and we will be taking a look at those throughout
the show, so drop any comments there as well, and
we look forward to hearing from you. Either way, We'll
get started soon, and hang tight and get.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Comfy breathing this sole whelming. I bizarrees, so tell me
why would anyone want to be alive? Does might have
a reputation. Bushie arrives, but trust me, we have way
more fun. Fl We have way more funf line.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Can you hear me now? This is Randy, Randy.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
We can do Hi.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Hey, can you hear me in too? Jay? I can
hear you too. I can hear you Jay. Hi.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Oh, we are.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
So so excited to have you guys here.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Oh man, this is so fun. We are loving this
whole week of this show and the whole season as
fans of the show was like, oh my god, we
just don't want to come in and screw it up
because we love it so much.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
There is a very very active community too, and you
are here on the dedicated what we do in the
Shadows subreddit, so you are talking to the people that
love it, love it and know it the most.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
So cool, so cool. Look, this is, by the way,
this is not standard operating procedure when you go do
like a guest starring role on a show to go
do an am reddit, Like we didn't do an ama
reddit after we did Becker.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
So well, I was going to ask, since you were
fans of the show before joining, like, can you tell
us about what it was like to you. Were you
guys proactively trying to get on because you were fans
or what was that journey like?

Speaker 4 (02:25):
So that is usually that is definitely one way that
we get on shows is like we find a show
that we love and then pardon the term, but single
white female the hell out of it until we're like,
you gotta get us on. We gotta figure out a way,
and that has merited us work from time to time.
This was just one that we loved. So when the
audition came down, it felt like, on some level it

(02:47):
felt like it was written for us. We know that.
I don't know if it was or not. I mean,
the producers can tell you if they. I know that
we were kind of in mind, but they could have
gone a different direction. Once it came down, We're like,
oh my god, we have to get this, we have
to get this. It seems so funny, and we didn't
even see the full script. And then once you get
on the set, things come to life in other ways,

(03:07):
and it just blossomed into like the best professional experience
we've had.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
That's amazing. And how much of the Property Brothers as
you all know about before going in?

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Is it weird to admit that I've never seen one
episode of their show. I mean, I know them and
we've met them, like Randy and I actually did on
David Spade's Lights Out show. We did something called secret
stand Up where we were like, we're with Courtney Cox.
We did this and we're in this back room of

(03:41):
the comedy store and the Scott Brothers are on stage
and Randy and I are feeding them lines to do
as stand up comedians. And they're doing them, and it
was like, look, I think it's every woman's dream to
be inside of one of the Scott brothers. And we were,
Randy and I were inside of two of them, and
we were in their minds and we got to do it,
and we got to meet them before and anand and

(04:02):
they're super nice. And Randy saw one of them recently
and at Mike pro Biglio's opening show of his new
stage show in LA at the Mark Tape Forum, and
they're great. They're super nice guys. They're like six foot eight,
they look like model robots, they're gorgeous. We definitely aren't
those dudes. So I don't think our goal was to
like imitate those guys. I think like there was a

(04:25):
there was a note in one of the in the
script about the music that Randy and I very much
latched onto as actors and performers and just tried to
make that come to life, which was strong Christian rock vibes.
And as soon as we got that right now, we're like, Okay,
these guys are like these guys come to the youth

(04:46):
conference and they're like the cool pastors.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Oh yeah, yeah, they're the ones that backflipped onto stage.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Yeah. Yeah, turn the chair around, turn the chair around,
it down, and it's like, hey, guys, can we just
wrap about stuff?

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Hey listen sometimes I don't like to wear a belt either.
I'm on your wavelength, guys.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yeah, jumping jacks for Jesus, I get it. Oh, I
love it. I love it. Well, we're so excited to
hear more about your journey. We do have someone on
stage here to ask you a question live, and just
for everyone else who is just joining, welcome. If you
would like a chance to ask a question live, hit

(05:26):
that hand button and we will bring you up on
stage to ask your question. We're also checking the comments,
so if you want to drop your question there, feel free.
Quad ninety five you are on stage if you'd like
to unmute and ask your question.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Hello from work again.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
My question is like, when you got the script, were
you guys like, did you know who what was going
to happen in the beginning or did you guys just
kind of like pick it or what?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
So that's a great question, thank you, And because it
wasn't like Jason, you do this when I ran do
you do this? They basically they're like you guys, divide
it up however you want. And we started to read
it like we do any audition, and for some reason,
I just kept gravitating towards the brand role and Jason
was gravitating towards Toby. And we read in the audition

