this is BP NFL. It's time to preview the NFC South.
That's right, the Dirty South here. How dirty is it
gonna get? Well, the New Orleans Saints are in this division,
so one can only imagine how far down we're gonna go.
But of course, to help me break down all the
(00:22):
win totals of division winners and our favorite bets Terrell
Furman Junior and the Undertaker himself Andrew Erickson as we
fly through our preview series here, don't forget to subscribe

comments below like this video. It's easy to do, and
let's cash some tickets. Baby. Let's start here with what
(00:45):
went on this offseason. Get everybody caught up in case
you were napping or I don't know, watching WNBA playoffs
with Terrell, whatever you've been doing lately. Let's talk about
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the winners of this division two
years in a row. Keep on getting it done. They
drafted a mega Agbuka, big time wide receiver from the
Ohio State. They re signed Chris Godwin, who is coming
(01:07):
off a major ankle injury. But if you're gonna pay
the man, you think they're gonna play the man, I
would assume. And then Hassan Reddick, the sex specialist who
had a tumultuous year with contract disputes, finds himself now
in Tampa, so hopefully he can bring some pass rush
to that defense of Terrell. What do you make of
the offseason here for the Tampa Bay Bucks before we
start picking apart the win totals, Well, I thought it.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Was a good move going and getting in Becca right
out of the draft. But then also the big question
mark is what's gonna happen at left tackle? Because Worst
is coming off of that injury and he's We're curious
if what's gonna happen, Is he gonna play, is it
gonna be somebody else? What are they gonna do at
left tackle? And being able to shure up that offensive line.
But other than that, it's a lot of rents to
(01:50):
repeat for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at least on the
offensive side of all.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yeah, I agree, Look, the worst injury is important for sure,
but their hope is that they get him back by October.
They only miss us a few weeks. They did make
some signings in the offseason, brought in some veterans who
can swing around from tackle to guard, so hopefully they
can put a band aid on that. But Ericson, that
is a huge loss of the offensive line. Luckily, it's
not an entire year sort of thing, and I think
the good news is that it happened now, so if
(02:15):
guys aren't getting it done, then we're able to go
ahead and start to look at some of the guys
that might still be floating out. They're unsigned to help
add to this offensive line. But BUKA a nice insurance policy,
especially considering the age of Mike Evans, the health of
Chris Godwin, and look, Jalen McMillan is a player I
really like. But McMillan, you know, really didn't come on
(02:35):
strong until the end of the season. So, Erickson, how
would you grade the off season for the Bucks? Well?
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I think again, using hindsight, do you think the Buccaneers
would have still drafted Buka knowing that this Tristan Whorf's
injury was going to happen, because that's how I kind
of look at the situation where it seemed like they
were pretty set at receiver. They paid Chris Godwin, like
you said, so we were under the impression, well, if
they paid him, then they must have at least some
confidence that he's going to be ready for Week one
(03:02):
or to start the season. But now that's really in doubt.
So they could be potentially without two of their best
players on the offensive side of the football between Chris Godwin,
interesting worfs, and they just lost their offensive coordinator for
the second straight year, Liam Cohen, so they have someone
else stepping in now. He was an internal higher Josh Grizzard,
he was there before, spent some time previously with the
Miami Dolphins as well. Maybe it works, but now it's
(03:26):
the third year in a row, Baker Mayfi, that's a
new OC and maybe it doesn't matter at all, or
maybe it matters significantly, especially when you're taking out key personnel.
