Speaker 1 (00:01):
Straw hot media.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Welcome in everyone. Hopefully everyone's excited. I am Matthew as
always here to convey your questions or allow you to
convey them yourself. To our wonderful guest today, Harvey.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Breathing this so bewhelming heart bizarre has so tell me
why would anyone.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Want to be alive?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Death might have a reputation before she arrives, but trust me.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
We have wey more only affe lie. We have wey
moth on the aff lies.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
How about we do this, Let's say about everyone's favorite
moment from the episode. In fact, so just don you're up,
what's your favorite moment from the wedding?

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Okay's outfit? Actually, I really, really, really enjoyed all the outfits.
I'm a huge fan of the costume department. I go
through like a weirdo and look for high quality pictures
so I can just look at the costumes. I loved
Nandor's like, I don't know, like blinged out version of

(01:21):
his regular self. I loved all of the other nameless
vampires that we didn't know yet or may never know.
All of them looked amazing. I was That was the
first thing I was going to say to Harvey, and
then I was going to ask him a question.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Good because I was gonna if no one else brought
it up, I was going to I mean, like green,
oh god, yes, just just an absolute look.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
It was a look, and like, not only was it
a look, it was so perfect with his skin tone
and like the way they did his hair, and like
I just the costume department, like away, I.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Think Harvey's gonna like that. Come up. I think he's
going to appreciate that. Let's see, I'm going to send
you back down, and then you might have to re
raise your hand. I'll just remember where you were in love.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
Okay, cool, thank you, I'll recall that.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
So let me move you back there we go, some
kind of human nerd. I remember you from last week?
All right, let's hear. What's you favorite part of the
episode or what was blue? Hi?

Speaker 6 (02:22):
Okay, just checking out, I'm not muted.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
You're good.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
God. There's so many good things about it. But I
really really enjoyed the character moment with Nandor and Guillermo
before the wedding, because it was pretty obvious what Nandor
was doing to everyone but himself, as is often true,
but I feel like It really spoke to how their

(02:49):
characters and how their relationship has grown. That Guillermo was
able to like tell him, you know, you're the one
trying to sabotage this because you're uncertain about it, and Nandor,
instead of instantly getting defensive and telling him he has
no place to say that, actually acknowledges and responds to it.

(03:10):
And so that was just such a sweet, nice moment
that also displays how much the power and balance between
them has been lessened over the seasons.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
That's a great point. I think we've seen a lot
of growth from both of them this season especially, and
we got a great moment at the end of the
towards the end of the episode with the two of them,
where with Nandor putting the blanket over Gearmo, which I
thought was absolutely adorable. Everyone on Twitter is freaking out.
But by the way, for those of you don't know,
and I will mention this to Harvey when he joints

(03:44):
and get his thoughts. Guermo and Nandor both have been
trending on Twitter for over forty eight hours now, which
is awesome.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Seeing.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I mean, the Twitter fandom is alive and well, clearly
everyone is really excited about this show, and for good reason.
I mean, it's one of the best shows on TV ever,
so and I think we can all agree about that.
Let's see, Sweet Juice, what was your favorite part of
the episode?

Speaker 7 (04:14):
I genuinely have to say, my favorite things have been
just the small gestures from like Naja and the Guide
helping out with Guermo, and this episode was just like
a sweet little gesture, and it I feel like, ties
into how their relationship has grown. They're obviously Giamo is

(04:38):
friends with everybody in this house, even if they are
total assholes to him most of the time.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
And obviously there are.

Speaker 7 (04:45):
Some very very touching moments between then and Gimo and
Guillermo and Mala.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
At the end of the episode.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Oh, we're going to talk about that?

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Yeah, I find that very interesting. Well the tire, Yeah
we will.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
I don't worry. I will bring that up at the
right moment.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
I will.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I mean, how can we not talk about that?

Speaker 8 (05:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I will be bringing that up and we will all
be talking about that. I will talk about my favorite
part of the episode if everyone cares to hear about it,
because there were so many great moments in that episode.
But I'm a major fan of the sire. Just the
whole look of that character is so cool, and I

(05:27):
really want to know if it's like practical or if
it's c Guys, we'll get to that later. We have
someone else up here, pasy Rife. I think it is.

Speaker 9 (05:38):
Yes, I really I've love the show. I watched it
since season two, and I'm half Persian, So seeing Nandor's
character and having like all little elements of Persian culture
is like so so exciting and affirming for me as
like a big fan, because I don't really see that
anywhere else. So even the little moment of Marwa basically

(06:00):
having our parents brought back to life and immediately being
like MoMA Chumbabaju and then like the word that means
like my dear, So that was like, that was such
a big thing for me. So I really appreciate like
having all these tiny details as well as Nanda's wedding outfit.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Marvin looked absolutely stunning.

Speaker 9 (06:16):
Oh my god, that dressed like it would have been
nice to see a poper version wedding.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
But if it's fine, it's like overall.

Speaker 9 (06:21):
It's really nice seeing these little glimpses of my culture
and my like, uh, yeah, the show, it's really nice.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
That's a great point. I think we've had a lot
of great representation in the show. And I was wondering,
like if the wedding would be a Persian style wedding
or or something else. And then you know, I thought
to myself, I don't know if Nandor is even thinking
about that. I think he has this grand idea of
a wedding in his head. He cares more about the

(06:49):
wedding than the actual marriage, and I think he was
just doing whatever the hell he wanted.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
Yeah, he definitely was.

