From revered figures like the Buddha to modern thought leaders such as Louise Hay and Eckhart Tolle, we examine the footprints they've left on our spiritual landscape. But it's not just the giants of enlightenment who shape our path; personal stories of my own encounters - with a wise therapist and a stranger in a clinic - reveal how guidance can emerge from the unlikeliest of places, and even the unfiltered authenticity of children and pets can lead us back to joy and presence.

In this heart-to-heart, we also unwrap the transformative power of joyful energy in creating the reality we yearn for. Harkaren (00:03):
Hello everyone and welcome to Balance Baby, the
podcast designed to help youconsistently show up as the best
version of yourself.
My name is Harkaren and I'll beyour host.
I'll be here every week sharingstories and teaching you
techniques to prioritize theonly thing we have any control

(00:25):
over in this world ourselves.
Hello and welcome back.
I'm a little bit sick right now, so I apologize if my voice
sounds off.
I'm going to try my best not tosneeze or cough while I'm
recording this, but I'm soexcited to release this week's

(00:45):
episode so we gotta find a wayto make it work.
I love this topic, so much sothat it'll be broken up into two
parts.
This is part one, and next weekI'll be releasing part two.
In our lives, we will encounterso many different teachers.

(01:06):
In fact, you could argue thatevery person and every
experience is meant to teach ussomething.
Everyone we encounter and everyexperience we have can serve as
a lesson helping us grow andevolve along our journey.
A lesson helping us grow andevolve along our journey.

(01:29):
Teachers often challenge us,pushing us out of our comfort
zones and motivating us to takeaction and learn from our
experiences.
Whether you like it or not, your ex, who broke your trust
was a teacher.
That best friend that you nolonger speak with was a teacher.
That co-worker who gets on yournerves is also a teacher.

(01:50):
They were put on your path tohelp you learn something about
yourself.
Taking the time to understandwhy someone or something has
come into your life will onlyhelp you connect deeper with
yourself.
Reconnecting with yourself ishow you begin to show up
authentically, and on this pathtowards our authentic selves, we

(02:15):
will also encounter spiritualguides.
These are different from ourteachers.
Spiritual guides offer wisdomand insight to help us navigate
our path and understand thedeeper meanings behind our
experiences.
Their purpose is to guide ustowards the information we are

(02:36):
ready to receive for our soul'sevolution.
They teach us by providingknowledge and leading by example
.
Both are invaluable in ourpersonal and spiritual
development and guiding ustowards our authentic selves.
There are several figuresthroughout history who are

(02:58):
widely accepted as spiritualguides or sources of wisdom
across different cultures andtraditions.
Some examples are Buddha orJesus or our gurus.
They were enlightened humanscompletely tapped in and
operating from source energy.

(03:18):
Source energy is a pure sourceof love and well-being.
On a quantum level, it is thehighest vibrational energy that
exists.
Many spiritual traditions teachthat within each of us lies a
divine spark or essence, whichis often referred to as source

(03:39):
energy, the divine within yourtrue self or your higher self.
It's within each of us, and ourultimate goal is to stay tapped
in and to be continuously awareof our connection to our higher
self, allowing it to guide ourthoughts, feelings and actions.

(04:01):
The practices we learned inSeason 1, such as meditation,
mindfulness, gratitude and actsof kindness, are often used to
nurture this connection and todeepen our experience of inner
peace, love and well-being.

(04:22):
In addition to these well-knownspiritual guides, there are
countless modern spiritualguides who are making
contributions to the collectiveawakening of humanity.
Through their books, workshopsand online platforms, they offer
guidance and inspiration topeople on their spiritual

(04:43):
journey.
A few of my favorites areLouise Hay, who was the queen of
positive affirmations, eckhartTolle, who is a master of
present moment awareness, deepakChopra, who we discussed a bit
in season one, episode 9, wayneDyer, esther and Jerry Hicks,

(05:05):
and so many others.
These modern spiritual teacherscome from diverse backgrounds
and traditions, but they share acommon goal To help us deepen
our connection to Source Energyand align more fully with our
higher selves.
And align more fully with ourhigher selves.
By staying tapped in to thisdivine essence, we open

(05:36):
ourselves up to a life ofgreater joy, peace and
fulfillment, both for ourselvesand the world around us.
You can also encounterspiritual guides in your
everyday life.
Encounter spiritual guides inyour everyday life.
I have at least two people who Iconsider to be pivotal figures
in my own spiritual journey.
One of them is my therapist.
As my awareness andunderstanding expanded, she was

(05:58):
able to provide me with moreresources and understanding.
More resources andunderstanding.
She not only helped me deepenmy self-awareness, heal my past
wounds and cultivate greaterresilience.
She also introduced me to theteachings of modern spiritual
guides such as Louis Hay andEckhart Tolle.