So that's my concern with Tampa Bay and even the
last two years where Tampa Bay has been a top
this division. Look at how they've started. It has not
been good starts for them. They've started four and six,
four and seven. So if they're going to be starting
in the hole yet again, maybe that's because of these
(03:48):
early season injuries they're going to have to overcome.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
I don't know if they would have pivoted in the
first round, but maybe after they might have taken some
more offensive line help. I think they still would have
taken a Booga. I think good teams the best player
available in their evaluation system in the first rounds with them,
Ravens do historically every year, right, and that's why the
Ravens always at the top. They're like, if it fits
the need, great, but we're just taking the best player
we can. But maybe it would have changed their approach
(04:11):
in the second or third round. I do agree with
that sentiment. Let's move on to the Falcons, who are
gonna have a new starting quarterback this year. But really
this offseason was about re signing guys Taekwon Graham, Knatavia Street,
Morgan Fox. They added Leonard Floyd, Mike Ford, so really
this was about solidifying the defense here Andrew Erickson the Falcons,
(04:32):
that was their main objective, to add pass rush and
that's what they did in the draft as.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Well, yep, adding Jian Walker, which at the time looked
like a steal, and then they just pissed away all
the value by training up to draft James Piers.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Now, if James Pierce Junior is an all Pro pass rusher,
then no one's gonna remember what they paid up.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
To get it.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
It's really a matter about goldest player hit or not,
because the Falcons just have never had a pass rush
since I can remember. So if those two first round
picks can hit, then you're going to see this defense
I think, take a major step forward, because that's just
the thing that's been non existent, is any semblance of
a pass rush. So they clearly addressed that through the
NFL Draft, only drafting basically defensive players with the top
(05:12):
end draft capital, because I mean, this offense has to
be ready to go. All they've done is invest first
round pick after first round pick and do the skill
positions in the quarterback last year with Michael Pennix, I
like him his odds taking that step forward in year two.
Zach Robinson comes from the Rams system. I think this
Falcons office is going to be a lot of fun.
So I think you're going to see some growth with them,
especially if this defense can just be a little bit
(05:33):
better twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Five Terrell, I think that Michael Pennix was unfairly maligned
going into the draft process. I really do. Sometimes those
lefty quarterbacks don't get enough love. I saw him make
big throw after big throw in games for Washington where
I was like, I can't believe he made that throw.
I can't believe he went deep in that moment. I
can't believe he did that. He's a mobile guy. Certainly
(05:54):
anything's more all mobile than Kirk Cousins. I'm cautiously optimistic
this change of quarterback is going to be good for
them in this twenty twenty five season, and they are
possibly going to hit the ground running, which is good.
The question is, did all this investment in the capitol
and defense you think it's gonna pay off on that
side of the football.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
So I'd like to say, for one, as a Giants lover,
Michael Pennix was my pick last year, I would have
drafted Michael Pennix. I was shocked when I heard people
had him sliding into the second round, and I was
a little bit less shocked but not but even more
shot because of the team when the Falcons were the
one to go get them, and then it all came
(06:31):
to a head when they put up thirty four points
on the Giants and completely embarrassed them. And so with
that being said, I think the offense, if it's not good,
it's not Michael Pennan's fault. It's the coaching. And I
think they have all the talent, they have all the weapons,
they have everything they need to be a good offense
because I believe in Michael Pennix.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Now that defense, ooh, Michael Pitticks, Well they got bodies, baby,
they didn't get to bodies.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
A lot of opportunities to put up points, Michael Pennis,
because that ain't gonna help you at all. I think
it's gonna be a lot of shootouts in Falcons games.
I just don't think that they made the right moves,
the questioning of signing, of trading that much draft capital
will go up and get peers and if he doesn't
(07:15):
pan out, Like, is that one player gonna make this
defense better? I don't think so. Like I think this
defense needs a massive overall that doesn't just happen in
one year. So yeah, I think there's gonna be a
lot of points in Falcons games.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Let's continue on with the recapping the offseasons this time,
let's talk about the Carolina Panthers. The big draft pick
for them, Teterro and McMillan, the wide receiver to add
to that group that's pretty crowded right now. So certainly
a lot of weapons potentially here for Bryce Young who
made some strides in the second half, Nick Scrouton as well,
the second round pick out of Texas A and M.