(06:15):
that Toby gets Toby gets killed. But you know, you
know this show, I mean, the baron has come back
like half a body. It's like, we didn't know the
rest of the script, like, so we don't know if
like he then becomes a vampire. So I mean, in
that sense, we're like, oh my god, the Toby character
might be the craziest character of all because he gets

(06:36):
bitten and then maybe he becomes a vampire. So we
didn't know what it was going to be after that.
We just knew that it was really funny that we
walk in the door and nudge immediately immediately one of
us is just killed, Like we just came with such
positive energy and a whole produced show open, and then
one of us is just gone. And I think that's
that was their initial joke that they were I think

(06:56):
working with when they had that concept, and so we
laughed a lot at that, But I didn't realize that
I would that'd be the end of what I was
doing in the show. And so I hung around a
lot on set because I just love the show so much.
So I would just watch, you know, I loved watching
them do what they were doing. And Yanna Gorskay, who's

(07:16):
the director, was amazing. She's an amazing director and editor.
I think she edited this episode too. It was like,
you know, for her, she was just laughing at all
the takes. And I was pitching Randy some jokes and
lines to improvise with and play with in other scenes.
And I just didn't want to leave the set even
though my character was gone. That's how fun it was.

Speaker 6 (07:38):
Who knows, maybe they'll like bury him in the yard
and bring him back another heaven.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Amen. Amen, nothing, I mean, listen, I think what's crazy
is the response to this episode has been. I mean,
we can already tell it. It's been insane. Even on
our thing. We just posted on our Instagram, like the
produced open for go Flip yourself. Literally we posted on
it and collabed with the Shadows FX, you know, with

(08:03):
their Instagram, and it's like insane. I mean, it's been
viewed like hundreds of thousands of times. It's insane. So
who knows, Maybe they'll figure out some way to bring
us back, which of course we would do in a second.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Well, I think that's all I have, so thank you
for your time, huge fan, Thank you, and go back
to doing what I'm paid for.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
We'll come back soon. We love having you.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Oh my gosh, that's amazing. I mean I love hearing
about the behind the scenes matching what we see on
the screen because you can tell that everyone's having so
much fun. And this is just such a testament to
be like, Okay, my fantasies about what's happening on set
are true.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
I mean so much so, and like, you know what
they did that was that we can share. That's really
that I think is really cool and this helped us
out a lot. So the first night we're shooting, it's
like super cold. It's November and it's in Toronto, so
it's freezing and it's a shoot for us that's going
to go to like four in the mornings because they're

(09:07):
shooting overnight. So we get there and we're all amped
up and we're super excited to be there and then instead,
like all the trailers, this is very like Hollywood speak,
but the trailers for all the talent was over at
one point, kind of behind the where the house is,
and then they had like one trailer for all the
casts to wait in before they would be brought to set,

(09:29):
which is much closer to set. So in that trailer,
we're just hanging out with Natasha and Matt and you know,
and Harry and Caveon and like, we're all just hanging
out and Jay and I just love to riff with people,
and I mean, this is the beauty of what we
love to do. And so here we are just gagging
around with these guys, and I think it made them

(09:50):
super comfortable with us. It certainly made us really comfortable,
and we were having the best time. And then they
call us to set so that when we get on
the set, it's like the already know that we can
be funny. They already know they've just seen us like
be funny in a context that wasn't even related to
the show. And then we got out there and it
was like, oh yeah, they were just ready to play.

(10:11):
It was such a I don't know if they did
that just so that everybody would be warm before they
got outside, and they were going to be in the
freezing cold or they did it to sort of in
an abstract way to create chemistry with the cast, but
it did well. It showed.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I mean, you all slotted in so perfectly.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Yes, I love, I love. Also thinking of you know,
I know you were talking about getting warm in terms
of like getting to know each other, but also thinking
of Toronto being very cold was very nice.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Oh and cozy.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Oh yeah, t Staffer, you're on. If you'd like to
ask your question.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Hied the first I loved you guys in Mighty Med
so I was very excited to see you guys, and
I just expected it to be a small cameo in
the first episode and was so pumped to see a
full episode for you.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
My question was for how much did you actually know
you were going to be Simon the Dubus. Was that
a surprise or did you come into it knowing you
were playing an alter ego of Simon.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Yeah, so that's a great question. So I did know that,
and that actually super informed how I played the character.
And the more I was like getting in good with
with Matt's character, the more BRAND was like buddying up
to t Laslow like coming up with their nicknames for

(11:31):
him and just hanging out with him and hugging him
and all this other stuff. Like the worse it was
it's revealed that it's Simon.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
So to me, oh, I've got to rewatch that to
see to see you do that.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
I didn't even like catch that. That's great, budding up
to him so much. He's like telling me a story
about his hats, and I'm like anticipating it, and I
love it, you know. I'm like, I'm like basically his
hype man throughout, and he's, of course, I know he
loves the show, so like he's just so excited that
we're there that I'm feeding off of that in a
way that is actually quite devious because I know I'm

(12:05):
going to screw them in the end. It just is
so great because it just to me made it more
funny when I'm literally becoming best friends with them. Great question, T.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Stafford. Do you have any other questions?

