Scott (00:52):
And I'm just going to go
out on the record and say this
is the only beer I'm going todrink tonight, because I got a
transfusion in the cup next tome.
I'm not feeling beer tonight, but I'm going to power through
this one and let's go.
But something, graham, what achampion.
(01:12):

(01:38):
small talk.
Email address, and this goesfor anybody that listens If you
want to chat, you want to answer, you want to ask us a question?
Email addressbaldguysonthebench at gmailcom.
Hit us up, ask us a question.
Ask if it never mind.
I was gonna say somethingreally rude, but anyhow, I'm not
don't be a dick, I'm not, I'mnot, I'm not.
Graham (01:59):
That's why I took it
back look, we want to hear from
you.
You got something to say.
You want to ask us shoot it,and if it's good enough, maybe
we'll post it on the episode, sowe'll see what happens.
Yeah.
Scott (02:14):
But the main thing is
these people across the country.
Let us know how you found us.
We're intrigued, we want toknow, we want to know.
But anyhow, enough about that,graham.
How was your weekend?
I mean, we know your weekend isWednesday and Thursday, but you
know how was your weekendSaturday and Sunday?
(02:36):
You know, blah, blah, blah,blah.
Graham (02:38):
Right, no, no, no.
Um.
Well, my quote unquote weekenda few days ago it was pretty
good, just relaxed, um, caughtup on.
Quote unquote weekend a fewdays ago was pretty good, just
relaxed, um, caught up on somethings that I do around the
house, uh.
But the quote unquote everyoneelse's weekend, uh, I basically
worked and, boy, let me tell you, got my ass kicked and um, it
(02:59):
was.
I went.
I can't say it was fun, themoney was nice, but, um, I mean
it was a brutal day today.
I mean it was sunny out it saysit was supposed to be 74, but
that wind was whipping out onthe course.
Today it was freezing.
I don't know how those peopleplayed, but you know, had a good
shift today.
Yesterday was good, but otherthan that, watched a little G on
(03:21):
the TV, got a littledisappointed, but it is what it
is.
What about you?
How was your weekend?
Scott (03:28):
A lot of the same Worked
yesterday, played a little golf
Crazy Finally getting out on thegolf course it was 74 degrees
and then now it's 30.
So welcome to SoutheastVirginia in March.
You know, just give it an hourand the weather's going to
change.
But went out last night forBuddy's birthday, buddy's wife's
(03:54):
birthday and Ava had a ringdance.
So we had a bunch of you knowgirls over here and their dates
hanging out before the dance andit was cool.
It's like I was talking to TPlast night.
We were talking about it and Isent him a picture and he was
like God, where's the time gone?
And I'm like yeah, right.
And I'm like she's a junior,like it's March this time next
(04:21):
year.
It's almost over, dude for highschool, I mean.
Graham (04:25):
Bro dude for high school
, I mean Bro newsflash.
Yeah, You're turning 47.
Scott (04:31):
That's not the crazy
thing.
The crazy thing is she'sturning 17.
Announcer (04:36):
I know, I know.
Graham (04:37):
In three weeks.
I mean I remember In threeweeks, I know.
I mean I remember when I couldhold her in my hand and see when
she was a baby.
Scott (04:46):
Yeah, it's crazy, it's
weird, I mean I don't know, but
you know it's nuts, but anyhowit was a good weekend.
Watched some golf, you know, chatted with our boy Romano, who
caddies for Fowler, a littlebit over the weekend We'll get
into that in a few minutes.
But other than that, went overto my sister-in-law's house
(05:07):
tonight for my niece's birthdayand you know, came home, got the
nights on, thank God, we got anearly game, not a 10 o'clock
start, but and getting ready fortonight with you.
Other than that, you know, that's about it Off tomorrow,
pretty pumped about that, andthat's about it off tomorrow,
pretty pumped about that.
And uh, that's it.
So let's just, I mean, go aheadand, I guess, jump right into
(05:31):
what used to be called the hondaclassic, which is, you know,
now the pga tour cognizantclassic, I don't know whatever
how many times you have topractice that before you just
say that correctly?
it took me about 12 times tolook it up on the PGA Tour app
to learn how to spell it for thenotes.
I could say it, I just couldn'tspell it.
(05:51):
So you know, I don't know.
Graham (05:59):
Before we even get into
it.
Scott (06:01):
You know, last week I hit
what I thought was a no-brainer
bet, graham and I hit it, andthat was Steven Yeager, top 20,
right, yeah, top 20.
Hit it.
So we're walking into this weekat PGA National.
I'm like Graham, I got a greatfeeling, bro.
(06:22):
Lowry Daniel Berger, top 20.
They're both plus money.
Graham's like how confident areyou?
And I'm like, well, I'm reallyconfident on Berger and I'm
about 85% confidence on Lowry.
Well, berger goes out.
What did he shoot?
Seven, eight under the firstday.
Like we're like let's go.
(06:43):
Yeah.
Lowry's like four or five under.
I mean, the scoring wasridiculous.
The first round, I mean Knapp59.
Thanks for playing Right.
First ever round under 60 inthe state of Florida, which,
graham, I had to prove to himbecause he didn't think that was
real.
We're not even getting intothat at all.
Graham (07:06):
But hold on a second.
We're not getting into it, butjust as an overall thing.
Isn't that surprising to you?
Scott (07:14):
Not really Think about
the courses they play in Florida
.
They're not easy, fair, they'renot playing PGA West, arnold
Palmer.
Announcer (07:23):
Yeah when your boy
here is hitting five irons into
par fives.
If I'm hitting a five iron, they're hitting nines.
Scott (07:28):
Okay.
Announcer (07:29):
All right, fair point
they are, they play Doral.
Scott (07:32):
They play Bay Hill, they
play PGA National, tpc, sawgrass
, you know but Right, and thedude had a putt for 58.
I know, right, and he dude hada putt for 58.
I know right, and he missedlike a 12-footer on 17.
I mean stud.
Graham (07:52):
I mean, what a round of
golf, dude.
Scott (07:54):
That's all I can say.
Graham (07:55):
His misses, the very few
that he had.
I mean he was burning thoseedges, yeah, I mean he was
fighting.
Scott (08:01):
It was sick.
It was sick, but you know.
Back to, we'll get into thebetting part.
I don't know Whatever we pushed.
That's all I'm going to say.
Thanks a lot.
Daniel Berger, the one person wedidn't think we had to worry
about going into today becauseyou're sitting there in seventh
place, lowry was what?
34th, going into today.
(08:21):
35th, yeah, goes going intotoday.
35th, yeah, goes out early, shoots four under.
Thanks for playing.
Top 20, is it?
And then Berger decides he'sgoing to go out and shoot two
over on the back.
Nine to finish 25th and thanksfor playing.
We push our bets, but you know, that's why it's called betting.
It's not guaranteed Facts,unfortunately.
(08:42):
But, dude, I don't know aboutyou, I don't know if you got to
watch it live, but there's thisnew thing that happened a couple
years ago, called the pga touryou, where they automatically
get their pga tour card andLudwig was the first person to
(09:03):
ever get it and it goes bypoints, by college wins, by
national amateur tournaments, bytop finishes, by making a cut
when you qualify for a PGA Tourevent, yada, yada, yada.
Right, you get your tour card.
Luke Clanton, all he had to dowas make the cut at the American
Express Championship in PalmSprings, had a putt to make the
(09:27):
cut on the last hole, missed it,missed the cut, didn't get his
tour card.
Got in this week.
Make a cut.
And he's a player at FloridaState Make the cut, you get your
tour card.
Well, not only does he make thecut, dude, he finishes tied for
18thth, but he makes birdie onhis 36th hole.
(09:48):
To finish, I think he was eightunder through two days.
I mean, are you kidding me?
