Speaker 1 (00:00):
The pain of who I had become was way greater.
So you have to choose your pain, and I think at that point I
just was so desperate.
I had reached that line in thesand moment where I was like who
is this person?
I just really just didn't lovemyself.
I just really was so frustratedand just disappointed in how my
life had turned out at thatpoint.

(00:21):
And so I think I didn't eventhink about the back pain being
a limiting factor.
I just needed, I just felt likeI needed to do something and I
needed to honor my body.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Hi everybody, I'm CK.
In 2019, I herniated a disc inmy lower back and I experienced
all the physical and emotionaltrauma that comes with a severe
back injury fear, depression, ptsd and even guilt.
I stressed over the decisionabout getting surgery and I let

(00:53):
all the negative opinions thateverybody else had freak me out.
I scoured the internet hopingto find somebody's story that I
could relate to.
I can thankfully say that today, over five years later, I feel
amazing, but I couldn't justmove on with life, knowing that
there are currently people inthat pain and dealing with that

(01:15):
sense of loss.
On Bed, back and Beyond thepodcast, I talk to people who've
recovered from a herniated disc, with surgery or without
surgery.
I've spoken to someone whofound her purpose after a near
fatal car accident left herparalyzed.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
That makes it all worth it sharing the things that
you know one goes through, because we all go through these
things for a reason.
It's not we.
You know life isn't here tojust like to shit on you, like
it's trying to show yousomething and and share and like
make you see things in a waythat could either be a benefit
to somebody and I think that'sreally what it is is like how

(01:50):
can, how can we take what we gothrough and help other people?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
And someone who found their voice after a brain
injury tried to steal it fromthem.
I talked to experts in thefield of emotional recovery and
spinal health recovery Anyonethat I think can bring you hope
and encouragement in a dark time.
I am passionate about bringingyou personal stories of positive
recovery so that you can findthe inspiration you need to