Speaker 9 (06:55):
I mean, it's also he has forgotten a lot of it,
Like he forgets Sparsi, which is funny, knows it, but
like Nandor's forgotten you know. He calls his horse John
when it's John, which means my universe. So there's like
so many like little things that I know the writers
care a lot about depicting these things from you know,
Persian culture and everything, so it's super cool to see
them even if he doesn't remember.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
That's a great point, all right, And if you have
another question, you can move back to the audience. If
you have another question, just raise your hand again. It
looks like Professor Ohnai, let's see, all right, what was
your favorite part of the episode?

Speaker 5 (07:30):
So much?

Speaker 10 (07:31):
It was such a good episode. Every moment was fantastic,
Like every minute. There's a little detail that I could
talk about being so phenomenal. I think when I hear parts, though,
is that the Baron is restored now to his full
body and we get to see Doug Jones's fabulous acting again.
I love his character movement. He's the king of monster
movements and like unnatural stuff. But it's so cool to

(07:53):
get to see him in the full body again, banging
everyone as he should.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
That's an absolutely great point. I'm a massive Doug Jones fan.
Like you said, he is one of the absolutely ultimate
monster character actors, big, you know, lanky characters. He's one
of my favorite movies of the last decade was The
Shape of Water, and yeah, absolutely good. Was amazing in that.
He's you know, incredible in Star Trek Discovery as one

(08:17):
of the best characters in that show, and so to
have him in the show and then to actually see
his face in his beautiful flowing hair.

Speaker 10 (08:25):
And beautiful hair such a great moment.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yeah, absolutely great. That was a great point. I love
that too. Oh, it looks like Harvey's here. How are you,
Harvey good?

Speaker 5 (08:34):
How's everyone doing well?

Speaker 2 (08:36):
I think everyone is very excited to chat after that
last episode, so I think people are very eager. In fact,
we have we have more people than I've ever seen
with their hands up at once. So if we don't
get started, we're gonna we're just gonna be inundated. Let
me just introduce everyone. If you are living under a rock,

(08:57):
this is Harvey Gian, the star of what we do
in the Shadows. I am Matthew. We're going to be
taking your questions and we're going to be starting right
away with mondays are turns? Come on down, Hi, Hardy.

Speaker 11 (09:10):
I'm so excited to speak with you.

Speaker 12 (09:12):
And I just want to let you know that I'm
a Mexican American and I'm from Santa Ana, and I'm
just like so proud of you.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Ah, thank you, that's so nice that.

Speaker 12 (09:24):
Yeahpectfully, you're such a haughty too and like both talented
and like there's nothing that I can think of that
you're not good at.

Speaker 11 (09:33):
Like I really.

Speaker 12 (09:35):
Enjoyed listening to your interview with Tigfong and like how
they explained how you're such a badass live action hero.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Oh well, I appreciate that. Well, you know, we have
to represent and also, you know, fighting against all Hollywood
stigmas and stereotypes of what you know, a classic actor
leading man should look like because has been a challenge.
But I'm glad to put up with a fight and
open the door or at least leave it a jar
to someone who who might come from Santa Ana, who

(10:03):
might be a little plus sized, it might be you know, latinae,
or it might be queer.

Speaker 12 (10:07):
You know, you never know, yes, and you're being humble,
but you've like kicked the door wide open, and you're
so generous with your fans. It's like amazing. But down
to my question, thank you. I really enjoy watching your
your red carpet style. I loved seeing your look at
Comic Con, and I just wanted to know, like, what

(10:31):
is your process? Do you work with the stylist and
how do you put these looks together?

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Well, that's a good question because you know, a lot
of people assume that I work with a stylist, and
as you know, I got kind of further in my career.
People recommend work with the stylist, but for the longest time,
and I still do. I style myself because you'd be
surprised how many stylists out there don't know how to
style a person of size. And it's just because most
stylists have a relationship with the you know, couture house

(10:58):
or or something designer, but most of their designs usually
come in model samples and and and those samples are
usually you know, for females or like size zero to
like two, and there's no no designer out there that's
making sample designs for a plus size actor. So everything
would have to be custom made or tailored and whatnot.

(11:19):
Nobody wants that hassle. So you'd be surprised how many times,
you know, people are turned down from stylists. And so
I made in my mind. I was like, you know what,
I know what looks good in my body. I want
to and I want to have my own voice. So
I style myself for the most part, once in a while,
you know, for the events, like the big events, where
to get in connection with the big houses like you know, Adulchi,

(11:40):
Gavana or like Gucci or something, which otherwise they don't
really make those outfits in my size anyway. So when
we partner up with them. It's they make them like
it's a custom cature piece that you know, But I'm
always reminding them, like, you know, you should make these
pieces and these sizes because you have a lot of
people who would love to buy them, but they're to
dress this for that event. But for the most part,

(12:02):
ninety nine percent of the events I dressed myself. Like
Comic Con look was might put that together with my sister.
We went shopping and people were like, oh my god,
who's a designer and it's like designer or like who
went to Aso's and like like a pair of pants
and then went over to like where was a tzar
or something and got like a shirt and put those
color palettes together. So you don't have to spend a
lot of money to look good. And it's also how

(12:22):
you carry the clothes, you know. Some of the best
looks I put together have been recycled pieces from like
vintage stuff that I found or that I've had in
my closet. Or I always like to like incorporate something new,
so I don't like feel that I use that outthreetic,
you know again in the same carpet look, but or
I can use the same piece in a different way,
so you don't spend you know, all your money out
on stuff that you can't wear twice. I guess if

(12:44):
you will, but I don't mind it. I'm are like,
you know, I kind of like wearing the same thing
if I can in a different look, not the exact
same look, but I can switch it up a bit,
you know.