They've made some moves here this offseason, Terrell that I
(07:51):
think we were surprised that maybe they just go right
to defense and address all those issues potentially. I still
think the defense is pretty rough, even whatever they did
put together and piece together in the draft. But I
do think that Dave Canall has really got this team
to play last year and a lot of covers in
the second half against some much better teams. That's very
encouraging outlook wise, where maybe Andrew Rickson was just a
(08:13):
little bit too early on those Carolina Panthers this time
last year.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
All right, So I for one am very very disappointed
because I might have been early on the Carolina Panthers
in tune of they never covered my closure eye special
last year. It was really really annoying. But I'm telling
you now they are a much better team now. And
you talk about that defense. Derek Brown got injured in
Week one last year. That is a completely different defense.
(08:39):
With Derek Brown in the middle, It's something similar to
a Dexter lawrence for the Giants. He is such a
good run stopper, such good on that defensive line. And
then you have Jc Horn who really emerged as a
star corner in that backfield. I really think that the
Carolina Panthers, with the defense being improved with Derek Brown
back in the lineup, that with the growth if we
(09:00):
saw from Bryce Young, They're gonna be interesting. Man, I'm
telling people, They're going to be interesting.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
All right, Ericson you are, mister Panther. After all, Let's
talk about some of the moves that they made this offseason.
I love the Tech McMillan move. I think it's great.
What do you think about this defense?
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Though?
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Did they do enough?
Speaker 3 (09:16):
They can't be worse than they were last year. That's
kind of the basis of the play. They can't. They
were just I mean, they were gonna run over every
single week, giving up one hundred and two hundred yards.
We were playing fantasy RB twos against this defense because
they gave up so much rushing production. Basically, look at
any running backs game log. Their best game was almost
surely against the Carolina Panthers. So I think that they're
(09:38):
going to be better on defense. There's only one way
to go.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Butt up.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
And then the Tetro McMillan addition, Like you said, this
team so badly needed to draft defense, and they couldn't
pass up a talent like t mac in the first
round eighth overall to pair with Bryce. I think it's
just a great fit and I think he's going to
be a monster in year one.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
All right, let's continue on with the final team in
this vision, the New Orleans Saints. They got a new
head coach, Kellen Moore, who's coming off a Super Bowl
victory as the offensive coordinator of the Eagles, and before
that he was the OC for the Chargers and then
the Cowboys. So a guy that was a quarterback in
the league and has spent some time and now he's
going to have a young quarterback and Tyler Shuck or
(10:17):
Spencer Rattler. We just don't know yet. We hope that
the health is better for chrys Olaven Rashis Shahib, but
I'm not holding my breath. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Man.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
It's hard to get excited about the Saints. So the
only way to get excited about them, I think is
to look at some of the low win totals there
and maybe even take some unders there. I say, what
is it to bet them to have the first overall pick?
That's where I want to start. But look, Tyler Shuck,
same age as Andrew Erickson, just about coming into the league.
So Andrew, let's talk about the new quarterback, the new
(10:48):
head coach, and the situation that doesn't look too great
in New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Now it's not great. And how many losses is this
organization you're gonna have to see before they decide, Well,
let's just pull the plug on twenty twenty five. Let's tank.
Let's get Archie Manning. That's who they want. You Look
at Tyler Shuck. He is the perfect tank quarterback. Right,
This is the exact guy you get when you're thinking
twenty six year old rookie quarterback coming in. We're trying
(11:12):
to tank and The Saints have been the anti tank
team for as long as I can remember. With Mackey
Loomis calling the shots, they're always in that mediocrity period.
They're signing free agents that they probably shouldn't be signing,
but with Tyler Schuck under center, I just think that's
what's going to end up happening here. When you look
at the way that the schedule is set up for them,
it doesn't really get a lot better. Again, they haven't
(11:33):
every team in this division has a easy schedule relative
to other teams because while they're playing the NFC South,
so they're just playing other bad teams. But the Saints specifically,
they don't necessarily have a cake walk to open the year.