This is a college player.
Dude's a stud.
We've talked about him numeroustimes, but to see the emotion
as he walked off the green andhis whole family was there was
so awesome to me.
It's why I love it's.
(10:10):
Part of golf that is amazing tome is to see the emotion, cause
it's yeah, it's not a teamsport, but you got a team behind
you.
You know you got your mom andyour dad that drove you around
to a million junior tournaments,right.
Announcer (10:24):
I got a coach you.
Scott (10:26):
You know it's just
amazing, but it's pretty amazing
.
It's awesome.
Dude's got his tour card.
So if he turns pro at the endof he said at the end of the
college season he might turn proand he might not, but he still
has the option.
If he goes back for his lastyear, he has the option to get
his tour card when he finisheshis senior season.
That's cool, at least it'samazing, dude.
(10:51):
Dude can just flat play somegolf.
Wow, wow, ain't mad at that.
He got a little crooked off thetee today.
The course firmed up, got alittle windier.
We saw what happened to our boyfowler couldn't hit a fairway.
He was, his putter was savinghim on the front nine and then
it just, you know, you got tohit a fairway when the greens
(11:13):
are that fast and and firm.
Yeah, and he couldn't.
So you know, still solid finish, you know, tied, for I think he
was tied for 18 too.
Um, but this dude Highsmith Imean goes out and shoots 700 a
day.
He was 110 to 1 to win thetournament.
Dude, before it started, whoDude?
(11:37):
I listened to his interviewafter and his mom was on the way
that was going to leave todayto fly home and he goes Mom,
what if I go out?
And you know he was a lot back?
He goes what if I go out andshoot five under on the front?
You're still going to leave.
Well, thank God she didn't youknow?
Yeah right, his mom's an avidgolfer and he actually said in
(11:59):
his interview that the day hewas born his mom hit golf balls.
What I love it, dude Love itthe day he was born, moms was
hitting balls Love it.
What can you say to that Right,Pretty amazing.
(12:22):
Now he gets to play at Augusta.
You know pretty sick, Prettysick I.
He gets to play at Augusta.
You know pretty sick, Prettysick.
Graham (12:28):
I mean not bad.
Scott (12:31):
Nice day's work.
I just wish he'd change hischoice of hats Because I mean,
come on, bro, the bucket hatthing.
I mean it's cool if you're JoelDamon, it's not even a bucket
hat.
It's that big-ass sun hat I mean.
Crocodile Dundee said can I getone of those?
But whatever, not sure ifyou're familiar with this.
(12:54):
Tomorrow Seminole, the amazinggolf club down in Florida where
all these tour guys are members.
Tomorrow's the annual promember event and a lot of people
say and this is weird becauseit's not an official event A lot
of people say this has the bestfield in golf.
Okay.
Graham (13:17):
That's not a major Maybe
even majors.
Scott (13:22):
Wow, dude.
Graham (13:23):
That's a statement.
Scott (13:23):
People that aren't
exempted to the majors are
playing in this thing and Idon't know if you've seen t
times.
I don't know if you've seenwho's playing.
Uh, I mean tigers playing withseth wall, the ceo of the pga of
america.
Tom brady's playing.
I mean you name, of course youname the tour player.
He's playing, right, but um,I'll send it over to you.
(13:47):
I did a screenshot.
I meant to send it to youearlier, but it's just got their
t times on it, um, but anyhow,it's a pretty big deal.
It's an annual thing.
I just wish they allow peopleout there.
Only members are allowed towatch, obviously, seminole being
the exclusive place it is.
Take a look.
Announcer (14:05):
I just texted it to
you.
Scott (14:06):
It's pretty crazy.
Rory's playing with his dad.
I mean, it's a field bro.
Graham (14:14):
I mean a buddy of mine
that I used to caddy with back
in Manhattan Woods.
He caddies down at Seminoleduring the offseason.
His winter is down there, sohe's been at Medalist and then
now he's over at Seminole duringthe off season.
Yeah, his, you know, his winteris down there, so he's he's
been at medalist and then nowhe's over at Seminole.
I mean, you know, not a bad, yeah, two clubs to work for
Right.
Scott (14:31):
Exactly.
But speaking of Tiger, word onthe street is he'll be playing
at the players championship in acouple of weeks.
Graham (14:42):
Hey, and he needs a
little, needs a little tune-up a
little swing oil, for you knowit's coming a little later.
Scott (14:48):
You know what I'm saying
and here's what I was going to.
I've been waiting to tell you.
You know why he's playing atTPC.
This is the last year he'sexempt to play in that
tournament.
Graham (15:03):
Holy shit, dude, it's
tiger.
Freaking woods, bro.
Who's not giving him anexemption if he made a call it's
tiger I'd like to see the turn.
Scott (15:15):
I'd love to see the
tournament organizer who has the
balls when I read to be likenah, like I was telling you
earlier, I'm like I'm going tosay something that I read today
that I never thought I wouldever read in my life, and that
is that Tiger's not exempt intoa golf tournament and he's not.
Announcer (15:34):
Oh, my God, right,
he's not.
Scott (15:40):
Mind-blowing dude.
I was talking to my dad and I'mlike he's like, I'm sorry, what
did you just say?
Wild, wild as shit, but keepingit on the tiger thing, did you
see?
You know, his daughter won thestate, the florida state high
(16:04):
school soccer championship, lastnight, did you?
No, I did not.
Oh, dude, there's something Idon't know who put it out there
but they said compare these twopictures and it's tiger.
After he made the last putt in2019 to win the masters, where
he's like this and.
(16:24):
And then, as the clock struckzero, when his daughter won this
high school state championshipand he's in the same pose, dude,
it was tear jerking.
And then, as he does it, he'slike right in the middle of all
the soccer moms and soccer dadsand everybody, and the clock
(16:45):
strikes zero and there's video.
And he's like right in themiddle all the soccer moms and
soccer dads and everybody, andthe clock strikes zero and
there's video.
And he's like right in themiddle, high five and everybody.
It's so awesome.
Like we said, when Charlie madethe hole in one, we got to see
tiger be a dad that we never gotto see.
We got to see it again.
Graham (17:01):
Yeah, yeah, no, you're
right, it's.
It makes sense.
It was awesome dude.
Awesome people are just people.
I mean obviously some are yeah,I agree, but it's.
Scott (17:15):
You know, when tiger was
the dominant tiger, we never got
to see anything like that.
We got to see him hug his.
We got to see him hug his dad.
We got to see him hug moms, buthe was so off the radar.
The older Tiger we're seeingthe personality of Tiger.
(17:35):
You know what I mean?
Does that make sense?
Oh, 100%, but it was trulyamazing.
It was awesome.
You could just see how the joyin his face when you know it was
cool and right in the middle ofeverybody, just high five at
them.
You know it was sick.
Imagine being a kid on you know, a parent and your kids on
tiger, you're like that's mymotherfucker, we're high five
(17:57):
and we just won the statechampionships.
Let's go, tiger.
Tiger, what you buying us todrink tonight?
Graham (18:04):
Yeah, right, what you
getting us?
We're going out for pizzaeveryone.
Scott (18:10):
Yeah, it's your
restaurant, bro.
Yeah, right, but I don't know.
Back to Fowler and romance.
Fowler played his dick off dudefor three days.
You know, in romance, fowlerplayed his dick off dude for
three days, Didn't have his bestyesterday and still grinded on
around, uh, under par round.
(18:30):
You know his games on the rightside.
You know, talking to romance, you saw it.
I was like the putting strokesback.
It looks like he's not thinkingabout it anymore and he was
rolling the shit out of it dude,it was, it was awesome.
And he was rolling the shit outof it, dude, it was awesome.
And you know he just didn't hitfairways today.
