My favorite top ten bets for March Madness twenty twenty three.
Number ten Texas A and M minus one fifty four
on the money line versus Penn State. Now, this is
the only minus you're gonna see on this list of
best bets, and that's because the number seven Texas A

(01:28):
and m Aggies have a legitimate claim to being the
most underseated team in the field.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Texas A and M went fifteen.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
To three in a conference set sent eight teams to
the NCAA Tournament, and the Aggies held opponents to lower
than thirty percent from three point range in SEC play,
which will come in handy against the perimeter happy Nitney Lions.
Number nine, number eleven pitt plus one zh six on
the money line versus Mississippi State. Now, some of these
teams that come out in the first four have a

(01:54):
tendency to get hot, and Pitt.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Could be the next one in that long line.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Pitt is going to be facing a Mississippi State team
that has the worst three point field goal percentage among
Division one teams at twenty six point six percent, and
the Panthers could easily get by an Iowa State team
next that allows nineteen point nine points per game in
the paint. The pit Panthers were the ACC's third best
three point shooting team and the second best in terms
of adjusted offensive efficiency Number eight. Duke to make the

(02:21):
Sweet sixteen at plus one fifty four. The Blue Devils,
fresh off winning the ACC Tournament and riding a nine
game winning streak, will open their twenty twenty three NCAA
tournament facing the region's twelfth seed, Oral Roberts.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
That should be a cake walk for them.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
The two time Honorable Mention All American Max Abrams led
the team in scoring with twenty two point two points
per game, while also grabbing four point four rebounds and
for assists per game as well. Duke is largely known
for its defense, and that should serve them well in
the first few rounds of this twenty, getting them to
the Sweet sixteen. Number seven Creighton to make the Sweet sixteen.

(02:56):
At plus one sixty eight, Creighton out scored their opponents
by eight point one one points per game, scoring seventy
six points six points per game, drank.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Fifty ninth best in college basketball.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
They also had a plus two to sixty nine scoring
differential as well, and this team rebounds thirty four point
eight rebounds per game, that's thirty fifth best in all
of nc DOUBLEA.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
The Blue Jays are also.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Making two and a half more threes per contest than
their opponents, and they average ninety nine points seven points
per one hundred persessions on offense, thirty eighth best in
college basketball, and allow just eighty nine point one points
per one hundred posessions. That's one hundred and twelfth best
in college basketball. So Creaton is for real and a
good bet at plus one sixty eight to make the
Sweet sixteen.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Number six TCU to.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Make the Sweet sixteen plus one seventy two. This season,
TCU nearly matched last year's record twenty one to thirteen,
which also took them to the NCAA Tournament. This is
the first time in seventy years This team has made
the NCAA Tournament and back to back seasons, and now
they've made the Big Tournament three times in the last
six years under head coach Jamie Dixon. TCU recently fell

(04:02):
to the Longhorns sixty six to sixty in the semi
final round of the Big Twelve Tournament last Friday, but
that means TCU knows that they can hang with the
best team in the nation arguably, so TCU should build
on that confidence and build that all the way to
a Sweet sixteen appearance at plus one seventy two number five.
Kent State to make the Sweet sixteen at plus seven ten.

(04:24):
Now Kent State might be the thirteen seed, but the
Golden Flashes ripped through the MAC Tournament, winning the three
games by an average of thirteen point three points.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
They join Indiana team in.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
The first round that struggles to force turnovers and allow
the twelfth highest offensive rebounding percentage in league play.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Not to mention they.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Rank dead last in the league's in free throw attempts
per field go attempt. Kent State is only three in
the NCAA Tournaments in two thousand and two, making the
Elite eight, but this team is good enough to reach
the second weekend, and all bets are off from there literally,
so plus seven ten to make the Sweet sixteen might
be a better wager than you think. Number four the

(05:03):
Yukon Huskies to win the West Region at plus five hundred.
The Huskies enter the tournament on a ten to three run,
with the three losses coming by a combined eight points
to NCAA tournament team Xavier, Creighton, who we already talked about,
and Marquette. No team has rebounded its own misshots better
than Connecticut and has a national best thirty nine point

(05:25):
two offensive rebounding percentage. On defense, the Huskies have held
opposing teams to forty five point five effective field goal
percentage and that ranks eleventh in the nation. Opponents are
shooting just thirty percent on three pointers against Connecticut and
coach Dan Hurley's past two Huskies teams came up short
as they lost to lower seeded teams in the first
round of the NCAA Tournament. But this year, with the pieces

(05:46):
they have, they're in a position to write their own
revenge narrative. So look for Yukon at plus five hundred
to win the West. Number three Houston to win the
National Championship at plus five hundred. After trips to the
Elite eight and the Final four the past two NCAA tournaments,
the Cougars reached the number one seed in the Associated
Press poll for the first time in forty years. Now

(06:07):
they have a chance at the ultimate home court advantage
with this year's Final Four being played guess where in Houston.
The Cougar's rebound and don't turn the ball over much,
which is why they're the prohibitive favorite to win it
all this year, but one huge caveat the health of
National Player of the Year candidate Marcus Sasser is in doubt.
He suffered an apparent groin injury Saturday in the AAC

(06:28):
Conference Tournament semi finals. If Sassar isn't healthy, the whole
tournament picture could get real murky, real fast. So keep
a close eye on the health of Marcus Sasser and
a close eye on how that health might impact this
number at plus five hundred. Number two Alabama to win
the National Championship at plus seven hundred. The Crimson Tide

(06:48):
inched into the best Bets category Sunday after pounding Texas
A and M to win the SEC tournament. Alabama operates
at the fastest pace of any team in the tournament
seventy two point seven possessions for forty minutes. That's ridiculous,
while also leading the nation in opponent's effective field goal
percentage forty one point five percent. The downside of the
Crimson tide is they commit their fair share of turnovers

(07:09):
and don't create a whole lot in terms of turnovers themselves.
They rely too heavily on the three point shot, which
ironically is not exactly their strong suit. So Alabama's in
a good position to win it all at a great number,
and if that Sasser health in Houston isn't right, Alabama's
number could drop from seven to lower. So lock it
in early and watch the money roll in, which brings

(07:31):
us to number one Texas to win the national championship
at plus nineteen hundred. So this is the alternate storytelling, right.
If Houston isn't quite one hundred percent, Texas is in
that same region and they could be the team to
win it all, and what fun that would be at
plus nineteen hundred.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Talk about getting hot at the right time.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Interim coach Rodney Terry's team is peaking right now and
Texas storm through the Big Twelve tournament, winning its three
games by an average of thirteen point three points and
clinching that tie after running away from defending national champion
Kansas on Saturday night in its second double digit victory
over the Jayhawks in just eight days. The Long Worns
have a lot going for them. They're battle tested, their experience,

(08:13):
and they feature nine players who average at least twelve
minutes per game. If Houston Sasser isn't right, Texas could
win their bracket, launch themselves into the Final four, and
could bring home that title of national champion. And at
plus nineteen hundred, what an investment that could be.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Well, there you have it, everybody.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Those are my favorite March Madness bets for twenty twenty three.
