Announcer (00:06):
Welcome to another
episode of the Bald Guys on the
Bench Podcast with your hostsGraham Cohen and Scott Wasco.
Scott (00:21):
What's up everyone, and
welcome back to another episode
of The Bald Guys on the Bench.
Tuesday night edition.
Graham's back home in Vegasfrom a little trip to the East
Coast, and I'm just gonna leaveit at that.
We'll talk about that wholescenario in a second.
But Graham, you know what timeit is, bro.
Graham (00:43):
Hey, it's been a long,
long week, but hey, we're here
to talk sports.
So, like we always do, Scott, when talking about sports, it's
time to grab one and crack one.
Let's go, baby.
Scott (00:53):
And folks, if you can
hear Graham being as tired as he
is, you know, we all know youlisten to me joke on Graham
about sleeping in.
My guy actually got up before 6a.m.
three days in a row.
Graham (01:08):
Uh, how about before 5
a.m.?
Wow.
Yeah, it was brutal.
Well, when you have 7.10 teaoff times, you know, and you
gotta get there, it's like it iswhat it is.
Scott (01:26):
Anyhow, yeah, we'll get
into that whole thing.
We'll get into that.
Graham (01:30):
But I had a busy
weekend, but we'll get into
that.
Scott, how was your weekend,brother?
Scott (01:36):
I had a crazy weekend
too.
And not as crazy as yours, butyou know, I mentioned last week
it was our member guest at theclub.
Everybody knows that sitting inthe golf world, member guest is
like the Super Bowl for privateclubs, and just so happened to
be Ryder Cup weekend, the reasonI couldn't go.
(01:57):
And, you know, all my thoughtsand you know, concentration was
on that.
Stayed down at the clubThursday night, was bummed.
I couldn't go to Kellen's gameon Thursday night against their
rival school, which theydominated.
Kellen was so pumped.
First quarter had a tackle, caused a fumble, recovered the
(02:20):
fumble.
Kristen's texting me as I'mlike scoring the first round,
and I'm like losing my mind.
I'm like, oh, you know, I'm sopumped for him.
Graham (02:28):
Yeah.
Scott (02:29):
You know, the whole
memory, you know, I'm like so
bummed I missed it, but thankGod they, you know, I showed it
to you last night.
The coaches record everything.
They won, got back to thehotel, and literally Kellen,
first thing he says, text mewhen he got on the bus to go
home, and he just texts me,let's effing go.
And I'm like, that's my boyright there.
Graham (02:52):
Fired up.
Scott (02:53):
Fired, fired up, dude.
In the video, you know, comingout of the, you know, where he
recovered it, jumping up anddown with the ball, and then
seeing the rest of the video onthe sideline with the whole team
smacking his helmet.
I was pumped for him.
But then, dude, it was crazy.
Like, I was talking to Kristenon her way home.
Dude, she drove past the highschool and she's like, I don't
(03:15):
know what's going on at the highschool.
Like, there's like 10 firetrucks at the high school.
I don't know what the hell'sgoing on, dude.
Because it's the local rivalry, the fire station right by our
house, right by the high school, lined up the entrance to the
high school to welcome them homefor winning the game.
Like sirens going.
How sick is that?
(03:37):
How sick is that, though?
Graham (03:38):
No, I mean it's it's
sick.
Yeah.
But for ninth for ninthgraders, like, yeah, dude.
Scott (03:46):
Hey, I I it's called
community, bro.
Graham (03:48):
I I I get it, I get it.
Scott (03:49):
I get it.
Hey, super sick.
But you know, member guest endson Saturday.
We're doing the shootout at theend of the member guest to
determine the winner.
As we're doing the shootout, you know, people that don't know
golf, shootout.
We have 10 flight winners, alternate shot.
I got 10 balls in play on thefirst hole, okay?
(04:10):
And I'm out there orchestratingthis whole fiasco.
We go from 10 teams to sixteams to four teams.
Well, we get to the four teamhole, and my dad texts me, Holy
shit, there's about to be abrawl in the rider.
I'm like, in the rider cup.
I'm like, what the what theshit's going on?
I'll like turn my phone off.
I'm like, I can't even dealwith this anymore.
I can't, I gotta deal withthis.
(04:32):
But you know, weekend was theweekend.
Disappointed in the Ryder Cupand disappointed in my Chargers,
which we'll get into.
But more excited that Sunday towatch the Ryder Cup was
actually watchable.
I mean, going into Sunday, I'msitting there going, are they
(04:55):
gonna score 20 points?
Got home from Member Guest, amazing football games on
Oregon, Penn State, Georgia,Bama.
Yeah, you know, got to watchthe end of that.
Yeah.
But, you know, it was it was agreat sports weekend.
Really bummed that Graham hitthe wrong button and didn't post
(05:16):
the Ryder Cup episode becauseyou guys could have heard
Wastardamas on another scale.
Picking Cam Young to lead theUS and Ryder Cup points at 12 to
1.
But the one thing I do have tosay is, you know, I can't
(05:37):
believe it actually happenedbefore I let you go into your
weekend.
No, no.
You and I have been talkingabout this for weeks, episodes.
What we predicted actuallyhappened.
Who hit the first t-shot forthe United States?
Graham (05:52):
Bryson.
Scott (05:53):
It happened.
And my god, was it a tee shot?
Graham (05:57):
It was.
I mean, it landed on the green.
Scott (06:00):
So I mean, no, it was
before the green.
Graham (06:03):
Oh, that was another
day.
Sorry.
It was before the green.
I get him confused.
Scott (06:06):
And then Justin Thomas
hits a shitty chip shot, and
then Bryson hoops the putt.
Fired up.
Could you have had a betterstart?
Oh, Otani just hit another one.
That's two for Otani.
TP, I hope you catch that ball.
That one was deep dish pizzaright there.
(06:27):
Holy shit.
Wow.
Seven to nothing.
Oh.
But anyhow, it was.
People debate the pairings.
People debate this.
People debate that.
The only thing I debate is thebullshit envelope thing with
(06:47):
Victor Hovland and his injury onSunday.
The pairings, whatever, dude.
The European team was on fire.
Okay.
Graham (06:57):
Yeah.
Scott (06:58):
It is what it is.
Would I have put Moracao andHarris English out there
Saturday?
Probably not.
But the envelope injury thing,dude.
If we would have dude, imaginethis.
United States throws sixinjuries out there.
Why not just put all 12 of themout there?
You get six points on Sunday.
Graham (07:18):
We still would have
lost.
Scott (07:20):
Yeah, but guess what?
We only lost one singles match, bro.
I know.
On Sunday.
One.
I know.
That that point.
I look.
And then, and before I even letyou go into it, this is the
last thing I want to say.
I was at the BMW championship, and this is, you know, my dad
(07:41):
came over Sunday.
We watched the Chargers game.
I actually had two TVs.
I put another TV in the livingroom for the Ryder Cup and then
the Chargers game.
Graham (07:49):
Pretty gangster.
Scott (07:50):
And they're talking about
all this shit.
And all I can think about is amonth ago, I was at the BMW with
Fowler, right?
Graham (07:58):
Yeah.
Scott (07:59):
And I'm seeing the
trailers that the PGA has for
these players to go getstretched before a round.
Chiropractors on site, coldtubs, this, that.
Yeah.
It's not me and you, bro, showing up for our Sunday tea
time when we slept weird on ourneck.
Like you your tea time is at1.30 in the afternoon.
(08:22):
You've got plenty of resourcesto get your shit in gear.
And then did you see him on the18th green when they won?
Oh, that little douche was oh,bobbing his head all around.
Oh, I thought you couldn't turnyour neck, Victor.
Dude.
Graham (08:39):
If they needed him, he
would have played.
Scott (08:42):
Bullshit.
I think it was mind games.
Graham (08:46):
100% it wasn't my I
mean, is that a cheeky move?
Yeah.
Scott (08:51):
Did he have a kink in his
neck?
Yeah, maybe.
But bro, don't it's the RyderCup.
Graham (08:59):
But you yeah, you're
gonna tie it when they're at 11
and a half, so you're gonna givethem a half a point?
All they needed was two points, dude.
That's my point.
Scott (09:08):
Exactly.
It's stupid.
It should be a forfeit.
I guarantee you the 2027 RyderCup in Ireland, that rule
changes.
Guaranteed.
That should be a forfeit of apoint.
Graham (09:23):
Yeah.
Scott (09:24):
Should be a forfeit of
the point.