(06:19):
By introducing me to thesemodern spiritual guides and
their wisdom, she provided mewith a holistic approach to my
healing and well-being,embracing the interconnectedness
of mind, body and spirit.
The second person was a woman Iused to get laser treatments

(06:40):
from.
This seemingly random person, who was only in my life for a
short period of time, made sucha profound impact on who I am,
what I believe and how Iinterpret the world around me.
But more on her in a futureepisode.
No-transcript For those of youwho have kids.

(07:11):
We often think we know more thanthey do, but truthfully they
often teach us just as much, ifnot more, than we teach them.
Kids see the world with fresheyes, without bias and ego.
In their innocence andcuriosity they remind us of the

(07:32):
wonder and magic that exists inevery moment, the joy that is
just waiting to be tapped into.
My sister will sometimes laughat me when I'm playing with my
two-year-old niece not in like amean way, like my niece will be
running around asking me tochase her, so I'll chase her and
I'll act extra silly, likeflailing my arms around while

(07:55):
I'm running behind her.
I do this for a few reasons.
One, because I'm tapping intomy own inner child and letting
her play however she wants.
Two, I'm an adult being silly, which makes my niece scream with
excitement.
And three, anyone who'swatching us play together is

(08:19):
laughing out loud and fullyengaged in the present moment,
even if just for a few seconds.
To me, that's a win-winsituation.
That is pure joy spreading toeveryone in the vicinity.
I even see my dog as aspiritual guide.
Our pets have the ability toconnect with us on a deeply

(08:43):
emotional and intuitive level, even though they don't speak the
same language as us.
They accept us as we are andprovide us with unconditional
love.
They remind us to let go ofdistractions and fully immerse
ourselves in the present moment.
We are so fortunate toexperience the love and joy that

(09:06):
children and pets bring intoour lives, and we can learn so
much from them if we allow themto teach us.
One of my favorite books thatI've read on my spiritual
journey is called Ask, and it IsGiven by Esther and Jerry Hicks
.
But before I start talkingabout the book, I need to

(09:27):
address something.
Esther and Jerry were a marriedcouple.
Jerry passed away in 2011 andEsther is still alive, still
doing workshops and teachingpeople how to reconnect with
source energy.
But you might have also heardthe name Abraham Hicks.
So who is Abraham Hicks?

(09:49):
Well, it's a bit woo-woo.
So I'm going to need you totrust me.
I would never lead you astray.
You're here because you'refinding value and insight in the
tools I'm sharing.
You've come here to learn frommy experience and from the
practices I applied to better myown life.

(10:12):
There comes a point in yourspiritual journey where you just
need to free fall and allow theuniverse to catch you, where
you can't logic your way through.
This is one of those moments.
Abraham Hicks isn't a person.
It's a collective consciousnesschanneled through Esther Hicks.

(10:34):
Esther Hicks discovered herability to channel Abraham in
the early 1980s and since thenshe has been sharing their
messages through books, workshops and seminars around
the world.
Workshops and seminars aroundthe world.

(10:56):
When Esther channels Abraham, she essentially becomes a
conduit for the higher wisdom, allowing it to flow through her
and communicate with others, similar to how a medium would
connect with a deceased lovedone to communicate their
messages with you.
Abraham is described as a groupof non-physical entities or
beings who exist in a highervibrational plane of existence.

(11:19):
They offer guidance, wisdom andteachings to help people align
with their true selves andmanifest their desires.
Their teachings emphasize thelaw of attraction and the power
of vibrational alignment.
They teach that we are allvibrational beings constantly

(11:41):
emitting frequencies thatattract experiences, people and
circumstances into our lives.
By learning to raise ourvibration and align with our
true desires, we can manifestour dreams and create a life of
joy, abundance and fulfillment.
Now I understand if thisconcept feels a bit abstract,

(12:06):
but I encourage you to approachit with an open mind.
Whether you resonate with theidea of channeling or not,
there's no denying the profoundimpact that Abraham Hicks'
teachings have had on countlesspeople, myself included.
Their wisdom has helped meshift my perspective, release

(12:27):
limiting beliefs and step into agreater sense of empowerment
and alignment.
So as we dive into theteachings of Ask and it Is Given
, keep an open heart and an openmind and allow yourself to
explore the power of aligningwith source energy and
manifesting your deepest desires.

(12:49):
Honestly, who knows?
You might just discover a wholenew way of looking at the world
and creating the life you'vealways dreamed of.
Ask and it Is Given is one ofthose books that you can only
read once you're ready to hearthe lessons.
It's so bizarre, but if you tryto read it before you're ready,

(13:11):
you'll either make excuses andnever start, or you'll start but
you'll never get through it.
Or, if you're stubborn, you'llforce yourself to read it all
but you won't actually resonatewith the messages.
But when you're truly ready, the messages will resonate so
deeply with your soul that youwill have no doubt that what's

(13:35):
written in this book is true.
Ask and it Is Given exploresthe principles of the law of
attraction and offers practicaltechniques for harnessing the
creative power of the universeto manifest your dreams and live
a life of purpose and joy.
It gives practical tips on howto ask for and then how to

(13:58):
receive whatever you want.
Right now I'm speaking to you inEnglish, obviously, but the
universe doesn't speak alanguage.
It speaks in energy.
It matches energetic vibrations.
Vocabulary is limited, butenergy is not.
You can speak words.