Speaker 1 (12:17):
I mean, yeah, I just I was very excited to
see you in this because I've always enjoyed your work.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Thank you so so much.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Thanks so much. T. Stafford. Have agrest of your day
and come back up if you have another question.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
This person actually in the comments asked the question I
was going to ask you all, but Stace M Joe asks, Hi,
excellent work with a smiley face. You have lots of
fans here you too. Were there any unexpected moments of
improv that sprung up while filming this last episode?

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Yes, totally. There were so many. Uh when when Naj
is hypnotizing the whole crew, and there's like two parts
to it, she hypnotized everyone and then does the flash
back to when she hypnotizes the whole crew and she's like,
you know, all of you guys who are here, plus
everyone else who's a part of the show. And then

(13:09):
she stops and she's like, well, who else, who else?
Who else would watch this? Who else would watch this?
And I just started to say the lines that were
in there, which were like editors and there's producers, and
there are people at the network and standards and practices,
and then she wasn't stopping me, so I just kept going.
I was like, there's a producer whose girlfriend once saw

(13:29):
one cut of the show, and now her name's Wendy
and we have to give her cuts. And then she
wasn't stoping me, and I was like one time we
were renovating a house and a kid flew a kite
in the attic, and now we let him take a
look at some of the guy. I mean, it was ridiculous.
We just kept going and going, going in and then
she's like, all right, all right, all right, fine, all
those people too. But it was great how long she
let it go. And of course my whole goal was

(13:50):
to try and get her to crack up, but to
do that in a very dead pan way that was
really funny. Yeah, I still had to act like you
were being hypnotized. Was like improvising as a hypnotized like
a person was very fun. That was really fun. And
then a thing that didn't make it in that I
love so much. It didn't make it in, but it
was fine is when I go up to the man

(14:11):
Cave with cave On and Nandor and Marwa, And first
of all, I love that I kept calling Nander like
like a guy who wouldn't know his name and just
make it more folksy, you know, or like the way
like a white like Christian rocky guy would just like
never take the time to actually find out how to

(14:33):
properly pronounce his man Yan Nander over here, and so
I was talking to him about, you know, just look
at his bar, at this amazing bar. And then I
came around to the front. They cut it down, but
it's fine. I came around to the front and I
just started like giving the cameraman, my crew cameraman a name.

(14:54):
So I was like, hey, hey, Merle, I just think
that's a funny name for a guy. I was like, Merle,
can we get a shot at the front of his
bar here? That's it. It's a tight any ceu. It's
an extreme close up at the front. We look at
the wood on this thing, and I just we just
kept on going through terms like that. So those the
improvs would come up, and of course Yanna like encouraged
it in the best way and as long as it

(15:15):
didn't take away from the scene. And those moments were
just so so dumb and fun.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
That's amazing. Thank you for that.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
We have way more funny after life.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
We have Trashy Fangirl on to ask a question if
you'd like to un meet yourself.

Speaker 7 (15:39):
And ask hey, wondering saying that you are the funds
of the show and what were you the most excited
before coming for the first time on set, Like, did
anything surprise you out there? Did you find your favorite
place on the set or something like that.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Yeah, great question, Jay, go ahead, I'll let you answer.
I mean I was like so obviously, like the audious
answer is just getting to like play with those guys
and hang with those guys, Like we knew we would
be able to spend quality time with them, so we
were super excited about that. I was actually excited to
walk into the set and see what the house was
like and see, you know, just to explore around on

(16:21):
the set. It was so cool and it is a beautiful, practical,
like big set and it's like, you know, this is
one of the most iconic looking sets on television, and
so to just go in and out of the rooms,
you do feel it does help you as an actor,
like you are like, wait, I'm in a very specific place,

(16:42):
and it does like help you zero in on. There's
not a lot of make you don't have to make
believe a lot when you're in there, you're really feeling it.
So I was really psyched just to see the inside
of the house. Yeah, the inside of the house was amazing,
even though it was in disarray with our episode. It
was amazing and super fun I mean, I just loved
I was really excited to get to play with you know,

(17:05):
Natasha Demetrio and and Matt Barry. We knew Matt through
a friend of ours, Rich Fulture, who did a sketch
theories with Matt called if you haven't seen it, you
must see it. I'm sure you guys are aware of it.
You guys are aware of it. It's so funny. And
he and Rich is an old friend of ours who
we've worked with for a long time and he and Matt,