So I just think it takes four or five losses
to open the year. Saints fans are let's tank. Let's
tank for Archie Manning. So yeah, I'm definitely with you
(11:55):
on looking for the lowest range of outcomes for this
Saints team rather than chasing any time of upside that
I just don't really see with Shuck.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yeah, a weird offseason for the Saints, Charrell, I think,
to say the least, but certainly maybe a calculated one
where they want the future quarterback to have another manning
on that last name of the jersey.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah. And I mean, first of all, let me speak
to Spencer rather Spencer. If you thought that you was
worried about Tyler coming in, I just want you to know.
I hate to predict injury, but there's a chance he
might not even make it to week one. He has
gotten injured every step along the way in college. As
(12:37):
somebody who has covered college, there are so many times
where they're like, oh, yeah, they have the shock kid,
but he's injured, so he's not playing right now. I
mean there's a good chance that he gets to the
NFL and he just folds. So Spencer, stay ready so
you don't have to get ready. And that's my thoughts
on Tyler Shuck in this offense. I mean, if Kellen
(12:58):
Moore makes it work, then you know what, Congress, Kellen Moore,
you're actually a great head coach. But I don't know
how anybody's supposed to do anything with this.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
No. I mean, look, it's gonna be tough. The learning
curve is going to be not too kind, probably to
kill on more. But that's okay. We can still make
some money off it, so Before we get to the
wind totals, a quick look at Novig, which is a
smart way to play. There's a new sports trading platform
that's changing the game, and it's called Novig. It's legal
in most states, including California, Georgia, and Texas. It's peer
(13:28):
to peer, which means you're competing against other users, not
the house, so you can often get better lines than
traditional books at Novig. And you can set your own
lines too, which gives you control that most sportsbooks just
don't offer. There's no commissions, no hidden fees, seriously, and
it just uses a coin deposit system. But it's real money.
And if you can use the promo code daily Juice,
(13:49):
I think you can. You get fifty percent off of

up today for Novig using that promo code daily Juice
at Bettingpros dot com slash Juice. All Right, let's get
(14:12):
to the win totals here. Let's start with our Buccaneers.
Our Buccaneers, because we love the Buccaneers. The win totals
we got five and a half, seven and a half,
nine and a half. Terrell Furman Junior. Look, this is
a pretty strong team in a pretty weak division. Wurf's
injury aside, slow starts aside. I think they can win
ten games. I'm gonna take the over nine and a
half at plus one oh five. Where are you living
(14:33):
with the Bucks?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
I'm actually not as sold I'm not as sold on
the defense. I'm not as sold on I mean, anything's
hot bowls. Defensively just hasn't been great. And for him
to be this defensive head coach, you would think that
would be the side of the ball that would be
so assured year after year after year after year. It
is not. It's kind of been up and down in
a roller coaster. And then you add the fact of
(14:54):
I don't know what's going on at left tackling. I
think Baker Mayfield as a quarterback needs perfect conditions to thrive.
If you start taking pieces away from here or there,
then it is not as good quarterback play as you
would like to see like he has to have really
really good conditions. I just don't think that they're all
the way there. So a ten win team after what
Ericson said after their slow starts to the season, I
(15:16):
don't know. I think they're closer to a nine win team.
So I'll go ahead down take the under nine and
a half.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Erickson, where are you going for the Bucks win total?
Speaker 3 (15:23):
I'm going to raise Furman or I guess maybe this
case lower for I'm going to go under seven and
a half. I think that the Bucks bottom out here.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Your poker analogies need work, Ericson, that's the one thing
I know, the poker analogies need work. That's a right,
we got all. We got another auguest left to go. Still,
we're good.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I think that the slow start, I don't know if
they're going to overcome it. That's where I get concerned
about this Bucks team. When you look at Mayfield again,
putting him in situations where he can succeed. He was
the third least pressure quarterback last year, but he had
the fifth highest pressure to sack rate, So when he
does get pressure, he takes sacks those kill drives. The
last two seasons he leads the NFL in interceptions. So
(16:05):
when you're playing this high variance type of football, you're
playing in the shootouts, sometimes it falls in your favor
and you win those games. Other times it doesn't and
you throw an interception and then you lose that game.
