In this episode, I interview the first chairman of the modern Coushatta Tribe, Ernest Sickey. We discuss his life, work, and advice he has for the next generation of tribal leaders. This interview is the most valuable work I have done on this podcast so far, and I hope you can take some inspiration from our conversation.
Two minor corrections: Bel Abbey was my great uncle, not my great grandfather, and Maggie Langley was my great grandmother, not my grandmother. There are a few instances in the conversation where Ernest or I describe their relation to me incorrectly.
Thank you for listening. Please subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts for updates on future episodes. Share this with a friend who might be interested, too. Atoklo ma - until next time!
