What's going on?

My weekend was pretty chill.
We had One of my mom's cousinswas in town.
They were staying at atimeshare so we hung out and had
dinner with them On twoseparate nights.
Other than that, just beenreally watching the BMW
championship and been doing someerrands Because your boy is
getting some new equipment.
Very excited about that, notreally excited about jumping

into the deep end of Appleproducts, but it's been 42 years
of life and I guess now is thetime.
So I'm embracing it, I'm trying.
I don't know, I guess I'm notan Apple person.
You conned me into getting theiPhone.
I mean like, yeah, it's great.

Yeah, but once you have one and then you get a Mac, I
mean everything talks together.
I mean I'm not saying thatSamsung and all that shit
doesn't talk either.

Well, as we left everybody last week, I was kind
of talking about going toBaltimore for the BMW to hang
out with Romance and see my boyFowler, and did I think it was
going to happen?
No, I was talking about it.
You know, johnny called me lastweek and was like dude, let's
go.
Didn't really think about it.
Then we got off the show and Iwas talking to you and I'm like

let's look at some hotels, right?
You know, let's see what'sgoing on.
Well, I'm talking to myassistant in the golf shop on
Tuesday.
One of my members hears metalking about it and he goes are
you going to the tournament?
And I'm like I don't know.
Yet I've been looking at hotelsand he just stops me and he

goes if you go, you can have myhouse.
He goes, it's 20 minutes awayand I'm like I'm sorry what what
?
and he's like you can have myhouse.
He goes we haven't been therein three months, we've been down
here in the outer banks.
He goes nobody's there.
Take a couple buddies, you knowyou can have the house, I'll
give you the key tomorrow.
And okay, well, this just gotinteresting so.

So it all of a sudden becamereal.
And Paul Johnny, tuesday nighthe was like I'm down, when do
you want to leave?
I'm like leave early Fridaymorning, watch Friday, watch
Saturday.
I have to be back to work onSunday for a event at work.

right by the garage door where Ihave to walk over them to get

So leave at 6.15, get toJohnny's at 6.30.
And he's like dude, I mean I'min a t-shirt, like I'm going to
change, put on a golf shirt andstuff.
And I'm like and he's likeyou're wearing flip-flops.
I'm like, no, I got shoes inthe car About that.

And I'm like, oh dude, thankGod I only live 10 minutes away.

So this golf course is in the middle of nowhere.

tickets, with my PGA card.

I text Fowler, I'm like greatfor opening round, coming up
tomorrow with my dad and a buddyCan't wait to see you.
He texts me back awesome, Can'twait to see you guys.

I get the tickets from Romanoand it says where to park and
what to do.
I'm literally on 95 driving.
My dad can't see anything,Johnny can't see anything and
I'm buying this parking pass for30 bucks and it is what it is.
They tell us where to go.
Well, we go there.
There's no signs, there's noanything.

There's nothing.
There's a parking lot andthere's one bus in it.
There's like seven cars and acop sitting in the back of the
parking lot.
So finally we're like all right, we're going to go talk to the
cop.

Cop tells us where to go.

But no signs anywhere.
Okay, thank God we were early.
Romano told me what time to beon the range of the putting
green.
We're way early.
Right, it's all good.
We're finally on the shuttlebus, we're on the way, let's go.
Let's go.
Hotter than hogs balls, dude,it's like ridiculously hot.

We get to Cave Valley and getmy tickets.
Everything's fine and dandy.
First time there, Ask avolunteer where's the driving
range?
Steve tells us we go.
Gallivant reminder it's hotterthan shit.

I'm with my 70 plus year olddad, 66 67 year old john, and
everything's like this up downall.
So tell us where the range is.
No, no, goddang range.

Graham (09:08):
Saw that coming.

Scott (09:09):
Fowler, he's off at two.
It's now like we were onproperty Graham at 1240.
Okay, 1240.
Hour and 20 minutes before histee time.
And let me tell you, when wewent to where this dumb bitch
told us where to go, it was updown, all around, up around
again.
So then we asked somebody else.
They tell us where to go.

No can't find the range.
So at this point we've been onproperty for an hour plus.
My dad's shirt is soakedthrough sweat.
We've been up and down MountEverest 12 times.
It's 20 minutes to two and I'mlike screw the range through the

putting green.
Let's just go to the first teeright for some reason I don't
know, the bmw championship likerecognized the caddies and we
talked about the night beforewhere they announced the caddies
on the first tee and and I'mlike I've got to get a video of
them announcing Romano,absolutely.
So we get on the first tee,1.45,.
We got 15 minutes.
I'm like all right, at leastwe're here.