He's fourth in total sacks over that time as well.
Already talked about the new OC coming in. Maybe it's
the exact same offense, maybe the efficiency just carries over
from last year, or maybe you see regression from a
guy who was second in the NFL in passing touchdown
(16:27):
percentage when his starting left tackle and starting slot receiver
are both not going to be on the field potentially
in Week one. And just looking at the specific schedule,
they start the schedule with two road games. They play
the Eagles in Week four, and they have three more
road games before a week nine by week post by
week they play at Buffalo and at the Rams. So
I just don't think that this is a really good
(16:48):
schedule for them. Again, NFC South, most of the time
it is a cakewalk, not for Tampa Bay. So I
am taking the under because I like the Falcons and Panthers.
I think those teams are underrated and I like their
win totals more.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
All right, well, let's move to the Falcons. Here. Three
and a half, five and a half, seven and a half.
Those are the numbers on the board. I would say this,
I think I'm waiting on this one. That's where I am.
I am looking at that opening game in Atlanta against
the Bucks. If they lose that, I think this changes,
and then that's when I jump on it. Here over
seven and a half, because I don't think you're getting
(17:20):
enough here it's minus one thirty. I think that might
flip to plus one ten or somewhere in that range.
If they lose that first game. There will be some
probably reaction or maybe even overreaction to that first one.
We'll see how it goes. But to me, this is
a weight and bet Week one scenario ericson where do
you live with these Falcons numbers.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
I'm taking the over over seven and a half wins.
I think that they come out like gangbusters and you're
going to see Michael Pennix just ripping the ball against
this Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary that I think is just overrated.
So give me the Falcons to start out hot, and
I'm going to fade the Bucks.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Fading the Bucks? All right, Well see Falcons win total numbers,
Terrell Furman, what do you think?
Speaker 2 (18:03):
I think my floor with how I like their defense
is eight wins. And so if you're telling me that
I'm wrong in the defense actually is very very much improved.
They're way better than an eight win team here. I
think seven and a half is a perfect line for them.
I would gladly take the over there. And this team
is one of the teams that I think that, hey,
you can play around and you can get a little
bit eight and a half, nine and a half. Because
(18:25):
if the Falcons end up being a ten win team
because Michael Pennix is just an absolute star, then yeah,
I would one hundred percent believe it. So I like
over seven and a half. I think that's the floor
of this season eight wins.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
I do too. I just want positive number on it.
I don't want I don't want minus one thirty on
the seven and a half on the Falcons because I
don't trust them enough yet. So if they lose to
the Bucks in that Week one, even if it's a
close game, I do think that number is gonna shrink
in terms of whatever the juice is it couldn't even
get to even money. That's why I would bet the
over on seven and a half. So this is a
very calculated Falcons bet for me. Carolina Panthers win totals
(18:57):
three and a half, four and a half, six and
a half. You guys keep talking up the Panthers here,
So are you gonna put your money where your mouth is? Tourell,
where are you going here for the win total on
this one?
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Oh, I'm just getting started into Carolina Panthers love. Of course,
I'm taking over six and a half wins. This is disrespectful, disrespectful.
This is disrespectful to what Bryce Young was at the
end of that season last year. This is not Bryce
Young where he had literally four grocery baggers on the
offensive line covering for him. This is a completely different
(19:27):
Bryce Young. And now you give him a star weapon
on number one to go to and we have a
defense with Derek Brown that I think is literally going
to be night and day different. Like, yes, I am
all over the Carolina Panthers this season. I have more
Panthers love later.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
You know, it's funny. They open against Jacksonville and Arizona,
then they play Atlanta. So interesting opening to the season
here for the Carolina Panthers for sure. So definitely, well,
I was gonna say, I think, you know, after those
three games two and one, I would think, and then
looking at the clothes, I would like to look at
the openings and closed of the season. They do have
a late bye week, it's Week fourteen, but then coming
(20:03):
out of the by they played New Orleans, then Tampa, Seattle,
and Tampa again, so all their Tampa Bay games are
backloaded in the schedule. They do a home and home
basically on December fourteenth, and then in week eighteen again.
