Have you ever felt like you're living two lives—one to please your familia and another that's truly yours? That internal tug-of-war was my reality until I discovered two powerful tools that revolutionized my self-understanding: astrology and human design.

As a first-generation Mexicana and intuitive healer, I've spent years navigating cultural expectations while trying to honor my authentic self. The journey wasn't easy until these cosmic frameworks gave me permission to embrace all parts of who I am. Your birth chart isn't just some mystical concept—it's a profound mirror reflecting your essence through your Sun (your core identity), Moon (emotional landscape), and Rising sign (how others perceive you). When I discovered my Sagittarius Sun explained my love for adventure, my Cancer Moon illuminated my deep emotional sensitivity, and my Leo Rising revealed why people saw confidence even when I trembled inside, everything clicked.

Human Design took this understanding even deeper by mapping my energetic blueprint as a Generator. Suddenly, my pattern of burnout made sense—I was forcing initiatives rather than responding to what genuinely lit me up. Learning about the five energy types (Manifestors, Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, and Reflectors) didn't box me in; it liberated me from expectations that never fit.

These tools aren't just fascinating—they're practical medicine for generational healing. When you understand your cosmic design, you release the guilt of being "too much" or "not enough." You recognize that your need for solitude isn't laziness but essential restoration. You build relationships that honor rather than deplete you. Most importantly, you give yourself permission to live authentically rather than performing to meet cultural or family expectations.

Whether you're curious about why certain relationships feel effortless while others drain you, or why traditional success paths leave you unfulfilled, your cosmic blueprint holds answers. Join me in exploring how astrology and human design can transform your relationship with yourself and create a life aligned with your true essence. Ready to discover your cosmic roadmap? Reach out—I'd love to guide you on this journey.

just survival.

to ancestral wisdom, humandesign to hard boundaries.

moments, all with corazón yhonestidad.
So grab your cafecito tecito orthat bubbly drink you love and

(01:55):
let's get into today's episode, porque tu historia, tu voz y tu
healing matter.
Let's start with astrology.
When people ask me, ¿qué esastrología?
I always say it's not aboutpredicting the future.
It's a mirror reflecting whoyou are at your core.
Your birth chart is a snapshotof the sky when you arrived into

(02:17):
this world.
The big three are your sun, moon and rising signs.
Let's dive into el sol, the sun.
Your sun is like tu brillo, your life force, your essence.
For me, as a Sagittarius sun, Ilove adventure, truth-telling
and always seeking meaning andgoodness.

(02:39):
Do I love adventure For me?
When I graduated high school, Iwanted to go on to college and
fighting with like financial aidand that to get a full ride
scholarship to DePaul Universityin downtown Chicago.
That was great, but I needed tofigure out how I was going to
commute from Roselle, which ismy hometown, to Chicago, and I

(03:02):
would take the train in theMetro and that would be about an
hour and then I would need tonavigate the city another hour
to get to Lincoln park.
So it would take me two hoursto get there every single day.
And let me tell you, for thefirst two years of college I had
no clue where the Lake was LakeMichigan.
Over this course of time, later, when I learned about astrology

(03:24):
, did I figure out.
Wow, I really like this senseof not knowing and kind of
venturing off and trying tofigure it out and of course I
would ask questions in thatdirection, especially if I
didn't know what to do, liketake the brown line to the red
line, to this line.
I'm surprised I didn't end uplike somewhere else in the city
instead of being in theclassroom.

(03:46):
Now let's move on to la luna, your moon.
Your moon is tu mundo emocional, how you feel safe and nurtured
.
I'm a cancer moon, so I feeleverything deeply, soy super
maternal and my home is mysanctuary.
I've always had this maternalinstinct, let's say energy.

(04:06):
When people come over, I tendto nurture and I'm just like a
naturally loving person.
So when people come to my house, they feel safe, they feel
homey I often get that fromvisitors they feel at peace and
I'm super apasionada, like thenovelas, right, like I cry in
Spanish, and I do all thesethings so deeply, like I feel it

(04:30):
like to my core, and my husbandalways jokes that anytime I set
my mind to something I'm goingto get it done.
Because I'm one stubborn and two, I'm just so entregada in what
I do and as I'm passionate, I'malso able to pick up quickly on
other people's energy.
Of course, if the person iswilling and open to receive, I'm

(04:52):
able to kind of sense ifthere's something else going on
in their life.
And this is where I get myintuitive hits or my abilities
to kind of tap into their spiritor master teacher's loved ones,
and I'm able to kind of saysomething that they or master
teacher's loved ones, and I'mable to kind of say something
that they need.
At that point in time I thoughtit was just like the mother
touch kind of thing, but no,it's, this is beyond that.

