Harkaren (00:03):
Hello everyone and welcome to Balance Baby, the
podcast designed to help youconsistently show up as the best
version of yourself.
My name is Harkaren and I'll beyour host.
I'll be here every week sharingstories and teaching you
techniques to prioritize theonly thing we have any control

(00:25):
over in this world.
Recently, I've started to goback and reread some of my
favorite books.
One of those books is the SevenSpiritual Laws of Success by
Deepak Chopra.
You might remember mementioning this book in episode
3 when I was talking about myfirst meditation experience.

(00:49):
When you hear the word success, what comes to mind Be a certain
job title or achievement, maybefame or recognition, or an
accumulation of wealth or someother material possessions, but
none of these are a true measureof success.
All of them can be taken fromyou and none of them will bring

(01:14):
you lasting joy and fulfillment.
We often associate success withhard work or being better than
others, but that's not the caseeither.
Deepak Chopra states success inlife could be defined as the
continued expansion of happiness.
It is the ability to fulfillyour desires with effortless

(01:37):
ease.
Success, then, is not adestination, it is a journey.
It involves constant movementand growth.
Even you're a little particlefloating around in a
semi-inflated balloon.
Let's say you're happilyfloating around and you touch
the inner edge of the balloon.

(01:58):
We could imagine that that edgerepresents a milestone or the
most happiness you'veexperienced so far.
Notice that I said so far, because the edge isn't the final
destination.
In fact, just by touching thatedge, you've caused the balloon
to inflate more.

(02:19):
Now you suddenly have more roomfor your growth and expansion.
As you continue to reach newlevels and new heights, as you
continue to experience more joyand happiness in your life, your
balloon will continue to expand.
One of the main lies we've beentold in life is that we need to

(02:42):
work hard.
So most of us are working hardat something we actually hate.
It sucks the life out of us, itdrains us of our energy and it
leaves us with no time or energyto do the things we truly love.
We live in a physical world, soof course, we need money, we

(03:02):
need a house, we need cars andplanes to get around, but what
we're not taught is that thereare universal laws at play,
constantly operating in thebackground.
We spend our time bingewatching trash TV rather than
practicing quieting our mind andlearning to reconnect with our

(03:24):
consciousness, our source, energy, our intuition, and this
is the reason why so many peoplewill never reach their full
potential.
They will float around in theirsemi-inflated balloon rather
than pushing the boundaries andconstantly reaching for that
edge.
It's so easy and enjoyable toget there once you learn how to

(03:49):
tap into your inner guidance.
But, as the saying goes, peoplewould rather suffer in a
familiar hell over an unfamiliarheaven.
I'm sorry, but mediocrity isnot for me, and since you're
listening to this podcast, Iknow that it's not for you
either.
So let's dive into the sevenspiritual laws of success, which

(04:13):
are going to help us unlock allthe joy and fulfillment this
life has to offer us.
The first law is the law ofpure potentiality.
Pure potentiality essentiallymeans that you're an infinite
being.
You are limitless.
Many of us limit what webelieve is possible based on

(04:34):
what we ourselves have observedor experienced, but life is full
of mysteries and miracles.
There are so many unexplainablephenomena that exist and
there's no way we could knoweverything, so we must learn to
keep an open mind andacknowledge that anything is
possible.
Pure potentiality is aboutgoing beyond your subconscious

(04:59):
mind, your past programming, andtapping into your conscious
mind, filled with creativity andimagination.
Our conscious mind is not theone that is thinking.
It is the one that is aware ofthe thinking.
Our consciousness is the silentmoments that exist between the
thoughts.

