(00:00):
So North Carolina has a scholarship too, from K through
12. That's from the state.
Apparently Texas is getting thattoo.
So maybe we'll. Be not liking that, that's not a
good thing. It's not a good thing to get
free money. No, it's it.
It's not a good thing for homeschoolers.
A North Carolina they give you if you're homeschool too.
Yeah, with some money, but they're Yeah, you getting
(00:20):
getting money means that the government has control over what
you teach. The whole reason a lot of us
home school is to get away from all that shit.
I hate public speaking and I was.
I got through it, you did. And I'm now just like Zen.
I'm very relaxed today. The most fearful things that
people are scared of is one public speaking and death.
(00:44):
Yes, seriously y'all, I'm still kind of I'm trying to like would
process all this shit that this is the end of an era.
The final. Yeah, yeah, it's, yeah.
For me, it was like a prayer answered when when she said, oh,
I had been thinking of a podcastlike me too.
I've been wanting to happen for years.
(01:06):
You know, I think it was the right timing to start 1 and it
was the right two people to host.
I really do. What is one of your, I guess,
big takeaways from the podcast? Takeaways.
I would. Say hi, everyone.
Welcome back to Beauty Bound with your host, Crystal Rubio.
(01:31):
And before I, you know, I let her introduce herself and say
anything about herself. Today is our last recording with
Jackie. OK.
So I was saying it was the last as well, but it's not the last
because I'm going to be back. This is our last like ongoing.
(01:52):
Yeah, I, yeah, like, I think that and that's, yeah, it's our
last official, I guess season. It's our last, OK, so it is our
last season together officially, but I, I am speaking it now.
I will be back. I will be back guys, because
(02:15):
like we had such a great two years yes and I'm I'm not going
to cry no, no, I like talking myself out of it.
We've had such a great past two years and it has been just like
(02:37):
so fun and so good. And I have we have met so many
people on this podcast, like so many inspirational people and
we've had such great conversations and got such great
feedback from you guys. Even at glow and gather, we had
a couple people reach out to letJoyce thank you for watching.
(02:59):
Oh, I'm like. Everybody who came up to us like
that, I'm. Sorry, there are so many names.
Yeah, But Joyce in particular, like we have been just.
I was finally able to meet you. We've been messaging back and
forth, like, thank you for all the love.
Thank you. Thank you and everyone else, if
we didn't see you at the event, like thank you, yeah, thank you
(03:20):
for watching us, even if you're local, not local.
It was amazing. I appreciate you guys.
It was really cool to like, havepeople come up and say like, oh,
like, I feel like I know you, you know, And that was like my
first experience of that. I am so glad we have been so
relatable to you guys. Like we're not robots.
If we were, we are malfunctioned.
Or we were, Yeah, we were created wrong.
(03:45):
But no, honestly, OK, well, first of all, I hate public
speaking. And I was, I got through it.
And I'm now just like Zen. I'm very relaxed today just
because like, that's just one ofmy fears.
And I was talking to my manager on the way over here and she's
like, you know, that's like the number one, no, like #1 and 2,
(04:10):
the most fearful things that people are scared of is one,
public speaking and death. Yes, seriously.
They're neck and neck and she's like, for some people are like,
yeah, I'd rather die than get up.
Oh my gosh, yeah. I hate public speaking.
Yes. So obviously because it is our
(04:31):
last season where we're going tobe doing, you know, and like I
said, anytime that she comes into town, like, you know,
obviously I'll have her on, but I wanted to do something special
for you. And so I know you like
charcuterie boards. Oh my God.
So I got a little charcuterie board for us to eat while we're
(04:52):
on the pod, but I got you some tips.
Treats. I stopped by this morning and so
the cookies are actually warm. I have never had tips, treats.
Oh man, they're so good. And then the little mini
cupcakes. Thank you for all this.
Yeah. So I don't even know what to
dive into first. Or is this this another mukbone?
Right, that's. I was going to invite Crystal to
(05:14):
lunch after at least. Yeah, I told her we have to go
to Sephora and pick up Pam's. I said I had met.
Pamela's makeup routine and I it's funny, I was, I didn't tell
Pam this. I was screenshotting each like.
Oh, my gosh, each slide. I had asked her last week when I
(05:34):
was there, I was like, all right, tell me what foundation
do you? I didn't get the foundation she
used only because and I have my color and I needed something
right away. Yeah, but I still like kind of,
you know, I went along with how she does her makeup.
Dude, my makeup has been lastingall day long.
My foundation has been lasting all day long.
Do you want to take it out of the?
Box Yeah. Oh, oh, duh.
I just started like reaching him, OK?
(05:59):
So this time I got a, It was supposed like aesthetically
pleasing neutral colours. Oh, cute.
Yeah. So I love cheese.
Me. Oh, there's, there's, I mean,
I'm not a pickle lover, so I didn't know it came with
Pickles. I don't know if you love.
Pickles. No, I can't stand the smell but.
(06:24):
I'm like pushing pushing it awaytowards crystals.
Open the crackers bro. My cat loved the charcuterie
too. Thank you Glam House Co.
Oh my gosh, open the crackers bro.
Oh, I'm sorry. OK, first announcement.
