Deserve a long weekend off? That's the provocative question at the heart of this raw, unfiltered discussion about what it truly takes to succeed in business and real estate.

The answer isn't simple. Those who've been consistently working hard, generating results, and building a strong pipeline of clients and deals have earned the right to enjoy some downtime. But for everyone else? The weekend represents another opportunity to outwork the competition.

My personal journey required extraordinary sacrifice – working seventy consecutive days for five straight years to develop true expertise in my field. This relentless dedication wasn't punishment; it was the investment required to master my craft and build sustainable success. Even now, success doesn't mean disconnecting completely. During a recent shore trip, I conducted three listing appointments by phone while driving, joined a conference call with a potential vendor, and maintained business momentum throughout what others might consider "time off."

This isn't about glorifying hustle culture or burning yourself out. It's about understanding that in competitive fields, every opportunity you pass on becomes someone else's advantage. While you disconnect for three days, others are advancing their businesses, connecting with prospects, and solving problems. The harsh reality? Success isn't something that happens to you – it's something you create through consistent action and dedication.

Take an honest look at your business momentum. Are you where you want to be? Have you put in the work necessary to earn a break? Or are you finding excuses and blaming external factors for lack of progress? The question isn't whether you deserve time off in some abstract moral sense – it's whether your business is positioned where taking time off is a strategic choice rather than a setback. Your answer lies not in what you want, but in what you've built through your efforts so far.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Do you deserve a long weekend off?
I think that is a debatablequestion.
I believe that if you have beendoing the work, putting in the
time, you got results, you havea lot of business right now and
a lot of clients and a lot ofgreat stuff going on, sure you

(00:25):
deserve some time off to enjoythe holiday weekend.
But if you do not, if you donot have the pendings and the
closings lined up and newlistings coming on or whatever
it is that you do, new clientssign, then you work For years
and years and years.
I worked Five years in a row, seventy straight, literally,

(00:49):
because I wanted to be an expertin the marketplace.
I wanted to learn the businessand know it and have mastery and
I put the time in, I put thework in.
I still, to this day, put thetime and the work in, just
pulling in down the shore andthe whole entire way.

(01:10):
Here I was on conference callsand Zoom, still working.
I had no three listingappointments on the phone on the
way down and I had a conferencecall with a potential new
vendor.
And so you know, you thinkabout it.
You're like oh okay, it's LaborDay, it's not Labor Day, it's
Memorial Day.
I'm just going to not doanything for three days.

(01:32):
What the fuck?
No, that's not how it works.
If you don't have the businessthat you need to succeed, you
should be putting the time inBecause, guess what, there are
people that are and that will, and they'll get the
opportunities and you won't.
I have two listing appointmentstomorrow morning on the phone
and I'm meeting up with somecoffee dates this weekend

(01:55):
business related.
So still working stuff and, yeah, I'll have some down time
as well.
We also have a lot ofproperties that we're working on
selling right now, a lot of newlistings coming in, a lot of
stuff that's pending to close.
So, yeah, I've been doing thework.
So I asked you have you beendoing the work and do you really

(02:19):
deserve the time off thisweekend?
You're gonna be a victim andblame everybody else because you
are not succeeding.
That, my friends, is up to you.
Happy Friday.
