In Episode 29 of The Avery Trial, we hear more from Sergeant Colborn and find out how the key to Teresa Halbach's vehicle was discovered - and the timeline that seems a bit fishy.
Colborn claims he was shoving a bookcase back in place in Steve Avery's tiny bedroom when all of a sudden, Lieutenant Lenk pointed out the key. But with Calumet Deputy Kucharski nearby, distracted and writing a report, was anyone actually watching Lenk? And if Colborn didn’t see the key fall, how did it suddenly appear—days into the investigation?
We also get a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes power dynamics: how closely Lenk and Colborn worked, their ties to the Avery lawsuit, and even Colborn’s concern about being named a defendant in Steven Avery's civil lawsuit against Manitowoc County.
It can't help much either with honest testimony while Investigator Wiegert is present in the courtroom every day. We can’t help but ask—how much pressure were these officers under, and how much could they really say?

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