(06:45):
First announcement. I have made so I'm the creator
of esthetics into San Antonio. As you all know, I've made a
Fayetteville chapter and I've just made it 10 minutes ago.
No shit, I told you you needed to do it.
I was like, I've been again. The reason why I started it
(07:06):
here? I was trying to get fucking
answers. And nobody's there to answer
questions. Right, I said you bitches, we're
we're doing this shit again. So estheticians of Fayetteville
just it's just as it is esthetician of Fayetteville.
The cover photo is cute and it'sa little like North Carolina
(07:28):
State outline, so you know it's Fayetteville, NC and not another
city somewhere else. And that's just kind of my theme
for estheticians. San Antonio I have a Little
Texas state on the cover photo. Oh man, that was spicy.
Estheticians of America, which is a page I made and I always
(07:49):
forget about and well, instead of the US like country line, I
just did the American flag. Nice and patriotic.
Why not? I like stars and the other shit.
So Stars and Stripes, that's. The other shit?
They're just funny meme where it's like it's Ellen and and I
(08:11):
fucking hate Ellen, sorry, but it's like, so how's your husband
doing? And then the the the the guest
is like Chris, Chris, right? Oh my gosh.
Wait, who's the guest? I just know the meme or not the
(08:31):
meme, sorry, the the real I'll, I'll, I'll just it'll make sense
if I actually show you because it's just funny.
For a minute I was about to panic because I thought I'd
impress record, but I did. That would have been horrible
because I never get emotional emotional on this.
I I don't have any emotion. Sorry, I stuffed my face.
I didn't realize. You were just sorry you're like
(08:54):
that. You were just going to pick back
up. Yeah.
So you have. Did you find it?
Was this good? Did you not like this?
You didn't like it? Does it taste nasty?
Oh, it smells weird. I'm sorry.
(09:15):
I'm just like, yes, it was obvious that it was this one is
a is a little better. Yeah, we were talking to Gabby
about her trip to Nice to to France.
She's going to have real fromage, not this bullshit.
I'm. Sorry.
(09:40):
Oh my gosh. As you could tell, we're having
fun. We should.
Hell, we should just go to MosheShushu for lunch.
Where's that? It's downtown.
No, it's at the Pearl. The Pearl is that downtown?
I was talking to weird when we had Brianna, she was going to
(10:02):
Nona's and I was like, oh man, jealous.
And there's I was telling, forget how we started talking
about bread and cheese, but I was like at Monster Shoe they do
like the it's called the Rick Ricklett or something different,
some bullshit like that. And that.
It's like cheese, Yeah, it's half a baguette.
(10:23):
And the cheese, like it's melting like on the baguette.
So you're having like this bread, this baguette with
cheese. That sounds like a very lavish
dinner. That's just an appetizer.
Holy shit, damn, it's. Just an appetizer.
(10:46):
I don't look as expensive. It's just like.
It sounds expensive. A freaking baguette with cheese.
I know, but because of how they're doing it and like the
way that they're serving, serving it up.
I got a video just like anyways. She has a food orgasm guys,
every time that she talks about this.
(11:09):
I really wanted to get stationedin Europe, but that did not
happen. Because Tyler didn't want to,
no. He didn't want to go to Germany,
unfortunately, so we're going toFayetteville instead.
I'm sure now he wishes he would have just chosen Germany, right?
He actually was saying that he was like, well, Frick it is.
(11:34):
He almost like put it in as a preferred spot, but then he was
like no, no, no, if I do that then they will send me there.
No shit. Like, because no one really
wants to leave the country, really.
I kept telling him, babe, we gotto go to Vicenza, Italy.
That's the base I want to go to.Yeah, put in for it.
(11:56):
Above Venice. Imagine that would be so cool.
I can't. I'd be in like paradise.
Seriously, could you get you could get your license out
there. In like parts of Europe, it's
like a four year degree, four year like licensure to become an
esthetician. Yeah, I know it's like that in
(12:19):
like Germany, but no certain like countries are.
So is it like? They're serious.
Are you almost like a doctor andshit?
No, you're still, you're still. Well, I don't know what the
scope is out there. I don't know how much you can
really do. Yeah, do doing facials for
people. No, probably a lot, right?
(12:40):
Yeah, I had a person come from. Was this good?
I think I thought it was better than the other cheese.
It's an acquired taste. I really do think it's acquired.
I'm going to try this one now the that. 1 is really good.
The pepper Jack. Yeah, I love Pepper Jack.
(13:02):
So what are your little announcements?
Sorry, you said I have little announcements.
Oh, that was hot water is. It going to make it worse.
(13:22):
Oh wait, I see it. I do not do like any kind of
space. Oh.
That was a whole, what is it a whole thing of unfortunate
(13:42):
events right now? Oh my God.
No, look what I just did. Oh.
No, I don't want to see. Oh, your pinky toe, the one that
has the the blister. Oh, what the hell, Jackie?
Oh, that hurt. Oh, Oh my God.
(14:03):
Stinging will go. That was just.
Like a one thing happened, a return of unfortunate events.
A series unfortunate events. I also signed up me and Tyler in
an Internet competition without him knowing and did.
