Simon Latumalea is de voorzitter van DVC Dedemsvaart. De voetbalvereniging is een aantal jaren geleden uit een fusie ontstaan. Al een aantal jaren speelt de discussie of de club moet blijven op de huidige locatie (Sportpark de Boekweit), of dat het beter is om te verhuizen naar een plek met meer groeimogelijkheden. De plek van het huidige sportpark zou dan gebruikt kunnen worden voor woningbouw. Een interessant bakkie over de toekomst van de voetbalvereniging, maar vooral ook over de toekomst van het mooie dorp Dedemsvaart.