And, like I said earlier, youknow the course got firm, the
(18:52):
wind started blowing and youknow you had to hit fairways.
Graham (18:53):
But I don't know.
That's one thing about golfhitting fairways.
Scott (18:58):
It's you know kind of
important I mean not the most,
but Unless you're playing inPalm Springs or the waste
management, where the roughs youknow that deep I mean.
But yeah.
You know it's what it is.
So Bay Hill's up next, dude.
Announcer (19:18):
Arnie's.
Scott (19:18):
Place Yep, and word came
out the other day, fowler and
Speieth notified they are notgetting sponsor exemptions into
the event.
What, instead?
I forget the dude's name.
That's how much this irritatesthe living out of me, a Canadian
(19:42):
dude.
And then Arnold Palmer'sgrandson, sam Saunders' best
friend, grew up a member at BayHill and he got the other
exemption.
All right, let me ask onequestion.
We've talked about it for weeksRatings on golfer down.
You're going to deny two of themost popular people on tour and
(20:09):
exemption for Tweedledee andTweedledum that I literally
texted you their names two daysago and don't even remember.
And I'm a golf pro that makes aliving in the game.
Who dot, dot, dot, dot dotcares?
Graham (20:23):
What do we like to say?
Make it make sense.
Scott (20:27):
I don't know, I don't get
it.
I don't get it Granted.
Yeah, did they have shittyyears last year?
Yeah, jordan was hurt, rickywas playing bad, whatever, but
they're still names.
They still draw people Back.
When back?
I'll never forget.
Joey Scovern that now cutcaddies for Ludwig when he was
(20:51):
caddying for Rick.
I'll never forget tailgating ata Charger game.
And he goes, scott.
It's amazing because Rick backthen has the third biggest
gallery of anybody ObviouslyTiger, obviously Phil, he goes.
But then Rick had the thirdbiggest gallery of anybody
obviously tiger, obviously Phil,he goes.
But then Rick had the thirdbiggest and he goes.
The thing about Rick is he hadall walks of life.
He had the little kids walkingaround with the flat bills, he
(21:15):
said, and he said he had the youknow 20 year old girls, cause
he's, you know, leonardoDiCaprio, he goes.
And then he had the old ladiesbecause they're like, oh, ricky,
he's so cute.
Joe was like he had all walksof life, you know, yeah, and him
and Arnie were like this dude, rick and Arnie were like that.
(21:40):
Just to even say that is prettyfucking cool, you think I mean,
why do you think puma does thearnold palmer collection with
the umbrellas and stuff all over?
Because of rick's relationshipwith the king dude?
(22:00):
I don't know.
Anyhow, it's a fun event.
Bay Hill, you know ballstriking.
Here we go Golf course hard asshit.
But I don't know, man I'm, I'mbummed for romance, I'm bummed
for him.
But you know, let's get itgoing.
I mean, they got some momentumtoday.
(22:20):
T shots, let them down.
You know, today, whatever it is, what it is, it's golf.
I mean, talk about TaylorMontgomery leading the golf
tournament yesterday and thenmakes quad on 15.
Right, not only did he makequad, my guy shot three under
with a quad on his scorecard.
Graham (22:48):
Let that sink in folks.
Scott (22:49):
Three under with four
over on one hole, and then Knapp
dude Knapp's cruising rightalong, and then he makes dub
today on 11.
He gone.
Golf is not easy.
Graham (23:11):
No At all.
It is definitely not.
Not easy.
I don't know what you got.
Come on.
That's why Tiger's the man.
Scott (23:21):
Yeah, but he's not exempt
.
What Could you imagine?
I I wish you could have seen myface when I'm reading that and
I'm going what we're talkingabout?
The tiger right, like we're nottalking about, like kitty, cat
or something.
We're like talking about tigerright, like the tiger eldrick,
(23:41):
like we're talking about him, ortony the tiger, yeah, we're
talking about.
I'm like wait what?
But I mean it makes sense Idon't know makes sense on paper,
it don't make sense in yourbrain.
Graham (23:56):
I can tell you that yeah
, I mean, I thought they were
supposed to be getting theviewers, not exactly that's.
Scott (24:04):
That's the thing.
It's not tpc's rules, it's, youknow, pga tours rules, how
you're exempt for events and howlong you get an exemption for
wins and this, and that I meanyou won the masters in 19, so I
think you get a five-yearexemption.
Yeah, maybe, I don't know, butI don't know.
(24:25):
It's weird, doesn't make senseat all.
So as we wrap up, golf thesport we love to talk about a
lot the NFL.
They started their combine thisweek, yes, sir, in Indianapolis
.
Combine this week, yes, sir, inIndianapolis.
(24:51):
And you know something I'venever really dug in to and done
a lot of research on is theCombine right?
I don't know why.
I mean, I understand thepurpose of it, purpose of it,
but from the podcast I've beenlistening to this year about the
combine, everybody's basicallysaid the same thing and that is
(25:16):
the combine.
The focus has kind of changedfrom workouts you know, which
they all do to the interviewprocess.
They want to know thepersonality of the players.
Obviously, you want to knowyour drafting, especially in the
first round that you'respending millions of dollars on
and each team you only get 15minutes with each person.
(25:38):
Yeah, it's crazy.
Dude, they got a lot of people Iknow, and to me, what I've
taken away from everything thatI've learned this year and I
could be totally wrong is thecombine benefits more of the
(26:00):
players in the later rounds.
Yes, Does that make sense?
100%?
You know the big guys.
They're going to be in thefirst round.
You know if you've noticed thenumber one and number two ranked
quarterbacks coming out thisyear.
(26:20):
You know Cam, ward and sanders.
They didn't even throw.
And when I were talking about itearlier, why not?
Well, it makes sense becauseafter the combine, all these
universities have their whatthey call their pro days.
So as a quarterback, you eithergo to the combine and you throw
to these receivers you have nocommunication skills with, or
(26:44):
they don't know your style andthey don't catch the ball.
Is that your fault as a passer?
No, but it's not a completion.
Or then you throw at youruniversity where you're throwing
to your wide receivers you'vehad a connection with for x
amount of years.
Makes sense to me?
You could argue both things.
(27:04):
And you said to me earlier yeah, but when they go to the NFL
they're going to be throwing theplayers.
Yeah, but they also have thisthing called an off season, OTAs
, rookie mini camps.
You know by the time it matters.
They know what's going on.
Graham (27:22):
Yeah, but I mean
devil's's advocate, don't you
think throwing people they don'tknow, wouldn't that you know?
I mean, yeah, it's not, as Idon't say as great, but it's
just like yo, if you can make itwork with people you don't know
, that should help your stock.
Scott (27:37):
I don't disagree with you
at all, yeah, but and last
night when we were outcelebrating Billy's wife
Pascal's birthday, they had iton the TV at the bar and Billy
looks at me and he goes this isso stupid, we're watching people
run the 40.
And I'm like I agree.
(27:59):
And he goes why don't they putthese dudes in pads?
They don't play football likethis.
Let's see them run the 40 inpads.
And I'm like you got a greatpoint.
Then I start thinking about myboy from the first episode that
my daughter threw up in hishouse TD.
You know what his 40 time wasat the combine as a running back
(28:24):
.
Not good, it was like 4-6.
That's why he was a sixth-roundpick.
But you know what?
How'd that work out?
Hall of Fame.
Graham (28:34):
Hey, things work out for
a reason, brah.
Scott (28:40):
You know I understand the
linemen and this, and that I
mean when you're going to see anoffensive lineman run 40 yards
down the field, you're notbecause you're running backs.
You're running backs 20 yardsin front of him.
Homeboys getting oxygen on thesideline.
Graham (29:01):
This isn't the eighties,
bro, this is the NFL Off?
Scott (29:07):
offensive linemen are
blocking downfield.