So that's kind of interesting here where they might be
They could build on that momentum that they started last
year quite well, Andrew Rickson, especially if they can stay healthy.
(20:25):
That's gonna be a big thing here for these Panthers.
But what do you think about this win total.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Andrew, I'm taking me over. Yeah, last year, just a
little too early on the Panthers. I liked them about
last year and Week one was absolutely terrible against the
New Orleans. Say it's I got absolutely destroyed. So I'm
going back to it. Given the Panthers, give me over.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
All right, We've got one more team. They say save
the best for last, but it's the opposite of this.
You can insert awkward poker analogy from Andre Erickson here too.
If you like, whatever floats your boat. New Orleans Saints
right now win total here for them, you got two
and a half, three and a half, five and a half.
So Andrew under two and a half wins. They just
(21:06):
win two games plus four forty. I don't know if
they'll be that bad. It's kind of tricky there, Andrew.
It's kind of tricky. The under three and a half
is plus two ten and then the under five and
a half minus one sixty five three wins for the Saints.
That feels about right for me. I think I can
get on board of the three wins. By the way,
I'm with you, guys. I just hate the juice on
(21:28):
the Panthers, but I'm with you on the over and
the six and a half. But what about the Saints, Andrew,
how bad can it be and how can we make
some cash on it?
Speaker 3 (21:35):
I think it'd be pretty bad. I don't know if
I can get there. Like you said, under the two
and a half wins. To me, this team reminds me
a lot of that twenty twenty three Texans team that
went three thirteen and one before they fired everybody and
then they brought in they drafted Stroud, they got to
be go Ryan. So although I think that Kellen Moore
is safe for this year, I think that his job
is going to be fine. He knows the office front office,
(21:57):
knows what he's working with. I think three is probably
appropriate number, although I think that maybe the better play
is to look at odds of and to have the
number one overall pick. I don't know exactly what that
would pay out, but under three and a half would
be the one that I would gravitate towards the most.
At plus two to ten, all.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
Right, clean sweep Terrell or you see this a different way.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
No, I don't think they're gonna be any good. I
mean I've given out my Seahawks' fewest wins that the
team that could dethrow me are the New Orleans Saints.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Set talk about the Saints and Seahawks playing each other,
that was like, that's the game.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Yeah, they're they're four to one for them to have
the worst record in the league. It's not looking good.
And I mean tired Matthew just retired because he was like,
I don't I don't want any part of this, Like, yeah,
I'm completely out on the new Ones.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
That game, in case you're wondering, is week three, so
you're gonna know early on Terrell how things are going
here on that one. So those are the win totals.
That's the look.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Let's take a Division nine chance that Tyler Schuck is
even playing by week three?
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Oh no, honest not Oh no, it could very well
be Spencer Ratler. It could, I mean dire for numerous reasons,
numerous reasons. Before we get to the division winner here,

tools on the planet. Let's look at the division here
for the win, the Buccaneers plus one oh five for
the three pet the Falcons plus two to thirty. Tempting,
but again the defensive suspect Carolina Panthers. They're adorable, They're
plus three fifty, they're chippy. But I just don't know
if I get on board with them winning this division
and the Saints plus thirteen hundred. I can't believe it's
just plus thirteen hundred. I'll be honest with you. I
think this is wrong. I think it should be a greater.