Graham (09:25):
But if it's a forfeit of
a point, it would still be 13
and a half.
You know what I mean?
Like it's still whatever.
You don't know what happens.
Scott (09:35):
I I Yeah, and that's why
that's why Paul McGinley, that's
why Paul McGinley on thebroadcast was like, I really
want them to get to 14 and ahalf and not 14 because of this
point.
And then when they got to 15,he goes, I feel better about it,
but because of the half point.
Yeah.
Whatever.
It's still stupid.
Graham (09:54):
Yeah.
And it's it's a mind frame.
It's a lot of things.
You know, I'm gonna start thisoff.
It's not really a rant.
It's it's it's gonna be acombination of a lot of things.
Um I think the first thing thatI'm gonna say is regardless of
(10:21):
it being the Ryder Cup, thereare a few golf courses, whether
it be globally, but even herewithin the United States, that
they are absolute staples, youknow, for golfers of of all
ages, for the PJ Tour.
(10:42):
Like, there's a handful ofclubs you're like, yeah, that's
famous for a reason.
No, they're the Beth Pages, thePelobeaches, like all of the
top ten courses we'll say.
I mean, there's really like asolid five to seven, but we'll
say the top ten courses.
Like they have their status, their eliteness, and in in in
various ways.
The number one thing about BethPage, the I mean, the absolute
(11:11):
number one thing when peoplethink of Beth Page is what?
Scott (11:15):
It's a municipal course.
Graham (11:16):
Well, besides that, but
what's the number like a normal
person?
Scott (11:20):
It's a big golf course,
it's a big golf course.
Graham (11:24):
Right.
It's a big golf course, butwhere I was going with that was
what's the first thing that yousee when you go when you go
there?
The sign.
That sign.
Scott (11:34):
Yeah, they moved it.
Graham (11:35):
They blew that sign up
everywhere, right?
They had it the traditionalspot.
They had like my point whereI'm going with this is this.
You can't have the writer cupand all its prestige.
This is for the Americans.
We choose the conditions, andbecause it's you know, it's on
our turf and da-da-th, and dahdah that.
(11:57):
The whole prestige of what BethPage was when I was there was
nowhere near what I've well, Idon't want to say that the way
the course was amazing, lovedit.
But from a competitionstandpoint, if you've never seen
Beth Page and then you go thereand you just see everyone
throwing darts, well granted, Iknow the weather that that that
(12:23):
sucked.
Scott (12:25):
That absolutely I don't
know, excuse my language, effing
sucked.
Graham (12:31):
Exactly.
I mean, the first so many holesbecause of the grandstands, you
know, they're moving people up.
Scott (12:38):
I mean all your boys just
want to bet eight to nothing.
Graham (12:43):
I mean, it's just like,
dude, every person that played
on both teams had a chance tomake the green.
Like, there was no Bryson goingfirst was like, yeah, we called
that, but like the whole pointof number one is that super
long, you know, long par four.
(13:03):
You got the dog leg aroundaround the right side.
It's a blind shot if you'retaking it over the over the
trees.
Because historically, there'splayers weren't hitting it over
the trees.
There was like one or two.
Every player almost took theline directly over the trees.
Like, didn't didn't phase themat all.
Scott (13:23):
Yeah, because the greens
were soft.
Well, that's what I'm saying, and they were ripping balls
back.
Graham (13:29):
I mean, dude, the rough
was was was shorter.
Like, I saw some shots fromlike 210 out of the rough to
like eight feet.
And granted, I get it.
These guys are pros.
I get that.
But here and there is one thingon a consistent basis, and
great, like I said, these arethe best players in the world.
(13:51):
Like, they just came off of youknow, the tour championship,
the FedEx Cup, all that stuff.
And I I will say this.
I mentioned to you, you know, afew days ago.
Who's the number one player inthe world this year?
Or who had who had the bestseason?
It's Scott and Seven.
Scott (14:11):
You said it last week in
the episode that never got
published when we were talkingabout top USA scorers.
Graham (14:16):
Yeah.
Scott (14:17):
Scotty was two to one,
and he went one and four.
Graham (14:23):
Dominated.
Fleetwood looked amazing outthere.
Like he he was dropping putts,he was hitting all the shots you
need to hit.
Scott (14:36):
Dude, it's it's the same
thing we say about all the past
rider cups.
I Colin Colin Montgomerycouldn't win a tour event in the
United States, tee it up at theRyder Cup, my guy hoops it from
everywhere.
Ian Boulter, Sergio, the numberone point getter of all time
for the for the Europeans.
Dude, that team could have beenmight have been the greatest
(15:04):
team Europe has ever assembled.
Graham (15:06):
Yeah.
I mean going back to theFearsome Five, I mean, or
whatever they were called, I Ijust dude, you know, it it's
from top to bottom.
I mean, Fitzpatrick played hisplayed his ass off.
Scott (15:24):
Um and he hadn't done
shit.
Graham (15:27):
Nothing.
Who also Big Bob.
Big Bob was just swinging itout there, bro.
Big Bob McIntyre was just like, hold my goodness, I got this.
Like, all over the place.
Our guys, we talked about it.
Who were you least excited forus to put out there?
And honestly, while I'mwatching them, Morikawa?
Scott (15:52):
Duh.
Graham (15:54):
And then it's just like
they did a little bit.
I mean, they tied on theweekend, but dude, I mean, I I
know you were working, youdidn't watch a lot of the
coverage, but dude, just fromwhat I saw on highlights, did it
look like Harris English evenwanted to be there?
That's him, though.
I I know I don't know a lot, Idon't watch a lot of his game.
(16:15):
So it's just like I'm watchingthis game and I'm like, you
know, this is the writer cup, dude, right?
Like, show some emotions, showsomething.
Like, I just you know, I thinkabout this.
Scott (16:29):
Here's a stat.
Scotty on Friday and Saturdayin the team portion of the of
the event.
Graham (16:38):
Yeah.
Scott (16:38):
His opponents made 34
birdies and 66 holes.
Graham (16:46):
What?
Scott (16:49):
I don't think oh what you
want to talk about a buzzsaw.
34 birdies and 66 holes.
Graham (17:01):
I mean so, and that's
the thing.
Scotty played better in theafternoon.
Him in the in the in thealternate shot, not so much.
Like the I'll give him credit, the Europeans, because a lot of
them will like the they had goodmatches.
Because I peep normal, I'mgonna say normal, the casual
(17:21):
golf fan does not understand theconcept of what playing the
same ball as the person you'replaying with, how important that
is.
Scott (17:31):
Yeah, but listen to this.
Something I learned Fridaymorning, session one, alternate
shot.
It's lift clean in placebecause of all the rain on
Thursday.
Yeah.
Guess what?
If it's lift clean in place, you don't have to play the same
ball.
You can play your own ball.
Graham (17:52):
What?
Scott (17:53):
Never knew it.
I just knew it.
Until never knew it.
Graham (17:56):
What?
Scott (17:57):
Never knew it, Graham.
Graham (17:58):
What?
Scott (18:00):
Had no idea, bro.
Graham (18:03):
What?
That is unbelievable.
Scott (18:05):
Because it's live clean
in place.
Graham (18:06):
Yeah.
Scott (18:07):
If you hit it, if you hit
it, if you hit it in the rough,
obviously you have to play yourpartner's ball.
Graham (18:12):
Yeah.
Scott (18:14):
I mean, I had no idea.
And I thought I knew a lot ofgolf rules.
Graham (18:19):
Right.
Um so it it's, you know, I gotback last night.
I'm still digesting the overallweekend, you know, something.
Can we have an over-under howmany times we gotta say, well,
if I would have pressed send onthat podcast and that episode
(18:41):
would have gone out, killingmyself for that.
But regardless, um, you know, Iknow we mentioned it uh we
talked about it prior, but twopoints.
One, whenever you, whoever aregoing on on this big plann trip,
you're going to meet up withyour friends, you know, you're
(19:04):
going to do you know, have agood time at the golf course.
Did we have a great time?
Yes.
Was I very fortunate to be withan old friend of mine, we had a
good time.
Yes.
But you want to get the dub.
And here's the thing.
If you've never watched any ofthe golf this whole weekend and
(19:25):
just saw what the final scorewas, you'd have no idea of the
shellacking that happened.
And another point to thatshellacking is when you go three
and one in the morning matches, and then three and one again in
the afternoon matches, and thenoh wait, yeah, it was another
three and one the day before.