Speaker 11 (12:55):
Thank you so much for that, and that's proving my
point true.

Speaker 12 (12:58):
Like you're good at everything you do because you're really
killing well.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
Thank you. I'm excited af you to see some new
fashion ideas we're gonna have for this weekend and then
for upcoming you know, shows and stuff. I'm excited about
some of the outfits we put together. Oh thanks for
checking in, you know.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
While we're talking about outfits, because it's gonna come up anyway,
and now is the best time. Everyone is freaking out
about Germo's wedding outfit with you know, the blazer and
the turtleneck. Who did that?

Speaker 6 (13:28):
Who?

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Who?

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Like, can you talk about the team who put that
together and where the ideas came from and in the process.

Speaker 5 (13:34):
Yeah, So that's Laura Montgomery, who's our costume designer. She's
brilliant and She's really hands on and collaborates and that
outfit we like had a meeting with the color palettes
and what looks good for Guermo transitioning from you know,
from familiar to bodyguard to van housing to best man.
So every time he kind of has a metamorphosis, we

(13:57):
see him, you know, shut away a different layer of
his skin and we see a new layer to him.
And this was definitely a new layer. He's peeled away
this side of him where people thought that he'd be
jealous or upset that Nandor is getting married, and he's
very confident and comfortable in his skin right now, and
he's not threatened by the idea that someone that he
cares about has found his version of what they want

(14:18):
in their life as their true love and partner. He's
happy for them and here to support them. And I
think at the end of the day, that's the biggest
kind of love there is, you know, the unconditional love
that you love somebody, even if you know they might
be with someone else, doesn't mean that you have to
be with them romantically. And the idea that people want
Nandor and Giermur together. I think this show, this episode
showed off that at the end of the day, they

(14:40):
do have love for each other and whatever that manifests
into only time will tell. But going back to the outphit,
Laura wanted to show off this side of like Yermo,
that he is kind of evolving and he's a little
more swab. He was in Europe for a year and
he might have, like, you know, looked into fashion while
he was there. He might take a little more pride
when he dresses up for events from now on. That turtleneck,

(15:01):
the suspenders and everything, the jacket and the pants, the
trousers were all customed made by Lauren, their amazing team.
It's to work on the on the show.

Speaker 13 (15:11):
And it was nice to see him get into a
different look because the vampires get these glamorous, beautiful, exaggerated,
extravagant outfits and yeah, we usually tends to stay to
either the van housing or the familiar look, and so
it was nice to see and so it's always a
nice and pop up color for the audience to see
him in a different look.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Awesome. The team really deserves a shout out, So I'm glad.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
You Yeah, and they're nominated for an Emmy for Across Team.
This season. Wow.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
I mean, come on, they deserve that, Emmy.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
We have way more fun after life.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
All right, now we have party poison, who has a
question for you if they can unmut their mic Hey.

Speaker 11 (15:53):
Harvey, it is so great to be able to talk
to you again and get your insight. I met you
back in at Spucala in May. My wife was Nandor
and I had to cross the Silver Cross time ring.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
If you remember that, Oh I do remember, Yeah.

Speaker 11 (16:08):
Yeah, that's me that. That was one of the best
moments of my life, like that whole Oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
You both magical.

Speaker 11 (16:14):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
So wonderful, and I love all your sistures online and
I just love the reenactment. You and your partner always
outdo that yourself and I always share all those with
the cast because it's my favorite.

Speaker 11 (16:27):
I'm crying and blushing of doing it all. Thank you
so much. But my question for you today is, say
GM went down a different path, and so he went
to like college or did a vocation or something like that,
what do you think he would have studied.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
Well, that's funny you say that, because in the first
in the second season, actually I think it was the
second season, there was an episode where we go to
the niicro ansers Hut and it was adjacent to a
community college, and at least to be a quick line
that Guillermo had that he said, I used to take
stage craft here. So there's a point where we're trying
to put the pieces together of like where Yermo found

(17:06):
Nandor and it might have been freshman year in college somewhere,
because he said he used to take classes at this
community college. And in season one, when he brings his
friend back to the house, the Virgin and they're having
the orgy party and he's the Virgin himself and he
brings Mochi ice cream, there was an original line in
there that he had mentioned where they met, and I

(17:27):
think they met at school, and I think it was
freshman year in college, so I think that he went
to school he would have done he was drawn to
the arts. Now he's supported of Baby Collins love for
musical theater. He really kind of nurtures that, and I
think it goes back to the storyline of at one
point Germo was studying like stage craft, like he maybe
behind the scenes or TV production or stage production, so

(17:50):
something to do with the arts. I think at one point.
He is a fan of film and was in love
with you know, interview with the Vampire. So I think
he had to do something with that, maybe TV production
or stage craft.

