(00:00):
What if I told you that fearis one of the biggest lies
(00:03):
you've ever believed?
Think about it.
How many times has fearheld you back?
Kept you up at night.
Stopped you from steppinginto what God has for you.
We've all been there.
Fear whispers.
You're not strong enough.
You're not ready.
You're alone.
But here's the truth.
Fear is a liar.
(00:25):
And todaywe're going to expose it.
The good news.
God has already given usa promise.
That destroys fear at its core.
It's found in Isaiah 41 (00:36):
10.
And it's not justfor encouragement.
It's a declarationof war against fear itself.
So if you've everfelt overwhelmed, anxious,
or like lifeis too much to handle.
Stick with me.
This is the messageyou need today.
(00:57):
Well, today we're goingto dive into Isaiah
41 (01:00):
10, a verse packed
with truth, encouragement,
and a reminderthat no matter what
your facing, God is holdingyou up.
It says so do not fear, forI am with you.
Do not be dismayed, forI am your God.
I will strengthenyou and help you.
I will uphold youwith my righteous right hand.
Again, that's Isaiah 41 (01:22):
10.
Fear is one of those thingsthat thrives in isolation.
It's why so many people strugglewith anxiety at night.
Because when everything is quietand they're lying
in bed, their mindsrace with the what ifs.
(01:43):
What if I lose my job?
What if my health gets worse?
What if I fail?
The unknown is terrifying.
When you believeyou're facing it alone.
That's why this first part of
Isaiah 41 (01:56):
10 is so powerful.
God isn't just giving a command.
Do not fear.
He's always givinga reason, for I am with you.
His presence is the antidoteto fear.
It doesn'tmean the situation isn't real,
but it does meanwe're not facing it
by ourselves.
(02:17):
Think abouta little kid in a dark room.
Maybe you can rememberback to those days.
The darkness itselfdoesn't change.
But the moment a parent walks inand turns on the light,
the fear disappears.
That's what God does for us.
He doesn't remove the darknessfrom our situation right away,
(02:37):
but his presence brings peacein the middle of it.
This is exactly what happenedwith the disciples in Mark four
when they werecaught in the storm.
You remember the story.
They wereprofessional fishermen.
They had seen storms before, but this one was so bad
that they thoughtthey were going to die.
Meanwhile,Jesus was sleeping in the boat.
(03:01):
Why?
Because he knew somethingthey had forgotten.
God was with them, and that meant they were
never truly in danger.
The same is true for us.
Fear shrinkswhen we truly believe that
God is in the boat with us.
(03:22):
Fear and discouragementgo hand in hand.
It starts with fear.
What if this goes wrong?
What if I can't handle this?
Then we dwell on thatfear for so long that it turns
into discouragement.
We start to believethat were too weak,
or were to broken,or were too inadequate
to deal with what's ahead.
But here's the game changerin this verse.
(03:45):
Do not be dismayed, forI am your God.
Notice that God doesn'tjust tell us, stop being afraid.
He reminds us of who he is.
It's not just a distant deitywatching from afar.
He is your God.
That's personal.
(04:05):
That's relational.
He's saying,I know your struggle.
I see what you're going through.
I'm not just near you.
I'm for you.
Imagine being lostin a huge city
that you've never beento before.
You're walking down the streetsthat you don't recognize.
You're feelingoverwhelmed and unsure
of where to go.
(04:27):
But then your best friendwho knows the city
like the back of his hand, shows up and says,
hey, don't worry.
I'll guide you in that moment.
The city is still the same.
The streets arestill unfamiliar.
But your fear fades because nowyou have
someone who knows the way.
That's what God is saying here.
(04:48):
You don't have to be discouragedbecause I am your God.
I know the way.
I know how this ends.
Trust me.
And when we fully grasp that, discouragement has no choice
but to fade.
Now, this part of the verseis crucial because it shifts
(05:10):
from reassurance to action.
God isn't just saying,hey, I'm here,
so don't be afraid.
He's saying,I will strengthen you.
I will help you.
In other words, he'snot just standing
by while we struggle.
He's actively giving uswhat we need to get through it.
(05:31):
Have you ever gonethrough something
so difficult that you thought.
There's no wayI can handle this?
Maybe you've lost a loved one,faced a financial crisis,
or dealt with the seasonof deep loneliness.
But then somehowyou made it through.
You may not haveeven realized it at the time,
but that was Godstrengthening you.
(05:53):
He was giving youendurance, peace, and resilience
when you didn't thinkyou had any left.
Think about someonelifting weights at the gym.
Maybe that's you.
I remember back tosports in school
and lifting all of the time.
If you've evertried to bench press
something very heavy, you know that at some point
(06:15):
your arms start to shakeand you feel like
you can't push it up any more.
But if you have a spotter,a friend standing over you,
they're ready to step in.
They don't liftthe weight for you,
but the momentyou start to struggle,
they give you just enough helpto get you through the rep.
Well, that'swhat God does for us.
(06:37):
It doesn't always removethe burden completely,
but he strengthens usso we can carry it.
And not only doeshe strengthen us,
but he also helps us.
That means he providesresources and wisdom
and even peopleat just the right time.
When we feel weak, he steps inwhen we don't know what to do.
(06:58):
He makes a way.
He is an ever present helpin times of trouble.
This last part of the verse iswhere we find
our ultimate confidence.
I will uphold youwith my righteous right hand.
(07:18):
This isn't just about Godgiving us strength.
It's about himholding us up so we don't fall.
Have you ever beenso exhausted, physically
or emotionally or spiritually, that you felt like
you were just going to collapseunder the weight of life?
That's when this promisebecomes so powerful,
because it means thateven when you have nothing left,
(07:42):
God is still holding onto you.
The strength isn't justgiven to you, it's
wrapped around you.
Picture a father walking acrossa busy street
with his young child.
The child might thinkI need to hold on tight so
I don't let go of dad's hand,but in reality, it's
(08:02):
not the child's gripthat matters.
It's the Father's grip right?
Even if the child stumbles, the Father's hand won't let go.
That's whatGod's righteous right
hand represents.
Our strength may fail, but his never does.
And notice he doesn't just say,I will uphold you
(08:23):
with my right hand.
He says, my righteousright hand.
Well, in biblical times, the right hand
was a powerful symbolof authority and protection.
God isn't just offeringany kind of help.
He's upholding uswith his perfect,
unshakable strength.
That means no matterhow weak we feel,
(08:45):
we are never in dangerof slipping through his fingers.
So here's whatI want you to take away today.
Whatever you're facing,fear, discouragement, weakness.
God is with you.
He is your God.
He will strengthen you.
He will help you.
He will never let you go.
(09:08):
Maybe you'rewatching this right now,
in the middle of a storm.
You feel likeeverything is falling apart.
I want you to hear this clearly.
God has not abandoned you.
He is holding you up.
His presence is your peace.
His strength is your help.
(09:29):
And his hand is your security.