Scott (19:44):
Like when you so and the
secondary markets are selling
tickets for a hundred bucks forSunday because we're getting our
asses handed to us.
Oh, my that you paid eighthundo for.
Graham (20:01):
So thanks for bringing
that up, actually.
Scott (20:03):
Dude, and all I could
think about, and I I know I
brought it up on the show lastweek, you know, Lawless, Matt
Lawless, one of our boys, textedme and was like, what day is
your grand going to be there?
And I'm like, Thursday throughSunday.
And I'm like, what day are yougoing?
And he's like, Sunday.
And all I could think aboutSaturday night after play was
over was, oh my god, this dudejust flew across the country
(20:26):
from California, paid a shit tonof money to go to the Ryder Cup
to see this.
Graham (20:33):
I mean, you saw a
comeback.
Scott (20:35):
I mean, it wasn't for the
dub, but I'm thinking before
the comeback.
Oh, okay, yeah.
I'm like, I'm like, oh, I'mheartbroken for him.
He's been looking forward toit.
And then, you know, Saturdaynight, you're there, you're
supposed to be fired up, andyou're like, I could have
literally paid a hundred buckson some other platform for a
ticket.
Graham (20:56):
I dude, my buddy that I
went with, he said the PG, or
who he said the PG, I don't knowif it was them, but the where
he got his tickets, theyactually offered him money to
buy his tickets on like that.
For Sunday?
No, no, no, for the whole week.
Oh wow.
Because they said they wererunning low on tickets, so they
(21:18):
were gonna buy his ticket.
He would have made made money.
I mean, not like a lot, like Ithink they would have given him
like a thousand bucks a day.
And folks, if you don't know, the regular ticket price, which
they called the Ryder Cut Plus, and folks, I'm air quoting
because the plus um justbasically means we'll allow you
(21:38):
to come to our concession standarea and uh we will give you the
free option choice of have abag of potato chips, have an
apple, have a banana, have acheeseburger, hot dog, chicken
sandwich, you know, somethingthat they just kept piping hot
and just kept putting it outthere, you know, and just and
and look, free food, I'll takeit.
Scott (21:59):
It's better than not
offering it because they didn't
have to.
Graham (22:04):
For $750, they better
have done a lot of other things.
Let me tell you.
So that in itself.
Um, something that we I broughtup before, I think we talked
about it in the episode thatdidn't, but if there, I don't
want to say a silver lining, butif there, if I did learn
(22:27):
anything from this weekend, andit pains me to say this, it
really does.
For as much as I love golf, I Iwill never er, I will never pay
to go to a tournament for morethan two days.
Scott (22:49):
It's tough.
Graham (22:50):
Folks, what I mean by
that is you people you you don't
understand the concept of oh,well, it's golf.
When you watch it on TV, yousee everything.
Not when you're there, not whenyou're there.
I mean, my mom was like, well, didn't they just have like TVs
up everywhere?
No.
What what I'm like, Ma, where'dthey get all the extension
(23:13):
cords?
Like, where would they get allthe I'm like, no, like there's a
few holes that had bigprojector screens that they did
it at.
They probably had like threeaside, so six total screens.
But it's just like when I'mtalking with my buddy Paul, and
you know, we get there, and it'slike, well, where do you want
to go?
And it's just like, look, likethere's a strategy of how you
(23:39):
watch golf at an event.
Because you're only doing itone of two ways.
Either you're going to aspecific place, grandstand, or
if you have your own chair orwherever, where you basically
get out in front of everyone, wait it out for the first group
to come through, have great, youknow, have a great time, great
(24:00):
seats, great situation with thatgoing on at that moment, watch
the groups go through, and thenjust wait it and wait it out
until they come back in theafternoon.
And if you do that, hopefullyyou pick a place that has one of
those projection screens.
We did that on, I mean, betweengoing to the practice rounds,
(24:21):
I'm trying to remember, but Iknow on Friday, the first date,
we forgot to take the chairs.
So that's what we did.
We went out to, I think it waslike 12, and 12 green was also
right next to five green.
So we got a little two for onespecial there.
So we sat in the grandstands, but there was a point where
(24:43):
there was three hours that therewas no one on the hole.
Scott (24:47):
And that's that's the
hard thing about the Ryder Cup
versus another tournament,right?
A regular event.
Right.
There's only four groups on thecourse on Friday and Saturday.
Graham (24:59):
It's not like we could
bounce around.
Scott (25:01):
Like back in the day when
we used to go to Tory Pines,
you would have to jump threeholes in front of wherever Tiger
was so you could watch Tigerhit a shot.
Well, at the Ryder Cup, you'rethree holes ahead of everybody
to watch four groups, and thenyou're like, okay, now where do
we go?
Graham (25:19):
Exactly.
And when there's 70,000 peoplethere that on a weekend day, and
there's four groups going off,or at least on Sunday when it
went individual, like you knowwhat I mean?
Scott (25:30):
So it's like that's the
brutal part.
Graham (25:32):
It's picking your
battles of surveying the course,
know where you want to positionyourself, because you have to
have the TVs.
Like, I'm literally there atBeth Page.
The weather was better than Ithought it was gonna be.
I'm happy for that, but I'm onmy phone watching the Ryder Cup
(25:55):
at the Ryder Cup.
Scott (25:56):
Yeah, I get it.
Graham (26:00):
Like, I mean I mean, the
dude, the I mean, dude, I get
it, Graham.
Scott (26:10):
I get it.
I totally get it.
Graham (26:12):
I mean, love the game.
Uh other things, like if it wasa free ticket, like, and the
thing is that it's not about themoney per se, but it's just
like I was at that golf coursebecause look, I I made a
mistake.
I forgot the writer club's onlythree days, not four.
So when we bought the tickets,I was like, yeah, just get
Thursday through Sunday, andthen my friend ended up buying
(26:33):
the extra day and got all this, and it's just like, dude, I was
at Beth Page Wednesday,Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
Sunday.
Like, after a while, I'm like, all right, I want to leave.
You know what I mean?
Scott (26:45):
Like, it's a it's a
grind.
Graham (26:47):
We didn't stay.
I'm you know, I don't feel badsaying this.
Like, we didn't stay for theclosing ceremony.
Scott (26:55):
On Sunday?
Graham (26:56):
Yeah.
Scott (26:57):
Yeah.
Well, we're like we we lost.
Graham (27:00):
Bye.
Yeah, I'm not sticking, I'm notEuropean and I'm not sticking
around and seeing them oysts thetrophy, you know, ocean the
trophy.
So it's just like, you know, wegot out of there, you know, to
beat the traffic.
You know, those first coupledays, like, oh, this is not a
big deal with the shows.
Boy, let me tell you, on thisthose bus lines getting out of
there, sheesh.
Scott (27:17):
But and like I told you
the other day, you know, day one
for the first tea shot.
Dude, Maros texted me at 5 20in the morning, Friday morning,
a picture of the first tea, andhe goes, It's already full.
Graham (27:32):
And that was the one
thing I told you.
That was the only thing that Iwanted was to be there in the
stand, but to know that theshuttles don't start until 5
a.m.
and the gates open at 5.
So the only way, and mind you, folks are like, Well, what's the
big deal?
Well, you had to pre-pay foryour shuttle tickets.
Scott (27:54):
Eastern Jay said
something about a train.
Was there a train that lets youoff close to that?
No.
Well, he was he got there, likeI said, 5 20.
He didn't he didn't shuttle in,I guess.
Graham (28:07):
There's no no, you could
take the train to a spot and
then shuttle from the train.
Scott (28:14):
Okay.
Graham (28:14):
Yeah.
So my the whole point ofbringing that up is the only way
I could have got there on timeis if you Ubered, uh in a sense,
which dropping off wasn't thatmuch of an issue.
It's leaving there, which wouldhave been brutal.
Scott (28:31):
A disaster.
Graham (28:32):
Like, absolutely brutal.
But the one thing is is likebecause that you've been there.
Have you been there?
No, no, no.
Okay, I didn't think so.
So, like trying to explain, like New York roads, not in like
in the city, like there, thereare just so many like windy,
interchanging, winding roadsthere that they had so much
(28:53):
security, rightfully so, butit's just like all the traffic
cops that were like stoppingtraffic.
I'll give them credit because Iwas on the bus.
Hey, kudos to you guys.
They stopped traffic to let thebuses go through.
So, like, there's a part of it,like, dude, nice.
Do you know how pissed I wouldbe if I'm spending the money to
take the Uber and I'm waiting 15minutes?
