Guess who's turning 46 and celebrating their 46th podcast all at once? That's right, it's a double-whammy of festivities in this episode, and you're invited to the party. We're popping the proverbial champagne as I regale you with tales of my whimsical birthday adventures and the surprise hilarity my dad added to the mix. A Steve Aoki concert might spell out getting 'birthday caked' in the most literal sense, while my wife's anniversary gift—a stunning John Hardy ring—proves that love shines as bright as ever. But the fun doesn't stop there; I also muse about the summer concert scene and the blend of excitement and trepidation that comes with choosing the perfect concert buddy.

Shifting gears, I'm thrilled to share a career milestone that's more satisfying than the richest buttercream frosting—a leap into the top 500 of 18,000 real estate agents. It's a toast to tireless determination and the power of community support. As I gear up for the illustrious 500 Club banquet, expect insights from a keynote speaker whose special forces background guarantees a tale of resilience. But it's not all about the accolades; get ready for a heartwarming recounting of helping a dear friend's family navigate the tender waters of real estate during a difficult time, a poignant reminder of the profound impact our work can have on the lives of others.

probably get licked all night.
Okay, we're on to something.
Just saying we're on tosomething, say hey, you want to

I'll try to get it up as closeas I can.

(03:40):
It is a high-quality, beautifulring, dude, john Hardy.
And so my wife, finally, Ithink.
I think she just wanted to makesure that I was all in.
She was just claiming you dothis guy's taken.
It took her two years.

(04:01):
Well, I've been wearing just amotorcycle band with crosses on
it for my wedding ring, justsome cheesy chintzy thing.
And, yeah, she pulled thetrigger and got me an eye of the
tiger.
That is gorgeous.
Look at this Eye of the tiger.
Oh, my gosh, dude, good job, lisa, beautiful, good job, baby

(04:22):
Beautiful ring.
Really, really, really, really, good job, lisa, beautiful, good
job, baby Beautiful.
Really, really, really, really, really happy about that.
I saw it and I'm all.
Somebody loves you.
Yes, well, I love her too.
Yep, went and ate a little sushilast night in a little bam
chicky, bam town Blues concert.
Yeah, that's what it was Just ablues concert.

(04:49):
That's what it was just a bluesconcert.
Yeah, nope, we do have somekiller blues coming up, dude.
Yeah, uh, and I'm excited forthis summer because I got the
long pass, dude.
Dude, I wish you had told meabout it.
I got two, okay, sweet, and weall, we already know why do I
need one?
Right, because we both knowthey're going to be like hey, I

(05:09):
saw who Alicia was last week.
She's this little five foot two, right, beautiful girl.
Who's this 300 pound gorillayou are.
Hey, I got divorced and I gotremarried.
Wow, you downgraded, dude, bigtime, big furry, something bean.
Yeah, I'm a lover, though I'm agiver.
Oh boy, I do not want youfreaking, spooning me, hugging

(05:32):
me.
I'll take a hug here and there.
You'll be hot, dude, but don'tmaul me.
Yeah, especially right now.
I'm a bit of a hurting unitright now.
This whole remodel, I promiseyou, his name is Brant Wilcox

(05:53):
and he's a structural.
It is muscular, it is muscular,it's not muscular, I promise
you.
I promise you don't know morethan me on this one.
Well, I don't know much, but Iknow this guy knows his shit.
That's what I'm saying I'lltell you what.
So Lacey is going to set me upan appointment.
I'm going to go in and Iguarantee you they're going to
do an MRI or at least x-rays,yeah, and they're going to see

(06:15):
the damage I did to my body inthat bike wreck and I promise
you, oh, this might be anothersurgery or something.
I promise you it's not muscular.
No, I'm sorry, bro, like it's.
It's pissed off discs that arecutting off blood blood supply.

(06:35):
Okay, that's what it is, okay, well, yeah, then go get that
visit.
So you gotta check it outbecause you gotta sleep, bro.
Holy cow, dude, it was so.
I was so miserable last night,up and down and moving around,
oh, my gosh, like I would sleepfor 10 minutes and literally
wake up and my whole arm wouldbe completely numb.
And you know how, when your legor something falls asleep, how

(06:55):
it just aches from my and it'sit's these three fingers are are
completely dead.
Like I couldn't even button myown shirt this morning.
My wife had to button my shirt.
I'm not kidding, I couldn'tfeel it.
You must have really overexertedyourself last night.
Yeah, you're welcome, Lisa.

