it's somebody from the eighties who is no longer with us. However,

back for me, brother, all right?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
So I take it that was Randy macho man savage.
Sounds like he was in the toilet up there. You
heard the question from the macho man. The question is
who or what was the name of his lovely assistant,
his sidekick, the young female attractive beauty that was always
by his side? Who is actually joining him to his

(02:46):
side right now?

Speaker 4 (02:47):

If you can't wear a spandex jumpsuit, what can you do?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Kind All this is to the eighties. You are listening
to the one and only Back to the Eighties Radio.
I am Toscano from the infamous duo Toscano and Chang.
And next to me my right, to your left or
right either way is a man who has been seen
several times in the nineteen eighties barging into movie theaters

(04:44):
and streaking right in front of the screen. He's also
been seen from time to time secretly going into the
Cure concerts and dressing up as Robert Smith. Here on
Back to the Eighties, we call him the ever so
wondrous Chang who sports the Cure T shirts.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
How do doody to all you boys and girls, all
you macho men and eighties ladies. It is I the
Wondrous Changle legend in my own mind, and I want
to thank my partner in rhyme, my partner in crime,
the only Italian Mexican that I would ever trust. How's
everybody doing out there. We have a great show coming up.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
It's going to be great, It's going to be huge.
Thank you very much, Chang. Let's just go right into it, Okay,
I know people have no idea. We want to let
you know what's going on, first of all, and by
doing that, you're gonna know what's coming from the following
week and from then on. First of all, on a

(05:47):
serious note, we've all had to kind of gather our
minds and put our minds together and see what we're
gonna do, because we do not want to quit the
Back to the Eighties radio show, especially because we have
so many thousands and tans of listeners, and thank you,
thank you to all that support the program by listening
week to week. But here's what happened. We did have

(06:10):
to get together and kind of gather our thoughts. We
did get a couple of email, of more than a
couple of emails from the record labels. And it's not
even the record labels. It's an agency that the record
labels hire online so they can see who's playing music,
who's not so long story short, we got letters saying,

(06:34):
you know, you need to not be playing certain music,
and they explain to us what music we couldn't play.
They don't even want us to play like a few
seconds of it. And we even have permission from ASCAP
B and I to play a lot of that music,
but they don't care. And rather than to go through
the trouble and to get in trouble, what we have

(06:56):
done is taken away a lot of the shows and
we've rebranded, we've renamed them and taken out the music,
so everything is you know, kosher. That way, nobody gets
in trouble. However, what does that mean for the show? Chang, Well,
you know it. We've been playing music on the show.
We usually leave the music for around a week or

(07:16):
so and then we cut it off. What we're going
to do from now on. For those of you who
don't know, we do have a radio station, an eighties
radio station called Back to the Eighties Radio. I used
to be called k HITS ninety two point five. We
changed the name, of course, to Back to the Eighties Radio.
You can find that if you download the app on

(07:38):
your phone called Live three sixty five dot com. That's
Live three six five dot com and search for the
station called Back to the Eighties Radio. That's us twenty
four hours a day. We've got over ten thousand songs there,
we've got eighties commercials, we've got eighties everything. Now what

(08:00):
are we going to do? So every week when you
hear us, if you want to hear the music, you're
going to have to go to Back to the Eighties
Radio on Live three sixtyfive dot com. If you download
the app, you're going to be able to hear it
in the car, You're going to hear it wherever you
have the app. Of course, Now, if you don't want
to do that and you just want to continue listening

(08:20):
to the show via your podcast platform, whoever it is,
here's what's going to happen. Two things. One, the show
is going to be a lot shorter. Okay, first of all,
it's going to be thirty minutes, So we have cut
the time of the show to thirty minutes now, and
you're not going to hear any music, So it's just
going to be Chang and I talking about whatever the subject.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Of the day is.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
That's exactly why we don't even play the Eagles on
Live three sixty five, and we could play them there
because we have all the royalties paid for, but we're
not paying for it.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Why chang Because Don Henley not only lied and said
the Eagles were done with the passing of Glenn Fry,
and he brought his son out to carry the way
so they can make more money. It's because he's that
greeting that they don't want getting their music played and
reviving their music to new listeners who will probably dial

(09:11):
in and purchase their music. We're doing them a favor.
But long story short, Don Henley and whoever is connected
to the Eagles, which is a great band by the way,
doesn't want nothing to do with us playing their music.
I guess they're kind of like having a Metallica seizure
where at that time when everybody was stealing their music.
And I can understand that the other band is Moldy Crue.