(29:14):
Because it's like, oh, we'reright out here.
I'm like, yo, I'll just getout.
You know what I mean?
But it's just like, so thataspect, you know, it was nice,
but I I mean, look.
Scott (29:24):
So, so we could spend the
whole episode over.
Announcer (29:27):
No, no, no, no,
that's fine.
Scott (29:28):
Um question I have for
you, and I was waiting for the
show.
What was the most mind-blowingthing you saw?
What was your favorite thingbeing there?
Graham (29:47):
Um probably the opening
ceremony.
Scott (29:55):
Just like that was pretty
cool.
Graham (29:59):
Like, There's a few
times in people's life where
it's just like you know, I Iattribute some of it to like,
you know, instances was where Iwas at Burning Man or as other
other festivals, but it's justlike when when you're in a group
of so many people, you you canget caught up in the emotion of
like what is going on at thetime, and just the whole opening
(30:20):
ceremony, all the players werethere, you know, they're being
introduced, but just theinteraction with the fans
because I mean everything waswas kind of spread out there.
Um, like there's no shortcutsin Beth Page, it's pretty much
like how the design of the boardis golf course, yeah.
It's it's long, so like itwould take you a like it's a
(30:41):
20-minute walk to go from wherenine is back to Was it hilly?
Scott (30:46):
Was it hilly?
Graham (30:47):
Yeah, yeah.
It's I mean, not over the top,but yeah, I mean it it's hilly,
right?
For sure, and it's just likethe opening ceremonies were
super good.
Yeah, I mean, I I would justsay that, but then the last
thing that I was saying aboutthe event was this cause and
effect.
Was there a reason why theydidn't start serving alcohol
(31:10):
until 9 a.m.?
Probably.
Scott (31:13):
Uh, I think we saw that
on Saturday.
Graham (31:15):
Yeah, I mean, I get
that, but here's my point.
I don't know if it was the factthat the patrons that were
there were just shell-shocked ordemoralized by our play, but I
just there was a feel on thegolf course that it's just like
(31:38):
the wind was just sucked rightout of the fans.
Scott (31:42):
Dude, every time we hit a
shot close, and you thought we
were gonna get momentum.
Graham (31:49):
Yeah.
Scott (31:50):
They threw a dart, they
hit one better.
Graham (31:53):
Yeah.
We make we make a 25-footbirdie putt.
Oh, we'll just tap in ours.
Like we'll tap in our 25 foot.
Scott (32:01):
I mean, like I I don't I
don't know what you say.
Graham (32:06):
Uh, I mean it's it's
just well for me, what it really
was, and just because Iremember the crazy antics of
being up in the middle of themorning, like in the middle of
the night watching it because ofthe time change when it went
you know, two from two yearsago, the European crowd was just
(32:28):
so behind their players that itjust it just has a different
feel, and we just didn't feellike I I like I just didn't have
that feeling where it was justlike wow, like you know, we're
in something right now, you knowwhat I mean?
Scott (32:48):
And dude, something we
talked about last week on the
non-posted episode, dude.
The chance from our fans, yeah,USA, USA.
I believe that we will win.
And then you got the Europeansever yeah, you know where that
(33:11):
started, right?
San Diego State back in the daywhen uh Kawaii Leonard was
there, yeah, and then you gotthe European team.
We're not even talking fans, like the fans are hilarious, the
shit they come up with, butthen you got the European team
on the bus singing in your head,in your head, dude.
(33:35):
That roary roary, dude.
Graham (33:38):
That I literally heard
that every day.
Every day.
I it it was like our school,it's like our school didn't get
the memo for the prep rally, like and before we get off the
(34:00):
rider cup.
Scott (34:01):
I I mean, were the
American fans a little
ridiculous?
And I agree with you.
We were getting boat raced, anddudes were drunk and started
saying shit and that theyshouldn't have said, and it was
a little I mean, throwing beersat wives and stuff, like that's
that's ridiculous.
Graham (34:19):
Yeah, uncalled.
Scott (34:20):
Very uncalled for.
Like, come on.
But then you got Rory in hispress conference.
Oh, is that another bomb?
No.
Then you got Rory turningaround and telling somebody to
shut the fuck up, and then inhis press conference saying, you
know, how the United Statesfans were over the top.
And my boy Paul Isinger calledhim out, and he was spot on.
(34:45):
Rory's out there and he tellsthe fan to shut the fuck up, and
then saying that the Americanfans are bad, and then Rory in
his press conference, they askhim, How did that feel to stick
that shot after you told thatguy to shut the fuck up?
And he goes, Very fuckingawesome.
So which one is it, Rory?
Graham (35:07):
Yeah.
Scott (35:10):
I mean, when Shane Lowry
had that five, six footer to
win, I'm looking at my dad andI'm like, there is no chance in
hell that this putt does not goin.
Graham (35:20):
Oh, no.
Scott (35:23):
No chance.
And I mean, Russell Henley, dude, like number three ranked
player in the world.
Like, you have a putt to beatShane Lowry and you leave it
short.
The last thing you ever do isleave a putt short.
I mean, a wise man once said aputt that doesn't reach the hole
100% of the time never goesback.
Graham (35:43):
Yeah.
Smart man.
Dude.
Scott (35:49):
I just dude, I don't
know.
I mean, we can sit here andtalk and talk and talk.
But hey, the next Ryder Cup2027 is in Ireland.
Word on the street is comingstraight from Marco Mira.
Tigers are a captain.
Oh one of Tiger's best friendsis the owner of whatever it's
(36:12):
called, a Dar Manor or whateverit's called in Ireland.
I I seriously think Tigerdidn't accept that job because
he knew the pressure.
And he knew their team.
Somebody said so, hold on.
Somebody said something today, and they were like, can we make
(36:35):
Coach K the captain for theUnited States Ryder Cup team?
Like somebody that's actually acoach, a captain.
Graham (36:44):
Yeah.
Scott (36:44):
That understands how to
fire up people.
I'm not blaming Keegan, dude.
He ran into a buzzsaw.
Graham (36:51):
No, a hundred percent.
Scott (36:53):
And Keegan said he set
the golf club course up
different.
Well, let's get this factstraight.
As the home team and thecaptain, yes, you get a say-so
on how to set the golf courseup, but not a hundred percent
like people think.
Yeah, you have a say-so, okay.
(37:13):
Dude, it doesn't matter.
The rain killed us, dude.
Announcer (37:19):
Yeah.
Scott (37:19):
The rain killed us.
And and I agree with Billy.
Everybody that listens to usknows that I cannot stand
Patrick Reed.
Patrick Reed should have beenon that team.
Wow.
Brooks Kepka should have beenon that team.
Patrick Reed, what'd they callhim?
(37:41):
Captain America, dude.
He's an amazing matchplayplayer.
You're telling me Patrick Reedwouldn't have done better than
Colin.
I fire my caddy every otherweek, Morikawa.
Graham (37:53):
I'm not disputing that.
Scott (37:56):
I just whatever.
You know, the old saying, if myown had balls, she'd be my
uncle.
We lost the Ryder Cup the firsttwo days.
Exactly.
You can't we they won onematch, dude, on Sunday, and that
was our boy Skov.
Graham (38:11):
Yeah.
Scott (38:12):
And blood.
Graham (38:13):
Yeah.
Scott (38:14):
You know, texted Joe
Sunday.
Congrats.
That's Joe's second Ryder Cupwin.
One with one with Rick for theUnited States and one with the
Europeans.
Graham (38:24):
Yeah.
Well, two now, yeah.
Scott (38:28):
So yeah, he's got two
dubs.
Graham (38:32):
Didn't he win it for
him?
Didn't he wasn't he wasn't heown boys caddy?
Or was he not with Ludwig twoyears ago?
Scott (38:38):
No, he wasn't with Ludwig
at first one.
Graham (38:40):
Okay.
Um, I just you know, I I I wantto piggyback on something you
said with with Tiger.
Wow.
Your comment that you madeabout Tiger possibly reading the
tea leaves and and not wantingto do it.
I I would have, I mean, bro,we've known each other for 20
(39:07):
years now.
You know how much I love TigerWoods.
Scott (39:11):
100%.
Graham (39:16):
For the type of person
that he is and the drive that he
has, you know, to be the bestplayer in the world, the thought
of him even conceiving that andnot like my point saying this
is what the bleak does he careabout his image?
Scott (39:33):
Well, part of it was uh
he turns 50 in December or
January, whatever it is.
Graham (39:40):
Yeah.