(17:27):
so we kind of knew him through that, and didn't
we have them like guests do our podcast one time,
like they Yeah, there's a big gifted around for a while.
It was really fun and those guys are great and
I was just excited. And of course Jane and I
like huge fans of like it goes deep like staff
Lets Flats, you know Natasha's brother Jamie's show on BBC

(17:51):
that she's on as well. That was so funny, so
we're like went I took a deep dive into you know,
some of the sketch stuff that she's done, and just
fans I mean, of course, and at Harvey. We were
like super excited to just play with those guys, and
when we got there and found that they were so gracious,
so fun, Like there were nonverbal things that we didn't

(18:12):
even discussed that we were going to do in scenes
like with Matt and we just and he just did them,
and we just went with it. And that's when you
know it's like operating on a very very high level.
I think the last thing I would say is it's
like we've been fortunate enough to work on all kinds
of shows, shows that we're on life support and feeling

(18:32):
like they weren't going to come back, and shows that
were very new and weren't sure what their future was.
Like we were looking forward to showing up on a
set where they knew that they're like, this is the
prime of the show. It's kicking on all cylinders. The
network is obviously behind him, they're doing great stuff. So
when you go to a set like that, everyone's in

(18:54):
a good mood and they give you room to play.
And so we knew that was going to be the case,
and exactly it was exactly that. And that just feels good.
You feed off that energy.

Speaker 7 (19:07):
Thank you, This sounds amazing. Oh, can I ask one
more question?

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Sure? Sure, Did you get to.

Speaker 7 (19:14):
See any more parts of the set beside the house
or just the house?

Speaker 4 (19:20):
Where else? Yeah? So so so, yeah, that's actually a
great question. So you know, they don't always They filmed
sometimes two parts of two episodes at once, and during
the time we were up there, they would have you
get COVID tested regularly, and so they'd bring you to
maybe the other set or another place that they're shooting
to COVID test you, and then you're there. And so

(19:43):
when we were there, they were shooting at the night
Market episode. So we went out like, oh my god,
this is the coolest thing ever. So here we're just
getting COVID tested. But of course, even though it's our
day off, we like wanted to be around everybody. So,
like we went to the at where they shot the
night Market and we got to see them shoot some
of that stuff. It was so beautiful. We saw rehearsal

(20:06):
of the fight scene, Harvey's fight scene, Giermo's fight scene,
and they in front of like all the parked cars
and it was in this like huge what was yeah.
So so and on my last day I had to
stay an extra day to shoot that final photograph, like
the black and white photograph where it gives the date

(20:27):
to Toby's life at the end of the show. And
so they did a photo shoot with me that day,
and so I was hanging around. I wasn't taking off
till the next morning, and they were like, come to
the sets and I were doing like a celebration for
Harvey's birthday. There's gonna be like taco trucks, and that
was Harvey. It was maybe the cave Maybe it was

(20:48):
Caveon's birthday. And so I so I took an uber
all the way out to this thing, like out on
the docks. It's so far in a weird part of
across the river, across the water from it wasn't a
part of were people from Toronto don't even know where
it is. And the uber guys like, I'm just gonna
let you out here, and I'm like, I don't know
how to get into this place. I'm like behind a
fence and I like walking in darkness and I feel

(21:10):
like I'm in an episode of what We Do in
the Shadows, Like I'm going to get killed by a
vampire and I keep walking walking, find like a hole
in the fence, I find my way in, and I'm
you know, I'm not part of the cast, but I've
been part of the cast for the past few weeks
and been hanging out with them, and they were so
sweet to me and happy to see me and like,
welcome me into this whole celebration. And it was at

(21:32):
the night market set, and I got to see the
subway shots and how they did the you know, the
subway cars not moving, and they did all these really
cool lights on the outside to make it look like
it was moving. I got to watch how they filmed
that and it was awesome.

Speaker 7 (21:46):
This sounds crazy and just amazing. So good for you guys.
Thank you for unswerting me.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Of course, great great questions.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Thank you, thanks so much. Trashy fangirl. Moving right on
to Rebels.

Speaker 8 (22:00):
Beth Hi really big fan of the episode. Was so incredible.
My question, what was the process like of filming like
the snippets of clip yourself that we see in the
other episodes, as well as like the intro, what was
it like?

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Okay, first of all, great question, because that was super
fun and we got to work with all the other directors,
so Kyle and there was another director that we worked
with Teek I believe was his name, the other director,
and yeah, so we had to like go out to
these this house and like work with all these other
actors and they really let us improvise. It was so funny.