Speaker 11 (18:02):
Oh, I love that. I wonder if he would have
maybe done some light cosplay too, So.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
He did larp, remember larpin so Ftch. I think that
LARPing and and cosplay go hand in hand a little
bit in the way that you bring a character to life,
and so I wouldn't put it past him. I think
that he would definitely be seen at a con.

Speaker 11 (18:25):
Yes. Perfect, Maybe I'll bump into him one day. Yeah,
thanks so much, Harvey.

Speaker 7 (18:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
How good.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
That was a great question. And I think everyone's always
thinking about his backstory, which actually brings me to a
question that someone left with me from Discord who could
not make it today.

Speaker 14 (18:43):
Unfortunately. Their name is Lady Indigo. And here's what they
have to say. They say, you always put so much
thought into Guermo, and I know you've thought a lot
about his backstory and even you know, to a part
in giving him his last name. Have you had any
say into what the writers do with this care and
aside from the twist of his slayer background, as anything
they've written for Giermo ever surprised you.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
You know, I don't really have a lot of say
in the character. I mean, I gave Giermro the last
name because I wanted it for my personal Like I
at that moment, I didn't know the trajectory and storyline
of Guermo's Van Helsing lineage, and so when I gave
him the last name just to have him for myself,
I said, can I give him the last name? And
Jamaine said yes, and he said, what are you thinking?
And I said and things like in the top of
my head. I don't know why I said to La Cruz,

(19:26):
but at that point I didn't know that Van Helsing
was in my blood and did not really put that
together until, I mean, after they made that announcement, I said,
why would you let me choose a name with that,
like it has cross of the cross in the last name,
And then he said, well, that was perfect. And it's
like when he told me that, I was like, yeah,
that's perfect. So it was like kiss Meth. It was
like I didn't know I was helping kind of create

(19:47):
this character by giving him that last name, and they
already knew that he was going to be a van housing,
but I didn't for the most part. I mean, it's
kind of funny. I don't really know what's going on
my storyline for my season until the week of filming,
usually because they have to keep us on our toes
to keep it like an improv or keep it like
a documentary, to keep it real. But sometimes I feel
like I would love to hear a little bit beforehand.

(20:09):
It's a look preparation because it is hard as a
character who's the only human on the show to mentally be,
you know, catching up to like oh and one day
we'll shoot like episode four oh one, and then by
the afternoon we shoot four o six, and then by
evening we're shooting part of the finale. So if I
don't know what's going on in each episode, it's kind
of hard to kind of draw and connect the emotions
that are linear to gill More and the story in

(20:31):
the season. So for me, I don't really have an input.
I can have like an idea when it comes to
the lifestyle and the household. I do help out with,
you know, the verbiage and what the household might have
in it, and those things they do. They're very nicely
invite me upstairs to the writer's room to help out
write out a scene. But aside from that, most of
the surprises to me, and even this season, I have

(20:54):
friends who are auditioning for roles right now for the
new season and they're like, oh my gosh, I'm going
out for this. And I was like, what what are
you talking about? Like in one episode this happens and
I'm like what, I don't what are you talking about?
I don't know what you're talking about. So they So
I have friends out there who probably know more storyline
for the new season than I do myself.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
That's that's actually funny. I didn't realize that that could happen.

Speaker 14 (21:16):
Yeah, all right. Next up, we have K and D
with a question.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Hi.

Speaker 15 (21:21):
Yeah, my question is one of my friends actually who
couldn't make it. But she was saying that one of
her favorite visual gags in the open of season three
was when Germo eats a burger with a knife and
a fork, and it just always seems so odd and
funny to her, and she was just wondering if you
could like talk a bit about that gag, like whose
idea was it and what do you think it says
about Garmo.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
You know that wasn't in the strip. I just made
a choice for Gietmo. I think, you know, he's still
very neat and meticulous about certain things, and I think
he's a little bit traumatized of the blood in the
household that he has to wear gloves when he's carrying
carcasses and whatnot, and in his hands are he's really
particular about. So if you look closely, like some of

(22:03):
those seasons where he's stressed out and whatnot, he has
very long fingernails, like I like aarmal's fingernails grow long
for the season because he has no time for like
you know, he's always just like on the go. But
also his nails are his only weapon, Like at some point,
even when you look closely to like a scene where
he's picking something up, he has pretty long nails because
he has no fans, he has something sharp, and he

(22:24):
only has a crucifix in his neck that's hidden behind
his sweater, and he has like nails and that's it.
Not that I would protect him, but he does feel
a little bit of safety more with having some kind
of weapon on him at all time. But the bit
with the fork and knife was something that came up
with on the day Kyle Knewachek was directing that episode,

(22:46):
and I like it. I like the choice. So like
the choice because you know, they don't give you fork
knife when you go to a burger juring. They give
you fries and the burger you eat with your hands.
And so for him to ask, can I have a
fork and knife? And that was a bit that I
did with the person who was the founder. I think
they ended up editing that out for time reason, but
I did. It was a whole bit like I have
a fork and knife, please like for what it's like

(23:06):
for my burger. And it's like, you know, your burger
fork knife, and like we like a whole bit. And
no one ever saw it, of course, but it gave
that backstory to why he would ask for that because
he doesn't want to get messy. Everyone doesn't like to
get messy.