(14:19):
All you want it's yourvibrational energy behind the
words that's creating yourreality.
There's a part in this book thatI have to read to you.
The first time I read it, itmade me start to giggle.
I've always been a super gigglyperson, but something about
these words activated the joywithin me Somehow.

(14:42):
I just knew the words were true.
It starts by saying it is ourintention to help you remember
that you are extensions ofsource energy, that you are
blessed, loved beings and thatyou have come forth into this
physical time-space reality tojoyously create.

(15:06):
We write this book to reawakenwithin you your memory of the
power and inevitable successthat pulses through the core of
that which you are.
We write this book to assistyou in returning to your place
of optimism, positiveexpectation and expanded joy,

(15:28):
and to remind you that there isnothing that you cannot be, do
or have.
We write this book because wepromised you we would, and now,
as you hold this book in yourhands, you are completing a
promise that you made as well.
You knew then, before yourphysical birth, that you were

(15:52):
source energy specificallyfocused in this physical body,
and you knew that the physicalperson you would become could
never be separated from thatwhich you came from.
You understood then youreternal connection to that
source energy.
You were born with innateknowledge that you do create

(16:16):
your own reality.
You are eternal beings who havechosen to participate in this
specific physical lifeexperience for many wonderful
reasons.
Your motion forward isinevitable.
It must be.
You cannot help but moveforward.
But you are not here on a questto move forward.

(16:38):
You are here to experienceoutrageous joy.
That is why you are here.
There's something about theconcept of being reminded that
resonates so deeply for me as wejourney into spiritual and
personal growth.
A lot of the work we doinvolves unlearning and shedding

(17:01):
layers of conditioning andprogramming that we've absorbed
from society and culture andpast experiences.
This process of unlearning canbe liberating but also
challenging.
We're confronting beliefs thatare deeply ingrained.
We are confronting our fearsand traumas that have shaped our

(17:21):
perception of ourselves and theworld around us.
That message from the bookreminds us of our power as
extensions of source energy.
It serves as a gentle nudge toremember our true essence and
reclaim the wisdom and knowledgethat lies within each of us.

(17:41):
Unlearning involves questioningand challenging the beliefs and
narratives that no longer serveour highest good.
It requires us to examine ourthoughts, emotions and behaviors
with honesty and compassion, recognizing that healing and
growth often requires us to stepoutside of our comfort zone and

(18:04):
confront parts of ourselvesthat we may have long avoided or
suppressed.
As we release old patterns andconditioning, we create space
for new insight and for newpossibilities to emerge.
We reconnect with the truth ofwho we are eternal beings of

(18:24):
love and light, capable ofcreating our own reality and
living a life of joy, purposeand fulfillment.
The journey of unlearning canfeel overwhelming at times, but
it is also deeply empowering andtransformative.
With each layer we shed, wecome closer to aligning with our

(18:46):
authentic selves and embodyingthe highest expression of our
being.
We reclaim our power andremember that we are the
creators of our own destiny, capable of shaping our lives in
alignment with our deepestdesires and intentions, and
knowing that we are here toexperience joy explains why joy

(19:10):
feels so good.
It explains why I get thatshimmery gold feeling in my
chest when I'm grateful or whenmy intuition is guiding me.
It's all source energy.
It's me remembering why I'mhere.
It's the acknowledgement of theconnections that I'm making
between the physical andnon-physical world.

(19:33):
Throughout the creation of thisepisode from the initial idea to
scripting, recording andediting I remained tapped into
this joyful energy, that tinglysensation of joy pulsing through
me, kind of like the feeling ofgoosebumps.
And on that positive note Iwill end the episode here.

(20:00):
Thank you so much for tuning into my fifth episode of season
two.
We've only just begun toscratch the surface of this
topic and I'm so excited tocontinue where we left off.
In the next episode I'll beexplaining to you the specific
practices that will help youraise your vibrations so that
you can begin to live in a stateof joy more often.

(20:24):
There are over 20 practicesdescribed in the book.
You'll be surprised by howsimple and effective the
processes are and how quicklythey will begin to change your
perspective.
In last week's episode I talkedbriefly about using a rampage of
appreciation as one of myspiritual self-care techniques.

(20:46):
That concept came from thisbook and I'm looking forward to
sharing it with you next week.
If you're not already doing so,be sure to add me on Instagram
and TikTok at balancebabypodcast, where I'll be posting short
videos to help deepen theconcepts I discuss on my podcast

(21:06):
, helping you apply the conceptsto your daily life.

ready to uplift each other, ready to experience all the joy
that this life has to offer us.