(22:38):
They like gave us the script and then we internalized
kind of what we were saying because we knew that
what we were saying was going to end up on
a TV like with the crew betting like what are
these guys going to do next? And then in the
background of you know, the first shot in the first
scene of the first episode of the new season, so
we're like, we have to really play this as real

(23:00):
as possible. I mean, it made us say like we
got to do this show, like is there a way
to figure out a way to do go flip yourself
as like a vampire renovation show, Like we need to
figure this out. So and the other thing was like
you come from this like super dark set that is
really only lit by like you know what we do
in the shadows, actual set house and all that stuff

(23:22):
is like the darkest set we've ever been on. And
then the goal and the point was to make these
scenes so bright and like stark opposite to that. And
so we've been on this dark set for so long,
and all of a sudden you start shooting these like big,
wide open like sawing boards and a white garage and

(23:42):
everything super bright and pull off your blindfold in front
of the house and getting people to jump around, and
it was so funny. I think they filmed like. The
other thing is they were This is how much they
wanted to get things exactly right. There's a shot in
the show open of our fake shh where I'm putting
my foot on a shovel and pushing it into dirt,

(24:05):
and I think we I think we did that like
twenty times because they're like, Nope, that's not looking like
and I'm like, I'm doing the best I can. I
don't know if I'm doing this right. They're like, it's
not you. We just need like it has to hit
this beat in the song and it has to do
this thing like this. And that's how much they were
focused on trying to make this look exactly like its
own real show. And I had a friend tell me,

(24:27):
who's done reality shows like this? Household big shows? They're like, who,
who did they get to make that show up? And
because that's like every show up and we do for
our show, and I'm like, oh my god, they just
they just literally nailed it, Like the handshake into the
super slow mo backup, they just they nailed. It's so funny.
It goes It goes to back to something that Chris

(24:48):
Rock said a long time ago about director Adam McKay,
and he said, you know, could Adam McKay make any
one of Steven Soderberg's movies? And he was like, yeah,
he probably do a great job of it, and it's
evidenced of all the movies that McKay has made. And
then he said, could Steven Soderberg make Anchorman? He's like,

(25:10):
hell no, it takes it to be a great comedy director.
You have to have so many jobs. So can the
wonderful directors of what We do in the Shadows make
a really close approximation of one of these like house
swerving shows. Yeah, they're They're incredible and they did it.
I don't think the people who direct like Flip that

(25:31):
Flip or Flop could do an episode of what we
do in the Shadows.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
No, that was a great pull, by the way, and
a great comparison.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Between the two. Yeah, hell yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Rebels, Beth, do you have any other questions?

Speaker 3 (25:44):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (25:45):
No, thank you. It was absolutely perfect, and it was
such a perfect like almost satire of like these programs.
So it was great to hear how much thought went
into it. So thank you so much for answering my question.
And I hope you have a lovely day.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Oh you are awesome. That was so sweet.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Thanks so much. I mean, it's so true the fact
that you guys have not watched an episode, Like I
don't know how you were able to nail it so
spot on without having had watched multiple seasons, let alone
a single episode of Property Brothers.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
They're great. I mean, they're kind of crazy. It's and
it's crazy like how successful they are, like their success
like will never see the success level that they have,
like it's just nowhere near but deep down inside, and
both of those guys wish they did comedy. And both
of those guys, you.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Both are so successful in your own right. I think
it really depends, you know, thank you guys for using
as your metric here.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Well, well, so let me say this, like honestly getting
to do this show and getting to do a memorable
episode of this show like this one and getting to
be a part of their universe. That is, as far
as we're concerned, like the apex of success. So we
are feeling very good about what we're doing right now
and we feel very fortunate and like super.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Lucky, amazing, Thank you so much, And onto our next
question from I'm just going to say, yaghim.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
Hi hi, So.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
I just want to take me back on the episode.

Speaker 7 (27:15):
And then also I was.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
Going to ask, would you ever commit to a bit
as much as Simon is?