(24:08):
That's how impossible I think it is for the Saints
to win this division. I would put this at my
at plus two thousand, easily, easily. I can't believe it's
plus thirteen anyway. Look, I know we can make some
arguments for the Falcons and Panthers, and I feel like,
from sitting here, you guys are I'm not. I'm gonna
go with the Buccaneers in the chalk here and now
it's boring that but nobody cares, Terrell, you're not boring.
(24:31):
Go ahead laid on me because I'm sure it's gonna
be sexy.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Yeah, give me the Panthers. I'm going with there the division.
I really really do. I think the Panthers defense has improved,
and I think that we saw what Bryce Young can
be it if they can give him some really really
solid offensive line play, I think that can also has
a really really good chance of making Bryce Young a
good quarterback. I never heeded Bryce Young. I always thought
(24:56):
it was everything around Bryce Young, and now Bryce Young
has everything he needs to succeed. He just needs very
solid offensive line plate. I think they can get that.
So I like the Panthers. I think the Panthers can
be really solid. I don't think it's going to take
much to win the division. I think nine and eight
can win the division. I think the Panthers can get
to a season.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Ericson, you were kind of giddy there with that selection.
Does that mean you agree I love this pick.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
I'm also there with the Carolina Panthers at plus three fifty.
I'm pretty sure I met them win the division last year. Now,
the odds were probably closer to the plus thirteen hundred oh,
I think.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
You're a little ahead, but maybe maybe we're maybe all
things are meeting up.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Finally, I don't love that it's plus three fifty now,
but I think it's still a really great payoup because
I think that they are going to win this division.
And it reminds me of Dan Campbell's first season with Detroit.
It started out really really bad, but in that second
half of his rookie year as the head coach, they
started covering a lot of games really good against the spread,
exactly what we saw from Carolina. If that carries over
(25:54):
to the start of this season in a week division
where I like Atlanta, but they do have whole on defense.
The Buccaneers I talked about, I think they're going to
regress again, losing another offensive coordinator. I think that that matters,
especially protecting Baker Mayfield. So I think it's Carolina Panthers division.
I think they're going to end up winning it. And
my final point going to the trends, I know I've
talked to you guys. I talked your ears off about, well,
(26:17):
this team's going to go from last place to first
place in the division. Now, Carolina last year technically came
in third place in the NFC South. But I looked
more into it, and it's on a technicality because it
was the fifth tiebreaker between them and the New Orleans
Saints because they both had a five and twelve record
and they had the same.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
All right, So this is the first of this story
you want to tell about worse to first that I
can actually get on board with.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Okay, but that's what I mean.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
The one's the lone one so far.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
I was trying to find the right team to fit
this narrative, and the Carolina Panthers are the one that's perfect.
But they just had to beat the Falcons in Week
eighteen in overtime to have the same record as the
New Orleans Saints. And then yeah, they have the same
division record, conference record, common opponents recording. That it was
it was strength of victory, which was the fifth.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Rock paper Scissors tournament at the end.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Of the Carolina of the New Orleans Saints. So yeah,
I mean, basically, they did come in last place tied
with the Saints last year, so they were gonna go
from worse to first.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Right, all right, Again, this is the first of the
worst to first that I could get on board wire
we trying to sell me last week. You were trying
to sell me like, yeah, get it, get out of
here with the title.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
It It was actually pretty it just plus seven fifty.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Let's move on to our favorite bets in this division here.
I'm keeping this simple. Baker Mayfield regular season total passing
yards last year was forty five hundred. They're sitting the
number at thirty eight twenty five and a half, three
eight hundred and twenty five and a half, so you
just gotta get about four thousand. Baker can do that,
all right, So that that's cake minus one fourteen. Let's
(27:50):
lock that in. Bucky Irving to have a thousand yards rushing,
I'm gonna lock that in too. On thousand and a
half is the number I'm gonna take over, minus one fourteen.
