What does it mean to truly be human? Genesis gives us a vision both earthy and divine—we are formed from the dust yet filled with God’s breath. Dependent on Him, shaped by His Word, and made for relationship, we are invited to walk the journey of life not on our own terms, but in step with our Creator.

What were we made for? From the very beginning, God gave humanity a mission—to fill the earth with His image and reflect His goodness in every corner of creation. Our work and our lives have meaning because they participate in His greater purpose for the world.

What does it mean to be made in the image of God? Genesis tells us we are more than biology—we reflect His character, creativity, and worth. This truth transforms how we see ourselves, how we treat others, and how we live in relationship with God and one another.

This past Sunday we looked at 2 Timothy 1:3–7 and were reminded that every family member has a part to play in building a strong, faith-filled home. Parents, children, and grandparents are all called to love, respect, and encourage one another. And even when it feels too hard, God gives us His Spirit to help us do our part for the good of our families.

What if the empty tomb was just the beginning? Jesus is alive—and that changes everything. Mark’s Gospel ends in trembling silence, but the resurrection calls us to speak. What if greatness looked like getting low? In a world obsessed with power and platform, Jesus stoops to serve. He welcomes the overlooked, challenges the status-hungry, and redefines leadership through humility. True greatness is found in sacrifice. As disciples, we follow our Servant-King by lowering ourselves in love and leading through service.

What if the path to life is marked by sacrifice? Peter calls Jesus the Messiah—but stumbles at the idea of a suffering Savior. We often do the same. Yet Jesus makes it clear: to follow Him is to take up our cross. True life is found in surrender—laying down pride, comfort, and control to walk the path of self-giving love.

What if compassion flows best from a place of rest? Even in grief and exhaustion, Jesus provides—feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and walking on water. But He also withdraws to pray.