(07:17):
Try to keep it somewhat clean.
And it is my wife that was.
I'm talking about you too,right?
So, anyways, yeah, I've got, uh, it's just.
I'm just irritating the shitout of it day after day after
day, hour after hour right now.

(07:37):
But hey, you know what?
The the build's almost done.
It's almost done.
We finished up all the paintingof all the trim.
There is a little tiny bit ofpainting, just, you know, and
I'm gonna wait to do it becausethe movie and you'll have more
to do.
I'll have more to do from thewalls being banged, but I filled
all the holes and just havelittle touch-ups that'll take
ten minutes to go on and coverup, but got all the doors hung

(08:01):
yesterday and I got to put hardway missing doors.
No, no, no, that's always fun.
That's always fun.
Like, where does this one?
We even added a new one withNate and we were smart, cause
down at the very beginning, atthe very front, is a closet that
you never see, you know.
And uh, so the pattern of ourdoors you can't get anymore

(08:25):
because it's, I mean, they justdon't make them, or I guess you
could probably make a custom one, but it would cost a ton of
money, hell, no.
So, anyways, nate ordered theexact same size door because he
built that closet and weswitched that door with the door
downstairs.
So upstairs, everything matches.
And then there's the one doorthat I guarantee nobody would

(08:47):
ever even notice it.
Is it the one where you walk inand your door opens and then
you go right upstairs?
Yeah, nobody will see it.
Nobody will see it.
No, so it's got a differentpattern.
But again, you'll never know.
Cool.
But yeah, I think Jordan Kent, the electrician, is going to
come out and finish up his dealand got some fun stuff.

(09:09):
Now that we're wrapping it up,I'll do a really cool video and
really show it off.
Yeah, just a little bit ofcaulking.
I got to put up the shower doorin the master.
You're a master caulker, I'm amaster caulker.
This is what we do when we'reworking together.

(09:31):
Is there an L in there?
Well, the L could be silent, all right, all right, we haven't
even been drinking, just coffee, yeah, just coffee.
So anyways, yeah, I'm pretty'mpretty excited, dude, that we're
uh, that we're on the tail endof this thing.

(09:54):
Awesome, my lovely wife hiredsome uh movers, so thank god I
don't have to.
Yeah, bro, like I've seriouslybeen dreading it.
Yeah, but yeah, I think that,uh, I think it'll all be good.
I think we're going to all comehelp you on Wednesday, right?

(10:14):
Yeah, it'll be nice, just forthe smaller things and whatnot.
But yeah, just that's kind ofbeen my life for the last
freaking month and a half or twomonths.
Yeah, it'd be good to get youdown and back.
Dude, I'm over it.
I'm over it.
I need to get back in here andget back on track and I need
some business people.
So if any of you out there knowanybody that is going to buy or

(10:37):
sell real estate, man, reachout, throw me a bone.
Absolutely, I've been sofocused on this stupid condo
that that, well, it's not stupid, but this condo that I've got
to, I got to get my, I got toget my game back on what you got
going on.
Today you have somethingspecial going on.
Yeah, you know, I talked aboutit a couple of episodes ago.

(10:57):
I made the Realtor 500 Club.
Basically, there's what?
18,000 agents, top 500.
That's pretty good.
And I made one of the top 500.
I don't know what that numberis the top 500.
I don't know what that numberis, but it'd be interesting to
know what that number.
I don't know what thatpercentage is, but you're in the
top one or two percent of thevalley in production.

(11:18):
No, I mean, like of the 500, Iwonder what number I hit.
Yeah, but they don't tell youright and you'd never know,
right.
It would be interesting, yeah,to see if I'm in the bottom half
, but that's quite the feat, honestly, especially with the
kind of year it's been this lastyear a lot of the uncertainties
in the market.
Yeah, it was a rough year, man,but you slayed it Well.

(11:40):
Thank you.
A lot of support from yourfriends and crowd, man.
My people are freaking amazing.
This is more of an honor tothem than it is to me.
To be honest with you, dude, Iwould have never pulled the
numbers and did what I did if ithadn't been for all my people
out there, my VIP 50 andeverybody just showing me love

(12:03):
man.
So thank you to you guys.
I really, really appreciate youand because of you, I made the
500 Club and they're havingtheir banquet today and that's
why we started this a little bitearly, because that starts at
10.
So I'm going to go down.
I've never gone to any of thebanquets.
I've been in it for six yearsand never gone.