(14:26):
You guys win. I, no, so I, I was, so we did it
on the way to California or well, I did it secretly and I
was like, I won't tell them unless we like actually like
make it because the odds are pretty, pretty low, right?
So I found out on the way back after vacation that we had
gotten selected and I was like, what?
I was like, Oh my gosh, babe. So don't get mad.
(14:50):
But. I, you know, signed us up in a,
in a competition. He's like, what?
Where do we have to go for it? I'm like in the freaking
military. I said, no, I think it's just
voting. And grand prize is $20,000.
What? And a cover on variety.
And I was like, OK, let's do this and.
(15:12):
That is awesome. We made the the first couple
rounds. Probably when this airs, we'll
find out if we had won or not. We find out if we make top ten
this Thursday. So see how it goes.
I've been posting about it. I voted oh, thank you.
(15:34):
I posted about it, but I at first I, I really didn't have
like high hopes. I was like, we'll just see how
it goes. I feel like some people have
forgotten like the other competitors we have like this
dashboard where we kind of chat and I don't know, it's going
good. It's interesting that.
'D be cool if you want 20 round.I don't care.
(15:56):
I mean, well, I do care about the money.
Sorry. I'm just like, what if I was in
a magazine? You're like, that's what I care
about. Wouldn't that be something but.
That would be cool. But yeah, it's, it's
interesting. We're in.
We're in the fifth spot somehow,but I don't know.
(16:19):
I was, I was talking about it last night.
I said what? What?
What is this in the fifth spot? That's awesome.
I'm. Like, Oh my God.
You have a chance. We were in 8th for like the
longest time, even that it was shocking to me.
But then I looked yesterday, I think as I posted on my main
page, I, I was embarrassed to post about it on my business
page and then I did. But then we went to 5th.
(16:42):
So I was like, OK, that that worked out.
Yeah, I don't need to be embarrassed.
That's cool. Thank you.
So wish us luck. Sorry.
I have like food in my mouth now, that's all.
I'm quiet. Wish us luck.
ASMR. I've also contacted a nursing
(17:02):
school in Fayetteville. Oh shit, finally.
That had been a plan of mine fora while.
We hadn't even talked about going to school together the
last year. This.
The ones in San Antonio were a little ghetto and well, I'm
(17:23):
sorry, not ghetto. Interesting, but it actually
works out because North Carolinaoffers a lot of scholarship
opportunities within the state, so I might be able to get a
scholarship to try and go for myassociate's degree in nursing.
So I'm really excited about that.
(17:43):
Wait, but you already have your bachelors, A lot of your classes
could transfer over. Yes, at least 2 will transfer
over. That's it.
That's. It.
What about your Gen. heads? So I never took anatomy one or
(18:03):
two. So those ones I had to.
You have to take my psycho. So my psychology class,
psychology classes do transfer over.
It's like a 5 semester program, but I think with my transfers I
might only be 4. So and that's like 4 semesters
is like very doable, very very doable.
(18:25):
So. RN or.
Yes. So I considered LVN at first or
sorry over there, it's LPN licensed practical nurse.
I did consider that because it'sonly a year long but honestly I
said two more semesters and on my and I have my RN.
Why not? Because if I had to do it all
(18:45):
over again it would be another probably 2 years.
Because LPNS work or learn a little differently because
they're more for nursing homes and places like that.
I mean they still learn the samelife saving life saving
procedures though that a regularnurse does.
But not everything, because there's still a lot like the
(19:07):
administration of medication andall that well and Ivs.
No, they still learn all that, I'm pretty sure.
I think that's the only similar thing.
There's just a little thing, just a little differences
between the two. Maybe we can have a nurse on
here and tell us like the step by step.
But when I was looking at comparing both the courses, it
(19:28):
was mainly like just nursing forthe LPNS and then for for the
ADN program, which yes ADN and BSN cause Desiree is like don't
you need your bachelor's? Like you don't schools just want
more money and they want you to go for the bachelor's the whole
4 year degree. You do not have to do that.
(19:50):
Don't know how you did so they. They both in California it was
you needed to get your associate's degree before you
could even attempt to get your RN.
Oh yeah, you have to get your associate's degree.
Yeah. And then?
At the very minimum, but you canstill you can still sit for your
(20:11):
NCLEX RN licensure. The BSN is just literally, I
don't want to say bitch work butit kind.
Of there's, well, at least when I had looked into it, it was
like all your, your general education meaning like your
English, your math, your historyand your science.
(20:34):
And then any, like any basic requirements prior to applying
for the RN program. And then once you move into the
RN program, all the classes thatyou take for the next, the
following two years. It's just everything that has to
do with nursing. Yes so that's if you're doing
the BSN track and then they add in a lot of sciences to it.
(20:55):
But my my nurse friend told me they have so they hire more BSNS
to do like more of the more nurse stuff.
And if you only have an ADN it are you're an ADN RN and you
didn't get your BSN. It's more like bitch work.
(21:15):
Lots of ass wiping and that's about it.
You are under like the BSN nurses, basically like the ones
that went through more schooling.
But I am choosing just the associates because again, it
leads me to the same license andI don't want to work in a
hospital. That's not my end goal.
