Mercury retrograde.
Between November 9th and 29th,Mercury will be moving
backwards.
Well, not literally, but youknow, energetically, across two

This transit asks us to slowdown, reassess, and reconnect.
Not just with our thoughts, butwith our truth.
And you know, Mika, this one'spersonal, because Sagittarius
brings that fiery urge to moveforward, to speak your truth, to
explore.

While Scorpio whispers, no no,go deeper.
There's something you've beenavoiding.
So today we're going to explorewhat Mercury Retrograde is
really trying to teach you, thedo's and don'ts during the
season, how to spirituallyprepare and thrive instead of
freak out, and how this energyinvites you to reclaim your

Let's start with the basics.
Mercury is the planet that rulescommunication, technology,
travel, and thought.
It's how we perceive and expressour reality.
When it goes retrograde, thingsthat normally run smooth, like
emails, relationships, plans,they start to get glitchy.
But that's not punishment, it'sa pause, a cosmic audit.

Mercury retrograde is like whenSpirit says, Hold up before you
keep running, check yourdirection.
It's not about chaos, it's aboutclarity.
So let's reflect.
Where have I been rushinginstead of listening?
What truth am I avoiding?
Because it challenges mycomfort.

Now, because it begins inSagittarius, the sign of
expansion, travel, and bigideas, you might feel the urge
to jump into new opportunities,say yes to everything, or
overcommit.
But as Mercury moves back intoScorpio, the lesson shifts from
exploration to excavation.

Scorpio says, You can't moveforward if you're still carrying
emotional baggage.
So this retrograde is a bridgebetween you believe Sagittarius
and what you feel but haven'thealed, Scorpio.

And so, of course, this monstersometimes is not as scary as we
think.
It's in our head.
And that's where we use this asan opportunity.
So you might find yourselfrevisiting old relationships,
family wounds, contracts orcommitments that no longer fit
your growth.
And this is a time where itwouldn't be surprising, like old
relationships such asboyfriends, girlfriends,

ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriends,and stuff like that kind of
surface.
But take that as an opportunityto see, hey, this is how far
I've grown.
Like last time Mercuryretrograded was back in um like
over the summer.
And that's where just remembereven a year ago how far you've
come.
And so spiritually, this is acall to cleanse, to purge the

mental clutter.
So a ritual suggestion I havefor you is write down what
you've been overthinking.
Fold it, burn it with intention.
And you can even say, I releaseconfusion, I choose clarity.
And so reflect on this.
What am I ready to forgivemyself or others so I can move

forward lighter?
During Mercury retrograde,there's a simple mantra.
Revisit, reflect, reassess.
So number one, the revisit.
Revisit the old projects,forgotten dreams, messages left

and as read, and just go throughlike that memory lane and try to
figure out what is it that Iwould do, maybe tweak it a
little differently.
Maybe something you thought wasdone just needs a new approach.
Maybe that project you kind ofleft unbanded for a bit, like
you come back to it and refreshit a little bit.
And so a lot of reads this timearound for Mercury Retrograde.

Number two, reflect.
This is not a time to pushthrough, okay?
And I know this well in myhealing journey.
It's more of it's time to pauseand review where you're spending
your energy, like you're like alike an audit for your energy,
like what is leaky.
And I've been talking to severalof you recently, and thank you

so much for the thoughts andprayers and reaching out, but
you're reflecting on what are mypriorities, what is what is
important to me, right?
And this is no joke, a sacred,like a big shake, like a snow
globe effect right now for a lotof people around me, because you
never know what's gonna happennext, right?
We don't know what the futureholds, but you do know and

realize how do you go about it,how do you approach the
situation, how do you handlethat stress, the unknown, the
curveballs, the life obstacles.
And so pausing and reflecting onwhat do I want to do right now?
What causes me joy?
And if I'm in a shitty spot,like you know, I do have my
(06:43):
moments where I cryunconsolably, and I'm like
thinking, especially at thebeginning where I found out my
cancer diagnosis, it was like,oh my god, what if I die?
Like, what is it gonna be of mykids?
What is it gonna be of my, youknow, my family, my spouse, feel
me?
Like, yeah, it was a lot to takein.
But I know that everythinghappens with divine timing and