Speaker 9 (23:17):
You know.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
He tends to keep everything nice and press and and
you know, pretty neat, and so a burger can be
sloppy and it could be mustard and pickles and falling
on your shirt and now you don't have time to
go change your you know, sweater or your jumper. And
so for him, it's very about keeping it clean and
cleeping everything in order. And so I like that you

(23:37):
caught that because it was really subtle and it was
really quick, but Kyle left it in the show. So
I'm glad that everyone I got to see it. Cool. Yeah, yeah,
that's really neat that you guys, Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
I think that says a lot about the show. There's
so much that you can miss that. You know, you
can rewatch the show one hundred times in a new
visual gag or something in the background every single time.
It says a lot about the set design, says a
lot about you guys as actors and the writers and everyone.

Speaker 5 (24:07):
I think such. I think that you know, it's a
collaboration between everyone, and we just have the best team
in the world and we get to go to work and.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Play absolutely and hopefully that the Emmys will represent that.
Here's hoping fingers all right, padded foot, you're up, I arvey.

Speaker 16 (24:24):
It's really great to have a chance to talk to you,
even just for a second. I think Gamo is absolutely hilarious,
and I think especially this season, he's got more of
a chance to like, I guess, like let the profanities
fly from time to time, which I really increased his
comedic role. The other cast members, despite almost all of

(24:45):
them being like like over one hundred years old, they
all act like giant children. So you being in like,
however old you are in the show, you are really
the only one that consistently acting like an adult. So
I was curious that was like almost an I guess,
a daunting task as an actor to be kind of

(25:05):
the straight man, like surrounded by all of these like
super chaotic, like several hundred year old vampires.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
Yeah, you know, it's hard because I in this in
this show, the comedy they were doing is I play
the straight man in the whole series. And usually I
you know, I've always played the comic relief, but it's
been like farcical and like, which I love. You know,
I'm trained theatrically, and so that's always like you know,
played at the back of the house and like whatnot.
And so in this show, the vampires are that they're

(25:34):
bigger than life because they are bigger than life. You know,
they're they've been in life for hundreds of years. They're immortal,
they don't have any care in the world except you know,
thirsting after lust and feasting on blood and whatnot. And
Guillermo is a human and at the end of the day,
you know, the human has to be grounded because humans

(25:54):
have goals and aspirations and there's there's consequences for your
actions because we live in a society, you know, and
a society has made structure and rules. And remember that,
like as a human, like he's done stuff like for
his master that are terrible things, but everyone kind of
brushes it off because they relate to because we've all

(26:14):
been at a job that makes us do like horrible things,
or they overlook for promotion or whatnot. And so the
reason I think that everyone kind of looks like is like,
is that hard to play that against those vampires? Because
you put yourself in those shoes, you put yourself in
thermost you know, boots, and then think, wow, I don't
know if I could do it. I don't know if
I could deal with all these babies and whatnot. It's

(26:35):
a lot, you know. And now with the real baby
in the house, we have baby Colin, and uh, and
that's the reason he hasn't left the house. He's not
going to leave a child in the arms of these
vampires who have forgotten what it's like to be human
from hundreds of years ago, even though they make their
best efforts that the only human in the house with
human empathy is is gem Yeah, that's that's awesome.

Speaker 16 (26:56):
I think a lot of your comedy is a lot
more cynical and just you know, reacting to the comedy
around you, and I think you do that really cleverly,
very often.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
Well, thank you. I appreciate that. It's very nice. Thank you,
Thank you for answering me.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
It was awesome. That was a great question. So many
great questions today. We have an awesome comunity here actually
speaking of the community while we're waiting for the next person.
I don't know if you're aware of this because you're busy, guy,
but Nandor and Guillermo, both independently of each other, have
been trending on Twitter for like over forty eight hours.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
Now.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Wow, aware of that?

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (27:32):
I was not.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
What's your reaction to that? What do you think about that?

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Well, that's I mean, send me those analytics. I would
love to see those sound great. I mean I didn't
know I had somebody text or message me and said
that the night of the show, Gierma was trending and
under the entertainment section, and Nandro was also trending, and
so it was just funny to think people are really

(27:57):
invested in these characters in the storyline. And I think
that every week we just get a glimpse of like,
you know, other frustration or people rooting for them and
whatever that is. People have their own interpretation of what
they should be to them in their head. Some people
want them together, some people don't see it. Some people
see them as really good friends with who are loved,
you know, who love love for each other. And I
think it's a little bit of everything. As of now,

(28:19):
we really don't know, but we know they have love
for each other. That's the one thing I can say
is that they truly do have love for each other.
And you have to to put up with something like
this for thirteen years, be mistreated, but still make a
choice to stay behind and and love someone that you know,
you know there's good in them. Maybe there's you know,

(28:39):
there's also moments of bad, but you know the good
in them, and that's what makes us stay in love.
Right we see something in someone that no one else sees.
But I feel like either love is shown by the
fans in this week and all weeks where that's so
great that they're you know, trending the name of Pierre
moornandor that's crazy. I mean, it never season to amaze

(29:03):
me how far the fans will go to support the show.
And I don't take it for granted. And I thank
you all for all the support you get to the show.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
That's awesome. That's a great reaction, and I think the
Twitter community deserve that shout out because they are so active.
Now dawn Storm one hundred and eleven, you are up
and you can ask your question.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Oh hi, this is so cool.