(09:34):
I mean, oh wait a minute, Moldy Crue, Motley Crue.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
Now, I know.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
There's a lot of people out there, there's a lot
of Changster's gangsters out there, headbangers and sisters that do
love Motley Crue. Whether it was the glam Era or
their first EP and their first album. Other than that,
they also have contacted Back to the Eighties Radio Tuscano
and Chang and without we were asked not to play

(10:02):
their music, and you know, first of all, we want
to give you the experience of being back in the eighties,
hearing the music, hearing the vibe. We try to joke
around in here so we can make your day a
little bit lighter. However you want to listen, we appreciate
whatever time you want to listen. So I think with
this new flavor, yeah, we're gonna have to take it
into shorts just for a little while. And like Tiscano said,

(10:25):
if you want to hear the show in its entirety
with the presence of an FM actual radio show format,
you can listen to us on Back to the Eighties Radio.
Go ahead and download us. Tell your friends, tell your children,
tell your enemies, tell your neighbors, tell your friends in church,
call somebody up in another state and tell us about them.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Here's what I want to do, because we're going to
be you know, Chane mentioned something about a phone numbers.
That's very true, because we want to go live every
single Friday. We want to go live but the only
way you can hear us live and actually call into
the program, talk to us and sending your request for music.
The only way would be for you to listen to

(11:09):
us through spreaker. That's s p R E a k
e R spreaker dot com and look for back to
the Eighties Radio. If we go live, you'll be able
to call in. Like I said, there's this is no editing.
This is this is radio edits best. This is live
radio there. I think there may be like a ten

(11:30):
to twenty second delay. That's pretty much it, but it
is live now. If we do that, you would have
to go through spreaker. We're going to be giving you
more information on that as the days progress. Now here's
the news that's going to be news for chang two.
One of the things that I would like us to do,
and I would like for you to join us, is

(11:51):
live every other Friday night for three hours if possible.
We would like to live on YouTube. That way you
can see us. We can see you basically talk about
stuff from the eighties, take your comments and everything online
and just talk about the eighties and just have a

(12:14):
good conversation, reminisce and just talk about the greatest era
of all time.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Now, I think that is a chantastic idea. I think
the folks out there will find they're having a changorrific time.
And I think that all the two d PA duties
and the Tusky Tuskers out there would probably like that.
I think that's an antidote not only for other listeners,
but for us to take a step back in time

(12:42):
without jumping in the Tuscano and Chank time machine and
actually going back. I think that the show is going
to be something that you could share with your children,
depending on the ages. Now, everybody out there has to
be smart parents and aware parents. Maybe we can go
every other Friday night. We will have a theme. I

(13:04):
think we should hit everybody out there with anything that
we can possibly do in the radio arsenal of weapons
that we could possibly bring out of our vault to
give the listener the experience of being actually back in
the nineteen eighties without the aqua net, without the bangs,
without the spandex. Heck, if they're about my age, without

(13:28):
your kids, those little bastards should already be moved out,
having kids, giving you grandkids and on their own.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
There's more when we come back don't go with.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
Good morning, Good morning. At six twenty six, and so
far they do not know what caused the death of
the twos Big John Matusay collapse Saturday evening. He was
rushed to Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Burmac pronounced dead
of an apparent heart failure. Now, the autopsy was done
Sunday on the former Raider Star defensive alignment, and the
official release from the doctors involved says the autopsy has

(13:56):
found no natural cause for John's death. People who knew
and partied with Matusac have a lot of speculations, and yes,
the speculations do concern alcohol or substance abuse. The lab
would be making detailed toxicological testing this week. Lately, make
John Matusac appeared in some motion pictures bang and pushing
and shove. Yeah, he was doing that too, I understand.

(14:17):
He still did a few public appearances with other former Raiders,
and a friend told some reporters that John was ranting
and raving when she tried to talk with him just
about an hour before he collapsed Saturday. This is to
be continued. Angels are happy at the return of Mike
Wit and the Dodgers are ecstatic at the return of
Fernando Vevenzuela. Angels beat Detroit to complete a sweep over
the Tigers. Mike Witt had not won and over a month.