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Oh my god, the long play that he did for
that thing is I mean, that was the other. So
that was the other. I mean this is again, why
what we do in the Shadows is such an unbelievable show,
is that they take a bit that what it's like,
It's not like this this house slipping show came out
of left field. Like the reason the house was in

(27:44):
disarray was because they went overseas for a year or
however long they were gone, so then the house just
went into disrepair. And then you're like, well, the only
show that is soothing, baby Colin Robinson is this weird
house flipping show, which, by the way, that makes sense
in the grand scheme of things. And then you're like, well,
of course that they're going to have to come and

(28:06):
flip the house and renovate it, and it all kind
of makes sense. So in that one way that that
could have been the closed circle, but the fact that
it was the long play of Nick Kroll's character, Simon
the devious, who just wanted the hat back and to
us when we read the whole idea that he thought
of the show found somebody else who didn't who didn't

(28:28):
know construction, like even okay, so even that detail. This
is again why this show is so funny. The fact
that they could have just said it's you, Simon the DVS, Yes,
I tricked you by being the host of the show.
But they had to like bring up all like this
is why it's so funny, all these details, and then
someone's like, why didn't you just get someone who had

(28:48):
construction experience, And then he made the joke about how
it's about the it factor in the chemistry that hole
back and forth is such a funny detail, and it
show it was like an extreme, like extra amount of
work that this guy had to do to try and
pull this thing off. Would we ever do that in
the long play of our Lives like I wish I

(29:10):
had that kind of sting. Yes, yes, that to us
is like because we love doing bits with our friends
and like that to us brings us so much joy
that to do the long play bit is like the greatest, greatest,
overall sort of joke you can play yagam?

Speaker 2 (29:27):
How is that?

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Thanks?

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yeah, that's great.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
Thank you, Chris aw course, of course.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Thanks so much for asking your question. All right, we
have way more fun at life. And now we're on
to half Man, half Skeleton.

Speaker 9 (29:51):
Hey, thank you. I had more like a comment and
a question. I wanted to commend you physically. I really
watched it the episode today knowing that the reveal was
coming up, and honestly, just do mandalisms oozed Simon as
especially as we got closer to the level it was

(30:11):
really impested.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
I was like, Oh, this is obvious. How did we
not see it?

Speaker 4 (30:15):
Book?

Speaker 5 (30:15):
He didn't see because it was designed that way. Did
you get to work with Nick Coole much coming into
that reveal? And how was that?

Speaker 4 (30:23):
So? We know Nick for we've known him for years
and we did we gotta find this Jay, we have
to put it out into the world. We did a
web series with Nick Kroll years ago called Layers. It's
the dumbest I love this series so much, where he
played an agent who represents other Hollywood agents and we

(30:47):
played his publicists. And the whole thing was that we
were trying to make a web series about him and
put him in situations that are good for the web
series but terrible for his business. So as the ratings
go up for the and his web series gets watched,
it's ruining his life as an agent. So it was

(31:09):
so much fun. So we've like we've worked with him
a lot over the years and we know him really well,
and so of course I loved him on the show
and spent a lot of time, I mean, being really
familiar with the show, kind of understanding who he was
on the show and why he like. The thing that
makes him so funny is that there's like he's like
almost really too tired for what he's doing at all times,

(31:32):
which I think is right. It's like it's like a sweaty, exhausted,
such a funny like there's such a there's such a
He did a great job shaping this character, so it's
it's easy and Randy of course didn't want to give
it away. I'll speak for you in a second, because
I was watching it, Ran he wanted to inint at it,
and then I think it really comes out at the

(31:54):
end when they're in the closet and Randy's like, deal
with it, and he really like that's a phrase that
Simon has said, I believe in the earlier episode, right Ran, Yeah,
or just thelong those lines that it was like, please
make it super simony when you say that, and then
it's like, wait a minute, what's going on here? And
then boom, it's him.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
It definitely definitely came across. He's got like the specific
way that he moves that I was catching as well.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
It was awesome. Yeah, love to.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
See that websits if you guys can find it.

Speaker 4 (32:26):
We got it. We got to put it out there.
You would love it. I mean great pe Who else
was in it? Like Andy Daly was in it? Jay?
Who else did it? Jason Nash, Andy Daly? There are
a lot of funny people in that.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Oh my gosh, please put it. It kind of reminds
of another Nick Prolo classic publicity right because he's he's
like obviously entrenched and very knowledgeable about these areas of
the entertainment industry. And he's the perfect person to do
like satire on them.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Exactly, perfect with a little bit of cross dressing.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Sure, exactly, Thanks so much, half Man, half Skeleton. Do
you have any other question us? That was it?

Speaker 5 (33:01):
Thank you so much. Loved the episode, Thank you, thank
you so much.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
All Right, we're inviting our next person on quad. You
are back if you'd like to unmute ask your question.

Speaker 6 (33:11):
Hello again, I'm finally off work.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
Okay, day.

Speaker 6 (33:17):
So, since you guys are also fans of the show,
are you guys like keeping up with the season, and
if so, do you guys like know what's going to
happen or are you also like waiting like the rest
of us?