Scott (39:41):
And he wanted to play
this year until the injury.
Graham (39:46):
Yeah.
Scott (39:47):
And didn't want to
concentrate on it that much.
Graham (39:49):
Yeah.
Scott (39:50):
Dude, it's tiger, okay?
Graham (39:54):
He can do whatever he
wants.
I get it.
I hate saying that, but it'sjust like, hmm.
Scott (40:01):
Dude, and this brings me
to this last text from Jerry
that I told you last night.
And then we'll move on.
All right.
Jerry texted me on Saturdayafternoon as Scotty's losing his
fourth match.
Scotty is not a rider-cutplayer.
Just like Tiger, big gamehunters like to hunt alone.
(40:24):
Look at Tiger's record.
Graham (40:29):
Yeah.
Okay, so if that's the case, and I I mean, how do you tell
the number one player in theworld we're not putting you out
in the two-ball?
We're not putting it like no,well, I mean, like, I get that,
but it in that scenario, he'sall like he played best in the
(40:52):
afternoons and then on Sunday.
Like, the alternate shot wasnot his thing.
Him and I we brought it upearlier.
I don't watch much of RussellHenley.
Like, I just that wholecombination, and the thing is,
I'm like, but they say they'reboys.
Like, it I'm just like, I'mwatching this and I'm like, what
(41:13):
is going on with these guys?
Like, how are you the numberone and the number three player
in the world, and you're noteven playing the two best
Europeans, and you're losing?
Scott (41:23):
Dude.
Graham (41:24):
Significant, mind you.
Scott (41:26):
You know what, you know
what Tiger Woods overall record,
not playing record, butAmerican wins versus European
losses is.
Graham (41:37):
I'm sure it's under
based off the look on your face.
Scott (41:41):
Under what?
Graham (41:42):
Under 500?
Scott (41:44):
No, I'm talking about I'm
talking about how many rider
cups has Tiger been on that theAmerican team won.
Graham (41:51):
Oh.
Uh 12 if they go every other.
Announcer (42:03):
Five?
Scott (42:04):
Uh how about one in
seven?
What?
Tigers won one Ryder Cup.
Graham (42:12):
And that was
ninety-nine.
Scott (42:17):
Yep.
Graham (42:18):
The the comeback in
ninety-nine.
What?
Scott (42:22):
The vi the thing I sent
you last night on Instagram with
Payne Stewart.
Graham (42:25):
Yeah.
Scott (42:26):
You know what his record
is?
Graham (42:29):
I know it's not great.
I no, I know, I have no idea.
Scott (42:34):
13 wins, 21 losses, and
three ties.
Graham (42:42):
So this whole big thing,
and we'll just we'll end it on
this.
Everyone says in golf in thelast you know 30 years, the
biggest thing is what?
Win and away rider cup.
Alright.
They cross it off the list.
So does us with Tiger going toRory's home home country?
(43:08):
Does that like get the juicesflowing for us?
Or should I mean I guess like, yeah, it'll be great to re get
the cup back, but I mean Does itsay more for us if we win it
there versus if we would havejust retained it here?
Scott (43:29):
I don't have an answer
for that.
I don't know how to answer it.
Yeah.
There was dude, this Ryder Cup,the build-up going into it.
Oh, was so hype.
Graham (43:45):
Yeah.
I mean, we were both going intothis, like, oh dude, this is
gonna be great.
Scott (43:55):
Dude, think about this.
Remember when we remember whenwe won it in at Whistling
Straits?
Graham (44:01):
Yeah.
Scott (44:02):
When Steve Stricker was
the captain?
Yeah.
And we boat, and we boat racedhim.
Graham (44:06):
Yeah.
Scott (44:07):
And everybody was like,
oh my god, we're gonna just
dominate the rider cub for thenext six years.
Graham (44:15):
Yeah.
Scott (44:16):
Oh man.
That was a long time ago.
Wow, dude.
That's all I can say.
Anyhow, speaking of the thing.
I mean, 45 minutes of the RyderCup.
I mean, we are golf nerds, soanywhere there.
(44:38):
I mean, I don't even care.
Of course.
We might we might have to splitthis into two episodes, but
hopefully you'll remember torelease some unlike last week.
Graham (44:51):
We'll see how it goes.
I feel like we can bang throughsome of these pretty quickly.
Scott (44:56):
Dude, I actually screen
recorded the Washter Damas
prediction to TP, and I waslike, I told you I made it.
And TP's like, God dang it,Graham.
Graham (45:07):
Dude, I did I had it
finished.
It was on the bed, like I hadeverything, and I thought I
pressed fucking said.
Guess not.
Scott (45:17):
If you don't know, now
you know.
Graham (45:19):
I know.
I didn't, and I didn't checkit, and yeah, what happened
anyhow?
Scott (45:25):
Let's jump in college
football real quick Saturday.
You know, amazing matchups.
Georgia, Bama.
Can't believe Bama won inGeorgia.
Dude, I know you didn't watchthe game.
Georgia had a chance.
Homeboy wide receiver forGeorgia dropped a wide open,
would have been like a 50 plustouchdown in the third quarter.
(45:47):
Yeah.
And Bama wins again.
Dude, incredible.
Kirby Smart just gets owned byGeorgia.
It's insane.
Graham (45:57):
You know what his record
is?
Scott (46:01):
Against Bama?
Graham (46:02):
No, just his entire his
coaching record.
I heard this.
I was watching Sports Centerlast night.
It was last night of the nightbefore.
He has 13 losses.
Scott (46:16):
I'm not even gonna look
it up.
13.
10 of them are to Bama?
Graham (46:21):
Seven.
I think seven are to Bama.
Like what?
Scott (46:28):
Yeah.
It's insane.
And remember, Bama got boatraced week one by Florida State?
Wasn't it Florida State?
Graham (46:35):
Yeah.
Scott (46:37):
Speaking of Florida
State, did you see that UVA
Florida State game Friday night?
Oh my gosh.
Crazy.
Is that wide receiver forFlorida State alive?
Dude.
I'm not joking.
Graham (46:53):
I'm just hey, unlike the
pros, there's a bunch of wide
receivers that are that are deadover there that we'll be
getting into.
Oh my lord, I can't even withthat.
But yeah, dude, collegefootball, I mean, then look, you
know, the big night game,Oregon coming to Penn State, the
white out.
I thought we had a chance.
(47:15):
I mean hey, hey.
Scott (47:18):
For as boring as that
first half was, yeah.
The second half was epic.
Graham (47:26):
Now epic.
And everyone's like, oh, youknow, this should be you know,
this is Penn State's year.
Maybe.
But like my point saying thatis saying that is this.
Franklin, bro.
We loved you.
You've been good.
Do you know how long he'sactually been coaching them now?
Scott (47:48):
Dude, yeah, I can tell
you.
Graham (47:50):
No, and it's like what
is it, like 12 years now?
Scott (47:53):
Listen to this.
Graham (47:54):
Yeah, I think 12 and 15
years.
Scott (47:56):
Franklin, Franklin at
Penn State.
One and 15 versus top fiveteams.
Announcer (48:01):
Yeah.
Scott (48:02):
Four and twenty-one
versus top 10 teams.
15 and 30 versus top 25 teams.
4 and 17 versus Michigan andOhio State.
Granted, when he took the job,it was after Yes, after that
whole debacle.
Graham (48:23):
After Penn State with
the sanctions and all the other
stuff.
So I'll give him a pass thefirst couple years.
That's fine.
Especially with all the moneywith the NIL now and the extra
money that they spent andthey're doing to Beaver Stadium
and the upgrades and all thatother stuff.
Did I miss the memo?
(48:44):
Does Penn State not care aboutlike I mean like look?
I like Franklin.
I got nothing to do with him,but like if you're a program
that's on that's if you are astable, not stable, but like if
you're a blue chip program incollege football, which I would
think, and I'm not trying tosound like a homer here, but
(49:05):
like I would think Penn State, you know, especially being in
the Big Ten, they're a bluechip, like they're a big
program, right?
Absolutely.
Exactly.
So why are they not like why isthe AD not being like, you
know, kind of like how OhioState is or Michigan?
We're just like, hey man, yougot three, you got three years.
(49:27):
You may figure, you know, orwe'll say this is more SAC
coaches, but it's just like, dude, you got three years to
beat the rivals.
Scott (49:32):
If you don't beat them,
like I don't it's I don't I
don't know what to say becauseyour defense was solid.