(21:37):
So I don't see the point of getting a pastor's degree when I
already have one in another. Yeah, I'm just like why would I
need 2 bachelors? What's the what's the end goal
for the RN? I feel like the field of
aesthetics is moving a lot towards nursing when it comes to
(21:58):
advanced treatments. And that's kind of my end goal
is to work with, yes, to work with lasers and have a little
more flexibility in that realm because each state is different.
And I know I will be bouncing around, right?
So I think it's worth it to go to nursing school when I go,
(22:23):
whether I think I'm going to have to wait till January at
least just to look around and decide.
And then because with being in the military, you don't have to
wait that six months to be a considered a resident like you
would if you right. So I found a school that has a
(22:45):
really high completion rate and licensure rate.
That's a Community College out there, so.
That's cool. I might be good.
Let's do it. You're like, why not?
Why not take a crazy chance? I love Hillary Deaf And then I
know she hadn't announced this on the podcast yet.
I don't think you had. But she wants to start her own
(23:09):
podcast in Fayette in Fayette, in.
Fayetteville, Fayetteville. I was like, wait, what is it?
So I would like to start my own podcast.
Which I think is going to do great, especially because of
what like what it is that you'retrying to talk about.
Yes. So I think a lot of Military
Wives struggle with moving theirbusinesses and being independent
(23:32):
individuals from their husbands.I feel like we have this role of
being like just that supportive spouse and moving everywhere
they go. But it is really hard, you know,
following your husband and moving your businesses.
And I think that's just something I see really often too
in all the military spouse groups, like, hey, I just moved
(23:53):
here, I just opened my business and I think it'd be nice to have
some other local military businesses on of military
spouses in the beauty industry that will start to chat about.
Them that would be really cool. Yeah, and I think that would be
it. It brings a lot of like new
(24:13):
topics on there because it's it's something that it's not
talked about in the industry. It's even a lot of women in in
the beauty industry. They will not even start up a, a
new, you know, a new business when they move because they're
like, well, I'm just going to move again.
Or they end up just having the clientele from base because they
(24:34):
know that, you know, they're going to leave and they're just
and, and that's how it works, you know.
And there's a ton of challenges, even if you have to go overseas
and then stop for four years. And it's like, well damn, then
what do we do exactly? I was faced with that because I
there was there's always an A chance that you have to go
(24:55):
somewhere crazy. Yeah.
Where you have to not continue because it's literally another
country. They have different laws.
Big time. Even from like Canada to
America, I mean, my family immigrate are immigrants from
Ecuador. And so a lot of them like my
uncle's a dentist and he couldn't practice dentistry in
(25:18):
Canada. So that was, I mean, and I see
it all the time, even here people are like, yeah, I'm a
doctor in my country, but here I'm just like APA or nerd NP or
something like that. Because they, they have to do
more schooling to be able to do that or they have to come and do
some kind of test to be able to do that.
And a lot of the times it's not,not all your classes transfer
(25:38):
over. So it's like you're having to
start all over again to do the stuff that you already did and
the stuff. You know.
Yeah, that sucks. Like they should just have like
a test and that's it, you know? Yes, yeah, that, that would, I
think that would be great. But.
Yeah. So obviously, you know, there is
a lot of changes coming, you know, but look out for the pod
(26:02):
in. Yes, look out for the.
Military. Military beauticians.
I don't know. Yeah, I I think I did have a
name, but I forgot what it was and forget if I wrote it down.
So I'm going to have to search through my notes.
I do that all the time, guys. I will come up with the best
idea and then forget forget about it.
(26:24):
Yes. And then I'm sure at some point
you'll have Matt come out and set something up for you.
I've joked around with Matt about setting up my closet pod.
I'm sure you can, you just have to insulate the crap out of it.
Imagine it helps. It would be, really.
(26:44):
Cool, it helps so that it's upstairs in my house so all the
kids and dogs will be downstairs.
Sorry, Matt. Crumbs falling everywhere.
I think that would be super cool.
Closet Pod Yeah. Yeah, it makes sense to me.
Yeah, you could decorate it. Oh.
I could have so done it in my current closet because it's
(27:08):
freaking. My current closet is like the
size of this this room. Oh shit.
You haven't been in my closet. No, I haven't.
It's pretty big. Erica was like damn, wow, damn.
We have a desk and a chair at the end of our closet.
Like, literally. What the fuck?
(27:29):
Like a like a desk? Yeah, that's it's like half the
size of this. Is your closet in Fayetteville
also huge or no? No.
It's a walk in, it's smaller, but we'll make room.
She's like, you're not allowed to hang your clothes in the
closet, Tyler. I'm just going to be.
(27:52):
You're listening. You just lost your closet.
It'll be like one corner. I think that we'll just have a
nice backdrop. Yeah, that'll be cool.
Either that or I'm trying to go for a she shed oh in the
backyard. Oh that would be really cool
(28:13):
because I've seen some pretty badass.
Ones decked out. She sheds, yeah.
And I said, oh, she shed. And then I'm going to have a
recording studio then, just likea nice wall for all my skin
care. Imagine you could even fucking
go live on TikTok and shit and sell your skin care line.
Yeah, I think. There's so many.
