What do you do when you notice you want to know your neighbors? But what if you live in a culture where neighbors don't talk to each other and don't even see each other most days in a given year?

For Chelsea Roberts and her husband, the answer was to plant a church. This was especially bold, given the spiritual climate of where they live in Canada. But for Chelsea, it had everything to do with valuing people and relationships.

On this episode of Bear the Light, we talk about:

* How hard it is to meet one's neighbors in the area where they live

* How hot chocolate on Halloween, Canadian hockey culture, and Facebook have provided ways of getting to know the strangers in her city

* Why the anonymity of serving far away was tempting and easier for her to imagine for her life but how she eventually came to see she was meant to stay right where she was

* What the process of discerning a church plant can look like

* How hard it can be to see a vision for your life when you've never seen it modeled before

* The challenge of loving people and that which can't be measured in a culture that values numbers and glossy finishes

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