All the hype was the Penn Statequarterback's gonna be the
number one pick in the draft, and between him and you know,
(49:53):
the dude from Indiana, and nowthe quarterback dude from
Oregon.
Shush.
Graham (50:00):
Yeah.
Scott (50:01):
Shush.
Uh I just I I don't know.
I don't know what to say.
I mean, it's something my dadsent me earlier.
It's pretty funny as wetransition into the NFL.
He got he sent me a text.
He goes, Michigan State hasn'tbeaten Michigan in 1,431 days.
(50:24):
Penn State hasn't beatenMichigan in 1,767 days.
Graham (50:29):
Oh, God.
Scott (50:30):
This is the best one.
Ohio State hasn't beatenMichigan for 2131 days.
Notre Dame hasn't beatenMichigan in 2,586 days.
But yeah, that's right.
We're stealing signs.
And the best thing, the bestthing I saw this week as we
transitioned into the NFL.
(50:51):
Uh somebody threw something outSunday afternoon.
Uh all the league leaders andinterceptions in the NFL all
played at Michigan.
Oh, yeah, but we're stealingsigns.
Anyhow, let's jump right in.
I know a game that you reallydidn't watch much of your
(51:11):
Steelers in Ireland playing inthe Vikings.
Graham (51:15):
So the only silver
lining.
We're getting up at 4:30 everyday.
Do you know what time thesingles matches started?
Scott (51:27):
Not until like one or
twelve something.
Graham (51:30):
12.
12-10.
Scott (51:32):
Because your game on at 9
30 on the east.
Yeah, you got to watch.
Graham (51:36):
Did you watch some of
it?
Yeah, we were at the at theAirbnb watching it.
We watched the first uh atleast the first half, I think
the first three quarters beforewe had to get in the car.
Uh to get it.
Scott (51:48):
You got the dub.
Did you see the end when Tomlinmade that stupid decision to go
for it on fourth down?
Graham (51:53):
No, that was at the
Gource at that point.
It's like when we want him todo it on fourth, he doesn't, and
then when we don't want to doit, I I just I don't know.
Um look, I was happy that wewere able to watch it on the TV.
I mean, I look, I was allprimed ready to go.
I had the phone charger or atthe battery bank, I got the uh
(52:17):
the fanny pack, I got the cords, one for me, one for the homie.
So we got you know, we couldcharge up the phones, everything
ready to go.
And when I saw that, I waslike, oh, uh deadly likes, daddy
likes.
So we watched the game, and um,look, Warren was out with the
injury, a little surprised bythat.
Uh, hey, good old KennethGainwell.
Scott (52:38):
I mean, yeah, thanks,
thanks, early game, screwed me
in fantasy with Warren.
I but hey, I got I gotta win.
Um I can't bitch anymore.
Graham (52:49):
Yeah, I I mean look.
Um you know, with Gainwell, autility running back, but look,
the one time, well say the onetime, but the whole next man up,
it kind of worked for us.
He he looked pretty decent.
Like, I'll I'll give it to him.
(53:09):
I mean, he's not even the funnything is he's our third
stringer, but it is what it is.
Scott (53:14):
Um here's a funny thing.
Go ahead.
I was thinking about thistoday.
Steelers are three and one.
Graham (53:21):
Yeah.
Scott (53:22):
Ravens are one and three.
Graham (53:24):
Yeah.
Scott (53:26):
You know what the Ravens
line is to win the division?
Graham (53:31):
It's probably plus three
hundred.
Scott (53:38):
Minus 145.
Steelers are plus 170.
Graham (53:49):
They do know that.
Scott (53:51):
And Lamar's not playing
possibly this coming week.
Graham (53:56):
I heard he could be out
multiple weeks.
Scott (53:59):
That's what that's what
they're saying.
Graham (54:01):
But hey, it's only
Tuesday, so you never know with
these guys.
I mean, apparently you don'teven know until an hour before
the game starts.
It's the last one.
Scott (54:09):
Well, I mean, two games
back through four weeks.
Graham (54:15):
I uh look.
Did a perfect storm have tohappen for the Pittsburgh
Steelers to be leading thedivision right now?
AKA oh hey, you know that guyJoe Burrow?
Bye-bye.
Uh I mean the Browns.
Scott (54:31):
By the way, the Browns.
By the way, speaking of JoeBurrow, can we just go ahead and
name him MVP right now?
Dude.
Graham (54:43):
Am I wrong?
No.
Tell me I'm wrong.
Not only are you not wrong, Iwant to know how do you sign up
for like the player personneljob or a scout job for the for
the uh for Cincinnati?
Because I was watching some.
I think it was on YouTube orsomething.
I'm watching replays wheretheir left tackle like he had
(55:12):
butterfingers.
Like he wasn't even touchingthe defensive end that's coming
around the corner.
This what I think it's OrlandoBrown.
Like, bro, you can't have likethis is not the first year Joe
Burrow, one of if not the bestquarterback in the league, has
(55:34):
gotten hurt.
Scott (55:36):
Didn't he he got hurt the
year prior?
Right?
Yeah, year one.
Graham (55:42):
Yeah.
They lost him for the year.
Scott (55:45):
And then last year he got
hurt.
Graham (55:47):
And they decided.
So this is this is why it's allhilarious.
So instead of at four or five, instead of taking Penny Sewell,
who shot in the dark, is heYeah, but they took Chase.
Yeah.
(56:09):
Would Joe Burrow still beplaying?
I mean, I get it.
It's if you're onhypothetically, I get it.
And look, would they have goneto the Super Bowl without Jamar
Chase?
Absolutely not.
Scott (56:22):
No chance.
Graham (56:23):
So it's like so perfect
thing for the Steelers.
If you know offensive linemenare a premium, like you're
telling me there's only 15 goodleft tackles on this on this
planet.
Maybe.
Like I it's like, really?
Scott (56:46):
Maybe.
Graham (56:48):
I dude.
Scott (56:50):
So y'all are by week this
coming week, right?
Graham (56:53):
Yeah, we're by week
right now, yeah.
Week five.
Scott (56:55):
Who's your next who's
your next game?
Graham (56:56):
Uh Cleveland.
Scott (56:58):
That's week what?
Six?
Announcer (57:01):
Yeah.
Scott (57:02):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Alright.
Well, I don't know.
Hey, if you would have told ifI would have told you before
game one, y'all be three and onegoing into your bye, you would
have been like, let's go.
Graham (57:18):
Oh, a hundred percent.
The I I'll say this theoffense, I don't know what they
changed about it.
It looked different.
I mean, isn't it kind of nicewatching your team and I don't
know, watching your quarterbackmake completions and sustaining
drives?
Like not going three and out, actually taking the ball from
one side of the field to theother.
It's kind of nice.
Scott (57:38):
DK's DK's done way more
than I thought he was gonna do
through three weeks, four weeks.
Graham (57:44):
Well, his game the other
day, he did take one, he did
have one catch that he took 80yards to the house.
Scott (57:51):
Right.
Graham (57:52):
Granted, but but here's
another concept.
They moved him around thefield.
Scott (57:57):
Right.
I agree.
So agree.
Jump real quick, Tampa Eagles.
Excited game.
Everybody was building up tothe hype.
Dude, the Eagles really blockanother kick and take it to the
house.
Dude.
They won the game.
(58:20):
Hertz did not complete a passin the second half.
AJ Brown only had tworeceptions.
Graham (58:31):
I make it make sense.
Scott (58:33):
I I Devonta, what do you
have?
Two receptions, too?
Graham (58:37):
Yeah.
Scott (58:38):
And they're sitting there
4-0.
They got a big matchup thisweek against Denver.
Graham (58:43):
They do.
Scott (58:44):
I'm just going out there
right now and I'm saying it.
Denver's beating them.
Graham (58:49):
Oh, love it.
Scott (58:51):
I don't want it to
happen.
Graham (58:53):
Yeah.
Scott (58:54):
It's happening.
Graham (58:55):
But here, look, four
weeks are in the books already.
What we thought we knew, let'sjust take that all in a ball,
crinkle it up, and just throw itout.
Scott (59:04):
Because hey, hey, your
boy was on cloud nine last week.
Chargers are three and oh.
Going to New York.
You know, solid matchup againstthe Giants.
Graham (59:20):
Rookie quarterback.
Scott (59:21):
The Giants have amazing
pass rushers.
We all knew that.
We all knew Slater's out forthe season.
Alt got moved to left tackle.
Right.
And the first half, Alt fuckinggoes down.