Speaker 9 (29:26):
I never thought I'm a big fan, big fan. I
was actually introduced to from Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist.

Speaker 11 (29:34):
You were in season two. I loved you on that show.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
Oh yes, George, thank you.

Speaker 14 (29:38):
Yes.

Speaker 15 (29:39):
I was actually really disappointed when he keeps showing up
because you're one.

Speaker 5 (29:43):
Of my favorites. But I love you on What are
you do in the Shadows as well?

Speaker 11 (29:48):
What would you say is one of your favorite filming experiences?

Speaker 5 (29:52):
Well, I would say for Shadows or even Zoe's. You know, yes,
I love doing Zoey's. I was supposed to do Zoe's
actually more, but schedule didn't allow. And I was supposed
to come back for Zoe's birthday episode because I was
supposed to sing kiss Me by sixpence on the Richer
because I come back with a new partner, a new job,
and I'm really happy with life, and so we're going
to show that element of George. But I didn't get

(30:14):
a chance to because the schedule. So we have to
spread that song with everyone to cut that song to
several pieces. But filming Zoe's was one of the greatest
experience I think as for a musical theater lover like
I am, and I went to school for musical theater
that was like musical theater camp. You would like either
you're dancing or rehearsing dancing, you're filming, or you're recording
the song in the studio that kids every musical theater

(30:36):
kids dream, and so filming Zoa's was one of my
favorite experiences. And with Shadows, it's like filming this world.
You know, the genre that we get to film and
the documentary style and we get to improvise. It's still
every day, like you know, it's a dream. It's a
dream job and one of my favorite moments is you know,
I could pick a moment from each season pretty much,

(30:59):
but recently the last season that we shot, one of
my favorite moments is shooting with Caveon and not knowing
that he was doing in prosthetics that day. I think
this is on on our TikTok. It's a video that
we put up where I opened my door to my
trailer and I just saw cave On in full prosthetics
and like he had a facelift, plastic surgery, eating his
dinner in his trade with his space, and it just

(31:20):
was one of my favorite things because he knew I
was watching him, and I was like, oh my god,
and need to play to the camera like eating his dinner.
And then he looked up and I had not seen
the prosthetics yet. So it's always nice surprised when you
get to setting you see someone like you know, laslow
in like a guy Fieri's shirt and a boater hat
or what do you call it the boat hat? Yeah, like,
and then you know, to see Natasha's dress, the pink

(31:43):
dress there was. It was lab or modeled after Mark
Simpson's episode where she gets a new dress for a
low cost at like a ross or something. And then
she goes to the country club and she remodels the
pink dress that was the inspiration for that pink outfit
with a little bit of a Jackie o. And then
to see Land during his zoop suit for the first time.

(32:03):
And we never saw this online but or on the
moot on the show, but there was a scene where
he improvised. He opened news like somebody stop me, like
Jim Carrey's the mask in his outfit, and it was
the funniest thing. I just couldn't stop laughing. So that's
one of my favorite memories this season.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
We have way more fun after line.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
All right, go ahead and ask your question.

Speaker 8 (32:34):
Hi.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
So first of all, before you got on, I said
that your suit was the best part of the episode.
I love your I love the costume directors and everything. Montgomery, Yeah,
it's amazing, And so I guess my question. We spoke
to a New week ago a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, yeah,

(33:00):
and normally you're the straight guy in the comedy of
crazy people, and I asked him what it was like
being like that guy who stands there and doesn't react
and you know, smirk sometimes and is the only sane
person in this house full of crazy people, he said immediately,

(33:23):
it's a lot easier than being funny. And he then
said I asked him if he ever broke because, like,
the two of you together just this magical, and he
said that he didn't because he was so amazed at
what good actors you guys are that he didn't realize
like a comedy has to be acted that well. I've

(33:46):
always wondered, what is it like being the other half
of one of the funniest characters that has ever been invented.

Speaker 5 (33:55):
I mean, it's a blessing just because you know, I
never had a chemistry with Kavon. It's one of once
in a lifetime kind of thing where you meet another
actor who gets your humor, who gets your timing, who
is giving, who is supportive. Keveon has become one of
my closest friends and and I genuinely love that guy,

(34:15):
like I literally he always checks in on me, like
you know, we're not filming. I think we just keep
in touch with each other throughout the months, and I
think that really kind of helps us, and that translates
over into our craft because you have to trust the
person that you're with. If you go into a group
setting and you go into a trust fall, you really
got to trust that person. There has to be no hesitation.

(34:38):
And I never hesitate with Kevan, and he doesn't hesitate
with me. He could turn around and do a trust
fall and I would always, you know, pick him up,
because you need that in comedy. You need to know
that your partner has your back and goes along with it.
You know, there's no like, what are you doing? You know,
what are you doing? You look silly? You stop? Stop,
you know you're dumb. You know, there's never that. There's

(34:58):
always that yes, and and Kevan goes along with it.
I mean, I wish you guys could all see the
stuff that he just does on you know, like he's
on offset, like or like just hanging out. He can
impersonate so many people, He does so many characters, like
he's just so great and it's so funny and so
always down to like have a good time. That I
didn't even think about that when we first started the show.