I think those are pretty good there. Tech McMillan regular
season total receiving yards. I think you can get over
this number. I think it's a little low. I could
see him getting into the eight fifties, maybe eight seventy five,
pushing to nine. The number, though, is just eight twenty
five and a half. So I'll take the over on
(28:11):
that one at minus one fourteen. So those are my
three favorite bets. I gotta say I struggled here to
find like fun bets for the NFC South. Maybe Terrell
did a better job than I did.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah, uh, you you're under selling it a lot. Last
year Leak Neighbors thousand yard receiver, last year Brock Bauer
stousy yard receiver.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Teed Brian Thomas junior, Brian.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Thomas Junior, thousand yard receivers, D receiver. What are we
talking about here, Tep McMillan's gonna come in here. He's
coming into a system where he's the guy. And I
think that's where it's even more interesting than Brian Thomas Junior.
Because when you look at that Raiders team, it was
Brock Bowers. They were throwing the football. To where you
look at that Giants team, it was Belie Neighbors. They're
throwing football too. As much as I'm talking about Bryce
(28:55):
Sung has more weapons, it's gonna be Tech mc millan.
They're throwing football too. Tep mc millan. A thousand yards
plus twenty five put that into bank and I like that.
Let's go ahead and pair it along with a over
six and a half wins as a nice little, nice
little gimme over the course of the season. Okay, we'll
get that, but then yeah, I will sprinkle a little
(29:15):
bit on the Jungle Cats to win the division.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Or look at you. You guys are banging the drum.
You and Andrew Rickson. They gonna they gonna let you go
pound the drum this year? You too? You think Carol? Hey,
you know what, you know?
Speaker 2 (29:28):
I frequent in Charlotte a lot. They might know.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Might let me do it? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (29:33):
You know what, guy, his tickets firm and I will
be there with my.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
I want to see ready to go, Ji pound that drum.
That's why I going to break that bad boy. All right,
let's go for Andrew Ericcks's favorite bets and wrap this
bad boy up for the NFC South Betting Guide.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Taking the Low Hanging Fruit Saints to finish last in
the NFC South at minus one oh five. That's just yep,
that one's easy. That's also from the betting prost Discordso
shout out to the guys in there, guys, guys and
gals in there, Buccaneers under seven and a half wins.
I'm gonna fade Tampa Bay and then continue my love
with the Cardiac Cats. I think that you should definitely
bet on them to win the division of plus three fifty.
(30:11):
But I'm going to go another step. I'm going to
raise you guys, actually, this time with Tetro McMillan. So
you took the over on the receiving yards at eight
point fifty, Firman took it over one thousand. I'm going
for the big Enchilada here. I'm going sixteen to one
odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year TETROA. McMillan.
You look at the last time a rookie receiver won
this award, Garrett Wilson in twenty twenty two. He had
(30:33):
eighty three catches for eleven hundred yards and four touchdowns.
So if the quarterback class, if it's not cam Ward
that wins this award, it's the last two years it's
been that quarterback that's had that amazing rookie season. If
it's not a quarterback this year, which in a relatively
weaker class, you're just betting against cam Ward. I think
McMillan has a case, especially with running backs. Yes, the
running back class is talented, but guys get banged up,
(30:55):
Guys get hurt. I think mcillin's going to put himself
in a position where he's going to have the counting
stats to be in that conversation at the end. And
Week one he plays Jacksonville, he scores a touchdown over
Travis Hunter. That's gonna the voters are gonna remember that.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Okay, it's kind of a weak year though, Ken Walker,
Brock Purty, Garrett Wilson, brisall got hurt. Ashion genty is
gonna be tough to overcome. But I like your huts
sixteen to one. I like one. It's sixteen to one.
It's hey, it's fun, it's a good time. Look, we
cashed last year, right, We were all on the Jaden
daniels Man wagon last year for Rookie of the Year.
(31:29):
So that worked out pretty well. And that was like
seven or eight.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
I mean, Jon was away from my Rookie of the
Year cash.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
Well, you know, if only, if only. I'm sure you're
gonna get to watch a lot of Daniel Jones in
blue this year for the Indiapolis Colts though this time around.