(14:39):
His season has not been good, but he beat the
Tigers three to one. Sunday. Angels are back in town
and back in the race in second place, just a
game and a half behind Oakland. The Dodgers are five
and a half out of first place. They're fourth, behind
the Giants, Astros, and Reds in that order. The good
news is that Fernando Vealezuela pitched his third straight victory Sunday,
five to three over the Braves. Before this modest three

(14:59):
game winning streak, you remember, Fernando hadn't recorded a win
in nearly a full year. Curtis Strange becomes the first
golfer to win back to back US Opens, first since
Batham Ben Hogan did it back in nineteen fifty one.
That's thirty eight years and one more note. There is
a story going around that the man who sold the
La Kings, doctor Jerry Buss, finds an empty spot in
his heart. Doctor Buss still has the Lakers, you know,

(15:22):
but if this story is true, he also wants to
own a National Hockey League team one more time, he
issued me well. Bus has supposedly asked to be considered
as owner of any expansion hockey team, any team on
the West Coast, preferably San Diego. Bruce McNall, the man
who bought the Kings from Doctor Buss, says this could
be an example of Seller's remorse watching the team he

(15:43):
struggled with for so many years suddenly become very successful
and very popular the very first year after he sells them.
I'm coach Charlie Wright. Keep your eye on the.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Ball, Ladies and gentlemen, I'm Shadow Stevens and you must
listen to back to the eighties radio. It's the law.

Speaker 7 (16:03):
Mexican Americans don't like to just get into gang fights.
They like flowers and music and white girls named Debby too.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Mexican Americans are name Chata and Cella and Gemma and
have a son in law named Jeff. Mexican Americans don't
like to get up.

Speaker 7 (16:28):
Early in the morning, but they have to, so they
do it real slow. Mexican Americans love educations, so they
go to night school and they take Spanish and get
a bed. Then Mexican Americans.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Love their nanas and their no nos and their ninas
and their ninos. No no, no Nina, no no. Mexican Americas.
Don't let you go to the movies where the two
has to wear contact lenses to.

Speaker 7 (17:05):
Make us blue eyes brown.

Speaker 5 (17:07):
Don't make my brown eyes blue.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
And that's all I got.

Speaker 6 (17:13):
How do you like it?

Speaker 7 (17:15):
When we thought the eighties eighties, eighties were lame, that's
because we had lived through this decade.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Yet you're listening to Back to the eighties.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Welcome back to Back to the eighties Radio. Tuscano and
Chang and the Driver's Seat and Chang Bang is right
here tonight. We're just on a little bit of a rant.
We're going to continue to keep this topic of our
format of our program, which has always been and will
always be free form radio for you and you and
you Now, Tiscana, let me ask you some let me

(17:45):
tick your little brain. We've had so many conversations on
this topic, and I'm sure most of our listeners that
have stayed with us, thank you very much, have heard
us embark upon this before. But maybe our new listeners
have not. Maybe our younger listeners are not familiar with
the way that radio was back in the eighties, specifically

(18:06):
the eighties, and how it started changing towards the early nineties,
where we started losing the presence of the jock such
as yourself and myself, you know, characters who are giving
us a theater of the mind. Of course, Jim Ladd
who gave us that phrase theater of the mind, and

(18:26):
our good friends Shadow Stevens, our late friend Gino Mitchellini.
But I would like to bring radio back to give
the younger generation a little bit of nostalgia, maybe a
little bit of understanding, you know what, instead of hiding
in your tablet or your device for everything except listen
to our show on there you better your little bastards,

(18:48):
But something that they can say, wow, you know what,
maybe my parents radio was cool. Maybe if we all
gathered together, maybe all of us in this generation could
do something like to bring radio back.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Now, you mentioned a few things, and I want to
touch on those. First of all, I want you ladies
and gentlemen to know that the reason we're here still
doing this, and while we're going to be doing this,
First of all, we love radio because radio of the
eighties was freedom chang don't wouldn't you agree? DJs. They

(19:21):
had their freedom to shape their shows. It wasn't just
reading scripts. They had more time than just two seconds
to say their name. They improvised, they reacted to their audience,
and they added their own personal flare. It was real,
it was unscripted, it was real life. It was an
era where radio wasn't just a source for your music

(19:42):
like today streaming services they're just a source for music.
But it's not even music to enjoy as an experience now,
it's just I'm having it as background, you know, like
white noise or you know whatever it's called white noise
in the background to fall asleep. It used to be
an experience, a connection, sometimes even a friend. Music was