I'm bummed that I didn't get tohang out and you know,
introduce my dad to Rick andRick.
But whatever, it's Thursday, wegot another day.
So F.
So Fowler walks out of thetunnel because you know they
have a tunnel and you know theplace goes apeshit.
He's playing with JonathanVegas.
So Fowler walks out of thetunnel, everybody's going
apeshit and I see Fowler lookright at me.

He knew I was coming, obviouslybecause we talked.
He looks right at me, he givesme the tip of the cap, hits his
first tee shot, then Vegas hitsthe t-shot and they're walking
by and fowler looks at me.
He's like what's up?
Wah.
And romano's like dude, youmade it.
We've been looking for you allmorning.
I'm like dude, don't even getme started.
I'll tell you tonight at dinnerand he goes.

I told you it was the clusterto get in here.
I'm like it won't get in, bro.
It was the finding theangdriving range and stuff.
So, anyhow, we're off andrunning right, we're following
them and, dude, we get throughthree holes the first hole.
Second hole is par four.
Third hole is like this 200yards downhill, par three.

My dad's struggling.
I'm like, why don't you, let'sjust stay here and we'll cut
across, like we're were thinkingright over there is number four
, four green, and it's not so.
And we had already lost Johnny,like two holes in.
Johnny's gone.
I'm like, yelling at him.
He's just going down this hilland we're walking down this
concrete cart path.

That is like God dang a rollercoaster at Cedar Point.
So people always say walkingdown a hill is harder than
walking up a hill.
Well, let me just tell you thisI walked down this hill, signed
the catch up with John, my dad.
I told him we'll just meet youon whatever green that is.
You ain't walking down thisdamn thing, dude.

And I forgot to mention it's sohot, we literally haven't even
seen a tee shot yet.
And the dude right in front ofme, old guy, straight to the
ground, heat exhaustion right infront of me, damn.
Now I'm worried about my dad.
Of course, instantly Back tothis hole, this par five number
four.
You got to walk down this hill.

Walk up this hill.
Johnny's already gone.
I'm trying to catch him.
Dude, unbelievable, this placeright Up down.
You've been to Augusta.
Yeah, augusta is super hilly,but the thing about Augusta is
the greens and the tee boxes areright on top of each other.

The players in caddies got twocart rides from green to T,
that's how insane it is thatshit don't happen.

So, anyhow, we watch Rick andRick play the front nine and

then you know we got a timeoutright.
I'm like let's just go to the18th green, watch everybody come
in.
We'll catch Fowler and Rickwhen they're done.
So we did.
Anyhow.
I'm talking to Rick to removeme after the round.
We're trying to figure outwhere to go eat.
And he goes dude, how'd youlike that?
Golf course, I'm like dude.

You didn't tell me I needed acream to get up and down these
goddang hills.
And he goes dude.
Funny thing is, on like the14th hole, fowler looks at me
and he goes dude, I ain't seenScotty Watt for a while.
And I'm like ain't no chance,bro.
And he's like dude.
I mean, I'm 47 and was worn out.

I can only imagine John and mydad.
You know what I mean, Dude, itwas brutal.

You couldn't rent a scooter for them.

I mean it was smart both ways.

It was smart for him not to tell you it was, it was and
was I going to go regardless.

regardless, you know it doesn'tmatter, but anyhow did we go out
and have dinner.
You know, I haven't seen Romanosince you know the masters and
since the Masters that was whenhe had the little caddy bib on

So it was fun to hang out withRomano have dinner.
My dad had never met him,obviously, johnny hadn't met him

We sat there, dude, for two anda half hours just shooting the
shit, talking golf, talking theworld, talking adventures that
you, me and him had had in thepast.

He says well, if you would havetold me a month and a half ago
that you and I would be havingdinner right now at the BMW
championship, I would have toldyou you're a nut job.
After the season they had Right, just to get in the top 50 and
be at the BMW.

But he kept saying he goes,dude, this guy's hitting it so
good and he's working his assoff.
And you know all things thatI've told you and started
talking about some old storiesand on tour with different
players here and there and youknow it was a fun night.

Finally, we're like all right,it's time to roll.
Lady brings the tab and romanawhips out that card so fast,

And romana's like, no, I got ithere.

