What if the fastest way to feel lighter isn’t to do more, but to release what was never yours to carry? Today we open up a heart-level conversation about overwhelm, purpose and the surprising power of simple systems when they’re guided by values. We take you beyond the surface and into a thoughtful framework that blends practical organising with a spiritual lens, so you can create a rhythm that actually fits your life.

I walk through my Baltrix Method™ approach and pair it with the 4D filter: Delete, Delegate, Delay, Do Differently. Delete helps you release habits, roles, and old stories that drain you. Delegate reframes support as wisdom, not weakness, inviting partnership at home, in community, and in prayer. Delay brings back seasons and pacing, protecting you from urgency that scatters focus. Do Differently replaces busyness with simple, effective steps that honour your brain and your bandwidth. Along the way, we talk about managing the mental load, navigating neurodiverse tendencies without shame, and taking small wins that build real momentum.

You’ll hear scriptural insights alongside practical tips, all aimed at restoring order without chasing perfection. Expect gentle prompts to name what’s stealing your peace, to stop striving for control you don’t need, and to move into a steady flow where clarity and calm can coexist. If you’ve been juggling too much, longing for more purpose and less noise, this conversation offers a clear path forward: one decision, one season, one lighter step at a time.

If this resonates, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a breather, and leave a quick review so more people can find the show. Your next week can feel lighter so what will you release first?

Welcome to Beyond Organised, the podcast that helps you simplify your life and amplify your purpose. I'm Mel Schenker, life coach, speaker, founder of She's Organised, but, more importantly, a wife and mum of four little kids. If you've ever felt overwhelmed, like you're constantly juggling everything but never quite catching up, this is the place for you. Here we go beyond just the tidying up and creating systems. We're talking about real life strategies that bring order to your life, but also we talk about the things beyond the organising, the things that really matter, like your parenting relationships and so much more. So grab your coffee and let's dive in.

(00:58):
Welcome to another episode.
And I just wanted to go alittle bit of a different route
today.
I wanted to talk more on ourheart level.
So going more into thespiritual side of things.
Now I am a Christian and I docome from a Christian

(01:20):
perspective and from biblicalvalues.
But I gotta tell you what I'vegot to share today, honestly,
even if you're not a Christian,I really do believe you're gonna
get something out of this too.
I just will be incorporatingsome scripture in it.
But hey, it doesn't happen tolearn a thing or two though,
does it?

(01:40):
So last week I had theprivilege of speaking at one of
the prophetic schools that I'mpart of, and it was absolutely
amazing.
I had such good response, suchgood feedback, and a lot of
people joined the community thathadn't previously been part of
it.
And it made me realize thateven with my Baltrix method,

(02:04):
which you would have heardbefore, and the 4D filter, I
have got something here that caneven work in a spiritual sense.
It can really work foranything.
So I'm very excited to gothrough it today.
I want to try and keep thisshort enough and easily
digestible for you.
But if you have questions, ifyou want to dive into this
deeper and further with me, I ammore than happy to have a chat

(02:28):
with you.
All the details on how tocontact me is in the
description.
But I just wanted to give yousomething to think about that's
on a heart level today.
So the first part of themethod, as you may know, is
identify.
Now, we want to identify thethings that's weighing us down

(02:48):
right now, that's really heavyon our heart, the thing that's
that's holding us back, that'smaking us sad, that's causing us
the stress and the anxiety.
And it might not be anything todo with our home or our time.
And that a lot of the time itdoes come from relationships.

(03:09):
It comes from being a mum, anything like that.
So we want to identify what isweighing on your heart right
now.
Now, there's a very good chanceyou probably know what it is,
but I want to encourage you togo a little bit further on
what's causing that friction inyour day-to-day life.

(03:30):
Maybe what thoughts and thingsyou keep putting off, you keep
trying avoiding dealing with.
And if if you are someone thattalks to God uh or even the
universe or anything like that, ask to reveal what is weighing

(03:51):
on your heart and maybe pray forthe discernment to know what is
from him and what's simplynoise.
But a question I pose to you iswhat is currently stealing my
peace that God might be invitingme to surrender or simplify.

