Speaker 1 (01:58):
Thank you.
Thank you, hey, I'm Dr KateWalker.
Welcome to your Tuesday groupcoaching in the Step it Up
membership.
If you are going to join me,live yay, I'm going to let folks
in in just a second.
If you are just listening tosome kind of a replay on YouTube
or a podcast or you're in theStep it Up membership and you're
able to get all of thetranscripts and ask questions

(02:19):
and interact in the Facebookgroup, yay, go you, because
you're doing something great tobadass up your practice.
And today is super exciting, let me let folks in.
So I love this topic so much but, to be completely honest and
vulnerable, probably two monthsago I did not love this.

(02:39):
And it is not that I'm likeagainst AI.
You know, I think AI is great.
It just you know, have you everbeen in one of those seasons
where you're like I will dealwith that later, I will deal
with that later, right, and I'msure a lot of us are there, and
especially this time of year, Iwas thinking, okay, absolutely

(03:00):
no way am I going to dive intoAI.
No way am I going to dive intoAI.
Well, serendipitously enough, our expert this month was Dr
Melissa McCaffrey, who taught ushow AI and notes is a thing and
it's doable and it's ethicaland there are great ways to do
that.
And that piqued my interest.
And then my business coach.

(03:21):
She's been pushing AI on meforever and so I was like, okay,
let me give this a try.
And so there is.
I gave myself this sort of 90days, right.
So I thought, okay, I got toget my ideas and my strategies
together for 2025.
How about if I combine sort ofwhat I do every year, which is

(03:46):
take this time of year and sortof do retrospect what went well,
what could I do better?
But I wasn't feeling inspired,you know.
I was just sort of like, allright, same old, same old, I'm
going to come up with the samethings.
But still, yeah, I get stuckwith numbers.
You know, I'm not sure what tomeasure.
I'm not sure what means I'mdoing a great job or I'm doing

(04:07):
not a great job.
So here's where this all cameto pass.
Two weeks ago, in our groupcoaching, I kind of got off
topic.
I was planning to do, you know, just kind of paperwork, but
then I got into strategies formarketing, because that's where
I started with AI.
I was like, okay, I needcontent for the month of January

(04:27):
, because I'm gonna have apromotion for this product and I
need emails that will help me.
And all of a sudden, I wasputting all this into AI and it
went boom, boom, boom, boom,boom.
My work was done, like this waswork that would normally take
me all afternoon and it justthere.
It was Now, as I mentioned inthe workshop two weeks ago, and

(04:49):
you'll be able to download thisand see it soon.
It was not my voice, so I didhave to go through and make sure
that what was being produced inwriting because this is what
I'm gonna send out to you guys,or this is how I'm gonna develop
my website copy it needs to bein my voice and it needs to be

(05:11):
accurate, and so, with AI, it'snot like a magic genie.
It's not just going to spitstuff at you and it's going to
automatically be correct, atleast now.
You know, maybe in another yearit will be wonderful, and we
can all trust it implicitly, explicitly, whatever, but right
now, yeah, you know, maybe inanother year it will be
wonderful, and we can all trustit implicitly, explicitly,
whatever, but right now, yeah, you do need to go back and make
sure it's in your voice.
So today I was going to kind ofI was going to review what we

(05:35):
talked about last time, which ispaperwork.
You know things like yourintake forms asking chat, GPT or
Claude or one of the other AIengines.
You know, okay, what would be.
Give me an example of intakepaperwork for an LPC in Texas

(05:56):
and it would give you a goodframework, right.
So if you are going through andredoing your paperwork, the
other thing I talked about wasstrategies for content.
We talked about SEO, searchengine optimization which all
that means is Google's out theretrying to be the best butler it
can be, right, so or bestwaiter it can be.

(06:18):
You know, like if you're at arestaurant and you're like I
want this, but I want this onthe side and make sure it's
medium rare you want to makesure that the waiter doesn't
just bring you a bowl ofporridge or something, unless
that's what you ordered.
So that's what Google is.
Google is trying to be a reallygood waiter or a really good
butler and serve whoever's onthe other end of that keyboard.