I'm not saying they're notblocking downfield, I'm just
saying they're not blocking 40yards downfield in a stop to
yeah, running straight.
No, I like the drills wherethey're going around cones and
doing this and doing that.
That's fun, you know.
(29:28):
That's fun to watch for me, butI don't know.
Another thing that I took fromall the podcasts, the three and
out.
If you don't listen to threeand out podcasts, dude, you're
not educating yourself aboutfootball.
It's awesome, it's really good,yeah, no, it.
Educating yourself aboutfootball it's awesome, it's
really good, yeah, no it's agood podcast.
It's a good podcast and dude oneof their sponsors sold me.
(29:48):
I like to help out people thatI like their podcasts and buy
shit.
Our first sponsor we're goingto get on here Mando Deodorant.
Dude my shit is, when you got a14 year old son, that that
stinks.
Mando deodorant bro.
(30:11):
Go on, mando, get the starterpack.
Promo code is john.
I'm helping you out here, john, here, buddy.
You know three and I'll podcast.
I'm helping you out here, john.
Here, buddy you knowthree-an-hour podcast.
I'm helping you look better thanyou already look.
Dude starter pack.
You get spray deodorant.
You get a bar, you get somebody wash.
You even get some wipes, likeyou're at the gym and you stink.
(30:33):
You got to go to work.
Dude, 72-hour protection yeah, they have, bro.
I bought some.
I was a sucker.
Whatever.
Shit's legit bro.
No aluminum free.
That's a new thing, I guess now.
But let's go.
Graham (30:47):
Folks, he's not even.
We're not even getting paid forthis.
We have no copy.
I know.
Scott (30:50):
We have no script.
Graham (30:51):
He's just pulling up at
a door, and it's funny.
You do know they're on likeSportsCenter they, I don't care,
you've never noticed theircommercials.
Scott (31:00):
I support the things that
entertain me.
Graham (31:04):
I'm just saying they're
on the channels that you watch.
Scott (31:08):
That's why I find it
hilarious that whatever In a
commercial you think I'm payingattention.
I'm like every other mothereffer in the world.
I'm on my phone.
Yeah, I mean I ain't watchingno goddamn commercial.
Graham (31:24):
So when you're in the
car got nowhere to go, you got
nothing else to do except hearthat commercial.
You got to know how to helpyour 14 year old son be less
stinky got it anyhow, combine.
Scott (31:35):
Another thing about the
combine that I've I learned that
I was getting into before.
I gave mando a free promo.
You're welcome, can you pay me?
Announcer (31:44):
Yeah, with that
Patreon dude.
Scott (31:46):
hit that, hit that.
Bald guys on the bench at Gmailemail Mando.
It's more.
It's all the GMs, all theagents.
You know this is where businessis getting done.
You know what happens in acouple of weeks free agency.
And we saw what happened withStafford.
All the drama.
You got permission to go talkto whoever you want.
(32:07):
Get a trade.
Dude.
The Raiders offered him almosta hundo guaranteed and he said
no, came back to the Rams.
All that drama with Stafford Doyou blame him?
No, absolutely not.
But all that drama staff Do youblame him?
No, absolutely not.
But all that drama is bullshit.
My wife doesn't like theyounger players.
Yada, yada, yada, yada.
(32:29):
And then he comes back to theRams.
Is it the best place forStafford?
Duh, we all knew that Right.
But you know he's back with theRams.
Now they're saying Cooper Cupmight be cut if they can't trade
him.
Well, you're not trading himwith that salary.
Nobody's taking that up, takingthat salary cap on.
(32:51):
At least, I don't think so.
I don't know.
I don't think he's.
I mean, when they won the SuperBowl, yeah, that was an amazing
year, but you know whatever.
Then last night I'm at the barDude Niners got rid of Debo to
(33:12):
Washington.
Graham (33:14):
Dude the amount of ham
sandwiches that have been given
out.
Announcer (33:17):
Yeah, but dude For
player acquisitions yeah they're
trying to cut salary.
Scott (33:23):
I understand.
Everybody's like a fifth roundpick for Debo.
Yeah, they're cutting salary.
Okay, they just got 18 mil offtheir books.
Washington's like number two insalary cap this year and it's
only for one year guaranteed.
(33:43):
Do I think Washington is goingto extend him?
I hope so, but even if theydon't think about it, they only
gave up a fifth round pick.
Where did Washington finishtheir season in the NFC
championship?
What are they picking?
29?
Yeah, that's a late pick, youknow.
Yeah, not saying it couldn't'sa late pick.
(34:04):
You know.
Yeah, not saying it couldn't bea future stud, but I'm saying,
you know, debo paired with scaryTerry, jane, daniels, cliff.
Graham (34:21):
That's going to be a fun
offense.
Scott (34:22):
Yeah, if he can hold onto
the ball, if you can say
healthy, yeah, right.
And something I totally forgotabout the cornerback that now
plays for the eagles, that usedto play for the lions.
They had some beef and sometwitter exchanges back in the
day about when he was callingDebo a running back playing wide
(34:44):
receiver and calling him outabout not being able to run
routes and this and that.
Well, he said something againlast night.
I wish I would havescreenshotted it.
Dang it, it was awesome.
They're already battling it out, and here you go.
They're already battling it out, and here you go.
But now that Washington adds himnext to Scary Terry, word on
(35:09):
the street is they're going tocut Eckler to get younger at the
running back position to pairup with Bryan Robinson.
It's time to work on defense, you know, because defense is
what let them down against theEagles and turnovers.
Right, I mean sorry, forgotabout that part.
You know, because defense iswhat let them down against the
Eagles and they and turnovers.
Right, I mean sorry, forgotabout that part but I mean it is
(35:31):
what it is.
Yeah, allen requested a tradefrom the Redskins.
They're big time defensive endor defensive lineman.
I guess he's owed 16, 17.
He was in the original deal forDebo and Washington wouldn't
take on any of his salary, sothat got nixed.
Graham (35:52):
But look, the official
year hasn't started yet.
Scott (35:56):
Right.
Graham (35:57):
Cause it was at March
15th right Something like that.
At this point it's justeverything is just so much
speculation.
Speculation, Obviously, somemoves have been made, yes, but
until actual things happen, it'sjust like I mean, yeah, Is it
exciting?
Because there's nothing else.
I don't want to say nothingelse, but because we're such big
(36:18):
football fans that it's justlike, oh, let's just hear
anything we can hear aboutpossible news and let's just get
excited about it, which isgreat.
But then you're just like allright, a day later it's like, oh
no, that's water under thebridge, Like this whole Stafford
thing.
It's like, thanks for nothing.
Yeah, you texted me after ithappened.
Scott (36:34):
You're like thanks for
all that drama or something like
that.
Graham (36:38):
Yeah, and the craziest
part is the league would have
been so different, the shifts inhow teams would have drafted,
where players would have gone.
Like imagine if Stafford wentsomewhere, then that would have
changed.
Where Russ wouldn't, that wouldhave changed.
Where Rodgers went, that wouldhave changed what teams are
(37:01):
drafting the quarterbacks wherethey're drafting at.
You know what I mean.
Like there's pieces toeverything and you're just like,
well, if he goes and thishappens, and now that he doesn't
, it's just like all right.
I guess it's just back to whatwe thought was going to happen
or what it could be, you know, and it's just like all right,
what's the next domino to fall?
So I'm just you know, don'ttickle us, bro.
(37:24):
I'm tired of getting tickled, Ijust want.
Scott (37:31):
See, I like the tickle,
I'm sure you do.
I like it because you neverknow what's going to happen.
You know, my team there's not alot of tickling because we have
a quarterback.
My team the tickle is okay, free agency, who are we going to
go after?