(05:21):
The author mentions that the lawof pure potentiality could also
be referred to as the law ofunity, meaning that everything
in the universe is connected.
Have you ever heard that we arestardust?
I don't mean that in somepoetic way.
Science has confirmed that manyof the elements found in our

(05:45):
bodies, including hydrogen, oxygen, carbon and nitrogen,
were synthesized in the cores ofstars through nuclear fusion
processes.
When massive stars reach theend of their life cycle, they
undergo supernova explosions,dispersing their heavier

(06:06):
elements into space.
These elements then become partof an interstellar cloud, which
can collapse under theinfluence of gravity to form new
stars and planets, includingEarth, and can contribute to the
formation of life as we know it.
This highlights theinterconnectedness of everything

(06:29):
and reminds us that we are morealike than we are different.
In reality, we are not above orbelow anyone.
We are all the same.
We all have the universe withinus.
We all have limitless potentialwithin us.
Our physical realities differbecause they are a reflection of

(06:52):
our inner worlds.
Does this help you understandthat when someone is lashing out
, it has everything to do withtheir internal world and nothing
to do with you.
Or when what you want is notmaterializing in the physical
world, it has everything to dowith your inner world.
When we stop trying to controlor judge others, we connect with

(07:17):
our true selves, our mostauthentic selves.
Chopra states you must learn toget in touch with the innermost
essence of your being.
This true essence is beyond theego.
It is fearless, it is free, itis immune to criticism, it does
not fear any challenge, it isbeneath no one, superior to no

(07:42):
one, and full of magic, mysteryand enchantment.
The second law should be mucheasier to wrap your head around.
It is the law of giving.
It emphasizes the importance ofgenerosity, abundance and
reciprocity in our lives.
Life is in a constant state offlow and when we stop giving, we

(08:07):
stop the flow.
The more you give, the more youwill receive, because you will
keep the abundance of theuniverse circulating in your
life.
Practicing the law of giving isactually very simple.
If you want joy, give joy toothers.
If you want love, learn to givelove.

(08:29):
If you want attention andappreciation, learn to give
attention and appreciation.
If you want material affluence, help others to become
materially affluent.
So the easiest way to get whatyou want is to help others get
what they want.
Giving material gifts is great, but the most powerful form of

(08:52):
giving are non-material.
Caring, attention, affection, appreciation and love are some
of the most precious gifts youcan give, and they won't cost
you anything.
When you meet someone, you cansilently send them a blessing or
a prayer.
You can wish them happiness andjoy.

(09:13):
Pure Potentiality tells us thatwe are a limitless source of
energy.
So as long as we stay connectedto that source energy, we can
give freely, knowing that itwill be reciprocated, because
life is constantly flowing.
The third law is the law ofkarma, or cause and effect.

(09:35):
Most people are familiar withthe idea of karma, but may not
understand its true meaning.
Some people think of karma aswhat goes around comes around,
which is not entirely true.
On a very basic level, it meansthat the actions we take carry

(09:55):
a corresponding consequence.
Sometimes the consequences ofour actions may not always be
immediate or apparent.
They might appear over time orin ways we didn't anticipate.
But the important part the partmost people miss is that the
law of karma emphasizes that itis the underlying motives and

(10:20):
intentions behind our actionsthat cause the related effect.
As some of you may know, I havea karma tattoo and the story
behind it is kind of hilarious, but I'll save it for another day
.
It was my first tattoo and Igot it when I was about 16 years
old.
For the record, I still love it.

(10:42):
I would not change anythingabout it.
The meaning of karma hasevolved so much for me since I
first got my tattoo.
Karma has become a guidingprinciple in my life.
It is my daily reminder to actwith integrity, even in
challenging situations.
Over the years, my karma tattoohas proven to be a source of

(11:05):
wisdom and strength and hasacted as a moral compass Instead
of stooping to other people'slevel or giving in to the urge
for revenge.
My tattoo serves as a constantreminder to rise above
negativity and embody theprinciples of kindness,
forgiveness and empathy.

(11:26):
It reminds me of theinterconnectedness of everything
and the importance ofcultivating positive energy in
the world.
It is a tangible reminder formy personal growth and
resilience.
Sometimes we think we don't havea choice of how we react, but

(11:46):
that's not true.
Many of the choices we make aremade unconsciously.
For example, if someone insultsyou.
You can choose to be offended,or you could accept that that's
just their opinion andunderstand that their opinion
doesn't change who you are atyour core.