(05:15):
It's like knowing when your kidis kind of going through
something.
It's kind of like that withadults or other people.
And that's where it kind ofthrew me off too, because I
thought, oh, everybody has thisability.
But I guess not, and so I oftenuse this in my work and my
coaching, and especially whenI'm tapping in for Olympias, to
extract any negative energiesthat are being carried by the

(05:38):
person or talk through anythingthat they are seeing as a
challenge.
The last one we'll talk about isthe rising sign.
So your rising sign is yoursocial mask.
Cómo te ven los demás, my Leo.
Rising means people see me asconfident, bold, sometimes
dramatic, even when por dentroI'm nervous as heck.

(05:59):
This reminds me of a time whenI was in high school and I
remember it was my senior yearand there was a speaker that
came in to do an assemblyregarding bullying and in my
high school we had it splitwhere it was freshmen and
sophomore in one and thenjuniors and seniors in another.

(06:20):
So juniors and seniors compriselike over a thousand kids in
this assembly, plus the teachersand all the other kind of admin
people.
And as the person was, as thespeaker was talking about
bullying, I got a strong impulseand I remember I was sitting at
the top of the bleachers, allthe way at the top, and we were
in the gym and I got thisimpulse to share how I was

(06:44):
bullied, siloed, for beingpregnant, and this was in front
of all those students and Iremember my legs were trembling
as I was walking down because hehad mentioned if anybody wanted
to come down and speak, and Ifelt it's so liberating.
Afterwards I did cry.

(07:05):
I remember my throat going intoa knot.
A lot of people didn't evenknow my story but for some
reason I always felt likeeverybody saw me, everybody knew
who I was like, pointed afinger and started laughing at
me, would gossip about me, but Iwas able to put it out there
that kids are cruel and thosethings mark you and they can
traumatize you for a wholelifetime and that, for me, gave

(07:28):
me, I guess, my power back inthat specific moment.
The other thing, too, iscreating this podcast.
I've been at it for eight yearsand I'm finally able to put it
out there, and it's beenterrifying.
I think last year I put out atrailer thinking, oh yeah, I'm
going to kick it out there, andit's been terrifying.
I think last year I put out atrailer thinking, oh yeah, I'm
going to kick it off, but I'vebeen delaying it because I've
been so scared to put myself outthere and all this stuff

(07:50):
becoming woo woo, like it's tooout there for the people that
know me as a professionalaccountant, so I'm right there
with you in this learningjourney of how to embrace all
parts of ourselves.
So if you don't know your bigthree, write it down as
something to look up and I'llshare links down below at the
show notes.
I have a freebie for you thatwe'll talk about with astrology

(08:14):
and our human design.
And remember, it's not aboutputting yourself in a box, it's
about understanding your layers.
Ahora, let's talk about humandesign, about understanding your
layers.
Ahora, let's talk about humandesign.
Imagine if you were born con unmanual that explains how your
energy works.
That's human design.
It combines astrology, the IChing, kabbalah, chakras and

(08:36):
even quantum physics.
It can sound overwhelming, pero, te juro, it's fascinating.
There are five types in humandesign.
Let's go through them.
Manifestors are initiators.
You're here to start movements, spark new ideas, pero necesitas
your freedom.
I worked with a coach and shewas a manifester and that's

(08:56):
where she just loved to create, put stuff out there in the world
, and I just was amazed at howmuch creativity she had.
It served her well because itwas getting different business
ideas like on the fly, andthat's where I knew deep down in
her soul she loved to createthings for others and for
herself.
Now, generators like me are thebuilders.

(09:20):
We have sustainable energy whenwe're doing what we are
passionate about.
But when we're doing lo que nosapasiona, what we are
passionate about, pero cuandoestamos en the wrong job or
relationship, we feel frustrated.
Af Generators are also themajority of all these different
types.
So I remember a time when I wasforcing things and I burned out,
and that was when I was gettingmy CPA.