Your team, there's a big-asstickle and it's that position
(37:57):
that touches the ball every timecalled the quarterback, right,
I mean?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
You have one quarterback onyour roster right now, right,
and that's the third.
And who is that?
I don't even know what it is.
I'm not being a smart ass, I'mjust yeah.
Graham (38:16):
I feel like I just
smacked my own self.
It's the kid from.
Scott (38:21):
Sorry.
Graham (38:26):
I wasn't trying to.
Who is the kid's name?
I can't even tell you I'vedrawn a blank right now.
Scott (38:29):
This is terrible, I feel
yeah, I don't know what you guys
are gonna do it's gonna it do.
Graham (38:35):
I'm telling you it.
We look, we have glaring needsat defensive line.
So the fact that we're going todouble, like my point is this
the quarterback that we wouldeven consider taking in the
draft is not going to, is goingto go at a point where we, or
(38:57):
where I would not want to takehim, and where is that and who
are you talking?
Announcer (39:02):
about.
Graham (39:05):
Okay, when do you think
the kid from Old Miss is going?
Where do you think the kid fromWhere's Ewers going?
Where's the kid?
I mean, are we talking day two?
I think Day three?
Dark's going to go day two.
Okay, that's fine, Folks.
Day two is still second andthird round.
Steelers are not using thesecond round pick On a
(39:25):
quarterback.
They learned from the KennyPickett experience.
I promise you that.
And look, they'll sign Fields.
They'll get another backup Dude.
We can bring back Mason Rudolphand have him be our second
string.
I'm just saying there arethings to do.
Look, Pittsburgh is not.
I mean, I hate to say this, butlike Graham, it's the most
(39:51):
important position on your team.
Which quarterback in this draftis going to lead us to the Super
Bowl?
Scott (39:57):
Go ahead, I'm not saying
there is one, but you're arguing
you don't want to take aquarterback in the second round.
Graham (40:08):
No, I'd rather pay
Fields and get two stud
defensive tackles.
Bro, we couldn't stop the run.
Scott (40:16):
I'm not saying you're
wrong At all.
I'm just saying if Fields goessomewhere else, Russ goes
somewhere else he's not, we'regoing to keep one of them.
Graham (40:26):
I would think they want
to keep Fields because he was
going to be.
He'd be cheaper.
You would think how muchinterest I mean, let's be real
how much interest does Fieldsreally have as a starter In your
opinion?
Scott (40:40):
percentage wise, okay, so
two, three teams yeah I'm just
saying like look at, look atwhat baker did last year tampa,
let him go go talk as a freeagent.
Drove up the price, yeah, andcame back, and he came back, but
(41:01):
he drove up the price, yeah, and came back and he came back,
but he drove up the price.
Graham (41:04):
I'm not saying I'm not I
agree with you, but Baker and
Justin Fields are two completelydifferent quarterbacks.
A hundred thousand percent, Imean Baker proved more in that
time, Marginally more.
Scott (41:20):
Hey Fields was four and
two as a starter.
Graham (41:23):
I hate when people say
that I mean, yeah, we were, but
if you watch the gameplay you'dbe like that's the ugliest 4-2
I've ever seen.
So I mean, obviously it allcomes down to the wins and
losses obviously but you want toget blown out, like the Chiefs,
(41:45):
or you want to keep it close, like their matchup three years
ago, where it comes down to thelast game.
You know what I mean Same teams, two completely different
outcomes, and that's just how Ifeel that our team was.
And it's just like, when youcan't stop the run puts presser
(42:07):
on the back end.
You know, jpj got hurt forthose couple of games, you know.
And plus, when you can't stopthe run, then the back end gets
hurt.
It's just like TJ wasn'tgetting a lot of pressure.
So it's just like, if you dudethe amount of times the
Steelers' defense was on likesecond and three yeah, that's
(42:28):
not During the regular seasonthat sucks.
Third and three, third and two.
Yeah, you can't get off thefield that way, bro.
You know what I mean.
And it's just like most oftheir.
Scott (42:39):
Especially when they're
gashing you running the ball,
because now you.
Graham (42:42):
That's what I'm saying,
dude.
I love Cam Hayward, but he's 35years old.
Like we need to revamp theD-line.
Scott (42:49):
You know, I like where
our linebackers are at, I will
say this this is the draft torevamp the D-line.
Graham (42:56):
That's what I'm saying.
Scott (42:59):
So Remember what I said
to you last year Before the
season started about yourdefense, when everybody was
hyping the Steelers defense youjust got homeboy from the Ravens
I can't even think of his namethe middle linebacker Queen, and
I said if you guys average 20points a game, you're going to
go what?
12 and whatever.
Graham (43:22):
Well, guess what?
We went 10 and three and thenfinished, yeah, 10 and 10 and
seven.
So let's just say it is what itis when it comes to that.
So I, I feel you, but I justlike.
Pittsburgh won't say they're ina rebuild, but it's just, I
(43:45):
think they're a couple piecesaway.
Scott (43:47):
Right.
Graham (43:49):
Dude, if Pittsburgh
could have stopped the run,
that's what I'm saying.
If we keep fields and they stopthe run and, oh, I don't know,
our offensive line comes backhealthy, oh, we could have.
Dude, we didn't have our firstand second round pick play one
down last year.
I agree, you ever heard ofRoman Wilson?
Announcer (44:08):
Well, I know you have
because he's from your.
Graham (44:09):
Yeah, but that's what
I'm saying.
It's just like look, you got toplay with who you have and
who's available.
I get that.
Scott (44:18):
I'm just saying that with
the pieces coming back, my old
Boss you say, when we're goingon the golf course he's hitting
balls on the range and he goes.
You got to dance with the girlyou brought.
Announcer (44:29):
Exactly.
If you're hitting cuts, you'replaying a cut.
Graham (44:31):
It's just like.
I feel like we have the pieces.
It's just keep those pieceshealthy, add a couple more
pieces and if Fields look, ifFields can do what he did in the
first six games, I will betotally fine with that.
I hope his deep ball gets alittle bit better.
But, bro O-level will lookbetter.
Scott (44:51):
It will dude to the point
.
And I said this, I've said it amillion times okay, fields was
in a lose-lose situation.
Yes, he started off 4-2,.
Okay, Fields was in a lose-losesituation.
Yes, he started off 4-2,.
Okay.
But what's Fields doing inthose first six games in
training camp?
He's doing what he's doing this.
(45:12):
He's looking over his shoulder.
He's looking over his shoulder.
Graham (45:16):
I understand that, but
to be fair, go ahead, go ahead,
go ahead.
Scott (45:22):
He's going into every
practice.
He's going into every practice, every preseason game, every
game going.
I have to play perfect.
Graham (45:33):
Yes.
Scott (45:33):
Having to play perfect
versus going into a game, going
I can play free is a totallydifferent thing, and that is why
, when the Redskins didn'tre-sign Taylor, a lot of people
(45:54):
were pissed because, remember, they drafted Sam Howe and every
time Sam Howe was going to throwa pick, all the fans were going
to start doing what?
Chanting for Taylor because hewas the crowd favorite.
So, Russ, coming back healthy, having the Super Bowl win,
should have had two, but PeteCarroll was an idiot.
(46:14):
Russ, behind you, being hurt ismaking Fields, not play free.
Graham (46:25):
Yes, but the only thing
that I will say to all of what
you just said is this RussellWilson, if he doesn't strain his
calf in preseason or intraining camp, fields doesn't
even see the field.
He'd be the starter from dayone.
Fields doesn't even see thefield, he'd be the starter from
(46:48):
day one.
So, like, I get what you'resaying and look, obviously it
was great to have Fields there,it was great for him to do what
he did, but it's just like ifWilson doesn't tweak his calf,
he would have been the starterfrom the beginning and then none
of this looking over theshoulder thing would have been a
thing.