(04:11):
So that's the first part.
Now we head into the secondstep, which is simplify.
Now, this is where the 4Dfilter comes in.
So going through the first D,which is delete.
Can I remove this entirely?
Now we know in a practicalsense, around the home, we could
declutter with our time, we canfree up our schedule, all that

(04:33):
kind of stuff.
But when we're talking aboutthe spiritual side of things, I
want to encourage you to thinkabout letting go of what's no
longer serving you in thisseason.
Is it a habit, an addiction, mindset?
Maybe it's even aresponsibility of something that

(04:55):
we shouldn't be carrying.
It's actually not ours tocarry.
Sometimes when we hold on tootight to the past and to the old
ways of doing things, we don'tactually leave a lot of room for
the new things, the new thingsthat God might be wanting to
work on in us.
So the first one is delete.

(05:17):
And I encourage you to look atthings that can be removed
that's no longer serving you.
Now, I've got a couple ofverses.
I do want to add in somescripture here.
Now, the first verse that I'vegot to support this is Isaiah
43, 18 to 19.
Forget the former things, donot dwell on the past.

(05:40):
See, I am doing a new thing.
Now it springs up.
Do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in thewilderness and streams in the
wasteland.
So it's all about the newthings.
But there's also Philippians 3,13 to 14.
But one thing I do, forgettingwhat is behind and straining
towards what is ahead, I presson towards the goal to win the

(06:02):
prize for which God has calledme heaven with in Christ Jesus.
So let's move forward.
Let's let go of the things thataren't serving us and let's
start moving forward.
So one reflection thing tomaybe think about is what might
God be asking me to release so Ican step freely into the next
season.
And the next one is delegate.

(06:26):
So who else can own this?
Now, I'm not just talking aboutthe chores and the things that
you can outsource and all ofthat.
I'm talking about here, what issomething that you are carrying
that you were never meant tocarry alone.
God calls us into partnershipwith him and with others.

(06:46):
Sometimes we feel like it's ourresponsibility to take on the
weight of the world.
And especially as mums, aswives or partners, we just feel
that we're all alone, eventhough we know we know better,
we know that other people aregoing through it.
We just feel like it's ourburden to bear.

(07:07):
This is our life, this is ourcross.
But that's not how it shouldbe.
God wants us to partner withhim, wants us to do life with
him.
And even if this isn'tsomething that you believe in,
connect with others.
Connecting with others, it'snot weakness, it's actually

(07:31):
wisdom.
So one verse that came to mindwas 1 Peter 5, 7, cast all your
anxieties on him because hecares for you.
There's also another one,Galatians 6, 2.
Carry each other's burdens, andin this way you will fulfill
the law of Christ.
We're meant to help each other.
We're meant to support eachother.

(07:52):
We're not meant to be doing italone.
So even if you've got no one inyour world to talk to, and even
if you've never even talked toGod, I encourage you, just speak
out loud.
Just get it out there and justask, what am I carrying that I
really shouldn't be right now?
Or hand over the thing that youknow is something you shouldn't

(08:15):
be carrying right now.
Now, the next point is delay.
So, does this need to happennow?
I'm not talking aboutprocrastination.
We all know that.
We're talking about priorities.
So, again, it's asking whatneeds to happen today, and just
recognizing that not everythingneeds to happen today.

(08:36):
There is a season and a timefor everything.
There's a rhythm.
And just like with music, there's all different beats,
there's all different rhythms, there's no right or wrong genre.
There's no right or wrong styleof music.
It's just different.
And that's like us as people.
There's actually no right orwrong way to go about our daily

(09:00):
life and daily tasks and all ofthese things.
We do the best we can, butthere's no one size fits all.
There's no right or wrong inthat sense.
We just need to find our beat, our music, our rhythm.
And that can be exciting.
Because, you know, maybe you'vebeen trying to dance to the
classical rhythm of tradition, always doing it the way that

(09:24):
maybe your parents did it,things like that.
But really, you're a rock star.
And you've got to break freeand you've got to swing that
guitar around and just smash it.
Please don't.
I'm a guitar player, I love myguitars.
The thought of smashing one islike a baby dying.
So don't smash it.
But you get what I mean?
It's finding that rhythm thatis yours.

(09:47):
And sometimes it's not theright season, it's not the right
place to be stepping intothings.
And we need to work out whatcan wait.
Because maybe we've already gotenough on our plate that we
actually need to be dealing withfirst.
And for a lot of you with theneurodiverse uh tendencies and
diagnoses, it's the fact thatyou can tend to jump from one

(10:11):
thing to another withoutfinishing things before can
really get you undone at times.
So I'm encouraging you to holdoff on that exciting new thing
that you really want to try andyou really want to do and try
and complete what's already onyour plate and actually looking
at what's going on because it isweighing you down.