(12:27):
Yeah, pretty incredible thatyou've been able to do that
ongoing, ongoing like that.
Yeah, it's been awesome dude.
It is awesome dude.
Yeah, pretty pretty happy aboutit.
So, uh, yeah, I'm gonna we'regonna keep this a fairly short
uh episode and and, uh, I'mgonna boogie down there and see
what's happening.
That's great, man.
I guess they have a speaker andyou, you said that one year the

(12:49):
speaker was the guy thatactually shot.
That was so cool, yeah, beingable to listen to his story of
him going in and, yeah, the, thespecial forces guy, bin Laden,
the guy actually did he shoothim or did he just get him?
Shot him?
Oh, wow, yeah, can you imaginebeing?

(13:10):
Yeah, he was part of the.
There's only one.
He was a, he was one of thespecial ops guy that that
literally went in, went back inand through the home back to
where he's at, shot him.
Wasn't he in some kind of holeor something come out blasting
at him or something I can'tremember, but there I mean,
obviously you would know hewould be protected.
So, yeah, well, it was.
It took something to get to him.
I'll bet it it did.
But I have a couple of funlittle.

(13:31):
I have two new listings cominglive this next week.
Nice One's a Dude.
Talk about slaying it.
You're doing good, brother.
I'm trying to turn it on, man,I'm following the lead and
turning it on and really tryingto dig in.
Better, watch out.
I'm coming to get you Trying todig in with my crowd as well,
and out, I'm coming to get youtrying to dig in with my crowd
as well.

(13:52):
Um, and that's it's.
You know, I'm not not supercomfortable asking the crowd for
biz the way you know I'mlearning to do with you, which I
appreciate.
Dude, our people love us, theywant to help.
It's my own, it's my own hang up.
It's I don't know what, I don'tknow what the hell it is, but
yeah, but, but it's, you know,it's the.
It's it's difficult, butanyways, but so I have.
I have a, a client.
It's, it's a, it's the.
It's.
It's difficult, but anyways,but so I have.
I have a client.
It's, it's a, it's a tender one.

(14:13):
Um, I've actually worked withher a couple of times over my
career.
Um, it's one of my dear friendsis mom.
Uh and uh, fun story.
I actually.
I remember the last while I'veI've I tried to help her sell.
In between, um, there stuffgoing on and we weren't able to
sell.
The market didn't quite get towhere we needed to be to be able

(14:33):
to sell it last time around, in17.
But anyways, I remember I wasactually on my way with Melissa,
my ex-wife, and we were on ourway.
We had an appointment to go inDeuce for Bella's birth.
Oh, and it was on the way.
On the way I got to go showthis woman a home.
On the way, and on the way allthe way, all the way to birth,

(14:54):
you're like, hey, baby, holdthat for a minute, let me make a
quick stop here, pause.
We got a shopping to do.
Are you kidding me?
No, no, I, I told, I told myfriends that story while we were
sitting there talking abouttheir house and, you know,
helping them sell it.
And anyways, I, you know whatthis is another fun scenario,
because that's not a funsituation but I'm getting to go

(15:15):
in and handle that, be strongand help them through that.
Yeah, handle that piece oftheir life and business and
that's one less thing they haveto worry about.
Yeah, I love it, dude, love it,love it.
Yeah, she was a sweetheart ladyand she'll be missed.
So I get to go see experiencemy first synagogue funeral on
Sunday.
Oh, okay, I'm actually going togo support my buddy, but go

(15:39):
experience something new and geta little bit of culture.
I think, what about ourBluffdale one?
When are they going to go live?
That one I keep touching in.
It's a great property as well.
It's over in the independent.
I'm actually excited on thatone.
Yeah, it's just shy of 4 000square feet.
Uh, you know big two-story uh,fully finished.
They did all the upgradesbecause he worked for dr horton,

(16:00):
so it's this beautiful property.
Anyways, we'll be around that800 000 range.
Um.
I've called through theneighborhood.
We've got several buyers whoare actually going to come to
the open house that live intownhomes next door to it.
When's the open house?
Well, I've got to get it live,I've got to get it active.
Just keep talking to them.
This is unfortunately a divorce, yeah, and they're just
managing through Timing,decluttering and timing.