I'm over here like man, I did a thing last night too at in the
(28:35):
middle of the night I made a purchase.
When's your injection training? No, no, I made a purchase of a
the laser cutter machines. Oh, those are fun.
You know why? Because I was having issues on
on Saturday night, right? Trying to figure out like what I
(28:59):
was going to put on my table forpeople to scan.
And I know that there's people who make the little, the like
little acrylic squares with yourTikTok or your QR codes and
stuff. But I was like, fuck, man.
Like, obviously I thought about this last minute.
How many people don't think of shit like this last minute?
(29:20):
And there is nobody that could put something out for you last
minute, right? Because you waited till the last
minute. So I was like, if I would have
had a machine, I could have madeit myself.
Yeah. And then something popped up on
my screen last night while I wasworking, and I was like, oh, is
this a sign? So I got a pink, a pink laser
(29:41):
cutting machine. The.
I forgot what it's called. Oh, my God, how cute.
Yeah. So I'm so excited because, I
mean, another stream of income too, because I'm already
thinking of all this shit that Icould make.
Yeah. Crystals cuts.
Yeah, crystals. Cuts.
That's a nice little ring to it.You know, one of my friends
said, or her husband, she's like, oh, in Spanish, she said.
(30:06):
Estamos compendalos. Where was the Cristal?
Oh my God, that is. Horrible.
No, but it's my eggs for my chickens.
But Los, where was the Cristal? That's what you call eggs.
Oh my God, I thought, I thought you said.
We're eating cristals. Where was eggs?
As I said, Christian, no Christian, your son no Christian
(30:29):
chopping off huevos. I was like, that's where I need
to learn Spanish because there are little things that could.
Really get. Lost in translation.
I was like. No, you're like, that's
horrible. I was.
Like that's something my grandpa.
'S Oh my gosh, no, because they had a guy in, you know, I give
him a dozen eggs and they're like, oh, Los Velos the crystal
(30:50):
and I'm like, oh, why you don't want to say you're eating Los
Velos the Javier. I don't.
Oh, that's funny. Gosh, I'm horrible.
They're my friends from church too.
And after I said that, I was like ah.
That is. Funny.
(31:11):
My bad. Yeah, I'm just saying.
Oh yeah. But yeah, so I got that.
So I'm excited for that little new project, you know, because I
have a lot of time. Yeah, but her.
Kids are older. She has more time than I do.
But no Sophia, guys. I'm not that was a lie.
I don't that was sarcasm. I don't have time.
(31:33):
Oh right, shit. Well what?
What was I even saying or thinking Sophia last night?
How I was telling me to like pack the lunches.
I always wait till like midnightto do it.
Fresher is better right? But no.
Oh my gosh. But he said, Oh no, Sophia has
it all packed. Hers, hers and Callums.
I was like, I'm sorry. What I said.
(31:55):
I'm sorry, what? Chris?
I mean, not Crystal. Sophia packed her lunch for
tomorrow, snacks included, and Callum's lunch and snacks, he
said. Yeah, I said.
How did that make you feel? Did you want to cry?
Really sad, I said. I was kind of like, yes.
But at the same time, like she'snot a baby no more.
(32:18):
No, I said. How old is she?
I think she she's 6. She was like.
She was like, Mom, you just takethe fucking line.
Well, sometimes she gets annoyedjust like no, I didn't want that
or no, you didn't pack this and then.
She's like, better if I pack it myself, I said, because this
bitch ain't going to get it right.
I said, man, I don't know what she packed.
(32:39):
Did you look? I was like.
Oh my God. Did she do good?
Yeah, I was like Anne Callum's and they, they have different
things too. I said.
Oh, OK. She's very much like a she's
kind of like her grandma and Tyler.
She's like a busy body. She likes to have things like to
do. Oh my gosh, she's so little.
(33:01):
And she's, she's always been very independent, like she's
been walking into the fridge andgetting stuff since she was 2.
Very like independent. I didn't think she'd do
something like this. So in the morning, I said Sophia
was almost stuttering. Sophia said, mom, you need to
get me the ice pack. So I'm like, why don't you get
it yourself? And then she's like, oh, OK.
(33:22):
And so she opens the freezer, gets the ice pack and puts it.
In both of them. Oh my gosh, that's so funny.
Wow, that's crazy y'all. I'm still kind of, I'm trying to
like would process all this shitthat this is the end of an era.
(33:44):
The final. Yeah, yeah, it's yeah, yeah.
They're supposed to be warm. They're probably not warming.
Like, well, let's crack into tiffs.
Treats. Treats.
Into Tiffs goodies. Oh, there's multiple.
(34:07):
Oh, OK, let's see, Got double chocolate chip.
Chocolate chip and more chocolate chip.
Maybe I'll take half of 1 and half of another.
So you have all kinds of snacks to here take with you.
It's just on a little bit because I'm already kind of not
(34:27):
full, but just I got too many ofthe pretzels.
You're good, very good. Sorry, I'm literally so strange.
(34:50):
I did come out with the whole sourdough bread menu too that I
never released but. What the fuck?
That was like, you got to do it in North Carolina.
I was like all right but. Oh my gosh.