Changes everything.
Graham (59:38):
Oh, 100%.
Scott (59:40):
Dude.
It was awful.
And everybody praising JacksonDart for his performance.
He did great for his firststart, okay?
He did great.
Let's be realist, people.
The defense for the Giants won.
Won that game.
(01:00:01):
Herbert got hold on, I'll showyou right here.
Listen to this.
Herbert.
Graham (01:00:10):
Well, what I was going
to say was while you're looking
that up, is yeah, most of thehighlights that I watched for
your game was just watching Dartrun.
Scott (01:00:20):
All he did, all he did
was run.
Graham (01:00:22):
Like he didn't throw the
like he what how many passes
did he throw?
Like a lot of he had 111.
But I'll say this though, andsomething that he won't be his
coach won't be letting him domuch much longer.
Did you see how he was runningit though?
Like he's taking on blockers.
Like he's lowering hisshoulder.
Scott (01:00:41):
He's running down the
field.
Okay.
And he literally tries to smackone of the Chargers defenders
in the head.
And I'm like, what in the shitis going on right now?
And then he got yanked out ofthe game for concussion protocol
when he got drilled.
Graham (01:00:59):
Yeah.
Scott (01:00:59):
And that's when Russell
Wilson had to come in.
Like, what is this guy doing?
Graham (01:01:07):
You won't play.
This ain't college, bro.
Be a lot faster.
Scott (01:01:11):
Hey, hey, give credit
where credit's due.
Oh, 100%.
100%.
100%.
And like I just told you, ifyou would have told me before
game one, if through four weeksthe Chargers would have been
three and one, I would havetaken it in a second.
Just wouldn't have justwouldn't have been like we lost
to the Giants.
Graham (01:01:32):
Oh, 100%.
Scott (01:01:33):
I'm you know.
Graham (01:01:35):
But another one of those
times where that favorite
saying, any given Sunday.
Scott (01:01:40):
Yeah.
Dude, we lost our Pro Bowl lefttackle in preseason.
We lost our first round draftpick last year in Joe Walt for
two to three weeks.
Dude, we had four backupoffensive linemen going against
(01:02:05):
Brian, Dexter Lawrence,Thibodeau, and the first pick
Carter.
Graham (01:02:13):
Yeah.
Scott (01:02:16):
The crazy thing is they
only had two sacks, but Herbert
took a beating.
Graham (01:02:21):
Yeah.
Scott (01:02:22):
The Chargers had six
sacks, dude.
Six.
My boy Thule Tulli la Lapu hadthree sacks in the first half.
It was one of his best gamesever, dude.
Stud.
Graham (01:02:37):
Yeah.
Scott (01:02:38):
But hey, Dexter Lawrence
had an amazing interception
where he smacked the ball tohimself.
Yeah, Kerbert out there runninghim down and tackling him on my
Jimmy Crickets, dude.
Kerbert, really, bro.
Just no.
Graham (01:02:53):
Watch him fall on you
and you break your dude.
Like break an ankle.
Scott (01:02:57):
Yeah, like, come on, guy.
Like, jeez, man.
Dude, Quentin Johnson leadingthe NFL on touchdown receptions.
I mean, who saw that coming?
It's it's insane, man.
But hey, I'm worried becauseoffensive line.
(01:03:20):
Obviously, like you were justtalking about the Steelers.
It's all monster, Slater,Monster.
I just I don't know, man.
I don't know.
But I will say the one thingabout the game with the Chargers
was our first round draft pick,Hampton was a beast.
Graham (01:03:40):
Yeah.
Scott (01:03:41):
Absolute beast.
I don't know if you saw theplay where it was third and one
and he got hit at the line ofscrimmage and then drug like 17
Giants defenders for like eightother yards.
I was just like.
Announcer (01:03:58):
Oh no.
Scott (01:03:59):
Okay.
Okay.
But, you know, hey, we gotWashington this coming week.
I don't know what to think.
I don't.
Does Washington have edgerushers?
I I know they have BobbyWagner, middle linebacker, but
that's not an edge.
Graham (01:04:19):
They got a future Hall
of Famer.
Scott (01:04:21):
Who?
Graham (01:04:22):
Super Bowl winner.
Scott (01:04:24):
Oh, Von Miller?
Man, he's older than me.
Graham (01:04:29):
You're like 50.
Shut up.
Scott (01:04:31):
I'm 47.
I mean.
Graham (01:04:36):
I get your pain.
Scott (01:04:37):
And the scores, it's 10
10-4.
I mean, Jaden Daniels aresaying is gonna play this week,
but Scary Terry's still out.
Graham (01:04:44):
Yeah.
Scott (01:04:46):
But uh I don't know.
We're three-point favorites.
I don't feel really good aboutit.
Graham (01:04:53):
But I don't know.
Scott (01:04:56):
The Falcons boat raced
them last week, but that was
without Jaden McDaniels.
With that, wow, Dodgers justwalked in a run 10 to 5 right
now with the bases loaded.
Graham (01:05:07):
Oh that's come on,
Dodgers.
Scott (01:05:10):
Dude, and over seven and
a half was plus money, Graham.
Graham (01:05:17):
I just, you know, you
know, just finishing with your
game.
I uh with the injuries on bothsides, who knows how the teams
are gonna show up?
Like it's hard.
How do you handicap a lot ofthese games now?
It's just like yeah, throw itup in the air and see what
sticks, type of situation.
(01:05:38):
I mean, with all these injuriesnow, uh I mean, let's just get
into the big ones.
Uh, in your game, MalikNeighbors, boom! He gone.
Scott (01:05:50):
Dude, and speaking of
that, I mean, listen to this.
Notable ACL and Achilles Tearssuffered at MetLife Stadium
since 2020.
Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas,Jabril Peppers, Wandell
Robinson, Sterling Shepard, KyleFuller, Aaron Rodgers, and now
(01:06:12):
my league neighbors.
So same stadium.
You saw yesterday, you sawyesterday the NFL Players
Association had a meeting.
Graham (01:06:23):
Yeah.
With I mean, look.
Why why why are we not playingon grass?
Scott (01:06:33):
Dude, Tristan actually
asked me last night when we were
sitting there talking aboutthat.
And I she said, how many teamsin the NFL play on grass versus
turf?
And without looking it up rightnow, I think it was 14 teams
play on turf.
Yeah, which is right aroundhalf.
(01:06:54):
Which is actually, I can'tbelieve it.
I thought it'd be more.
Graham (01:06:58):
But well, the problem
is, well, you your reasoning is
because you don't think thatsome of the indoor stadiums
bring in grass.
Like Arizona brings in grass, and the Raiders, Raiders bring
in grass for their stadiums.
But yeah, I mean, dude, all theentries that happened.
Um, what was it?
Someone gets hurt, and I don'tknow if it was a Steeler thing
(01:07:22):
or someone else, but they'relike, all of our f all of our uh
all of our facilities aregrass, but our stadium is turf.
Scott (01:07:34):
How's that make sense?
So how's it make sense?
Announcer (01:07:41):
What?
Scott (01:07:42):
Dude, I don't know.
So injuries.
Neighbors.
Uh Tyree Kills, gruesome injurylast night.
If he ever plays again, I'll beshocked.
At his age.
Don't want to see anybody gethurt, but like I told you last
(01:08:04):
night, I'm like the only thingthat is good about that is that
means he's not going to theChiefs.
I mean, but dude, I mean, JamesConnors out, CeeDee Lamb's
hurt, Joe Burroughs hurt.
Dude.
Graham (01:08:25):
Are you just naming
guys?
Are you just naming all myteam, all my fantasy players?
Like, what are you doing?
Scott (01:08:32):
Uh it sucks, man.
It sucks.
Uh it's the one thing aboutlike the thing I sent last night
in our CBS League.
I don't know if you saw it, youwere probably on the plane.
I sent something, I was like, where is it?
There it is.
(01:08:53):
NFL player literally snapstheir leg in half.
NFL fans.
Son of a bitch, there goes myfantasy team.
Graham (01:09:00):
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, it's the worst part isit's so wrong, but it's so
right.
It's so 100% right.
Scott (01:09:13):
It's 100% right.
Graham (01:09:16):
Like, it's almost
getting to a point where it's
just like maybe I don't need towatch Red Zone anymore.
I can just like, well, I guessI'm only watching one game now.
Scott (01:09:23):
Like, man, I don't know,
man.
What else we got?
What else we got going on?
