Change your Perspective, change your Life! I'm a husband, a son, a father, and a grandfather. I'm a Caribbean American from St Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I'm an Army Veteran who has been to war and served in multiple countries around the world. I'm trained in veteran's peer support. I'm an ordained pastor, privileged to serve in the local church. I've had crazy diverse job experiences and owned businesses, and because of all of this, I have some unique views, but what really matters here, is that I am Benjamin, a son of God, designed to love God and love people. I believe I'm called to change people's perspectives, because if I can change your perspective, you can change your life.

It seems The Lord has revealed things to people, and instead of sharing this new found revelation with others, a Denomination or Church was built around it. In some cases adding rules and regulations that keep you in bondage, rather than the freedom that revelation was supposed to bring . What do you think?

Jeremiah 1:5 and Psalms 139:13-17 changed me. Because of these two scriptures, which explain I had absolutely nothing to do with the color of my skin, I decided to pursue why I am this color, rather than placing my identity in it. I am Benjamin, who was made a darker complexion on purpose, with a purpose.

The Last Supper in the book of Matthew shows an interesting perspective of the difference between Religion & Relationship. Judas called Jesus Rabi, but the other 11 Disciples called Him Lord.

Unforgiveness was never designed for the other person. It was designed for you.
Freedom is always worth the cost of forgiveness because the poison of unforgiveness kills you, not them. It keeps your heart & souls in bondage, not theirs.

Trusting can be tricky. Especially if you've been hurt before. Trust also can take time. I share a couple principles that have helped me. Hopefully they help you.

How do you define a man? Ask as many men as you like, you will get a wide variety of answers. Some taught, some based on culture, some as crazy as me being told I am a man when you have sex with a goat. No lie!

A Bible verse I love is 2 Corinthians 5:19. That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God].

In the beginning, I too had the incorrect perspective on being a Christian and the way I treated Homosexuality. Do I agree with it, no. But, my agreement is not necessary to love, respect and be able to have open and honest conversations. My responsibility is not to change anyone, that belongs to Jesus. Ask 5 different people what success means to them, and you will probably get a least 4 different answers. Ask them again in 5 years, and it will most likely change.
How then do we define success. For me, its simple. Obedience to God. Take a listen.

This was a very interesting experience. Not just this situation, but my life being from the US Virgin Islands, and living in the USA. Looking like a Black Man to everyone, but being told "your not a real brother" by Black Americans.