(06:40):
So that is your potentialclient typing away, looking, and
Google wants to bring them thebest match for what they're
searching for?
Well, it does that by crawlingwith the bots and don't ask me
any more than that.
But it can't help the potentialclient find you if you have not

(07:02):
created content for Google tocrawl.
And so I talked about how blogposts excellent way to develop
content, your website copy likeif you don't do anything else,
make sure that you have websitecopy that would resonate with
your potential client.

(07:22):
And I talked about things likeyour ideal client.
We talked about things likeyour ideal client.
We talked about pain pointsthat this ideal client
experiences and then creatingcontent that shows how you are
the perfect match for thatclient at this point in their
pain.
And so go back and listen tothat.
But don't worry, I'm going totalk about that, I'm not going

(07:44):
to leave you hanging, I'm justgoing to.
I want to develop more of it.
So when we talked about thisideal client, I think I made up
someone who is grieving over theloss of a pet.
They are looking for acounselor to help them with
their grief over the loss of apet.
And we talked about okay, whatwould 12 months of blogs look

(08:06):
like?
Well, that's what you wouldplug into chat.
Gpt, give me 12 months of blogtitles related to grieving the
loss of a pet.
That would resonate with apotential client, and then you
could get even more detailed.
You could give maybe the citythat you live in, maybe the

(08:26):
demographic that you serve,right.
Do you work with adolescents?
Do you work with an olderpopulation?
So ChatGPT could give you 12blog titles and that's a
wonderful place to start yourjourney into AI.
Just getting that copy, gettingthat content on your website.

(08:47):
So I'm going to dovetail off ofthat today and I'm going to
talk about the parts of yourwebsite that need to be
optimized so that the searchengines can find it easily and
deliver it easily to yourpotential client at the other
end of that keyboard.
So the parts of the website I'mgoing to.

(09:08):
I'm online, but I'm not goingto screen share today, so I'm
going to my clinical website,achievebalanceorg.
Oh, that's not good.
Website's not working.
Okay, hope it's just land pastthe center.
Oh, there, it is Okay.
When it rains and land passes, our internet goes down.

(09:30):
So the homepage, the way I havemy website set up, it's actually
a blog and that's whatWordPress is.
It's kind of the old schoolblog website, but it's wonderful
for SEO.
So my blog is actually on myhome page.
So you see my picture, you seea little blurb about mindfulness

(09:53):
and then bam, it takes youright into all of my blog posts.
Now you don't have to do that.
That's just how I chose to domy home page.
Also on my home page, you knowI've talked about if you've ever
heard me teach my phone numberis right there, above the fold.
Above the fold is just anold-fashioned word.

(10:13):
If you think of a pamphlet, right, that fold is where you
open it up with a website, or ifyou're on your phone, that's
before you hit scroll, rightBefore you have to scroll.
That's above the fold.
So I have everything you needto contact me above the fold.
I've got a schedule andappointment button, I've got a

(10:33):
phone number.
All this good information andyou don't have to scroll to find
it.
So the next thing I have is anabout and services, so you can
click that and you can see aboutme, and I have not updated this
in a while.
So if you're following along onmy website, you'll hopefully

(10:56):
know it's pretty up to date.
So you'll see information thatwould hopefully resonate with a
potential client.
That fits my niche and myspecialty and my office hours
and all of the things we'vetalked about before that make a
potential counselor or client agood fit.
So you would go into chat GPTand you would give it

(11:20):
information about you and thatdoesn't have to be great grammar
you don't have to use.
You know capitals and lowercaseor whatever you like to do.
Just do a little free formtyping about you and then ask
ChatGPT or the AI hey, give meabout a paragraph and a half.

(11:42):
Make sure that it highlightsthe areas that would attract or
be a good fit for my potentialclient.
Now that means you also have toput in free form into ChatGPT
information about your potentialclient as detailed as you can.

(12:02):
The other part, services.
So I've got information aboutindividual and couple and family
.
I've got, of course, my blogand then counselor education and
supervision.
That just goes to the KateWalker training website.
And then I have testimonialsfrom colleagues.
I never gather testimonialsfrom clients.