Graham (01:09:29):
Uh, really, the only
other game, just real quick, uh,
just to mention it, was thereturn of Micah Parsons back to
Dallas.
Oh, man.
The Sunday night game.
Scott (01:09:40):
Uh that son of a bitch.
Why couldn't he have gotten twosacks?
Graham (01:09:44):
I know.
Do you know what I think thebest part of that game was?
Jerry Jones comments after thegame.
I know.
Melissa Stark.
Oh, well, okay, the second bestthing.
Duh.
Scott (01:10:06):
You're unbelievable.
Dude, you knew where I wasgoing.
Graham (01:10:12):
Yes, I did.
Scott (01:10:13):
Um and real quick, sorry,
before you can say I apologize
to everybody because Audrey wassupposed to come on tonight.
We told you that last week.
And she didn't come on.
She thought we were recordinglast night, and tonight's her
son's birthday, so happybirthday to Audrey's son.
She did say she would come onnext week after her Washington
(01:10:38):
Redskins beat my Chargers.
And I was I was like, yeah, alright, whatever.
You can come on still, butwhatever.
Dodgers got out of it, but thebases loaded.
Um, but go ahead, continue whatyou're gonna say.
I'm sorry.
About Micah Parsons.
You said Jerry Jones.
Graham (01:10:55):
He basically I wanted to
get it.
Um he basically said I want toget this correct, but he said
after the game was over, hesaid, um if we only had a pass
rusher.
No, right?
Um basically was to the effectof well, we got rid of Parsons
(01:11:18):
and we didn't lose.
We we traded him to the otherteam and they didn't beat us.
I mean, he's not wrong, butit's all how you spin it, bro.
It's all how you spin it.
And the thing is, without CDgetting banged up, I mean that
(01:11:43):
defense is atrocious.
Like, if they had a passrusher, like yeah, they they're
better at stopping the run, butwhen it comes to defense, your
back end is protected by thefront end.
Scott (01:11:59):
They're number one in the
league in scoring and number 32
in defense.
Graham (01:12:04):
Like, that's insane.
And so the Bengals last year orthe Cowboys?
What?
Scott (01:12:12):
You were so hyped on the
Packers beating the Cowboys, you
almost took them in Survivor.
Graham (01:12:20):
Oh, no, I didn't.
Oh, I didn't.
Scott (01:12:22):
Which means L because
they tied.
Graham (01:12:25):
Yep.
Scott (01:12:26):
But dude, did you see the
end of that game?
Yeah, also two weeks in a rowthat Jordan Love has literally
made me not a believer like wethought after week one and week
two.
Graham (01:12:43):
Were we not talking
about their Super Bowl odds
after week one?
Scott (01:12:47):
Dude, Audible's Audible's
out of the run last week and
throws a pick.
This week, seven seconds lefton the clock, doesn't spike it
in overtime, calls a play.
Thank God it was incompletewith one second left.
What's their coach's name?
(01:13:07):
LaFleur?
Graham (01:13:08):
Yeah.
Scott (01:13:09):
The look on his face.
Graham (01:13:13):
That was the longest one
second, by the way.
Scott (01:13:16):
Dude, Chris Collinsworth,
who everybody hates on.
He was speechless, Graham.
It was that's that's a rarefeat.
Announcer (01:13:28):
For him.
Scott (01:13:30):
I'm not a believer
anymore.
This guy's decisions.
I don't know.
I I don't know, man.
I I don't know.
I don't even know what to say.
I it's as I mean, Colts Rams, that Colts dude, dude, that had
(01:13:54):
a touchdown and dropped the ballcelebrating before he hit the
goal line.
Really?
Why is this still a thing?
I have people have people notseen these highlights?
I mean, you and I lost afantasy championship last year
because a stupid ass CincinnatiBengals defender had a pick six
(01:14:16):
and dropped it before the goalline.
That's the only reason wedidn't win three grand.
Yeah.
The only reason.
Why is it still a thing?
Graham (01:14:28):
I I mean, I can't.
Anything that I will say willjust it's just gonna be BS, so
I'm just not gonna like the heatof the moment, all that it
doesn't matter.
Just be aware of yoursurroundings.
And like it it is what it is.
Scott (01:14:47):
Cross the goal line.
Graham (01:14:49):
Yeah.
I agree.
Scott (01:14:51):
Uh I just don't get it.
I completely agree.
So, anyhow, as we wrap up thisepisode, it was a fun episode.
A lot of golf talk.
Uh, do you know where, withoutlooking it up, show me your
hands?
Where is the next Ryder Cup onUnited States soil?
Graham (01:15:18):
I know this actually,
because there's only they only
had it at 8 million billboards.
It's uh what did uh inMinnesota.
It's uh good.
I know what it is.
It's um Hazeltine.
Yeah, Hazel team, yeah, yeah.
Scott (01:15:35):
Do you know where the
next one is after that?
Graham (01:15:40):
2032.
They had not uh no.
I saw the I saw the becausethey had big little billboard
scient cutouts.
I forgot where they said it'sgonna be after that.
Scott (01:15:53):
Uh Olympic Club.
Graham (01:15:55):
Really?
Scott (01:15:56):
Yeah.
Yep.
Graham (01:15:58):
It's a nice track.
Scott (01:16:02):
Can we just get a win in
Ireland, man?
Graham (01:16:07):
That's see, that's
another thing.
His heiress was there.
What he did, I have no idea.
Scott (01:16:14):
But of course he's there,
dude.
I mean, him and Keegan areboys.
Graham (01:16:18):
That's what I'm saying.
Like their swag bags, by theway.
Oh I saw a video of what theirswag bags were.
Oh my god.
Scott (01:16:28):
Oh, I'm sure it was did
you see the see the shoes that
Keegan and Luke Donald werewearing, both Jordans.
So sick, dude.
I know so sick.
Graham (01:16:42):
Like, so sick.
So sick.
Um, but yeah, look.
I tell you one thing.
If Tiger is not dialed in forSeptember, we'll call it 23
through 23 through 28 of 27.
Yeah.
(01:17:02):
Don't come home, bro.
Don't come home.
Stay over there for a few days.
Take your time, please.
Scott (01:17:12):
I I just he'll be f it'll
be good, dude.
I'm just Luke Donald might bethe European captain for the
next.
If I'm the European team, dude,I want Luke Donald as my
captain for the next 10 years.
Graham (01:17:28):
Yeah.
I I could keep their same team.
They're all young.
Scott (01:17:38):
Uh Rose.
Graham (01:17:39):
Oh, well, okay.
Scott (01:17:41):
Rose would be the next
coach.
He'll be the next captain.
Graham (01:17:44):
Yeah.
Scott (01:17:45):
For sure.
Graham (01:17:47):
But oh, you mean we're
not gonna have any controversy?
Oh, what Rory's not gonna be aplane captain?
Scott (01:17:56):
You know uh, Rory.
I'm not even gonna choke onyour lucky charms.
Dude, he's such a bitch.
He wasn't even on that in thatvideo on the bus, like, you
know, when in your head.
(01:18:16):
Yeah, he wasn't even sitting byhis wife.
Like, like some chick sittingbeside you, not even your wife.
Like, come on.
On a side note, did you seeShane Lowry on the table
celebrating he was dry humpingthe Ryder Cup trophy?
No, dude, greatest video I'veever seen in my life.
Graham (01:18:36):
Oh my god, I'm gonna
have to take a look at that
after the episode.
Ever.
Ever.
Scott (01:18:41):
That was hey, good for
Shane Lowry.
Won the British Open in hishometown, made the the putt, the
clinching point.
Do you see his reaction?
Graham (01:18:55):
Yeah, it's like he dude,
dude.
It's like he solved the world'sproblems.
Scott (01:19:01):
Dude, he was more excited
about that than when in the
open.
That's what the Ryder Cup meansto Team Europe.
Graham (01:19:13):
And that's and and and
we'll just leave it on this.
You saying that that's justkind of like I did see an
interview a little bit withScotty where he was just like,
he's like, guys, he's like, Itake this pretty he's like, I
take this very seriously, andjust like, yeah, you guys can
say that, but like they'recoming here, like the not that
(01:19:36):
this is our like not evengetting into all that, but I'm
just saying, like it's moreimportant to them than it is to
us.
You are not wrong.
And I I just like that look, isthis one of those scenarios
where you just gotta keep pokingthis the the sleeping bear to
(01:19:59):
finally where you you poke himhard enough and he's just like,
Alright, I'm awake now.
You have to you want to messaround to find out?
