Ces Gujaratis ont quitté l’Inde au 19ème siècle, poussés par les sécheresses et famines sur place, mais aussi par les opportunités commerciales dans l’Océan Indien 🌊
Les Zarabes arrivent à La Réunion à partir de 1860 pour répondre aux besoins d’une société tournée vers l’engagisme. Notamment en se spécialisant dans la vente de riz, de grains divers et de textile 🌾🧵
Les Karanes eux, arrivent à La Réunion dans les années 1970 en provenance de Madagascar 🇲🇬