So I, I think, which makes itso much more difficult to assess
(47:09):
the situation of those two, which is why, obviously, they
can't bring them both back, because number one, russell,
wants way too much money.
So, obviously, which is whykeeping fields would be the way
to go and obviously, seeing whatfields did in those six games,
yes, that looks good.
And yes, I do get what you sayabout Fields looking over his
shoulder and all this otherstuff.
(47:30):
But it's just like, if you're abackup, you know your role
right and by knowing your role, you know that you should.
I don't say you need to know, you're looking over your
shoulder, but as the number two.
How many times does the numbertwo come in and then the number
one comes back healthy anddoesn't come back?
(47:51):
Tom Brady, there's only Tom.
Scott (47:53):
Brady, he was pretty good
.
Graham (47:54):
Okay, oh, so the
greatest of all time.
Oh, I'm sorry he was the numbertwo.
The one time he was the numbertwo.
I I'm sorry, it was the numbertwo, I'm just saying Homeboy was
healthy.
Scott (48:02):
Homeboy was healthy for
the Super Bowl.
Tom Brady wasn't looking overhis shoulder, yeah well, that's
because Belichick wanted to runthe hot end.
And how about?
Let's don't forget, russellWilson started off the number
two In Seattle.
Matt Flynn, the one hit wonderfor green Bay, and the
(48:24):
meaningless game through forlike 7,000 yards in Seattle
gives him this massive contract.
Yeah.
Graham (48:32):
Did he start one game?
Scott (48:33):
I don't know, I knew you
were going to ask that I don't
know he didn't trust me.
Graham (48:38):
I know Jeff and I have
had this conversation.
He didn't.
Announcer (48:41):
Trust me.
I know, Jeff and I have hadthis conversation multiple times
.
Oh, that's right, jeff wouldknow that.
Graham (48:46):
Yeah, he's like that's
the last jersey I bought.
Fuck Matt Flynn, that son of abitch.
Scott (48:50):
Remember the game he
played for the Packers and he
threw like 7 million yards.
Graham (48:56):
Yeah, Dude, he had five
touchdowns Like he could
literally do no wrong.
He had like 400 plus yards andfive touchdowns Like he could
literally do no wrong.
Scott (49:02):
He had like 400 plus
yards and five touchdowns.
How about another fun one?
You get a touchdown.
How about another fun one?
Matt Castle for the Patriotswhen Brady got hurt and then the
Chiefs signed him, yeah.
Graham (49:12):
Look, folks, if you
haven't noticed, having a good
number two is pretty damnimportant.
I mean, hell ask the AtlantaFalcons, because they're in a
situation that they don't have achoice, Like they have to be in
the position that they're atright now.
They're going to start.
Announcer (49:35):
I'm like I almost
forgot his name Michael Penix.
Graham (49:37):
I know I was like wait,
what was his name?
They're going to start Penix, but the thing is all of Kirk
Cousins' money, it's allguaranteed.
So there's no point to cut him.
There's no point.
No one's going to trade for himand take on that salary.
So it's like what are theygoing to do?
Scott (49:52):
Well, they're going to
cut him.
Graham (49:53):
They have to keep him.
Scott (49:54):
No, they're like the Jets
.
Graham (49:54):
A team like the Giants
can sign Kirk to league minimum
just like the Steelers did withRuss, but if the dead money is
almost the same as what you'repaying him anyway and you have a
(50:14):
quality and you have him therewhy wouldn't you keep him?
You got to rip the Band-Aid offat some point.
Yeah, but then who's theirbackup?
Who got to?
Scott (50:24):
rip the Band-Aid off at
some point.
Graham (50:26):
Yeah, but then who's
their backup?
Who cares?
Rip the Band-Aid off?
Yeah, but yes, the Broncos didit.
How many quarterbacks startedin the league last year?
How many different quarterbacksstarted?
I don't know.
It was like 50, bro, andthere's only 32 teams.
I mean, if your number one goesdown, you're done.
That's what I'm saying.
(50:48):
Well, that's why having a goodnumber two is there.
That's what I'm saying.
It's worth it for them to keep.
I get what you're saying.
Scott (50:54):
I'm just saying they're
not keeping Cousins as their
number two with that cap hit.
Graham (51:00):
They're going to, I'll
going to, I'll gentleman's bet
you, right now, let's go Shot onthe episode.
Scott (51:05):
Kurt Cousins will not be
an Atlanta Falcon next year.
Graham (51:13):
This year coming up.
Yeah, no chance yeah.
Scott (51:17):
No.
Graham (51:17):
We better write this
down somewhere.
Scott (51:19):
Write it down to quote a
line in one of my favorite
movies, and that that is friday, when felicia comes up, I need
to borrow your car.
He's like no, and she's likeI'll remember that.
And he's like write it down.
Take a picture, I don't give afuck.
There you go, I don't care.
And if he does stay with theFalcons, I'll take a shot,
(51:44):
because that GM ain't going tobe there much longer.
Graham (51:47):
Everything I've been
hearing says they're probably
going to keep him.
So I mean A If I lose, I lose.
I think I'm going to win it's ashot, who cares?
Scott (51:55):
Something I read earlier
today you know who could be in
the sweepstakes for Sam Darnold.
Besides the obvious, what's theobvious, raiders.
Graham (52:07):
Raiders.
Pittsburgh Jets Giants the teamthat drafted him Seattle, the
Jets.
Scott (52:14):
Yeah, could you imagine
him going back there?
Not a bad spot, not a bad spot, not a bad spot.
Graham (52:27):
The thing.
All right, we've had thisdiscussion before on the podcast
, but let's just quickly go backto it.
What's more important Havingmore money or making more money,
or being in a system that youcan actually flourish and you
can do something in it?
Because he is doing diddlysquat until this past year and
(52:51):
obviously he's not going to staywith the team but he got
drafted by the jets.
Scott (52:54):
They had nothing.
Then he got.
Then he went to Carolina.
They had nothing.
Right, he went to the Niners.
He was their backup.
Purdy was the starter and thenthe Vikings signed him.
Jj McCarthy was supposed to bethe starter Got hurt.
Darnold came in Flourished.
Graham (53:16):
Yes, what I'm saying is
would you take less money to go
to a team that you know that youwould succeed better with?
Is what I'm saying.
Scott (53:24):
I don't know, because I
will never be in that situation
where people are throwing thatkind of money at me when I
already am set up for life.
You know he's already set upfor life.
I don't know, it's a hardquestion.
You've set up for life.
I don't know it's a hardquestion.
Me as a sports enthusiast andyou as a sports enthusiast.
(53:44):
We're both going to say I wantto win.
Oh, of course.
But I'm also, you know, neverbeen in a situation where I got
six teams offering me a shit tonof money.
Announcer (54:03):
Right.
Graham (54:07):
It's like do I want 40
from you or do I want 32 from
you?
Whether you're a better team ordo?
I want 28 from you.
It's something to think about.
Scott (54:16):
I mean he could succeed
as a Jet.
They got weapons, they got adefense.
Yes, I mean the Jets are betterjet.
Graham (54:21):
They got weapons, they
got a defense.
Yes, I mean, the Jets arebetter now than when he was
drafted.
100% Hands down For sure.
Scott (54:28):
But the Raiders, they're
a couple years away, I mean.
Graham (54:38):
I don't see him going.
Scott (54:40):
It makes sense because
he's young.
Graham (54:45):
He's yeah.
Scott (54:49):
But I could also see the
Raiders with their what are they
drafting?
Like eight, something like thatSeven or eight.
I could see them straight upgoing picking Jenty as a running
back and then coming back inthe second round and going Dart.
I've heard rumors of what'stheir other tight end's name
(55:14):
that they drafted before BowersMayer.