The descriptions guys. Wait, how do you get this
starter? Tyler was asking me the same
thing. I said damn, how am I going to
(35:10):
do the starter babe? He said we're going to get a
cooler. I don't want that shit to die.
He can't survive without my bread.
You know I need to start starterbecause I let mine we had when
we went on vacation, not this year but last last year or two
years ago and so I never restarted on a new one.
(35:30):
So I'm out of starter but I juststart baking again.
I need to start doing a lot of things.
I don't have time for this shit.I need more time, more hours in
a day. The chickens have taken up too
much time. Actually, I don't even have time
for time for my chickens right now.
It makes me so sad. They're my piece Yesterday when
I got home because I was in herelike I was in off I was podcast.
(35:56):
I was recording for next season guys and I so I was here and
then I had a meeting with my client from Colorado, Colorado.
And then I was kind of working in my office.
So I didn't get home till about 5530.
Dude, Javier was he took the kids to the Y and I was just
(36:19):
laying on the sofa. I was like, I'm going to get up
to work. I knocked the fuck out.
And so I called you because I fucking, I woke up in a panic.
I woke up in a panic because I was like, Oh my gosh, sales
taxes due. Oh my God.
And then this bridge tells me, all right, I don't want to talk
about business. I'm already winding down for the
night. Mondays are usually my off days,
(36:43):
like truly my off days where I don't want to do shit.
And then everybody started messaging on Monday.
Damn it, you just had an event. I know people are going to
message you and. Then I promised Desiree I would
go to her spa for her derma gym training.
It's not today it. Was yesterday and I fell asleep.
(37:07):
It was over before I knew it. I was like this like.
I'm telling you, like I was so tired.
I literally just, I was on the couch and I think I woke up when
they got home from the gym. And then Javier was, you know,
he he was laying next to me and I was like, so I was like, I'm
(37:27):
so tired. And then all of a sudden I
fucking bounced up on the couch.I'm like, Oh my God, it's so
sex. He's like, what?
I'm like, I'm supposed to fire all this shit.
Oh yeah. That's so funny.
Panic mode, but yeah. So yeah, those are.
Those are the updates. Those are the updates Glow and
Gather, Glow and Gather 2026. It went so good. 2026, I had a
(37:51):
couple people reach out about next year, some big names.
I'm very excited. I don't think I've told.
Have I told? You.
Yeah, I'm very excited. I was like, Oh my God.
What I told Jackie was I know, Iknow there's there, there's
talks about obviously having this in in different cities, but
(38:12):
one of the things that I did tell her was I like go do the
other cities as well, but also do the one here every year
because people here need it. And you guys did so good.
You guys did so good. And even like having people from
(38:33):
the Valley Drive up here, havingpeople from Colorado Dr. up
here. I couldn't believe it.
Like that was amazing. You know, I think that was so
good because this is something that you could eventually it
could turn into something that you do nationally, you know,
and. The and Desiree have talked
about Canada. Yeah, that would be the first,
(38:54):
like international one because that's where I'm from.
I'm very familiar. I know my uncle owns a banquet
hall. Yeah.
I'm like this Would all these, all these stars would align
right? But.
Yeah, yeah, I think, I think this, this has potential for so
much. You know, you guys fucking
killed it. You guys did so good.
I'm so proud of both of you for for doing this and like, and I
(39:16):
was so glad to be able to be a part of it, even though my
fucking social anxiety kicks in so bad.
Oh, you're good. But it was a lot of fun.
It was really cool. It was, I don't know, I, I
really enjoyed it. Yeah.
I can't wait to see footage fromit.
I am excited to get my content back, but I think I think we got
(39:45):
some really good stuff. Yeah, I was.
A little concerned on the last podcast, the one before that,
sorry, but I think it all workedout.
Yeah, yeah. So you know, so it's, it's
exciting guys. It's exciting to be having all
this going on to. It's sad to see Jackie leave.
It's exciting, but it's excitingto to know what she's going to
(40:07):
be doing and obviously that she'll still be able to come
hang out every once in awhile when she's in town, you know,
and, and wait for her podcast. Yeah, wait for her podcast.
Like this was a, a dream that weboth had.
Yes. And you know, we for me, it was
like a prayer answered when whenshe said, oh, I had been
(40:29):
thinking of a podcast like me too.
I've been wanting to have one for years I think.
It was the right timing to start1 and it was the right two
people to host. I really do.
And Crystal's going to have someguest hosts now.
She already has some lined up. She's already filmed a few or
one. One, yeah.
So I'll be so Tricia will be my first one, then the one that I
(40:50):
filmed yesterday, which she'll be my second one.
So I'll, you know, I'll have I'll have some on the schedule.
Yeah. So it'll it'll be cool.
And then I'm so excited for you, which you guys probably already
listened to it. Bree.
Oh my God, Bree was so awesome. I was like in fucking walking on
(41:14):
clouds like I was, I felt like Iwas on a high all day, you know,
like after that. Yes, we learned so much from
Bree that I didn't already know about her, so we learned a lot
of great info, even about waxing, I said.
I said screw it, we're just going to add waxing to the menu
probably too. But no, I'm thinking, I'm
(41:36):
thinking of just doing brows as just, that's the only hair
removal service and just focusing on my facials and peels
because a lot of people come to see me for brow sugaring.