(09:42):
I thought I needed to followthe path into my accounting
career with my degree and so atwork I thought, in order to rise
up to the next level, to be onthat national team, I needed to
go get my CPA.
And I went back to school, gotthe MBA.
So the master's in businessadministration and I did it

(10:03):
didn't pan out.
I went usually for the CPA.
You have to study.
It's four parts.
You have to study about 150hours each section, four
sections, and I rememberstudying like 30 hours maybe for
the whole thing and I got a 57.
You have to have a 75 to passand I tried twice and it's been
what?
13 years in the making, yeah, Idon't think it's going to

(10:25):
happen.
Spirit, god divine, called meinto a very different path.
So that's when I startedburning out.
That's when I know things arenot for me.
When they're not easy, whenit's super frustrating for me,
that's when I have to learn tostop and let it go and then
maybe come back and revisit itlater in my life.

(10:46):
Now, manifesting generators aremulti-talented, fast-paced.
You can pivot quickly, sometimes confusing others.
My dear friend, she's one thathas so many projects on the
burner and she loves to whip upnew things, new concepts, and so
it's hard for her to keep up.
Like I can't keep up with her.

(11:08):
There's just so much stuff.
Every time I contact her she'sworking on something different
and it's like what happened tothe other project oh yeah, it's
just there, but I want to dothis and this and this, and so
it's kind of like a fast-pacedlife for her, so kind of like a
fast paced life for her.
So that's when we kind of geekout on how do we kind of slow
down again?
But yeah, then she goes back atit.
So it's great to have thatperspective of hers, like being

(11:30):
the duality of the manifestingand the generator.
That's quite a lot of energy togo through.
Now, this one I this next one isone that I see firsthand with
my kiddos, because they're bothprojectors.
So projectors are guides.
You're not here to work youreight hours straight.
You thrive on recognition.
So since my kiddos areprojectors, I can see the big,

(11:52):
they can see the big picture.
They are the ones, I think, intheir friend group that
gravitate to lead, naturally, like the parent in the group.
Now our last type is reflectors.
Reflectors are super rare, onlyone percent of the population.
They're your mirrors of yourenvironment.

(12:13):
Often reflectors are the onesto mirror what's going on and
make sense of it.
They can also find throughlines in the common themes,
especially when we'reencountering, like various times
, reflectors pick up on theenergy of the collective.
So knowing your type gives youpermission to be you.

(12:33):
No más burnout, no más forcingwhat's not for you.
So why does all this matter?
Because knowing your blueprintcan heal generations of shame,
confusion and people-pleasing.
Astrology and human design helpyou understand your gifts,
release guilt for beingdifferent, build relationships
that honor your truth.

(12:54):
For me, discovering I was agenerator explained why I'd work
myself to exhaustion.
My Cancer Moon explained why Ineeded quiet time.
After helping clients andneeding that quiet time, that's
when I started setting in thesetools to help me set my
boundaries and choosedifferently.
For example, at the end of theyear, our company my 9 to 5,

(13:16):
closes for about a week betweenChristmas and New Year's.
I take time to reflect andrelax.
I don't try to cram anythingelse in there during this time,
because I know the holidays andour birthday season between
October and first week ofJanuary is overwhelming enough
and I need that time to myself.
I remember my mom would make anote of that when I lived with

(13:40):
her, and I get it.
It comes across as being lazyfloja.
I don't want to do anything andI don't, but that's perfectly
okay.
Is not doing anything?
Is doing something for yourself.
It's restoring.
So don't feel guilty for takingtime for yourself.
That is an essential part ofyou being you and if you're good

(14:01):
with your body, mind and spirit, you're going to be able to
help out or cater to otherpeople's needs.
And I did learn that lesson thehard way and now I value that
so much more.
Now knowing that about myselfand thinking I had to give an
explanation to others as to whyI'm relaxing that's when I
started knowing or having that, knowing that I don't need to

(14:24):
give explanations, because I'mbeing me and I feel depleted.
I need rest, I need to be withmyself, I need that solitude
time and going out for a walk, being by myself.
That is super restorative forme and I would often undervalue
it because I always thought Ihad to be busy, like I always
had to get stuffed on off mytask list.