(12:24):
You guys know about that and me, so go back and grab that in
another episode if you're notsure about that.
So, most important, yourhomepage, your about me page and
your services page and then, ifyou're able to and you're
willing and you're feeling up toit, you can add your blog

(12:46):
website SEO, google, yahoo, bingthey all love content, right?
So blogs are wonderful.
And then, if you're feelingadventurous and I talked about
this last time if you enjoyemail, then you can add a form
so people can ask for moreinformation.
Or you can create something wecall an opt-in, where they give

(13:10):
you the information and they getsomething that they need.
So let's say, you work withyoung kids, right?
And you want parents to havefive ways to entertain your
toddlers during a family mealover the holidays, right.
So you give them five tips on aPDF and when they sign up for

(13:33):
your form, they can downloadthat freebie and they are
already just in love with yourservices because you just gave
them something to navigate thenext family gathering a little
bit less stressfully, right.
So that's how we buildrelationships.
So you see chat, gpt and AI.

(13:53):
It's not just a robot and it'sgiving you this canned response.
I guess what comes to mind islike when you get a transcript
of something like this if I sendout and I just clicked okay,
regurgitate a transcript, andI'm looking at this sort of
robotic thing where I just say Isay so all the time and I'm

(14:13):
going through right.
It's not like that.
It's going to give youinformation and the more
detailed you are, the moredetailed the information it will
give you.
Then you can copy paste it intothe back office of your website
and start your journey tobuilding that content.
But okay, here's the part I'mreally excited about.

(14:37):
So the thing that got me just sohooked into AI over the past
few days, as I mentioned beforethis time of year is my
strategizing.
It's the end of Q4 and I'mgoing to start Q1 January.
Well, we all do right, q1 isJanuary and we want to hit the
ground running, and I've beendoing this a long time and I was

(15:00):
just I was not feeling inspiredfor Q1.
I mean, if you're listening tothis now, you know we have a
giveaway that we're doing superexcited about that and I was
like, oh, I just don't know whatI want to do in 2025.
What's new and different andhow can I reach more people and
how can we close the gaps inaccess to care in Texas?

(15:20):
You know I was out of ideas, soI'm going to spell it out
really clearly how you can dothis, just like I did.
So, first things first, thinkabout your why, and with your
why.
This is for your practice.

(15:41):
I want you to put anything, atleast five things.
Why are you wanting to be inprivate practice?
Why are you in private practice?
Why are you adding supervision?
Why are you adding a newspecialty?
So your why for what you'redoing, and don't leave things

(16:02):
out like well, because I want tohave time with my family.
I want a flexible schedule.
I want to make more money thanI can when I do, when I take
insurance.
I mean, be brutally honest,right?
This is your time to reallyjust dump, brain dump about your
why.
Do you want to leave a legacy?

(16:22):
Are you trying to createsomething that'll last in your
community?
Do you want to create somethingthat maybe you can sell someday
?
Okay, then, your vision, whichis just your why, but it's long
term, a little more actionable,right?
So if your why is because youwant to give back, you want

(16:43):
flexibility, you want to be ableto make more money, whatever
that is, what's your vision forthis?
And this could be a littleharder.
So maybe, instead of fivethings, you think of one or two
things and then ask chat, gpt,and this is what blew my mind

(17:03):
ask them, ask it, not them.
Ask it where your everydayaligns and where it misaligns
with your why and your vision.
So here's what I did.
I did my why.
Put it into chat GPT.
I did my vision.
Put it into ChatGPT.

(17:24):
Then I just sat there for asecond and I thought, okay, I'm
just going to free flow and I'mgoing to type everything about
my business.
And I didn't take a lot of timeto do this, like I didn't sit
and make an outline or anything,I just thought through it.
Okay, here's what I do.
Here's what I sell.
Here's my team.

(17:44):
Here's about how much.
Here's what every team memberdoes.
Here's what I enjoy.
I put in there how I like totravel.
I put in there I love thefreedom to go visit my pregnant
daughter in Conroe, texas, whenshe's graduating from Sam
Houston State University.
I put it all in there and italready had the information

(18:08):
about my vision, what I hope todo with this business, who I
hope to reach, what I hope thebusiness does right.
And then I asked the magicquestion where does my everyday
business management align withthat vision and where does it
struggle to make what?
What might I have to give up?