(12:08):
Law number four is the law ofleast effort.
Essentially, when you arebalanced and in a state of
alignment, your desires manifesteffortlessly.
This law encourages us to gowith the flow rather than
constantly swimming against thecurrent.
It's about finding the path ofleast resistance and allowing

(12:32):
things to unfold naturallyrather than forcing outcomes
through sheer effort andwillpower.
There is a natural sense ofwell-being that is always trying
to guide you.
We talked previously about howlife itself wants to support you
, but your unconscious negativethought loops may be keeping you

(12:53):
stuck in a less than desirablesituation.
Hypothetically, if you couldteach your mind to stop thinking
, your life would automaticallybe guided towards a preferable
outcome.
It's the idea of accomplishingmore by doing less.
The law of least effortchallenges us to accept each

(13:15):
moment for what it is.
Accept each moment as if youchose it to be that way.
Trust that each moment isexactly as it should be, even if
it hurts, even if it doesn'tmake sense right now.
Get into the habit ofacceptance.
Then learn to respond and takeaction from this place of

(13:40):
acceptance, work smarter ratherthan harder, and cultivate a
mindset of acceptance,adaptability and non-resistance.
By practicing the law of leasteffort, we can conserve our
energy, reduce our stress andexperience greater harmony and

(14:01):
flow in our lives.
But it's not about beingpassive or lazy.
It's about being strategic anddiscerning in how we expend our
energy and resources.
It's about trusting in theintelligence of the universe to
support us on our journey.
The fifth law is based on thefact that energy and information

(14:24):
exist everywhere in nature.
It is the law of intention anddesire, based on the law of pure
potentiality.
We know that molecularly, thewhole universe is interconnected
, but what sets us apart from, let's say, plants and animals is

(14:45):
our consciousness, ourimagination, our creativity, our
thoughts, our feelings andemotions.
The law of intention and desireand the law of attraction are
closely related principles andthey operate in tandem to shape
our experiences and realities.
The law of intention and desireemphasizes the power of our

(15:09):
thoughts, intentions and desiresin manifesting our goals.
It suggests that when we have aclear intention and a strong
desire for something, we setinto motion a powerful energetic
force that aligns our actions, thoughts and circumstances with
fulfilling that desire.

(15:30):
Intention is the real powerbehind desire.
If you learn to harness thepower of intention, you can
create anything you desire.
Intent alone is very powerful, because intent is desire without
attachment to the outcome.
But desire alone is very weakbecause desire is attention,

(15:54):
with the attachment which leadsus to the sixth law, the law of
detachment.
This one can be tricky tomaster.
The law of detachment says thatin order to acquire anything in
the physical universe, you haveto release your attachment to it
.
You don't give up the intentionand you don't give up the

(16:17):
desire.
You give up your attachment tothe result.
My therapist refers to this asNATO.
Not attached to outcome.
Attachment comes from a placeof fear and insecurity.
The goal is to develop amindset of abundance and to
trust the universe's infinitecapacity to provide you your

(16:39):
needs and desires.
Our understanding of what iscapable in life is limited to
what we've observed orexperienced, but by practicing
detachment, we allow life tosurprise us.
We allow life to fulfill ourdesires beyond our wildest
dreams.
By practicing the law ofdetachment, we take a step into

(17:03):
the unknown, and in the unknownthe possibilities are endless.
You still have the intention ofgoing in a certain direction
and you still have a goal.
However, between point A andpoint B, there's an infinite
amount of possibilities.
The current version of yourselfhas a limited understanding of

(17:28):
the world.
As you step into the unknown, you grow and expand.
As you grow and expand, youstep into a higher version of
yourself.
This higher version will havedifferent potential outcomes
available than your lesserversion had.
I can relate the law ofdetachment to this podcast.

