Dear Friends of BCUC,Ever hosted a big party, spent money on food, days of preparation and wondered if anyone would show up?  Ever received an invitation to come to something?   Do you change your diary to make sure you’re there or do you say I’ll need to see what’s happening? It's the difference between writing it in your calendar in pencil or ink.Nothing much has changed in 2000 years and this is the experience that Jesus is drawing from when he talks about the Kingdom of God as a great feast which we are all invited to. Some will immediately write it in ink, others in pencil and others still will say ‘no' straight away. This Sunday we have a wonderful opportunity to invite other people to church. Either the service on Sunday morning or the Hakuna Matata choir concert on Sunday afternoon, 3pm. They arrived Wednesday night and have already performed at Seymour College, had an impromptu workshop with YAV and taught the BCUC Choir a song. They have such wonderful stirring sound which is big and full with joyous dance and lyrics full of worship to our God, you will surely be blessed. I wonder who you could invite?Hear from Jesus the challenge found in Luke 14:12-14Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbours; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”Your brother in Christ,Benji Callen