And I'm like, dad, yeah, letthe man get it.
He just made 70 Gs last week,right.
And my dad's like, oh, yeah,he's got this.
It was classic, dude, it wasclassic.
So you know, as we're leaving,I'm like all right, your tee
time tomorrow is at 1130 or 1230.

I'm like what time are yougoing to be on the putting green

He goes well, whatever.

We'll be there about an hourand a half before our tea time.

His tea time was 12 30yesterday, so we got.
He said we'll be there about 1115.
So we got to the putting greenaround 11 and I texted him like,
yo, we found the putting green,let's go.

And so him and Fowler show up,dude, about I don't know, 11, 20

And he like beelines itstraight for me and he goes yo,
we're going to have you guyscome on the range with us.
And I'm like, yeah, cool, we'regoing to watch you hit some
balls.
And he goes no, dude, likeFowler said, he didn't get to

hang out and talk with you muchyesterday, so we're going to
have you on the range, what?
And I'm like, oh damn, let's go, hello.
So he goes.
When we get done putting uphere, he goes.
Walk down to that area rightthere where that security guard
is in the rope, he goes, he'llwave you in.

Graham (18:07):
Next thing, you know, we're on the range.

Scott (18:09):
I mean, it was super sick , it was cool, it was.
It was the best thing about itis, you know, I haven't seen
fowler since the masters twoyears ago and it was just like
old days, dude.

was that cool to have my dad,who he's never met.

He's trying to get in the top30, to get exempt in all the
majors next year and not tomention move on to the tour

Jesus, here's Wah down there waggling club.
You know I'm grabbing his shitout of his bag messing around

And then I turned around and Ikept forgetting.

pictures we're going to be infrom little kids taking pictures
of the Fowler.

And he's like oh my God, I never thought about that.

Hey, you were the swing coach on Saturday at the range.

It was sick.
Third round of the BMW I mean,and the funny thing is Johnny
wore a Puma shirt that I gavehim and he goes, man.
These people in the crowd mightthink I'm like a big wig at
Puma.
I'm like it's probably goingthrough their minds.

So, as we're wrapping it up you know, romano was like
dude, we got to take a pictureof all of us to send out to the
fantasy football thread, ofcourse.
And I'm like, oh dude, we haveto, right.
So we got a couple pictures andI sent it to Kristen and
everybody.
And Kristen responds I've neverseen your dad smile that much.
He didn't even smile that muchin a goddang family picture.

So we're dying, right.
So we're wrapping up on therange and Fowler looks at me and
he goes hey, I'm going to go tothe other putting green for a
few minutes and then we'll walkover to the first tee together
and we'll go.
So we go to the other puttinggreen, he talks with his trainer
, this and that, and we're like,walking over to the first team,

he goes can I get you a beer?
Anything out of the locker room?
Y'all want some beers.
And I'm like no, how about somewaters?

I'm like it's too hot, it's too hilly, I don't want a
beer.
And he's like, all right.
And he goes in, grabs us somewater.
And we're just finishing up ourconversation and I'm talking to
him and all of a sudden, out ofleft field, he goes hey, scotty

And I turn around and it'sScheffler what?
And he goes hey, scott, I'mScott.

And we shake hands and it wasover, just like that, and my
dad's like son of a bitch I wastrying to get my phone out so

The worst part is, you know, scheffler would do it, he

I mean I was just like afterthat moment, you know, my dad

golf with you when you were afreshman in high school.
He told me I just played withthis kid that will be on the PGA
Tour and will win on the tour,and Rick was like, does your boy

It was so cool for my dad beingable to meet him and you know,

It made all the struggling upand down hills on thursday worth
it.

there's like that exclusivestuff that only, like, the

Isn't this, like you know, whenyou were talking about being on
the driving range and gettingthat photo, you know, for us you
could put it in the in ourfantasy league.

Amazingly, when you weretelling that, I'm just thinking
I'm like the only chance, ifpeople were even lucky enough to
get this photo.
But here's my point just to getthe photo would be one thing.
To do it on a Saturday, likethey're doing that in the Monday
pro-am.

And they paid 20 Gs to play in that.

Exactly Like that's a Monday at best case scenario.
The fact, as you were saying,this is Saturday of the BMW cuts
at 30.
You know, everyone is straightfocused and for Fowler'slers
like yeah, bro, I missed youyesterday, come on down, I got
you like, and romano kept sayingthis was all fowler's idea.