(17:50):
While I hold on to theintention and desire to provide
valuable content and facilitatepersonal growth, I've come to
understand that the journey andevolution of the podcast might
take unexpected turns.
I know that the version of mewho started the podcast had a
limited understanding of itspotential, just as the higher

(18:14):
version of myself holdsdifferent potential outcomes
than the version of me whoinitially launched the podcast.
I also recognize that mycurrent perspective may be
limited compared to what liesahead.
I trust in the unfolding ofevents and remain open to the
possibilities that presentthemselves along the way.

(18:34):
I know that, by staying alignedwith my intentions and desires,
the podcast will serve itspurpose in connecting people
with their authentic selves andsource energy, regardless of the
form it may take or thedirection it may go.
So, by releasing attachment tospecific outcomes.
I embrace the uncertainty as anopportunity for growth and

(18:58):
expansion.
And lastly, we have the seventhlaw, the law of dharma.
Dharma is a Sanskrit word thatmeans purpose in life.
There are three components tothis law.
The first is that each of us ishere to discover our higher
selves, our spiritual selves.

(19:19):
We are spiritual beings havinga human experience, not the
other way around.
Second, according to this law,you have a unique talent and a
unique way of expressing it.
There is something that you cando better than anyone else in
the whole world.

(19:39):
Often, when you're doing thatthing, you lose track of time.
And the third is your serviceto humanity.
Ask yourself the question howcan I serve others?
For every unique talent andunique expression of that talent
, there are also unique needs.

(20:00):
When these needs are matchedwith the creative expression of
your talent, that is a sparkthat creates affluence.
Expressing your talents tofulfill needs creates unlimited
wealth and abundance.
Ask yourself if money was noconcern and you had all the time

(20:21):
and money in the world, whatwould you do?
And then ask yourself how am Ibest suited to serve humanity?
This is how you will discoveryour life's purpose.
Through self-reflection, Irealized how these seven laws

(20:42):
created my foundation ofunderstanding.
I am so thankful to have comeacross such a profound book in
my early 20s and so gratefulthat so many of these practices
have stuck with me.
Today, I'm more in alignmentthan I've ever been before, and
I can tell by how deeply thesewords resonate with me.

(21:03):
The seven spiritual laws ofsuccess are powerful principles
that will enable you to attainself-mastery.
If you put your attention onthese laws and practice them,
you will also see that your lifebecomes more joyful and
abundant in every way.
As always, I'm here to help you.

These seven laws are connectedand no one explains it better
than Deepak Chopra, so I endthis off with part of the
conclusion from the book.
The law of pure potentiality isexperienced through silence,

(21:49):
through meditation, throughnon-judgment, through communion
with nature, but it is activatedby the law of giving.
The principle here is to learnto give that which you seek.
That's how you activate the lawof pure potentiality.
If you seek affluence, giveaffluence.

(22:09):
If you seek money, give money.
If you seek love, appreciationand affection, then learn to
give love, appreciation andaffection.
Through your actions in the lawof giving, you activate the law
of karma.
You create good karma, and goodkarma makes everything in life

(22:32):
easy.
You notice that you don't haveto expend a lot of effort to
fulfill your desires, whichautomatically leads to an
understanding of the law ofleast effort.
When everything is easy andeffortless and your desires keep
getting fulfilled, youspontaneously begin to
understand the law of intentionand desire.

(22:54):
Filling your desires witheffortless ease makes it easy
for you to practice the law ofdetachment.
Finally, as you begin tounderstand all of the above laws
, you begin to focus on yourtrue purpose in life, which
leads you to the law of Dharma.
Through the use of this law, byexpressing your unique talents

(23:18):
and fulfilling the needs of yourfellow humans, you begin to
create whatever you wantwhenever you want it.
You become carefree and joyfuland your life becomes an
expression of unbounded love.
Together here we're creating acommunity of beautiful souls

(23:39):
ready to uplift each other, ready to experience all the joy
that this life has to offer us.
And don't forget life is allabout balance, baby.