(35:19):
I just wanted to have staff chemistry. And I'm glad that,
by luck we did because we never had a chemistry
and I was nerve wrecking. I need to live at
that point, I had to live with that character for
ten years with him, you know, at this point it's
going on to fourteen years, which is a long time.
And so I think it helps that we are good
friends off of screen because it really resonates on screen,

(35:39):
and you really do believe us when we're on screen,
because there's just two people in front of you who
are acting these two characters, but who at the core
I really do care about each other. And now they're
like actually friends and they're actually friends, and they that
makes for good. You know, everybody loves seeing two friends
have a good time, you know what I mean, that's
what we're watching, you know, thinking of other like you know,
thinking of like my friends, you know, Tricksie and Katya

(36:00):
who have their podcast, and like we love watching and
that's what we watched them because they're two friends who
just get each other. They talk about everything and anything,
and that's what we love watching. When two organic people
bounce off each other, the energies, really it really resonates.
So I think with Cavan and I, that's that's what
it is. And I think that you know, like you said,
if that goes down in history as a dynamic duo,

(36:20):
then you know, by all means like, you know, we'll
we'll gladly uh take that title. But that was never
the intention. The intention was just to create good work
with two actors who love comedy, and as long as
we achieve that, everything else is just a cherry on top.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Well, I guess my second half of that is because
you are always very humble about your place. Were you like,
okay when you first started doing this, like oh my god,
this is like Taika and Jermaine and Cava and like
all of these kind of pretty big names with comedy,
and then you come and like dominate. How did that

(36:55):
feel at first?

Speaker 5 (36:57):
Well, that was never the intention. I feel like I
came into the the group with you. Remember that Giero
was the last person to be cast. You know, everyone
had to audition for the show except for Matt. Matt
was off for this role because he was friends with
taich Up and he was perfect. I can't even imagine
anyone else playing Laza. But everyone else auditioned for the
roles and they had already been cast. They had cast
everyone in the show except for my character. Because in

(37:17):
the pilot, Guiero's pretty background, like he's you know, he's
kind of the he's submissive, he's quiet, he's a servant,
and so he's kind of fading in the background a
little bit where these personages are bigger than life, right,
And we don't really see a glimpse of Giermo's like
potential until the end of the pilot where he's closing
the curtain and he's and he feels a little bit

(37:39):
ja and a little bit kind of taking advantage of that.
His master doesn't even know that it's been ten years.
He's so here you go for your two years and services.
It's been ten He's a really eh, he's all that one,
you know, for him? What is time to a vampire? Nothing,
they're immortal. Time to a human is everything. The clock
is ticking in. A decade went by in a blink
of an eye, and he's still in his had nandors like, oh,

(38:01):
in my head, you're still doing like two years. I
didn't think of will make a vampire this soon? No,
absolutely not. So we start seeing a little bit of
a glimpse and we could potentially happen with Guermo at
the end of that pilot episode, and then it just
grew from there, just like I think Paul Suin said
it best. You know, every time we throw you something,
you prove you can do it. So it's like, let's
make him new stunts. He can do it. Let's make
him do this. He can do it, So can do that?

(38:23):
Why was it? Can Ghermo do an emotional scene where
he cries? Yeah? And like you know, they throw these
curve balls at me as an actor, which are exciting,
and I get to display those talents because otherwise you
could really make this character a one note. You know
he's been but that could have gotten born really quick.
And I think they also saw how you guys are
fans really resonate with Guermo and and all you know,

(38:46):
And I've always said that from the beginning, it's like
the work, we'll speak for its off of if it's good,
it's good, and if it's accepted or appreciated, the audience
will let us know. And the fans have really taken
to Guermo and loved him, and bus so supportive and
and again, and I thank you so much for all
the love because it's I think, because you know, major
part because of the fans and how they show their

(39:07):
love through socials and just voicing their love for Germo
that that kind of tells, you know, the show or
the writers like, oh wait, people like it when he
jumps off a window people like. People like that he
has a soft side and he's emotional. People like that
he's like me, and he might cry in his room
with you know, with the little doll of a vampire.
So people speaking of vampire dolls I made.

Speaker 4 (39:29):
I made the whole cast, and you posted them on
Instagram about three weeks ago.

Speaker 5 (39:33):
Thank you. Oh well, there you go again. Like I whenever,
I was like when art supports you know, or artist
support artists, or when art inspires art. So it's like,
if you know, my interpretation of what someone wrote into
a script and then they costume, and then I got
to act in the camera person filmed it. There's like
a chain reaction. If all of that work of different

(39:54):
artists compelled you to create dolls of the form of
the characters, then it inspired you as an art this
so I always like to promote artists on my page.
So that's why I might get annoyed at some points,
because you see my stories is just repost the people's amazing.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
I don't think anyone could get annoyed by all the
awesome art in this community so much. All right, next up,
we have to keep it going, trashy fan girl.