(10:33):
It is mentally affecting you, emotionally, physically, but
also spiritually.
So one verse that comes to mindwas Ecclesiastes 3, verse 1.
So there is a time foreverything and a season for
every activity under theheavens.
And then there's also Proverbs16, 9.

(10:55):
In their hearts, humans playtheir course, but the Lord
establishes their steps.
So great to have a plan, greatto have initiative and a goal
and things you want to worktowards.
That's what I encourage.
That's what I like to helppeople do.
But sometimes we can't controlevery single detail.

(11:16):
In fact, we never can controlevery single detail.
It will only lead to being moremiserable.
Trust me, I have been there.
It is not worth it.
We control what we can, we planwhat we can, and we honestly
give the rest to God.
Let him work that out for us.
The fourth D is do differently.

(11:38):
So is there a simpler way?
Now we could streamline, we canautomate, we can try different
approaches, all that kind ofstuff in the practical.
But in the spiritual sense, Ireally felt that God was wanting
you to know that He doesn'treward the busyness, he's not

(12:00):
found in the busyness.
He blesses obedience.
So sometimes he's asking us notto do more, but to do it
differently, to trust adifferent way of going about
things.
And honestly, from everythingthat I've learned and what I
teach and the results that Isee, usually it's about

(12:23):
simplifying because chaos andconfusion and all of that does
not come from God, but claritydoes simple, easy ways to do
things that that comes from Him.
Now, sometimes putting it intoaction can be hard because it

(12:44):
might you know fight againsthabits and addictions and things
that we've we've had for solong, but we know that it's
good.
So Romans 12, 2 came to mindfor that one.
So do not be conformed to thepatterns of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing ofyour mind.

(13:06):
Then you'll be able to test andapprove what God's will is, his
good, pleasing, and perfectwill.
A lot of it does start up here, starts with our mindset.
And it can be really tricky.
And I had this questionrecently where someone asked,
how to how do you deal with itwhen you're so overwhelmed?

(13:28):
Where do you start?
And one thing I've come to seeis that for a lot of people that
are really overwhelmed, they'renot ready yet.
They're not ready to actuallytake action to get the proper
coaching or help that theyreally need.
They're not quite ready yet.
And usually taking a physicalstep, physical action, maybe it

(13:49):
is cleaning out that draw orwhatever, can give you that
little win to start building andfueling that motivation and all
that kind of stuff.
But it can only get you so far.
And your mind really does playa big part in it.
Now, sometimes we try to dealwith our mind in the natural

(14:10):
sense when really we need to besurrendering it to God, allowing
things that are beyond ourknowledge, beyond our
recognition to play a part inbeing able to heal what has been
hurting us.
And sometimes we don't evenknow what it is, but he does.

(14:33):
He knows what it is.
And just let him take a bit ofthe control as well.
So my question to you on thatone is you know, where is God
inviting you to stop striving?
Instead, embrace more of agrace-filled rhythm.
So that was simplified.

(14:55):
Now, flow as we move into this.
I had this verse, the 1Corinthians 14, 40, let all
things be done decently and inorder.
Now, order, organizing, allthis stuff, it does come from
him.
There is order in the way thathe goes about things.
Chaos, as I said before, is notunder his structure.

(15:16):
It's not under his command.
That is the work of the enemy.
Now, we want to flow in movingin step with God, with that
rhythm where order and peacecoexist.
So it's not about trying to getto a perfect place.
It's not about trying to beable to control everything.

(15:39):
You're doing it on your own.
It's about walking inalignment, in partnership with
him, and actually going, Thisfeels lighter, more doable, more
achievable.
And I'm still, if anything, I'mgetting more out of my day in
my life than I ever was before.

(16:01):
So a good question to even askis what does obedience even look
like in this season?
What is it he's asking of you, asking you to do?
And I'm telling you, there's avery good chance he's actually
asking you to let something go,to not take on more, to not be
adding to your pressure andproblems, but to actually put

(16:24):
something to bed, to let itrest, to walk away even.
So, look, I feel like I couldgo on and on and on and on on
this topic.
And I would love to talk to youmore about it.
And I probably will bring upmore things in the future.
And I am conscious of the factthat the audience I speak to are

(16:46):
not specifically Christians, but I just really felt to put
this one out there.
And if you're not a Christian, that's totally fine.
I really hope you got somethingout of it.
And I would love to hear yourspecific thoughts and opinions
on this as well.
So yeah, just reach out, let meknow what you think, and I will

(17:08):
be giving you some more bits onthis in the future.
But I hope you have a greatweek, and I will talk to you
next week.