(16:22):
So it'll probably be.
Won't be this weekend, I'll betit'll be next weekend, the
following weekend.
So we got some open houses.
Gabe will be busy there and Igot to go show some houses with
uh megan.
Megan was referred to me from uhjen wright, my, my good friend.
That's the uh.
She does the, the um lending.

(16:42):
She does lending, but she'salso a pastor and and is with
people as they pass hospiceright, yeah, yeah, like she's
there with them.
Wow, yeah, like biggest heart, big heart, absolutely, that's a
calling.
Yeah, jen, love you man.
Yeah, love you jen.
You're freaking amazing.
So, anyways, yeah, it's been.

(17:03):
Uh, you know, even with my,with my focus being on the, on
the condo, it's, life's stillgood, dude.
Yeah, life's good, life's great.
My body's a little pissed off,but other than that, it's it's.
You know, I mean, I'm actuallyexcited about the move and to
get settled and you know you'dbe so damn close to your best
friends.
Well, you know, as far aswork-wise, it's it's sixes to

(17:28):
drive here where I'm living indraper.
Uh, the biggest difference isis in draper.
If I had to go to utah countyfor for showings or listing
appointments, it was quicker.
Yeah, oh well, oh well, I meanwe really do, and you know this.
We pretty much drive up toCenterville once a week to go

(17:49):
hang out with them, minimum oncea week.
Yeah, the Schultzes and Jonesesand good ones.
It's not changing my visit cityat all.
By the way, I got to do this.
Shout out Reed, nice, nice, baby, nice.
I'm so happy for you.
What's going on?

(18:10):
Reed got a divorce and hisex-wife is not a very pleasant
person.
I'll leave it at that.
So celebrate him getting loose.
She's a narcissist, oh, okay.
And she was cohabitating withher.
Now husband and my buddy Reeddid the right thing and hired

(18:33):
the right people and was able toprove it, and she had to pay
him back for a full year ofalimony and it couldn't happen
to a better person.
Sweet justice, dang tootin forreal, dang toot, yeah, wow.
So, anyways, I'm really happyfor you, buddy.
Congrats, dude, yep, yep, and,and he is the nicest guy on the

(18:56):
planet.
So I'm really happy that thathe and his new wife stood up and
didn't get pushed around bythis person.
Heck, yeah, that's a win.
Love you, baby.
All righty brother, you gotanything else?
Yeah, no, I think I'm justexcited about this upcoming week
and I know Gabe's got an openhouse this weekend that he's

(19:19):
doing.
Yeah, I think that's about itright now.
But we have a mixer coming up.
Have we figured out where it'sgoing to be at?
I'm pretty sure it's going tobe at the Piper.
I've been chatting with them.
I mean I haven't got a hardconfirmation, but it sounds like
that's probably when it's.
St Paddy's.
You know month.
This will be right before, thiswill be on the 14th of March

(19:43):

(20:05):
But, guys, this is a good one, this is a local.
This is going to be a good one, locals for locals, local people
taking care of local.
So why don't you tell them aboutthat charity?
Well, little miracles isbasically, you know, it's little
, they do little, little, littlebig miracles, cause I mean it's
single, single parenthouseholds, I mean single

(20:26):
mothers, right?
No, it's just, it's just flatout.
Um, it's not always singleparents, it's, it's people that
that that like locally nominated.

(20:49):
I went out with one where thelady had adopted or had placed
with her multiple, multiplechildren and teenagers, with all
kinds of issues, and basicallywhat they do, guys, is they roll
in and in a day they completelyremodel their home.
I've seen this where they'vegone in and they've put mean,
they've put in bedroom furniture, outfit, outfit for the
children, put in living roomslike pouring paint, yeah, like
sheetrock, building kitchens, Imean.
They've got tradesmen and allkinds of people all show up and

(21:13):
descend on the house at one timeand take care of these.
Everybody donates time andmoney and and care of these.
Everybody donates time andmoney and and stuff.
Yeah, that's so cool.
This will be a fun one.
I'm excited I am.
Let's have her on the weekbefore.
Yeah, let's try to do that.
Let's do that.
Okay, let's have them both onher and t on.
Okay, that'd be awesome.