Speaker 8 (40:19):
Hi, Hello, it's so soroughly to talk to you here.
So I wanted to thank you for being such a
good representation for me as a queer person of size.
I love to see you on the show. You're doing
amazing job. Thank you for that, Oh, thank you. In

(40:40):
the wedding episode, we say Germont as a wedding planner
for a n under So obviously an undoor makes a
lot of request for his big day. But planning a
wedding is a ship ton of decisions. None Door make
every tiny decision. Or did he let Germo have some

(41:04):
free reign of some details like are we on this
level of trust in the in their relationship.

Speaker 5 (41:11):
I think that Guillermo knows Nander so well that even
though Nandor has a list of really extravagant you know,
wants to desire it. I think it's just a facade.
I think Giermo knows his heart and so at the
end of the day, Kiermo will always pick what he
knows Nandor Or his master would really truly enjoy, because
he's leading with his heart, he's not leading with superficialness.

(41:33):
So even like the idea of the conversation with them
fighting was because you know, Nandor was focusing on the superficial,
like getting a Dodo for the raids to eat, Like
it's not possible. Why not, because they've been dead, you know,
since like the sixteen hundred. So it's like the idea
that Giermo knows what's best for Nander because he knows
him so well. No one else knows him that well.
And well, he's not choosing from the logical sense. He's

(41:57):
choosing from his ego. Nando is running off or like
he's just distracting. He's distracting himself, you know, with this
big wedding with like you know, uh, he's just even
like when its his character says, I just think he
did it because I wanted a wedding, you know, because
he wanted to have a big wedding. He wanted us
to have that feeling. He wants it so bad that
he's rushing into things really quickly because he wants it

(42:18):
so bad. You know, sometimes people look at someone getting
engaged and playing a wedding really quickly and like, slow down,
it's here, you know, and it's like no, it's like
it has to be perfect and it has to be this,
and it's like is there something else we don't know?
Because I feel like if if it's if it's true,
you know, and it's and it's gonna happen organically, there's
no There shouldn't be you losing sleep over the minutia
of the of the wedding. It should be you excited

(42:40):
about the union of two people or the union of
you and your partner, you know. And and so when
it's not that, that's when it's like whoa. I'm like,
we should reevaluate what's valuable and what's important to you.
But I think the Giermo takes the lead in this,
and he was frustrated for sure because he was losing sleep.
I mean, you know, I think today they posted on
the effect some socials like best Bridesmaid, best Man, best party,

(43:04):
you know, a wedding planner and someone made a really
cute art piece where it was the wedding planner with
Jennifer Lopez and who's the actor Jennifer Lopez And I'm
trying to think of the guy actor al Right, Matthew McConnaughey.
I was just like, alright, right, right, yes, they have
a poster of them from the Wedding Planner movie. And
then someone drew Guillermo and Nandor in those positions and

(43:25):
poses and said the Wedding Planner starring Giera mode La
Cruz and Nander the Relentless.

Speaker 8 (43:31):
Yeah, I saw that too, amazing. Thank you for swallowing
my question, of course, thank you.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
Oh right, this person has been waiting for forty seven minutes.
Oh my gosh, earned it. They've earned it, They've earned it.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
Hi, can you hear me?

Speaker 5 (43:46):
Yes?

Speaker 15 (43:47):
Sorry, this is my first time doing this, so I'm
not quite sure how it works.

Speaker 5 (43:50):
No, you're good.

Speaker 11 (43:52):
My name is Samantha.

Speaker 10 (43:54):
I so I love this whole wedding episode trope, and
I was wondering if you have a favorite wedding episode
from any other TV series?

Speaker 5 (44:04):
Are any TV series? M I guess I like the
I guess it wasn't really a wedding, but I mean
when Friends, they had a couple of weddings. When we
meet Rachel's character, she ran away from her wedding, so
that's funny. I like that one. Trying to think I

(44:24):
used to watch this reality show. It was a gypsy wedding,
and it was a reality show where they followed the
proceiit like the whole status of like getting your dress made,
and I was fascinated with that. And of course, I
guess I like reality shows because I like like weddings
and reality shows. The Real Housewives of Atlanta when one

(44:44):
of the girls was going to get married and her
mom and sister hit the license because they didn't want
her to get married to the guy that she was
getting married to, Cynthia. That was a character or that
was the person Cynthia. I guess I like weddings on
reality shows. I think, you know, because I do TV
and film a lot. My escape is not usually going
to scripted series or comedy. I usually watch people through

(45:06):
reality because that's my escape. I go watch people and
they're like, I mean, as much as reality TV is,
you know, this could be a little bit scripted, but uh,
it's as much as I like. I like seeing what
of the people are up to and be like, oh
my gosh, her wedding. It's like, oh my gosh, she
threw her wooden leg at her just you know, reality stuff.

Speaker 4 (45:26):
Yeah, I grew up watching like TLC and all that,
so I totally I totally get it.

Speaker 5 (45:30):
Yeah and totally so you get it, you get it.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
Yeah, I love the my big fat American gypsy wedding
shout out there. I've not thought about that show in
a I know that's what it.

Speaker 5 (45:40):
Was, a big fat American gypsy wedding. Yeah, and I
mean those dresses were like Serassi crystals to the like,
you know, from head to toe.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
Great yeah, yeah, yeah, So we can wrap up.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