(18:28):
Right, and it was incredible.
I mean it was.
I've got a whiteboard over herejust with all of the things it
told me.
It said Okay, here's four waysthat your everyday aligns with
your why and your vision.
Good job.
Well, here's four things overhere that you may need to
rethink and do better.

(18:50):
Do you need help with that?
And that's what's so cool.
Ai will ask at the end of it doyou need help with that?
And I always answer yes, I do.
So it gave me.
Here are some actionable stepsthat you can take.
See, this is my Q1 plan.
This is my strategic thinking.
Now I'm getting somewhere withactionable work that I can

(19:12):
schedule to hit the groundrunning in 2025.
Now, it was good, you know, butI'm not going to lie.
I went down a rabbit hole alittle bit because it was just
okay there's more, there's more, there's more Because chat,
openai, chat, gpt kept askingwould you like help with that?

(19:32):
Would you like me to show youthat?
Would you like to see anexample of that?
And, of course, I'm like yes, yes, I do, yes, please.
And so what I'm doing today isI'm actually going through the
prompts that were created frommy prompts and I'm just copy and
pasting it into a Word documentso it's more organized for me.

(19:53):
So, for example, I'll give you.
Let's see, here's somethingChatGPT told me.
It said to build operationalefficiency with your team.
Your current team setup ishelpful but could be optimized
to free you up for high levelstrategic activities.

(20:15):
And then it gave me three areasof focus and then three steps,
actionable steps, to achievethat focus.
And then it went through.
I think five, yeah, five things.
Refine marketing strategy, itsays your email strategy is
active, but refining it to focuson segmentation and automation

(20:37):
could improve engagement andconversions.
And if you don't know whatthose mean, that's okay.
You don't have to know whatthat means, because ChatGPT will
say, okay, do you know whatthat is?
Because if you don't know whatthat is, I can absolutely
explain to you what that is.
And that's where I kind of wentdown the rabbit hole, because
there were some new terms.

(20:57):
I had no idea.
But I wanted to know and I'mnot going to lie, I love
dashboards.
If you can show me a way tocreate a dashboard, I would love
that.
And it did.
It was showing me how I couldcreate dashboards.
So let's review.
We talked about last timepaperwork, things like asking

(21:19):
ChatGPT, how to improve yourintake paperwork and when we use
it for paperwork anythingthat's official always, always,
take that paperwork and have ittested and looked at by a
trusted human right.
We talked about strategies forcontent because search engine

(21:42):
optimization the search engineslove content, right?
So your website copy, your blog, copy, if you like to do email,
making sure that you'restrategizing about emails and
how to send them out all of thatChatGPT can help you with.
If you're way into this andyou're doing YouTube videos or

(22:04):
podcasts, you need content tostay consistent.
Yeah, I'm not even going totalk about social media, but
start with that.
More we talked about the moretoday, right, we went through
the parts of your website wetalked about strategies for
future thinking and that isdumping your why and your vision

(22:25):
into ChatGPT.
Then dumping in your dailyoperations, sort of how, the
snapshot of the state of yourpractice right now, and then
asking ChatGPT basically, okay, what do I do next?
How should I prioritize this?
In fact, it was funny.
It put in something.
I prioritize this.

(22:47):
In fact, it was funny.
It put in something and I wasjust like, oh no, like I'm going
to have to go through anddeconstruct and reconstruct, and
so I typed in the prompt is itworth it to go back and try to
deconstruct and reconstruct this?
And ChatGPT came back and saidno, don't do that.
Y'all I need that.
I need somebody to say hey, stop, don't go down this rabbit

(23:09):
hole, come back.
And it said this is what Ithink, and remember, it's just a
robot.
This is what I think will giveyou the most bang for your buck.
So start here, and so that'swhat I've done.
I've started putting it into aWord document and then I, the
human, get to choose what I donext.

(23:29):
But I got to tell you I likethis chat GPT.
You know it's helping me out alot.
All right, so that's my spiel.
I'm going to hit pause and openit up for questions.