(20:06):
your friend. So this is why we're doing it, because
we want to bring that experience of not only the music,
but the on air jock back. And that's why we
play eighties commercials, That's why we play different things that
happened back in the eighties announcements, because we want to
bring you that real feeling sort of like a time machine,

(20:29):
like a real time machine, not just a podcast. Man,
how many podcasts changed that you've heard that are from
the eighties and it's just two people three people, sometimes more,
or maybe it's just one person reading a script that
talks all about the eighties. And look, that's fine. I
don't want to talk bad about what they do. That's great.
I love it because they're exposing people to the eighties.
But you and I Chang, we're not meant for that.

(20:53):
We're meant to actually entertain people. And that's what I
want people to understand. We want you to be entertained.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
And at the same time, I think, at the same
time that we hopefully entertain you, we enlighten you. You know,
maybe we can give you some quirky wisdom. Maybe one
of our topics is going to touch base with you
and it's going to hit home and you can relate
to it and you can identify with it. Let me
say this real quick. The word innovation to me describes

(21:24):
the eighties, eighties music, eighties radio, eighties television, eighties cinema,
eighties fashion, even eighties sports. To a certain degree, you
had innovation in it. I also want to say that
I think that decade is iconic because you can be

(21:46):
in a room, play a certain song, have people walk
in with certain dress attire, and then boom, they're going
to be. Hey man, that reminds you of the eighties,
iconic and innovating, do you not agree? And that's what
we want to do for the listeners out there. We
want to bring back those feelings of radio, you know.
So you're going to be a number one part, a

(22:07):
number three part. You are the third jock, ladies and
gentlemen out there if you listen live to us. You know,
if we can get these balls rolling and clapping and
get our balls to the wall, you know what I mean,
scream for some vengeance and get this thing going, you
can call in and then you can tell us exactly
what you want to hear. If you've got a song request,
if we can pull it out of our magic beanies,

(22:29):
We're going to give you a song request if you
hit us on social media or call in that day.
If we can rearrange the music that we have had
already had planned for you and put something that you want,
we're going to do it. Because we're doing this out
of the love me and him have for radio. We
enjoy our friendship and our time here. I think me

(22:51):
and this guy are like peanut butter and jelly, So
you know, it's just a win win. I think for everybody,
and I got to pat ourselves on the back first
of all, because I have a three and a half
foot reach on my arms. That's right. I used to
run track and field and run away from the police,
so I used to get good grips so I could
pat ourselves on the back. But that's what I think

(23:14):
about the eighties. That's what I think about radio, and
that's what I think about anybody out there that is
doing another podcast. It's in the eighties format now, of
course Ascano, you know me being a stand up comedian
and some of the other endeavors that I did. I'm
very all the sports I played. I'm always in competition.
It's always it's always the other team.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
We're going to be talking about so many subjects. We've
got people that have written to us and want to
know about the wives or the girlfriends of heavy meddlers.
We're gonna be talking about radio. We're gonna be talking
about music. We're gonna be talking about the performers, the bands,
the one hit wonders, the ones that are no longer
around with us. You know, We've got tons and tons

(23:57):
of material that we're going to be talking about. So
We just need you to stick around with us on
this trip. You know, Chang. We talked at the beginning
that we're going to be doing a thirty minute show
from now on, and it seems like time flies when
you're doing it this short of a show, and we're
not used to it, but we're going to try it
for a while and hopefully, well, that's a wrap on

(24:19):
today's show. We've only scratched the surface, ladies and gentlemen,
of what made the eighties so special and what made
eighties radio so great. The stories, music and personalities. They're
all part of the magic that we're bringing you every week.
And trust us, we've got so much more coming up.
So whether you're cruising down the road, relaxing at home,

(24:40):
at the gym, at school, on the street, walking the dog,
or just by yourself tuning into escape, remember this is
where the past meets the present and the magic never fades.
We're going to be right here next week, bringing you
even more memories and moments from the heart of the
eighties and eighties radio with us. Keep the music loud,

(25:02):
the memory is even louder because we can't wait to
hang out with you again until next time. Back to
the Eighties Radio from Discano and Chain keep rocking. We'll
see you soon.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Now, before we release you to another chang Cages week,
we bid you here from Back to the Eighties Radio
on a whole audios river, Ustamanana, say nada and seeya.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Do all you.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
