I am your host, Emma Della Rossa, and today I will be interviewing Amiel Ang.
Amiel Ang is a multi-instrumentalist and interdisciplinary artist based in Toronto, Ontario. He is currently completing a Bachelor’s of Music in Percussion Performance at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music and is the recipient of the Avedis Zildjian Percussion Scholarship for 2024-2025.
Amiel has been heard in acclaimed concert halls and has been successful in numerous Canadian solo competitions resulting in solo concerto performances. An active drumkit player, Amiel has performed in the pits for numerous musical theatre productions both on and off of the University of Toronto campus.
Amiel co-founded the independent multimedia production company, March Break Forever in 2020. In April 2022, he composed and produced the score for original short film “GOOSE SPIT” directed by Nick Kastanis, which premiered in the Landmark Cinemas of Whitby, Ontario.
Amiel’s principal teachers include Dr. Aiyun Huang, Beverley Johnston, John Rudolph, Charles Settle, Dr. Ryan Scott, and Dr. Michelle Colton.
