grass or having time to walk outin nature, we can feel a bit as
if we have kind of lost our way.
Um we feel like we're blowingaway like a kite in the wind.
So the antidote to that is to dosomething really grounding.
I personally do yoga, you mightgo to the gym, you might go to a
walk, go for a jog, butsomething where you're really
(04:32):
connecting with the ground, andI also make sure I do walks
because then you can kind of getthe connection with the earth
because the antidote to too muchair is earth, so we need to
ground ourselves with wholesomefood and wholesome habits.
So, like reading, I've reallygot into the habit now before
going to bed.
I journal instead of watchingsomething.
(04:55):
I find it's much better for me,better for my eyes.
Especially, there's a couple ofdays a week where I spend a lot
of time on a computer, and Ijust found it was too much blue
light for me.
And I know phones can be veryenticing, they have so much
information at our fingertips,it's hard not to want to kind of
use them, right?
(05:16):
And of course, everything inmoderation, but to kind of
really get into this Scorpioenergy in this time, and to kind
of really dig deep into thistime, I strongly strongly
suggest that you limit yourscreen time and just have time
for quiet contemplation viajournaling, meditation.
(05:38):
The other day I was just sotired I didn't actually have the
energy to journal, and so I justlay on my bed and I just
listened to my breath, and Ijust took some calming, deep
inhalation and exhalationsbecause I had a particularly
stressful day, and that was myantidote to kind of steer me out
of this particularly stressfulday.
(05:58):
For you, it might be somethingelse, and of course, if you I
know so many people say, but Ilike to watch things after work
to relax.
I agree, I do that sometimes aswell.
I completely understand, butit's like everything in
moderation, so maybe watchsomething, and then for the last
half an hour before you go tobed, could you listen to an
(06:18):
audiobook instead if you ifyou're too tired to read, or
listen to some music, but kindof calming music because I've
I've done that before when I'vekind of listened to my my
favorite flashback music fromthe 90s, and then it's kind of
made me feel more awake.
So calming music before bedjournal, do something creative.
(06:39):
Maybe if you want to draw, ifyou're artistic in any way, just
anything really that's going tofeel really grounding and calm,
but you can really get use thisenergy to get into the depth of
who you are and what you want tobe, and and also what blocks you
have by doing the journaling.
So I can't express morejournaling, journaling,
(07:01):
journaling.
And if you if you're not one forwriting a pen and paper, there
are apps that you can do on thephone.
I just think it's nice thecontact of holding the pen and
paper, and there's no green, sorry, there's no blue light
when you do that.
So that is an option, and to getyou in the mood for this
autumnal or spring Scorpio time,we are going to do a meditation.
(07:26):
Top tips for the meditation iseither sit nice and cross-legged
on the floor with a nicestraight back, always nice to
sit on a block or a cushion, orthat's not available for you.
You sit in a chair with the backnice and straight.
The important thing is you'renot slouching.
And if you're doing somethingthat requires concentration, all
you need to do is just pausethis and you can reconvene the
(07:49):
meditation at a time that isgood for you.
If you're doing the meditation, that's vegan, and it's night
time, so you've got your eyesclosed and you think you're
outside, it's night time.
And you're on the edge of alake, and that lake has a
(08:13):
beautiful calmness to it, butit's a new moon, so the light is
very limited, complete oppositeto a full moon.
And perhaps you may not be ableto see the beautiful trees that
surround this lake, or even thestag deer that is in the
(08:35):
distance.
You can hear an owl as it fliesover your head, but your
eyesight is limited.
But, dear listener, in thedepths of this darkness is a
gift the gift of just being, andthrough that being you can dig
(08:59):
deep, like the Scorpio sign, anduncover your truth.
So I invite you simply tobreathe in and out through the
nostrils, allowing thisbeautiful flow, this flow of the
(09:20):
breath, and the owl, you canhear it again.
Perhaps you can hear the fishesin the water.
But other than that, it's quitea calm and barren place, and in
(09:41):
your imagination, your biggestheart desire starts to form like
a light in front of your heart.
Maybe it's to have more peace inyour life, more love, more
connection.
The simplicity is the beauty ofit all in so many ways, and you
(10:03):
feel this light starting toshine in front of your heart,
and in your imagination, youfeel it rise above you, and it
shines light into the sky.
And from this light, just for amoment, if you just allow
yourself to be the Scorpioenergy shows you what the best
(10:29):
course of action is to take inyour life.
And if it doesn't happen thefirst time in this meditation,
just listen to it again andagain.
There's no right or wrong, andyou just remember what that
course of action is as youcalmly and slowly take some
(10:51):
calming deep breaths in and outthrough the nostrils as you come
back into the moment, come backinto the room.
And dear listeners, you may wantto write down what you saw, and
again, you can come back to thisagain and again, and you can
just develop on that in yourjournal.
So, thank you for listening.