I said, you know, I've never heard of a brow sugarist, so
it's going to be another thing. I'll start on my own.
Yeah, and that's, you know, and one of the things that I really
(41:56):
enjoyed about Bree is she has a six week course for waxing and
it's free. She actually sent it to me
after. Yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to
have my my girls watch that shit.
I love it. Especially because, I mean, this
is what Ballina wants to do. So we've been trying to figure
out how old you have to be to beable to start beauty school.
(42:18):
She's going to get her GED earlyand just go.
No, because it's not. Well, no, because we don't want
her to get a GED. She'll get a high school diploma
as a home school. You don't want.
You still want the diploma. You don't want the GED.
Yeah, yeah, why not? But yeah, like if I could get
her to complete her classes sooner if she put, you know,
because she's a junior, she's going to be a junior already
(42:38):
this year. So I know this is what she wants
to do. You know, I had her freshen up
my hair color like at fucking midnight right before the the
event or no, last week on Thursday right before my
appointment with Trisha for my wash.
And but, and she, she does good. She knows exactly how to apply
(43:00):
my shit. You know, I've had her do my
facials like, and not even like a facial, but just like a like
I, yeah, like I've walked her through it and man, she has like
she has those hands that know how to massage a face.
She doesn't know how, like what the the technique is, but she
tries, you know, and she's good.I wished I had known what I
(43:21):
wanted to do when I was that age.
Yeah, even in high school, all started high school, I kept
going back and forth with just everything.
Like I, I really think I settledon art because that's the only
thing I feel like I was comfortable doing.
I love doing. I knew how to do.
I said, you know what, I'm just going to be an artist.
Yeah, right now my almost 30 year old self was like what the
(43:43):
hell? Oh man.
But who cares? I mean, I tried it, right?
And then I would have been here today probably.
And I, I actually did reach out to a local ceramic studio over
in North Carolina. So I'm going to get that back up
and running because I had had notime here and I'm going to have
(44:04):
plenty of time to join a studio and make some more ceramics, so.
That's awesome. Yeah.
So what is one of your, I guess, big takeaways from the podcast?
Takeaways. I would say my biggest take away
(44:26):
is like, what have I gained fromthe podcast?
I think I am more comfortable chatting it up.
I keep saying that I feel like I'm more comfortable talking
about things and I used to have to really think before I speak
because I would be so afraid, like I was going to either
(44:48):
offend someone, spell out wrong information.
But then I realized over time, look, I'm only human again, I'm
not a Romat. I'm going to say something I
don't mean I'm going to make mistakes, I'm going to stutter.
I'm going to speak in Spanish byaxe.
I don't know. I said por favor at glow and
gather. That was so embarrassing.
I was like. Oh my gosh, see and I think you
(45:11):
have. I was watching the first episode
of the other day. Oh God I cringed so bad.
I don't ever want to say. I watched it and I cringed.
I was like holy shit. Yeah, like I come in here really
relaxed now. I feel like I was very uptight
in the first few seasons we've. Come a long way.
Yes, we've. Been if any of you have been
(45:33):
there, probably Trisha right hasbeen there since day one.
How we doing? Yes, how are how are we doing,
you know, but again, I want to wish you the best of luck on
your next end of what is the endeavours and future
endeavours. I'm very happy for you.
(45:54):
I'm very sad for me. Thank you.
I've been trying, you know, I keep on avoiding it because I
don't want to cry and because itdoes make me very sad that
you're leaving. Yes, Tyler is trying to convince
me to come back, which is would be great in theory, right?
(46:16):
He said. Listen, I really want the kids
to come here for high school forfour years.
I said really? I mean, I said, sure, why not?
I'm like, I'm like, what high school are you saying?
No for. Real.
No, they're really are horrible. He's like, I want them to go to
Cornerstone. Oh, OK.
(46:37):
So like I y'all know how much that cost right?
Cornerstone is not. Cheap.
Said will we like come into money by then?
I said we'll see, we'll see. Because so North Carolina has a
scholarship too from K through 12.
(46:58):
That's from the state. Apparently Texas is getting that
too. So maybe we'll.
Be liking that. That's not a good thing.
It's not a good thing to get free money.
No, it's it's, it's not a good thing for homeschoolers.
Oh. Yeah, because we're considered
private schools. They no they for private schools
too. I know.
And for homeschooled, it's not good for homeschoolers.
(47:19):
That's not something we want. A North Carolina they give you
if you're homeschooled too. Yeah, but then some money.
But then yeah, you getting getting money means that the
government has control over whatyou teach.
The whole reason a lot of us homeschool is to get away from
all that shit. Yes, but I am glad in North
(47:39):
Carolina I was able to find a school I wanted for Sophia.
Yeah, a Christian School that I went and I I didn't even go.
I I did a virtual call in here. Actually, I did it in here.
I loved everything, he said. She starts.
And it's a small school and she got accepted for the
(48:00):
scholarship. So we that's another just,
that's another financial burden off our hands because Tyler, he,
he like refused to send the kidsto public school.
And I don't blame him, but I said look.
Look, I'm gonna get it. It's gonna, I said, look, it's
gonna be a lot of money. Yeah, private school is
expensive. Yeah.
