Welcome back to the BWC and Happy September! We hope you all enjoyed your last week of summer, and are ready to hit the ground running with this new school year!  We're recapping our final weeks of summer - cape days and slow days, and how we are transitioning back to school. Liz had the BEST stay in Harwich - you can book her exact house that she rented through this link with New England Vacation Rentals. (PSA - booking direct through a vaca rental manager vs. air bnb is cheaper because you avoid crazy fees!)

Delilah and Rocco are in pre-K, so we will keep you updated on those nervous jitters!  We get into the whole new labubu craze and how we struggle with wanting to give our kids everything vs. saying "no" to the silly fads (shoutout to Raw Kickz who Liz mentions!) We discuss the scary part of sending our kids to school (prayers to all those affected in the Minneapolis shooting), and how we want to protect our kids without completely sheltering them.  There's a town in MA that got rid of all homework for elementary school - do we love that!? And what are your thoughts on kids calling us by last name? Let us know in the comments section!

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