Speaker 4 (33:26):
Great question. We are keeping up with the season, and
I don't know what. We don't know. We don't know what. Yeah, yeah,
we don't know. I'm like super exciting. It's like we
were now part We are a part of this thing
and in a great way, and now we get to
just enjoy the rest of it. How how it plays
itself out, we don't know, which is good. They do

(33:47):
a good job of keeping it sort of under wraps,
so like other than like the night Market, but that
episode was before ours, so we got to see a
little bit of that being shot. Other than that, like
we didn't know anything of the episodes after us. So yeah,
I'm like everybody, I get to go back to being
a fan and watching what happened.

Speaker 6 (34:06):
You get to cry at the end of the season,
like the rest of us.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Oh my god. Yes, But then we'll be crying for
another reason, because we're going to be like secretly wanting
to come back so hard next year. But you know,
like we'll be crying for that to happen. The resurrection
of Toby. The resurrection is that Jesus was the carpenter
and they brought him back, so they need to be
able to bring me back to Jesus was a carpenter.

(34:31):
They brought him back. See that's a joke we could
make in this show. Jesus was a carpenter, they brought him.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
I mean, it's your vampire show.

Speaker 6 (34:38):
Toby and Therek can be best friends.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
I mean, come on, come on, Toby and the Baron.
That's hilarious. I would watch that as a sitcom.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
Okay, that's all I had to ask. Actually have to
go home now, All right, great question.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Back, Thanks for coming back, no problem, and happy time.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
Off work.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Yes, yes, I love it. It's a vamp show. Resurrection
like death is not real on a vampire show.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
Anybody can come back any for any way, shape or form.
Like you never know what if Glaslow like misses the
show so much, or what if uh you know, uh
what if nandor misses it so much that he wants
to resurrect him so that they can like redesign other
stuff like why not?

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Totally?

Speaker 5 (35:21):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (35:22):
I mean, I've seen one life to live. It's been weirder. Sure,
uh T Staffer is back, and I'm wondering if T
Staffer is going to ask the question that they put
in the comments go for it.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
Since since you were able to wear the hat in
the final like ending scene of the episode, I have
to know if that bloody cursive hat actually has a
prop which is asshole on it on the inside.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
I mean yes, and it's I mean it's design. It
is so uncomfortable to where it's like so heavy. Do
you remember like when you went to the dentist and
as a kid and they put and you get your
X rays and they put that like super heavy apron
on you so that you don't get radiation of a
bit like, that's how heavy the hat looks so like

(36:06):
I wore it just in that one scene, I'm like,
oh my god, this thing is like twenty pounds and is.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
It made from like real leather or yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
The crazy thing is it does feel like skin. So
the more you put it on your head, the more
you're like, this could be like a witch's asshole. It's ridiculous, Like,
how gross did it? It's a gross half. It's a
great question.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Awesome, Thank you so much. All right, and now we
have on Rock Lobster. You are on if you'd like
to unmute and ask your question, I'm sorry, it's Rock, Hi,
I miss so second Rock, but it's an even more
awesome And yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
I was just wondering if there were any really funny
moments that your surprise didn't like it to the final
cut on what they were.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
I mean, we I thought the scenes we were doing
with the people in the in our fake show were
getting really funny, like we were we were improvising and
going so far off and like breaking down like Rocky
movies when describing to this woman about like what her
marble marble countertops needed to be, and we were getting

(37:17):
into arguments and just we were going now to those
little scenes and they were really funny, and I thought
maybe more of those would make it in just being
on the TV and just you'd catch a snippet of
us being so stupid. But like Randy said, maybe we
can save that for another day, for the actual someday,
like do all it'll be like better call Saul. It's

(37:38):
like a spin off where there was one hundred and
fifty episodes of this house flipping show where one of
us as a vampire. Yeah. I mean the things that
I mentioned earlier, like the joke about were just some
like calling out, you know, cameramen and whatnot, like every
scene we did. So the beauty of the show is
you basically the way they shoot it is they you

(38:00):
get it exactly as it's written in the script so
that it can be seen as that way, and for
time purposes, that's what it is. And then you know,
Yana would be like, all right, let's just have fun,
do a fun run, go whatever you want. And those
moments were like insane because she would not yell cut
and you just would keep going and then finally she
would yell cut and she would crack up. So it was.

(38:23):
It was wonderful because you just were like, Okay, we're
in the reality of this moment and I don't want
to stop. I just want to keep going. And when
you know who your character is on two levels, we
know that this is like a very Christian rocky type guy,
and underneath it all, you know it's Simon the Bebius.
You know exactly how you want you can improvise these
people so at this guy. So those moments were just

(38:46):
great when I'd like dig into the minutia of the people.
There was a moment where we were like I was
taking stuff out of the out of the van as
they're starting to do the renovation, and they kept the
camera on the end. I just start talking to all
the crew people, Hey, Jeff it going, how's your girlfriends?
You know, I mean like asking all these questions as
you got to get out of here, your knuckle ahead,
and like we just I just kept going. The camera's on.