I've heard them dangling himout there.
Graham (55:21):
Yeah, dude, that's crazy
.
It's so crazy that you forgethe was the number one tight end
the previous two years ago.
Scott (55:28):
Now it's just like oh hey
, by the way I'm still good,
don't forget about me, and youalso I mean Josh Jacobs left
them.
They need a running back.
Yeah, genti would be solidthere.
Graham (55:42):
Aaron Jones could go
there.
He was only on a one year deal.
Yeah, Jinty would be solidthere.
Aaron Jones could go there.
He was only on a one-year deal.
There's backs Plus there's somany backs coming out.
That's what I'm saying.
Scott (55:50):
It's an amazing running
back for us, the speculation of
what can happen.
Graham (55:53):
That's why it's just.
Scott (55:56):
Like Billy said last
night and I think I told you I
was like dude how are theSteelers not going to extend
Najee?
I understand the, you know.
Is he up for the fifth year?
Announcer (56:08):
It's how much money
he wants.
Graham (56:10):
Is Najee they didn't pay
him Right.
Scott (56:12):
Fifth year was I was like
Billy's, like I'm not joking
around, he goes.
I really hope Najee goes to theChargers.
I think he could be a good fitthere and I'm like, I agree he
could be a great fit there Causehe's a he's a gap runner, not
his own runner, and yeah, I'mlike, but they're not going to
pay him that dude with thisdraft class.
(56:34):
This draft class is amazing forrunning backs.
I mean you got homeboy Gentry, but then you got the Hampton
dude, hampton from NorthCarolina, and then you got the
two studs from Ohio State.
Graham (56:50):
Yeah, I know, but each
year the salary cap keeps going
up.
If the money keeps going up,why can't they afford to pay the
running back?
How can one position keepgetting screwed?
Scott (57:01):
Because you have rookies
coming into the league having
great seasons.
Announcer (57:07):
Najee Harris.
He's an example, najee.
Scott (57:10):
He's had 1,000 yards
every season.
So why?
Because you have rookiesdominating.
Graham (57:19):
No, I get that, but my
point that's not where I was
going with this.
What I was going to say wasthis Just making it to the NFL,
is you're one of one of 500.
Like they, that's just makingthe NFL is God's gift.
Scott (57:37):
Yeah, right A hundred
percent.
Graham (57:39):
Now, that being said, if
it's God's gift just to make
the NFL to be the one guy, twoguys, are there even three guys
that make more than $10 millionas a running back, or are there
only two?
Scott (57:56):
Henry and Saquon.
Graham (58:00):
Exactly.
So now you're two of.
You're the only two.
Here's the question If you're ayoung kid, why would you choose
to play running back?
Scott (58:14):
It's so funny because
I've had this conversation all
the time with people.
Graham (58:19):
I mean, obviously, look,
having the opportunity to get
there or even leveraging it tocollege, and now with the NIL,
you can still set yourself up,that's fine and I get it.
But also with running back, theinjuries, I mean it's just like
I'm just thinking of it tomyself, where it's just like you
will still have the commitmentof people that will want to play
(58:40):
the position.
Yes, I get that.
I mean, obviously the game haschanged from what it was to what
it is now.
I get that.
But you would have to thinkpercentage wise, the numbers are
down and players that want tobe running backs versus I mean
shit just now, cause all thequarterbacks are so mobile.
It's just like.
I mean the builds of these guys.
I mean all the quarterbacks areso mobile, it's just like I
(59:01):
mean the builds of these guys.
I mean all the quarterbacks noware what like six, three, six,
four, two, oh five, and can runa four four, I'm sorry, like you
say, six, three, two, oh fiveyeah, I may do you know how big
josh allen is?
Scott (59:14):
do you know how big
justin herbert is?
Graham (59:17):
no, yeah, those two, but
how big is j, daniels?
Scott (59:21):
Well, he's not big.
Graham (59:24):
That's my point.
How big is who the kid?
I mean all the runners that arecoming out now, All those kids
are Maybe.
205 was a re.
I meant to say like 215.
220 tops for these quarterbacks.
Stand by you know these runningquarterbacks.
So I'm just saying, like it'sjust—.
Scott (59:45):
Yeah, cam Ward's 6'2" 220
.
Graham (59:49):
Yeah, okay, 220.
Scott (59:50):
So, 215.
Graham (59:51):
I misspoke, but I just—
Look, I'll say this I can't
wait—.
Scott (01:00:00):
Josh Allen's 6'5" 240.
Announcer (01:00:04):
Well, he's a big boy,
yeah, thanks.
Graham (01:00:06):
Or, as you like to say,
there's a tight end playing
quarterback.
Motherfucker, I didn't know.
A tight end can win the NFL MVP.
He shouldn't.
Scott (01:00:17):
Lamar should have won.
Announcer (01:00:18):
Shut the front.
Graham (01:00:19):
No, he should not have.
Okay, I mean, he did more withless.
That's the MVP.
He can't do a tush push, though, or do the tush push, but a
different side maybe, I don'tknow.
Don't do it.
What you think they're going todo, yo just think about it.
I know it's going to be a longnight.
(01:00:40):
I mean, we're talking about it.
Are we going to do a Draft DayLive episode, or what?
Scott (01:00:45):
We could.
Graham (01:00:46):
What do you?
Scott (01:00:46):
think it's going to be
long as shit.
Graham (01:00:49):
Well, we'll have to
throw in some other shit while
it's going.
I know, that's what I'm saying.
Are we going to have to justedit the minutes out?
I don't know.
Scott (01:00:56):
What we could do which
would make more sense is the
Steelers pick 21,.
The Chargers pick 22.
Graham (01:01:04):
Yeah, just don't want to
argue, we could start the
episode around pick 16.
Right, and then we could talkabout what happened prior, and
then it lead us up to thedowntime during Right.
Announcer (01:01:16):
I like that.
I like that I guess I don'tknow.
Graham (01:01:19):
Look, a lot's going to
happen, A lot is in the air.
Scott (01:01:23):
A free agency is going to
determine a lot.
Graham (01:01:27):
Oh, oh, 100%.
That's what I'm saying.
Scott (01:01:31):
For my squad.
We obviously need interior Olinemen.
We need wide receiver whodoesn't yeah Exactly Good point
who?
Graham (01:01:41):
doesn't, yeah, exactly.
Scott (01:01:42):
Exactly Good point.
Graham (01:01:43):
We need who doesn't need
a Terry Robinson lineman.
Scott (01:01:46):
We need a tight end, we
need a wide receiver, you know
we need defensive line, but, dude, get Myers from get Myers.
Graham (01:01:58):
They won't trade in the
division.
Scott (01:01:59):
No, no, I'm hoping.
What I'm hoping is Mark Andrews.
It sounds like that would be amove, especially with Ortiz
being with the Baltimore Ravensfor 26 years.
Announcer (01:02:09):
Yeah.
Scott (01:02:10):
You know, yeah, I think
that would be pretty solid.
I wouldn't be mad at that.
Rob's all over the tight endfrom Michigan, colton Loveland,
just because of continuitybetween him and Harbaugh and I'm
like dude, I'm cool with thatif it happens.
I mean I don't care who we pick, I mean I want them.
(01:02:31):
You know I have my people thatI want to take.
But we saw in the playoff gamewhen we got the lead laid to us
by Houston what was our weaknessthe interior line.
You know they came right up themiddle.
So Zion Johnston, our firstround guard we picked from
(01:02:55):
Boston College a while ago.
The rumor is they're going togive him center snaps in camp
and he played center a littlebit in college.
That would be huge If we coulddo that.
You know Bradley Bozeman I wastalking to TP about it the other
night.
You know as bad as we allpicked on Bradley Bozeman.
The one good thing aboutBradley Bozeman is he didn't
(01:03:16):
miss a game.