for a good purpose.
And that's where you can askyourself, as you're going
through the motions, does thisstill align with my values?
Because over time we do change.
I change a lot, quite a bit,especially with this situation.
And I reflect now more of like II want to live in that peace and
joy and do the things that Ilike love to do, such as
(07:30):
recording this podcast.
And it fills me up.
It fills me up to hear frompeople, my community, um, plug
in, get get answers to some ofmy questions, um, research.
I do go through my rabbit holesas well.
But there are times where it'slike, okay, I just want to take
a nap, especially now.
Um, or I want something to eat.
(07:51):
Of course, I'm not gonna eatlike and indulge completely, but
once in a while it doesn't hurt.
And so, what are the things thatare important to you right now?
And there's one particularsituation that I encountered
this past week where your energyis being drained might not even
be yours.
It might be someone else's.
And so discerning what is yoursand what is not yours.
(08:12):
So that leaves us to numberthree, or leads us into number
three of reassess.
Sometimes Mercury retrogradereveals what's unsustainable.
You'll see where you're you'vebeen overcommitted or where your
truth doesn't match youractions.
Like before I would say prettymuch yes to everything, like
because I didn't want to letanybody down, but now it's like

a hell no.
Like my body even says, mm-mm,we are not going over there.
Um, and there is no right orwrong.
And that's the difficult partbecause it's not like math, and
I love my accounting job,because everything needs to
reconcile eventually, right?
Like, I mean, a penny here andthere, I mean, not such a big
deal.
But when it comes to life, thereis no reconciliation sometimes.
(08:55):
It's like you have to really sitdown and analyze what are my
thoughts, what are my emotions,what is this triggering, and
just go through like that deephole of figuring out that
shadowing side of you.
And once you go through thoseemotions, once you reassess,
once you figure out like what ismore aligned to you, that's
(09:17):
where you're gonna start tocross that bridge and get to the
other side.
Because the other side is somuch brighter, it's so much
warmer.
Um, it's like warm and fuzzy, Iwant to say.
Uh, but it just provides so muchtruth, right?
And getting that clarity withjust sitting down and going
through the big pile of dump ofemotions and everything and the
works, going through it.
(09:39):
It's gonna help you a lot.
So, my pro tip is to during thistime, Mercury retrograde, is to
back up your files, double checkyour travel plans, and don't
sign long-term contracts if youcan help.
But emotionally, this is abeautiful time to reconnect with
your inner compass.
So, a semantic practice that Ilike to do is I like I love to

place a hand over my chest andsay out loud, I trust my inner
knowing, even when life feelsunclear.
And you can breathe into thattruth and feel it and embody it
into you just with every breathand just go through the motions.
I trust my inner knowing evenwhen life feels unclear.

I want to share somethingpersonal.
So every Mercury retrograde,something comes up that forces
me to slow down.
And by no means is this timearound not an exception.
Like, right now, as the firstday of retrograde kicks in,
today is November 9th.
I am sitting in my closetrecording this podcast.
Um my I've had a bilateralmassectomy, which is two of my