(39:09):
They're like, we may not use this, and it was
just part of a montage. But that was super fun.

Speaker 5 (39:14):
That was so much fun.

Speaker 8 (39:15):
Apparently they're going to release how Lord of the stuff
that's not been included at some point, so maybe we'll
say it.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
Yeah, thank you, thank you, thank you, thanks so much.
Rocks rock.

Speaker 8 (39:30):
Name.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
I know I missed the second rock to you the
first time. That was That was my fault. Hopefully we
redeemed ourselves here. Okay, a fun question from a not
so appropriate username, so we'll just say bleep and fart humor.
Asks which score would win in a wrestling match?

Speaker 4 (39:51):
Oh my god, jeez, I don't know. I mean, we
stop physically, we've stopped physically fighting each other, thankfully, Thankfully
we've stopped that in our old days. We never we
never come to the to the finishing of a fight
like we would always like when we fought as kids.
It's a good question, but and I don't know the answer.

(40:13):
Like when we fought as kids, we would just get
tired of fighting and then just be like, what are
we even doing? And then stop? That was it every time,
and that's how we'd make up. Just exhaustion help us
get over a fight. But yes, I don't I don't
know that either of us would win. You know, who
would win if we in a fight between the two
of us America? I think put that on pay per view.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
I love it, but I also feel like that's good
for your mom because she never really had she could
just let it kind of peter out.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
It's like running a couple of golden retrievers, like they'll
tire themselves out.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Yeah, oh that's amazing. I'm I'm curious, since you got
to go on this amazing practical set, did you take
any souvenir from the at home with you?

Speaker 4 (41:03):
That would have been great? Like a raccoon having sex
under a chair.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
I mean, there's so many great things to choose from.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
Home is where the the home is, where the wine is?
I want that to me when Kavon's character is like,
is home really where the wine is? Like when he
sincerely asked that question, I had a mouth full of
Lacroix that I literally spit. I did an old school

(41:31):
Jerry Lewis spit take laugh like liquid everywhere. I would
want that sign. I think that's pretty class. Could have
taken it, because you can always purn out a new one,
But damn it, we should have taken that.

Speaker 5 (41:45):
Look.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
I I'm happy to do a quick atsy search the
next time we get someone on stage to see if
that's available, because I'm sure it is.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
It has to be.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
It has to be and we'll send one to you.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
Perfect.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
All right, It really really was awesome. Thank you both
so much for taking the time and dropping by. You
clearly have so many fans here on Reddit. Please come
back anytime.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
We'd love to. And we should say to all these guys,
you know, we should mention this other thing that we're
doing because we're so proud of it. If you want
to see more of, like, hey, I want to see
more of what you guys do. We just launched a show.
So we did a show on ESPN Classic years ago
that is like the show that people really remember us for.
It's like Mystery Science Theater but with old weird sporting events.

(42:32):
So it's a running commentary of jokes on all that stuff.
And we it was called Cheap Seats, and everybody was like, man,
when do you got to bring that show back? When
you gott to bring it back? And so we did
just bring it back. It's called the new show is
called The Nosebleeds. And if you go to our Instagram,
we're at Squaw Brothers. There's a little link in the
YouTube and it's us making fun of the old weird
footage from the early days of UFC. And there are

(42:54):
sketches in it. Tony Hale, Andy Richter, John Hamm, Marlyn,
Rice cub, Rob Cordrey, such funny people who helped us
do this show. And it's called The Nosebleeds. And I
just think we're so proud of it. So if anybody's like, hey,
I want to see what else you guys are doing,
check that out.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
Thank you so much about it, because you all have
done so much. I mean, just like going through your IMDb,
it's quite the scroll. So I encourage everyone to check
out The Scholar Brothers definitely on what we do in
The Shodows, but also in The Nosebleed. And thank you
guys again, and I hope you have an amazing rest
of your day, and I hope everyone else who's listening

(43:33):
does too.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
Yeah, thank you guys, thank you.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Thank you. We had a great time too.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
So you did great.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Oh my gosh, but stop it. That's so nice. You're
far too kind, just making my day slash week slash year.

Speaker 4 (43:50):
Hello it. Hopefully we'll hopefully we'll do this again after
another episode with Toby and Brands someday maybe in the future.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Cross yes, cross your finger for that resurrection there Love.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
It all right, bye guys, fine, thank you.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
Then Nissle Bewhelming Huddizar has to tell me why would