Yeah, you know, but I I reallywant, if everybody else is gone,
I'd love to have the hamptonrunning hampton kid omarion
hampton, from north carolina.
He's a bruiser dude, he's sixfoot, 220 home run hitter.
Or the guard from bama, tylerBooker.
(01:03:41):
Those would be my first twoplays.
Booker would probably be thefirst one.
I mean he's 6'5", 330, and Iforget who.
Bama's first-round tackle thatgot picked last year.
I forget his name, but somepodcast I was listening to said,
(01:04:01):
whatever that guy's name is,that got picked last year should
literally give a sign-in bonusto Tyler Booker.
Announcer (01:04:09):
Because Tyler.
Scott (01:04:10):
Booker made him all his
money.
But like you said, theoff-season's fun, the
speculation.
The Jets just dangled Devontaeout on a string to trade.
Nobody's trading for him.
They're going to have to cuthim.
You know, the Niners justannounced Iuke is available for
trade.
Nobody's going to trade forIuke.
Graham (01:04:32):
Right, I mean, look, I
think Devontae wants to be cut,
to be honest, Of course he does, because then he can pick where
he goes.
Scott (01:04:38):
Of course he does, he's
either going.
I hate to say it.
I think there's three places.
Devontae would go Three.
Graham (01:04:57):
Pittsburgh, denver or
the Chargers.
Scott (01:05:01):
All that shit that he was
talking to Patrick Sertani the
previous year I don't know howthat would go and the Chargers
social media when they blastedhim in their schedule release
thing.
Graham (01:05:07):
Hey, come on down to
Pittsburgh please.
Scott (01:05:11):
Or Washington.
What do you go with Washington?
Could you imagine Devontae,Debo and Scary, Terry and Cliff?
Graham (01:05:20):
Yeah, and you still got
Luke McCaffrey.
Scott (01:05:27):
Zach Ertz, I mean where
else?
I just don't, I don't know, Ifeel you.
T Higgins, I mean I don't even.
I think he's going to getfranchise tagged, which is which
is dumb as shit.
Because then you just taggedhim last year and gave him 20.
Now you got to give him 22.
(01:05:48):
So you just paid the dumbass 42million for two years.
You should have just signed himfor four years.
Yeah, four years, 50 guaranteed.
You're saving money, you morons.
Graham (01:06:00):
The fact that he thinks
that he's worth more than 25 a
year.
The problem is there's too manyB-level receivers that got paid
money.
I'm blaming this all onChristian Kirk from two years
ago, to be honest.
Scott (01:06:13):
Dude, you are not wrong.
My guy didn't even have a 1,000yard season and got paid by
Jacksonville.
Paid Dude Like oh.
Graham (01:06:30):
These receivers.
Scott (01:06:30):
Dude, I don't know, and
not only that, I know I'm not
taking anything away from THiggins.
Would I want him on theChargers A hundred percent?
If the Chargers went out andsigned him and gave him this
mega deal, would I be pissed?
No, because he would be the.
I would be mad about the pay,but he would be the perfect
compliment to our offense.
(01:06:51):
You got lad slot and you gothim stretching the field.
You got Q Quentin, who could bethe guy doing the little quick
ends which he's supposed to dothe yard after catch guy.
Would I be pissed?
No, because he is the perfectguy.
Graham (01:07:07):
Yeah, do you think
Higgins and Devontae would be
around the same price?
Scott (01:07:13):
No, because Higgins is
$25, $26.
Yeah, devontae is going toprobably's save a couple bucks.
Devontae's gonna probably signa two year deal.
What's he?
31 32 but he still sounds about, right, he still had a season
playing for the Raiders and Godknows who's throwing to him and
(01:07:38):
then goes to the Jets.
Graham (01:07:39):
Well, yeah, when they're
forcing him the ball, I mean
when he's literally the onlyoption.
Scott (01:07:45):
Oh, I'm sorry.
Who's that tight end?
I'm saying the previous year, not like this past year, but I a
free agent, wide receiver Iwould want would be Devontae, if
we're going to sign one.
No, I agree, I don't want anypart of Cooper Cove.
I agree, I don't want any partof T Higgins because of the
money.
(01:08:07):
Devontae would be the guy I'dwant.
But anyhow, dude, it's March2nd.
I know right, march Madnessright around the corner.
We got conference tournamentsstarting.
Some of the little conferencesstart at the end of this week,
then the big ones start nextweek.
(01:08:27):
Selection Sunday I think is the16th.
But the best news is you knowwhat happens next Saturday or
Sunday at 2 am.
Graham (01:08:40):
The fact that you are
excited about this is ridiculous
.
Yeah, it's daylight savingstime.
Scott (01:08:45):
I'm a golf pro.
It means spring is here.
It means late nine holes.
It means it's not dark at 6o'clock, dude.
Graham (01:08:56):
I disagree.
You disagree, and by disagree Imean no, I'm just messing with
you.
I'm just messing with you.
I'm just messing with you.
Scott (01:09:04):
I mean I can't wait.
I'm tired of cold weather, I'mready to play some golf.
Graham (01:09:12):
It was like 70 degrees
the other day.
What are you talking about?
Scott (01:09:14):
It was 70 degrees
yesterday and then we had a cold
front coming through.
Last night.
We were literally at the barand as we're walking out, I like
, oh my god, it's freezing, it's20.
Look, 29 degrees here right now.
Graham (01:09:31):
Yeah, I, I, how I I
don't understand the climate in
your area.
I really I told you like itmakes no sense southeast.
Scott (01:09:38):
It's the middle atl dude.
It could be 70 degrees inDecember Makes no sense.
Or it could be 12.
But anyhow, Graham, it's been afun episode.
We got Bay Hill next week.
Even though our boy's notplaying, we'll still be watching
(01:09:59):
it.
I'm vetoing it.
We'll still be watching it.
Graham (01:10:02):
I'm kidding, I'm
watching it.
I'm watching it.
I'm vetoing it.
We'll still be watching it.
Scott (01:10:05):
I'm kidding, I'm watching
it.
Graham (01:10:05):
I'm watching it.
I'll still be finding I got tofind some action.
Scott (01:10:06):
Yeah, I'll be coming out
with the Wasterdamus picks and
you know we went one and onethis week.
It's not a losing week, Not alosing week.
Well, that's because youdoubled up on Berger.
Not a losing week, wow, well, that's cause you doubled up on
burger.
I didn't tell you that.
Announcer (01:10:23):
I didn't tell you
that.
Scott (01:10:24):
I told you to top 20.
Graham (01:10:26):
He was in second place
at eight under.
Scott (01:10:33):
And the best thing is I
sent the.
I sent it to Buckeye too.
I'm like dude Daniel burgerLowry, top 20.
Do it?
He texted me last night Likeit's my fault that Shane Lowry's
in 35th place.
You know, I give him a pick.
Announcer (01:10:48):
I'm not telling you.
Scott (01:10:49):
I'm pointing a gun to
your head being like you have to
bet this.
He's like what?
Announcer (01:10:54):
the fuck.
Scott (01:10:55):
What WTF I'm like, bro
Eat a bag.
Golf is hard, Just like I toldyou bro.
Graham (01:11:04):
Eat a bag Golf is hard
Just like.
Announcer (01:11:05):
I told you last night
.
Scott (01:11:07):
You were freaked out
about Lowry and I'm like dude,
he's going out early, threehours before the leaders, no
weather, and what'd he do?
He went out and shot four deep, got it done.
Graham (01:11:17):
Shit, hindsight being
20-20,.
I wish it would have been Lowrythat didn't make the top 20 and
it would have been Berger, I'dhave been a lot happier.
Yeah, but well, this is anotherepisode.
This is number 140.
Let's go, bro.