So it's, it's it's a really niceoption.
(48:23):
So we could be able to afford a school for her that's a smaller
environment. Yeah.
And she does have social anxietytoo.
So we just really wanted the perfect fit.
Even so we're a little nervous, obviously, but we she needs to
just, you know, be around other kids and step out a little bit
(48:43):
and just not be so like fearful.Even her in her camp, she's
doing so great there. They were telling me about it.
They said, Oh my gosh, she lovesthe vacation Bible school.
Like she was so badly and so interactive at the first day.
She was nervous, but then she just came a long way in the
Bible school and then even in camp she's been, they've been
(49:03):
there for a month. That's really cool.
Yeah, so. It's going good.
It's all all good things coming.Good things are on the horizon,
yes, and you will you. You'll still be able to keep up
with me on. Her socials, the grandma say
your socials at the beginning because we got into the crying
and then yeah. So please yes, OK, so.
(49:25):
Where can I follow you, Jackie? You can follow me at Skinfinet
San Antonio, but it's not going to be Skinfinet San Antonio for
much longer. Yeah.
Lafayette at Lafayette, Fayette,Lafayette.
That's actually a town in Tennessee.
Wrong. Place.
So I am doing rebranding right now, almost done with it, and
(49:51):
it's going to be super cute. It's going to be a different
name that I can take anywhere and what else do I have to say
about it? So it's going to be more, I
don't know, I'm just done with all the gold I had before.
We're going to have some really nice neutral vibes.
Another play on the word skin. And then more on the neutral
(50:16):
vibes that complement her skin. Yeah, because I'm always wanting
her. Autumn.
It is. It's yeah, I made sure it's in
season. Yeah.
I knew it. It's in season Gold was in
season 2 though without me knowing.
But the background like the white and the gold?
The white. The white was too white.
In season and we're I'm in season today.
(50:38):
Green is me and Crystal's power color.
Yes, I love that color man. I do too and I've always loved
it. Our charcuterie is also in
season. Yes, we don't have any.
Well, the white maybe. Yeah, I did ask for the neutral
colors. What I love about autumn season,
though? It's the only season where we
can wear the most neutrals and nude tones.
(51:00):
No one else can. Wear Oh my gosh, sorry.
I yawned at him into yawn. I'm sleepy.
She's so over me. No, no, I, you know, I woke up
really early today. I woke up at 7 something.
Wow. And that was like without an
alarm, my internal clock woke meup at 7:36 AM.
That was me yesterday. I woke up so early and I said.
(51:22):
I'm like. Why?
That's why I was so exhausted all day.
I just don't glow a gather. I woke up at 6:00 AM the day
before. I woke up at 6:30 yesterday.
And I got a lot done, though. I did a lot of stuff.
And then I was like, OK, time torelax.
And everyone started hounding me.
It's like, oh, that's very training.
Oh my gosh. And then the sponsors were like,
where's the attendee list? Oh my gosh, thank you for that.
(51:42):
I just I got that. Clients were like I need to
remove my appointment so I was like.
They're like, I can't. I'm trying to think of what
Keith said. I said OK, next location things
are going to be different. I ain't answering all my off.
No, you need a fucking work phone.
That too. Oh my gosh, sometimes I pretend
to have a work phone. Well, actually, I have a working
(52:05):
number. I do have a work number.
My clients do have my personal number.
In case of emergencies, rescheduling your appointment is
on emergency but. Yeah, I.
Turned off booking so I understand why I got inquiries.
Yeah, no, I have. I I got my work phone for that
reason. What time is it?
It's time for us to end the pod Eleven O 6.
(52:28):
My clients hold on. Sorry, I left it with my.
I totally forgot to do something.
Sorry, sorry. But I had we are at an hour.
(52:50):
Oh, we are. That went by quick.
That did it always goes by quickwhen we're having fun.
Sorry guys I literally had had aclient that was picking up a
product at 11. I forgot to tell her I left it
with my manager. Oh shit.
So right now I am sending her aninvoice before she just picks up
(53:12):
free shit. So let's see do upon receipt
payment methods. Yep, I always let people pay
with after pay if they choose orACH check.
See Jackie taking care of business, yes, but I do want to
(53:39):
say thank you guys for watching all the time.
Thank you for joining us on thisfarewell party.
I know. To to Jackie.
Thanks guys. So excited to see, you know
what, what you'll do out there and not just podcast wise, but
(53:59):
also business wise. I know we have a lot to to do
for that. And I'm my plan is to go out
there when she starts looking for sweets.
Yes, yes, even started asking around for advice again, didn't
get any, so I made it. Yeah, so, so we're we're excited
(54:20):
for all those things coming. Like I said I'm sad for her
leaving and thank you for being the best Co host and.
Thank you. I'm so happy that we got to be
able to do this for two years straight.
Yes, yeah, it's been a really cool time.
We've had a good run, a rung rung, we've had a good run and
(54:44):
it will only continue and get better from here.
Yeah, I think we're possibly at 90 episodes.
Wow, it's been a while. Possibly.
Alright guys, thank you so much.Thank you guys for watching and
I'll see you and. Jackie out.
Bye.
