Welcome to Bengali Girl, the podcast that explores the experiences and perspectives of modern-day Bengali women. In this episode, we delve into the topic of mental health and its space in Bangladesh.
Mental health is a taboo subject in many South Asian cultures, and Bangladesh is no exception. Stigma and shame often prevent individuals from seeking help or even discussing their struggles with loved ones. But as mental health issues become increasingly prevalent, it's more important than ever to break down these barriers and have open and honest conversations.
As a Bengali woman who has experienced mental health challenges herself, I share my own research and personal experiences with mental health. We discuss the challenges and opportunities for mental health advocacy in Bangladesh and explore cultural attitudes towards mental health and the ways in which they can be shifted to promote greater understanding and support.
Bengali Girl is a podcast that aims to create a space for Bengali women to share their stories and perspectives on a wide range of topics. Whether you're a member of the Bengali community or simply interested in learning more about our experiences, we invite you to join us for thought-provoking discussions and engaging conversations.