(14:47):
But carving out time for me tosit with myself or resting,
having a day of rest timebecause I, for one, I love to
hit the gym like every day if Icould, but I know the body,
that's not sustainable.
We need to, I need to take careof my body.
I.
But I know the body.
That's not sustainable.
We need to, I need to take careof my body.
It's the biggest asset I have,and so those days that I don't

(15:08):
do anything, I feel like I'mdoing so much for myself.
No-transcript.
Okay, let's talk practical waysto use this information in tu

(15:30):
vida diaria.
Astrology.
Check the moon before bigconversations.
Journal about your sun and yourmoon conflicts.
Notice Mercury retrogradepatterns.
So, for example, we have onecoming up If you're listening to
this in July, at the beginningof July, when this drops, from
July 17th to August 11th,retrograde will be in Leo,

(15:51):
potentially affectingcommunication technology, travel
and scheduling.
It's a good time for reflection, revision and revisiting past
projects or relationships, andtry to avoid launching any major
new ventures During thisMercury retrograde season.
That's when you'll startnoticing the tech relationships

(16:13):
or business being affected.
This is a time where I ask allthe people I'm working with to
double check your emails, because sometimes emails don't
send, text messages also don'tget sent or there's a
miscommunication.
I often have this with thehubby and I are not on the same
page.
It makes me think of a timewhen I forgot to go to a

(16:33):
parent-teacher conferencebecause I put it on the wrong
date in the calendar and it wasactually the day before.
So one, I showed up super latea whole day.
And then two, it's like I feltreally dumb because I scheduled
it and I was the one puttingforth all the effort to get
there and I think that day I waseven late to the meeting, but I
didn't realize it was a wholeday late.

(16:54):
So that was kind of a funnystory, showing up with the kids
like, and for them to see yeah, mom screws up too.
And my favorite saying is it'sproving that I'm human Now going
into human design in humandesign, using it to follow your
strategy, honor your energy andrest if your chart calls for it.

(17:14):
One thing that I rely with myhuman design, that I've learned,
that I've incorporated into mydaily routines, that changed my
life since learning that I'm agenerator, is when I need to
make a decision.
I follow my gut.
Either it's a heck yes or ahell no.
And of course, I love combiningastrology and human design with

(17:34):
my limpias Doing a limpia onthe new moon to release old
energy, or choosing a limpiaherbs based on the moon sign.
I really enjoy the new moon andthe full moon to really lease
and reflect, depending on whatsign it falls under.
I also pull oracle cards forclarity, cleansing my body, but
also journaling and burning itwhen I'm letting go.

(17:56):
It's such a ceremony and aritual that I do Just
surrendering that to divine Godspirit on what is more
convenient for me.
I don't even know sometimes.
What is more, you know what'scoming up ahead, and that's
where learning to trust is oneof the biggest things, and
learning lessons that I've hadas well is to go with the flow.

(18:17):
I often thought, oh, you have tohustle, you have to grind, you
have to do all these things andit's like no life shouldn't be
this hard.
Instead of living with dis-ease, I'd rather live with ease,
meaning things flow, thingshappen, synchronicities,
miracles, and knowing thateverything's happening for you
and not against you and if yougo through a little detour, it's

(18:39):
just giving you extra wisdom, and that's kind of like the
bonus right in life is to makeit a little spicy, a little
interesting.
Now, going back to my firstastrology reading, that's where
I had a lot that I learned aboutmyself.
I remember there was a lot ofhealing in that session and I

(19:02):
cried a lot because one of mywounds is self-abandonment and I
have trouble with my secondhouse, which we'll get into
houses and everything later onin this podcast.
But my second house is allabout the money, the self-worth,
the resources, and that's whereI feel a lot of lack and
scarcity.
And I did grow up in thathousehold right that we always

(19:25):
have to hustle for the money andwork super hard.
And learning those wounds, learning those different things
about myself based on my birthchart, has given me that
information on.
Okay, it's not it's me, butit's something that I can work
on and I have awareness nowwhere I know that I'm super
sensitive, where I have thesecertain things in my chart that

(19:47):
I can use to gauge on my journeymoving forward, and that let it
dictate my whole life that Ican turn the ship around right,
that I do have this ability togain control back and look at it
from a different perspective, especially with my human design,
like once I started to see mychart that I had all these gates
open, like enclosed and colored, and you know vice, you know

(20:12):
vice versa.
It really helped me understandthe relationship to myself but
also the relationship to others, how my throat is often blocked
and with the transits, so astime goes on it does change, but
you always have that main birthchart or your human design that
you can always haul back on andwork through.