boobies are out.
I feel lum from my chest, andI'm just so chill.
And pouring in such so much ofmy heart into everything I love
to do.
And this is where I moment Irealize the moments that it
really do matter.
That I am rich in friends,family, love, peace, joy, those
(11:17):
good emotions.
But I also have to face my fatmy shadow side of fear.
Fear of the unknown, fear of thefuture, fear of like, is this
next step, next surgerytomorrow, is it gonna kick me
off my feet?
And that's where walking infaith definitely has been
testing me and reflecting onthat right now.
(11:38):
But I feel I I honestly havenever felt better in my whole
entire life.
My husband, there has beenstrides of changes.
Actually, this past week heshared he is gonna seek
professional help, which we'vebeen talking about for the past
few years, and that for me isgreat, but I think for him it's
(11:58):
even greater because you'reopening the door, you're opening
the portal to healing yourself.
And so the past year, for thoseof you that don't know, in
January, I actually started myweight loss journey and I lost
50 pounds.
And with the doctor, I was ableto weed out all these different
things that were happening withmy body.
(12:21):
And I did realize, or werealized that I was insulin
resistant, and so my body, it'slike I have to cope with it,
right?
I have to love it as it is,learn to love it, and work with
it and co-create.
Like, what are our next steps?
When it comes to food, I've beenworking with a nutritionist
since October of last year, andthat taught me how to eat my
(12:43):
food.
Like I I would not eat anythinguntil 2 p.m.
in the afternoon, and that wassuper bad.
I thought I was doing ketobefore keto even existed because
I started doing that ever sinceI was in college when I went to
DePaul.
I would buy myself like a bagelor a coffee in the morning, and
that thing would last me allday.
Like I would be sipping throughit.
I know it's probably disgusting,but it got me through.
(13:04):
It got me through.
Um that and I would just putanything that was cheap in my
body.
There was times where I didn'thave enough money, and honestly,
I couldn't even affordMcDonald's.
Like that's how broke I was umgoing to school.
And so now, nowadays, especiallya year ago, I started making
these decisions.
I started meeting with mytherapist, and she's been
(13:25):
amazing, and helping me navigateand set these like processes in
place.
And this past week I've actuallybeen really diving into this
like open AI, Chat GPT, theworks, and how I can delegate
some of the things that I do ona daily, which is kind of
exciting.
But then again, it does cause mea little fear because it's like
(13:47):
I have efficiency now, maybe forfor certain things, but then
there's some things that youcan't control, right?
Like going through certainemotions, like right now
recovering from surgery.
But I feel like everything ismindset, everything is in your
mind and your attitude goingabout it.
And so when shit hits the fan,like it does sometimes for
Mercury retrograde, don't thinkof it as like, oh my gosh, it's
(14:11):
doomsday.
It's an opportunity to think ofthings differently.
And so sometimes it's technologyfailing me, sometimes it's my
body whispering, I need to rest,which is the case now.
And lately I've been learningthat miscommunication isn't just
failure, it's an invitation torealign.
So I invite you to ask, did Ireally express my truth?
(14:33):
Or did I just react from fear?
Right?
It's like there's a hugedifference.
And sit with that, really assessthat.
So this retrograde might revealconversations that need closure,
apologies that need to bespoken, or truths that need to
be owned.
Be gentle with yourself.
(14:53):
Like I am gentle with myselfright now in surgery,
recovering.
Um, a big thing is I can't liftmy arms.
And one of my friends told meit's like T-Rex, Tyrannosaurus
Rex, right?
Dinosaur, you can't really moveyour arms.
That's how I feel right now.
It's like a big ass head, but Ican't really move my arms.
So it's kind of funny, butasking for help is a big thing
(15:13):
for me too, right now, isreceiving the love and support,
but also asking, how can I besupported?
How can I be helped?
So everyone's reflecting rightnow, including your mom, your
partner, your co-workers, toprima, tu comadre, everybody
right now is going through it.
But stay stick to your lane,stick to what you know, stick to
(15:34):
your life, and reflect.
What do I need to say or stopsaying to honor my peace?
Sometimes silence is yourboundary, sometimes it's your
prayer.
And honor all those things thatare coming up for you.
(15:55):
As Mercury finishes itsretrograde in Scorpio around
November 29th, you'll noticeemotional clarity rising.
It's like you've walked throughthe fire, so Sagittarius, and
now you sit in the ashes,Scorpio.
Reborn.
Scorpio teaches emotional truth,depth, and transformation.
So ask yourself, what masks am Iready to remove?

What emotional cycles am I donerepeating?
How can I honor my truth withoutneeding to explain it?
So a mini ritual that I'llintroduce here is you could take
a salt bath with herbs likerosemary or ruda, roux, and
andor you could just take anormal shower and imagine the
water washing away outdatedstories, and they go down the

drain when you're going throughthis ritual.
And you can whisper to yourself,I am safe to begin again, and
give yourself that permission tostep forward with all those
things washing away from you andwelcoming in the new.

a meditation, and I invite youto close your eyes.
If you feel safe, of course, getcomfy, and place a hand over
your heart.
Inhale deeply and feel thewarmth of Sagittarius, the fire
(17:49):
of your truth.
And exhale, feel the depth ofScorpio, the healing of your
soul.
Let's do that two more times.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale, and you can hold it upat the top a little longer and

exhale and repeat after me.
I trust divine timing.
I release control.

I flow with faith.

through chaos, but throughclarity.