(20:34):
Once you understand themretrograde, or if there's some
sort of planetary thingshappening, mostly on the
negative side, that's when Ireally try to go inward and take

(20:55):
that time, have that sacredspace for myself to really get
grounded, see what's coming up,what do I need to let go, what
do I need to release and journalabout it, do what I need to do
for myself in that given moment, and I think that's where I
honor myself.
And if I could go back and givelike advice to my younger self,
I would say you know, these arethe tools you could use and

(21:19):
honor what's coming up for you, because it is legit.
Like, if I feel sad, why am Ifeeling sad?
And I go through the motions ofasking those questions of what
are we?
You know what is that?
Memory being brought up?
My body's obviously rememberingsomething that happened and so
giving myself that space, holding myself in that love and

(21:39):
compassion, in that bubble, inthat light that this is part of
this journey, as painful as itis sometimes, there's also
beautiful things that happen, and so all of it is a blessing
in disguise.
And, of course, ending orhaving this gratitude practice
as well of I'm so grateful foranother day.

(22:01):
I'm grateful for my life as itis, even though there was some
shitty moments in my life.
If it wasn't for those shittymoments, I would not be the
woman I am today.
If I didn't encounter thosepeople that be positive or
negative, then I wouldn't havebeen shaped to think the way I
think, to go through life andexperimenting everything and

(22:24):
that's what I love about thishuman experience is every day.
It's an adventure for me,especially knowing that I'm a
generator and in my human design, I love all these different
things, but then also, astrologically, knowing that I
love that adventure, knowingthat I love to nurture others.
That's when I know that I amthe way I am, because I have

(22:47):
these tools to fall back on tounderstand that a little bit
better.
Now let's reflect juntos.
What's your sun, moon, risingsigns?
Do you know your human designtype?
What's something you've learnedabout yourself today?

or you can send me an email atdora, at dorapraxedescom.
So let's explore your cosmicblueprint and create a life

(23:29):
aligned con tu esencia.
Now I'm going to pull a cardfrom the Work, your Light Oracle
Cards from Rebecca Campbell andthis was actually my first deck
that I ever got and it's sobeautiful and I pull the card.
You're already doing it.
Stop overthinking.
Keep facing your true north.

(23:50):
Do not question things so much.
You're on the right path.
You're on the right track.
You are facing the right way.
Stop overthinking.
It's happening and you arecloser than you think.
You are exactly where you needto be and things are moving at
the perfect speed.
Do not rush it.
Now is not the time to beimpatient.

(24:12):
Now is the time to walk steady.
There is no rush.
What you are building is beingbuilt.
What you have planted soon willblossom.
With every new day, a new brickis being laid.
You have come a long way.
The foundations are steady.
Now all that is needed is foryou to trust and keep walking
forward.

(24:33):
If a thought that things shouldbe moving faster enters your
head, that is just your ego, comparing you rising to someone
else.
Comparison is not your friend.
Stay in your lane, water yourown garden.
Know that your time to bloomwill come soon.
Work your light.
You are already doing it.
Keep going and I ironically gotthis card last week when I was

(24:57):
doing pulling it for myself andit's just a great reminder that
you're already doing what you'resupposed to be doing and just
keep going right.
Keep down that path and ifchallenges present themselves,
know that it's shaping you, thatit's course correcting
something and it's bringingsomething to your awareness for
you to work on Trust that you'redivinely being led, that spirit

(25:20):
is working miracles on yourbehalf.
Universe working miracles onyour behalf.
Universe, god, source, whateverit is that resonates with you,
make sure that you honor what'slighting you up.
If, for some reason, you'refeeling stuck in this moment,

(25:41):
this stuckness, stickiness, thismoment is serving you in some
shape, way or form.
This is, this moment, isserving you in some shape, way
or form.
That's where we'll dig in morein this podcast.
About going back to your littlechild, in my example, my little
dora.
I do go back and visit heroften, and when I started doing
that work, that's when I startedseeing big shifts in my life.

(26:02):
So that will leave for anotherday.
All right, that was the readingfor this time around.
What a beautiful card.
And, of course, keep followingthat North Star of yours and,
most importantly, trustingyourself.
Gracias por being here forgoing on this cosmic journey

(26:26):
conmigo next week.
We're diving into boundaries.
How to say no?
That's a solid sentence, I know, sin guilt y sin losing
yourself.
Until then, embrace your raices, reclaim your esencia.
Nos vemos pronto.
